This place is very hit or miss lately. Ordered two sandwiches and both sandwiches were made wrong. They totally ignored our requests to omit avocado from one sandwich and omit tomatoes from the other. Order ticket even says "no avocado" and "no tomato". First time trying Dilly's and I was pleasantly surprised. It's hard to find a decent sandwich shop, so far we haven't had much luck. Staff were very friendly and the place was busy during lunch time so usually that says plenty. The Reuben was tasty, definitely not the best that I've had but I would get it again. The cheese wasn't melted enough and I asked for an extra side of thousand island dressing, so they didn't put any on the sandwich. Just little things that weren't done right. I tried it on their focaccia bread. Loved the rosemary flavor and it was a lot thicker and softer than your usual focaccia. I prefer the more dense and crunchy kind but that's just a personal preference. Their restroom was clean but when you open the door to the back, it smells foul. Almost like a sewer smell, very off putting when you are about to eat. Overall not a bad experience. read more

The sandwich was exactly what I wanted but it was a little lean with meat and I definitely didn't get the extra cranberry I requested. The Wisconsin cheese soup was amazing. The perfect consistency with great flavor. The inside of the bread bowl was soft and doughy and the bread pieces dipped in the soup was comforting. The best part was when I was finished the inside of the bowl had soaked up that soup and was a pleasant soggy mess. Oh so good. I'd definitely order from here again when in the Tempe area. For the price though I think another slice of turkey and more cranberry would have made this an excellent dining experience. read more

They were quick to bring us our food, but brought my friend the wrong soup, which they were nice and quick to remedy. The cost for both of us to get half a sandwich, a bowl of soup, and a drink each was over 40$ with tip and tax. While the food was very good, the total was about the same as going to a sit down restaurant and getting a full meal. If you've got the money to spend it's a tasty spot for sure though, personally I'm not sure the price is justifiable. read more

Love this spot for a sandwich and soup experience! I went with the 1/2 Smokey Mountain sandwich and Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup bread bowl, my favorite combination here. That soup....its just so good! The Russian Mustard adds sweet and tangy to the smokey bacon on the sandwich and....damn...typing that made me want another one now. I may or may not go back in, I need to consult with my stomach storage manager. Lots of seating available inside, some outside, and the service is done with a smile, and the place is clean. We used to LOVE DD! Went in on Saturday to order a couple sandwiches to go. We live about 15 min away. I asked for no red onions multiple times when ordering. Got home and opened it up, ready to devour it, and immediately smelled red onions. Gross! It's like they were greeting a new customer. "We'll have that right out for you". No apology for the mistake, or even the inconvenience of getting all the way home and having to go all the way back!! Even when they handed me the bag, nothing. The manager even overheard everything and just stood back, chatting with the girls behind the counter. What the hell does a person have to do to get good service and accountability? I didn't even make a fuss, or ask for a refund. Some empathy and an apology would have gone a long way. I'm done. I rolled into Dilly's Deli With my two buddies, and my three new friends. We for sure got really silly in the dilly dilly. If you allow me to be honest, I will say I haven't had a sandwich as good as this one in a long time, longer than a lot of you who are reading this have been alive probably. I am not saying that out of disrespect for your age, more respect for dilly dilly. The sandwich I was eating was one of those sandwiches that you start chewing on it and you kinda hope you never have to swallow because you just want to keep chewing on it because it taste so good but in your eyes it will taste even better when you do swallow and then you get confused but the things that you aren't confused about is how yummy yummy this sandwich is from the deli deli. So we got to eat at our new friends house that was really nice because they had grass and so he took off arches and we stayed in the grass. Highly would recommend us after a sandwich from the deli deli. Also, our three new friends were great company. We used to live near this shop, and I was pleased to see that it was still here as I was in the mood for a cold sandwich. Dilly's is in a strip mall that can easily be missed if you're not looking for it. When you walk in, there is plenty of seating with a few tables outside as well. As you scan the menu that you can see they have classic sandwiches and signature sandwiches. They also have meals available where you can do a full or half sandwich with a soup or salad. Their soup choices are Cream of broccoli, Cream of potato, Wisconsin cheese, Boston clam powder, creamy, chicken noodle and tomato bisque. The cream of broccoli was delicious. I also enjoyed some potato salad with my sandwich. I ordered the Dilly Bird which consisted of turkey, avocado, cream cheese, with sprouts and mayo. They give you your choice of six different breads, which is really cool. I ordered mine with sourdough and it was absolutely delicious. read more

We made a trip out to a fish store in the area and the kids were hungry so I decided on a quick Yelp search for dinner. Dilly's Deli was close by and we always love a good sammy. The place was easy to find and was nice and clean when we walked in. The girls working were very friendly and patient while we decided on what to order. Hubs and I split the gobbler sandwich and our son got one as well. Our daughter wanted Mac n cheese with fruit. Their menu is simple with sandwiches, soups, salads and sides. They have a few options for bread which we all chose the sourdough hoagie. The food was made quickly and we ate at the restaurant. The bread was soooo soft and fresh. The meat and veggies were fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are a good size and we all were full off a 1/2 sandwich. Our daughter loved the Mac and cheese and said the fruit was really good and sweet. Overall, this place was amazing for a quick yummy dinner. And not just *any* sandwich spot. My girl Lizzo donated Dilly's Deli sandwiches to our hardworking healthcare workers earlier this year and that's enough reason for me to support this place! That and I had just had some dental work done across the street at Dr. Reidhead's. I got myself a Potato Soup and a Chicken Salad Sandwich with lettuce, sprouts, cucumber, and avocados in it. Everything tasted amazing! That homemade chicken salad was insanely refreshing. I enjoyed the dill and the bites of celery in it. As for the soup, it was warm and comforting. I topped it off with some cheddar from the fridge and it was delicious. I also appreciated that a lovely friendly lady from Dilly's Deli called me to make sure my order, placed on the Yelp app via GrubHub, was correct --- which it wasn't since it was my first time ordering from here, haha! I like the consistency of Dilly's Deli. Their sandwiches are always good. I tried many of their sandwiches, but I always find at restaurants that there is always one entree that captures my heart and mind. I love the Dilly Bird at Dilly's Deli. I think it is probably their namesake sandwich. However, I would love to try every sandwich on their menu eventually. I like that the white bread comes out slightly crispy on the outside, but soft on the inside. They also have other options for the bread. They have a freestyle coke machine at this location, which I think is fun. The freestyle coke machine allows you to add different flavors to the drink. The noise of the restaurant was low, which I liked. I don't like when restaurants are too loud because then I can't hear my lunch companion. The inside of the restaurant was also relatively clean.
