If I could find a negative about this place, it would be is far from my house! The food is good, large portions, comes out fast from your order. What really makes this place standout is the service! The 2 young ladies that helped me today, I mean help, because I'm a clutz & spilled my entire water over the table just as the breakfast was served. The young woman who delivered the food jumped into action, she picked up both my phones to save them before I could even acknowledge the incident. She is amazing! She returned with clean up supplies & a smile. I felt so badly. Both women had the table cleaned, delivered extra condiments, didn't bat an eye or make me feel like the clutz that I am. The omelet was good, the potatoes were excellent. I had the steak omelet with farm potatoes & sourdough. They use PACE picante as their "salsa " with no Cholula. That was disappointing but it is a "Midwestern" theme restaurant, Plenty of seating, EXCELLENT service & good food. By far one of the best if not the best local breakfast joints to eat at in the valley. I Love a good breakfast and coming from a small town in Montana, no one does it like the team here at Hoosiers! The service is always on point and they are pros at getting good food out and turning tables quick! Not only that but the restaurant it self has that Indiana hospitality vice to it! In all the years I've had breakfast food, THIS, is one of the best I've had yet. Their omelettes are three eggs your way and come with fresh ranch potatoes of hash browns plus toast or biscuits and gravy. They had other things but I usually hone in on the omelettes. I asked for a spinach with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. I've never had biscuits and gravy until most recently before this visit. On the two other occasions, I tried it, it didn't stand out. Hoosiers on the other hand did. Their biscuit is most definitely fresh and didn't have that chalky taste. The gravy itself wasn't runny. If anything, it was rich with flavor. Oh what I would give to have another bite of it. What's interesting too is that, the biscuit and gravy was only a side. I loved the cheese and spinach with this omelette. The hash browns also had a crisp exterior. Our server was exceptionally nice too! To think we almost switched restaurants because they were so busy and I had to catch a flight. I went there as a ex Hoosier looking for a taste from my childhood. The breaded Tenderloin was huge and a the fries were very good. I was thinking of a restaurant called the "garage" in broadripple. A wonderful Neighborhood Diner and comfortable atmosphere inside the Hoosier Cafe. We ordered the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich for lunch and luckily we saw the pictures ahead of time online because the size is very large and makes the bun look minimal. The pork tenderloin is fried to perfection and the meat is lean and tender. We got the side salad and ordered an extra side of fries because we were sharing our meal and ended up taking half of those items home. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Staff is very Friendly and our Server checked on us multiple times during our meals and we noticed that they actually took the time to communicate with us and the other customers instead of the usual casual fly by questions you receive at other diner style establishments. They are fast and accurate on the ordering and your coffee cup will never go empty. Everything on extensive menu here is good and comes out of the kitchen quickly and hot. I especially love their large 4-egg omelets you can customize, as well as their egg Benedict offerings. Pancakes are nice and dense and the biscuits here are imho, the best in the valley I've found. Located at one end of a strip mall on Warner in Chandler, there is plenty of open parking and you'll need it here on a weekend when this popular place fills up. They could benefit from joining "waitlist" for local customers who want to time their arrival to minimize the outside wait. Once inside, you'll feel like you are in the diner in a small Midwestern town, there are tons of college jerseys and memorabilia everywhere, of course highlighting their namesake, the Indiana Hoosiers. I love it, the friendliness of the staff and the great food make everyone happy. You may just end up striking a conversation with the table next to you and having another cup of coffee!!! I'm not a sportball fan but my friend wanted to try this Indiana based breakfast spot recently. We were seated fairly quickly even though they were super busy. Waitress was super friendly. We always split food and try a cinnamon roll if they have it. It was warm and plentiful. The icing was not amazing as it tasted more like a powdered sugar drizzle rather than a cream cheese frosting, but who knows. That was just preference. The omelette was good although the ranch potatoes plated with it were cold. Couldn't track down the waitress each time we were going to so we decided to let it go and sorta just picked at everything. My friend had a side of bacon that she asked for "crispy" and it came out limp. All in all it was "okay" and I do appreciate the service when it was there although the food wasn't spectacular. Kindness earns it 4 stars but food was 3. Clearly they have a lot of patrons and returning folk who think they are amazing, so I'm glad they are doing well otherwise! read more
