    Italian Chicken Melt Panini
    Hannah B.

Good, simple food made by nice people. I got the italian chicken panini and enjoyed it. The sandwich was a good size and filled me up without leaving me stuffed. I liked that they served it with a pickle. I will replace the sun dried tomatoes with fresh tomatoes if I remember to next time I go. Just personal preference.

It was too late but I got the chicken club and it was amazing!

This place was so good! I had to get a few sandwiches to go. Will definitely make it back over here.

This was a random find and well worth it. We were in a large vehicle and finding a place to pit stop was easy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thankfully, they also have clean restrooms![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have a large selection of sandwiches and wraps to choose from. I enjoyed the veggie sandwich. Great for breakfast and lunch. Also, it's always nice to support small businesses with a family atmosphere.

Came in today and got the lunch combo! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside had lots of seating and no wait to order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was efficient and helpful! And the sandwich was very good. Got the lunch combo which includes sandwich/chips/drink and it came out to $13 and change. Would recommend anyone looking for a yummy sandwich!

If you're in the mood for a filling & delicious sandwich than this is the spot for you! This little hidden gem is the real deal. They are flavorful and my sandwich is always perfect! They have desserts and sides that are very tasty too. Not only is the food delicious but the treatment of the customer is superb. Always feel welcomed when we come here .

A friend and I met here for lunch before a work meeting. It was our first time there. Luckily we got in just before the lunch rush at 12. The food was great! I swear, this was the best sandwich I've had since moving to AZ 3 years ago. The ambiance was just as expected for a cute lunch break sandwich shop. It got crowded quickly but we didn't feel rushed by it. Definitely will be a stop for me every time I have afternoon meetings at our main office moving forward. Also, get the cheesecake, it was so yummy!

Gimme a break, Gimme a break, Break me off a piece of that...pa-NI-NI bread? Lunch break is my quick fix when I'm in the office and the hanger starts to set in around 10:30-11:00ish. It's open early (7am) so I don't have to wait if I have skipped breakfast either. Now that's sweet. Especially when I'm super agitated and about to break someone off something proper-like, ya know?! Ha ha! It's mostly a sandwich joint, but they also serve breakfast and salads too. I've been all about their Reuben sandwich and their buffalo chicken wrap lately. Both are made to order, and if I ask for extra thousand island or sauce, they never seem to up-charge me, which is always appreciated! The folks that run this little business on Roeser Road are very sweet and you can tell it's a family operation. It's located just off the beaten path, but near enough to my office that I'm hardly missed when I have take a quick break. Overall, their portions are decent, it's clean and bright, and the food is fresh, so it's easy for me to feel good about supporting this establishment! Heck, I'll probably see you there on my next break!

The croissant; buttery, airy, soft yet crispy. You literally cannot go wrong here. You could tell everything was made with love and passion. I came to JL Patisserie expecting to spend five minutes picking up sourdough starter…read more Instead, I found one of the busiest--and most impressive--Saturday morning bakeries I've visited in Phoenix. After searching online, I called one of JL Patisserie's other locations to ask whether they sold sourdough starter. The employee told me to head to the South 24th Street bakery because it was the location selling fresh starter that day. As someone who's just getting into sourdough baking, I really appreciated being pointed in the right direction before making the drive. When I arrived around 7:45 on a Saturday morning, the parking lot was overflowing. After circling for several minutes I finally found a spot, only to discover a line nearly reaching the door. Normally that might discourage me, but after walking inside it became obvious why so many people were willing to wait. The first thing that surprised me was the bakery itself. From the website, I had expected something that felt a bit older. Instead, the interior was bright, clean, modern, and beautifully designed. The open bakery, sleek white finishes, updated equipment, and thoughtfully arranged displays immediately gave the space a polished feel while still feeling warm and welcoming. The pastry case was just as impressive. There were rustic artisan loaves, oversized cookies, cinnamon rolls, pecan sticky buns, savory pastries, specialty Cruffins like the Banana Dulce de Leche and Cherry Cereal, along with a seasonal drink menu featuring items like the Biscoff Cookie Cold Brew, Hawaiian Latte, and Strawberry Cloud Matcha. Everything looked fresh and intentionally displayed--it was honestly difficult to decide what to order. I originally planned to leave with only the sourdough starter, but ended up adding the Quiche Lorraine, which was excellent once I got home. The crust stayed wonderfully flaky, and the filling was rich and flavorful without feeling overly heavy. The staff made an already great experience even better. They patiently answered my beginner questions about caring for sourdough starter and never made me feel rushed, despite how busy the bakery was. My total came to roughly $22, including the quiche, sourdough starter, tax, tip, and I walked away feeling like it was an excellent value for the quality of the products and service I received. I'd especially recommend JL Patisserie for adults looking for a leisurely morning coffee or pastry, anyone interested in artisan baking, or those wanting something beyond a typical neighborhood coffee shop. Families are certainly welcome, but this is an order-at-the-counter bakery that can get quite busy on weekend mornings, so arriving early is probably your best bet. I came looking for sourdough starter and ended up finding a bakery I'll be making excuses to return to. Places like this are more than just somewhere to grab breakfast--they become part of a neighborhood, bringing people together over good food and good conversation. It's easy to see why JL Patisserie has developed such a loyal following.

Afterwards, he mentioned that he tasted it and agreed about our comments- I appreciate that level of attention. Shortly after, the food arrived. Spicy pork tacos for me, and BLTA for my wife. The tacos looked a little overdressed. I was so wrong. Flavor and texture were balanced perfectly. The tortillas were firm, but again, perfectly suited to the juicy pork, that had a teriyaki vibe. Sprouts, carrot and cucumber toppings worked well, despite my expectations. The BLTA was HUGE. Great flavor. Both entrees were ordered with sweet potato fries. Unusual cut to them, but seasoned perfectly. I paired mine with chipotle aioli and ate every last one. My only complaint is that I'm only spending one evening in the Phoenix area, and won't be back soon. I would eat this food three times a week without hesitation.
