I have been coming to Z Cafe for many years now, and it is not only one of my favorite places for sandwiches, but also one of my family's favorites. The sandwiches are amazing. One of my favorites that they offer is the Manhattan Club. I have also had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Everything tastes fresh and is loaded with flavor. They also have great salads and side dishes. Their potato and macaroni salads are among my favorite side dishes. They also have a nice selection of drinks. Some of my favorite beverages are their lemonades, smoothies, and coffee. The service is friendly. Every time I have walked into the building, someone at the counter has always greeted me with a warm smile and asked me how my day was going before I placed my order. I also like the atmosphere. A nice place to relax and enjoy your meal. Their portion sizes are also big for the price. I've been here twice for a sandwich and have always been impressed with how good their food is. I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich on sourdough, and it's so good, I'm afraid to order anything else. It is perfection... the bacon is crispy and appropriately salty; the chicken, lettuce, tomato and ranch all complement each other nicely. The kicker is the chipotle sauce they apply. It's almost like a hot honey or something. It adds the perfect balance of sweet to the savory saltiness. Plus, I love how they grill the bread lightly. It adds the slightest little toasty note and crunch. I'll be back to try the Italian Wedding soup if it is the featured soup of the day. It was highly recommended by a neighborhood regular who eats there essentially every week. This sandwich experience restored my faith after I had a sandwich half as good for twice the price the week before at a competitor which, for now, shall remain nameless. Came back again and still a Really great place for lunch! I ordered the half sandwich- chipotle chicken salad, and the half chef salad. Seriously so good! The chipotle gave the chicken salad a nice flavorful kick and it even came with avocado, which is usually an added item that is extra. The chef salad beats panera or kneaders or any of those places. They give you a lot and fill the salad with toppings. And its good! Its definitely filling and the portions are fulfilling. A lot better than the tiny salad to go portions panera gives you with two tomatoes and chunky ranch dressing (sorry panera). My favorite sandwich place in Arizona!! I love getting the chicken z light every time with a side of potato salad. They have the best potato salad in Arizona, savory not sweet and oh so tasty!! This place is very unassuming in a strip mall. I would have never guessed to stop here had I not searched breakfast burrito and their menu popped up as a close by option. So glad that it did. I got the chipotle burrito for myself and the Irwin for my husband. All I can say for husband is I set it down, looked up and it was gone. He devoured it and said it was really good. For me, once I was able to eat (we ordered to go) I understood why his was gone so fast - it was delicious. Everything inside was flavorful and cooked perfectly. It was toasted on a panini press I believe. The price was beyond reasonable for the quality that you get. I know places that charge double and are half as good if not less than that. I do not like to give negative reviews! More often than not if I don't enjoy an experience at a restaurant, I will leave no review whatsoever as opposed to leaving a negative one. With that said, I did not have a negative eating experience, I stepped up to place my order and ordered the Rhiannon and the individual who took my order indicated that it was an excellent decision. I waited for quite some time as it was busy, but that is what that is. The sandwich was fine . The potato salad was fine. The several times that I have had Z-Cafe mine and bf's favorite has been the Dylan sandwich: Chicken, Bacon, Monterey Jack, Green Chiles, Ranch & Chipotle Sauce. One of their most popular sandwiches and for good reason! A MUST GET!! As for the sandwiches I've had, they've been good but not as memorable. The chipotle chicken salad was good! Enjoyed eating breakfast here this morning. They were the only ones around here open at 7am. Workers greeted us with a smile. Had the omelet with mushroom bacon and spinach. The egg was fluffy and soft. But wish had less bacon and more mushrooms and spinach. The bacon, mushrooms and spinach were all made earlier and kept warm. However it came with toast which was nice. the café has always been one of my staple favorites, but there's some things that have been bothering me with my last three orders, we ordered sandwiches and they both say they come with lettuce instead we get mixed greens which totally changes the flavor of the sandwich. My son always gets a side of fruit, which the last two times was just watermelon. I don't think you should say a side of fruit if you're gonna give watermelon... there's practically no nutrition in watermelon. I'm late on posting this by many months. Since last summer, I've ordered from this place via door dash. I mostly prefer the Turkey bacon sandwich and change the bread to jalapeño wrap, or croissant . I usually only like my potato salad but I really love theirs. I've ordered from her anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week, when lazy or no time to meal prep. The food is all great! The soups are also very good. I've only been inside the place twice, it's small, maybe seating for 25. Is my favorite place to order from and have shared my find weird my coworkers. This is the only place in town where I can get a breakfast burrito that isn't full of potatoes. Most breakfast burritos are 85% potatoes with a little bit of protein. However these breakfast burritos are 85% protein with a little bit of vegetables. I really love the Chipotle breakfast burrito because it's not too hot and the cream cheese makes a melty creamy deliciousness. I don't even use the salsa for the burrito cuz it's so good. I use the salsa later for something else. Everything else they make is delicious too it's just I don't eat bread. So they have these amazing sandwiches for those people who are not doing keto. They also have really amazing salads, I recommend the Caesar salad add chicken add cucumber. There are so few places in town that you can go and get something that will work with your keto diet that I have to give a major shout out to z Cafe for giving me at least one place I can eat when I'm too busy to cook for myself and I have to run errands. What I do is I order online so it's ready for pickup by the time I get over there then I can eat on my car while I'm running my other errands. Anyone else who works 80 hours a week can appreciate what I just said. For people who want the dine-in experience it's totally cool it's just like Cafe style seating inside and they have these really yummy smoothies with real fruit -- if you're into sugar. If there are any other keto friendly breakfast places in town please let me know. As far as I know this is the only place, besides "First Watch" from Phoenix to Mesa to Gilbert to Tempe to Scottsdale to Glendale. And the "First Watch" breakfast burritos are full of potatoes, just like everywhere else. So you have to get something else at First Watch. I wish people would realize that breakfast burritos could be healthy if they just didn't stick a whole bunch of potatoes in them, but we live in Arizona so Z-cafe is as good as it gets. read more
