I was sitting at my doctor's appointment and started experiencing hunger pains. I opened Yelp on my phone and searched for nearby restaurants to try afterwards. Toasty & Sweet showed up on my radar. The food photos caught my attention as well as the reviews. I clicked, 'Get Directions' and saved it until after my appointment. I drove the 15 minutes it took to get there via city streets. I walked inside and I was the only patron there. The place had only opened about thirty minutes prior. There was a female who I suspected was the owner and one guy behind the grill who was the cook. The owner asked if it was my first time. I replied it was. She then handed me a menu to browse through instead of the overhead menu. I decided on the Bulgogi Drop Toasty. It consisted of eggs, cheese, and bulgogi ( marinated Korean beef) in between Texas toast. When I received my order, I noticed I couldn't see the main ingredients similar to the photos I'd seen on Yelp. There was a lot of sauce compared to the photos also. I took my first bite and I got a lot of sauce with some Bulgogi and cheese. I made sure to include egg with my second bite. The egg was hot, moist, and plentiful. The bulgogi was a tad too sweet for me. I wish it had some caramelization for extra depth of flavor. The cheese was nicely melted. The Texas toast was perfectly toasted. All together this was still a pretty good Toasty. I plan to try the Shrimp Drop Toasty on my next visit and maybe their sweet treats! read more

I had the bulgogi drop sandwich and chocolate matcha dipped croiffle. First the croiffle: The croissant-batter waffle itself was good, as expected from a buttery croissant. The ingredients individually were fine, but all together, it was just too sweet, and I have a sweet tooth. It would have benefited from a savory Elmer to offset such sweetness, like a sausage or bacon. The bulgogi drop sandwich: The first few bites with all the sauces were fantastic; the sauce mixture really enhanced the sandwich. But after that first layer of sauces, there really wasn't any sauce left to offset the amount of egg in the sandwich. Same with the beef. Perhaps my expectation for drop sandwiches wasn't properly set, but I wish the sauces and beef would have continued throughout the entire sandwich. It was essentially a lot of piping hot scrambled eggs between two pieces of buttery bread. The combo did come with an option of fries or two mini egg rolls. I went with the egg rolls, which were not bad, but nothing to write home about. I would probably go back to try some of their other stuff, as the pictures do look appetizing, but I'm also probably not going back for a while, especially for the price.
