Good toasted subs! I remember back when this place first opened and man what a concept! It's still consistent and has yummy food! Pakalolo was the sub for me today - it was fresh and yummy and just enough (ordered the pinner!) read more

Came here for some dinner, and had heard some great things, so my expectations were high. They've got a great variety of menu items, which all looked good. The service was great, the guys behind the counter were super nice. I placed my order and we got it togo. The sandwich is a good if you're looking for a quick bite to grab. The sando wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the best sandwich I've ever had. It was toasted to my liking, I think I just was missing the flavor. Was looking for a punch of flavor in each bite. Again, not the worst sandwich, but not the best sandwich. I think next time I'd go with something that had a bit more sauce. Service was great, and there was lots of seating as well. Great variety of chips. And quick in and out. read more

I needed a salad in the desert and found this place. The beer was nicely priced to boot. The cashier who took my food order was so nice and helpful. The person who brought out the food had great service. The bartender was very prompt. The vibe is controlled chaos and I am here for it! read more

By far one of the best sandwich places I've been to. Not only are the sandwiches absolutely delicious, but the atmosphere is so vibey. The entire restaurant is very inviting, laidback, and so chill. Of all the sandwiches being offered, the Kali Mist is king. A club sandwich, but made spicy?! Sign me up! And don't get mistaken either, these sandwiches arrive open-face, because they are too big to close. Haha, they are so damn good! Lastly, one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a restaurant: Kool-Aid... on tap. So smart. read more

Located in a small strip mall near campus, this spot has a great laid-back atmosphere and a visibly clean kitchen. While the app gave inconsistent pickup estimates (ranging from 5 to 35 minutes), the staff was friendly when we arrived. We did have a few order accuracy issues--wrong dressing and extra peppers despite asking for none--but the food itself was tasty. The bread was perfectly soft, and I'd definitely give them another shot. read more

Some of the tastiest sandwiches I've had. The Tempe location offers plenty of seating and bar area as well. Decor is definitely unique and makes for a good lunch spot. My favorite sandwiches are the KGB and the Jamaican Red. Both offer just the right amount of zing! The staff is friendly and welcoming. read more

11/23/25: I don't know what I like better: the sammies or the huge Rice Krispy treats. :-) I haven't been to Cheba in years, mostly because I try to avoid the ASU area when school is in session, but this particular day I wanted a great sandwich, from somewhere not overly-franchised (such as Jimmy John's or Jersey Mike's). Cheba did not disappoint. I had the Pakalolo & it was just as delicious as I remembered from years ago. A couple weeks later we didn't feel like making dinner so we stopped in again; this time I ordered the 5-0. Once again, another delicious sandwich. From the decor, to the food, to the staff, Cheba Hut is a delight. read more

By popular team vote, my work chose this place to cater to our office day. Nothing against my team but personally, sandwiches are not exciting but I kept an open mind as I've never had Cheba Hut before. My initial reaction of disappointment proved to be right when I got to sample a sub. The catering order of subs were what I believe to be 12 inch subs that are cut in half and I ended choosing a half White Widow (6 inch sub). It was not bad flavor wise but there was nothing extraordinary. It was also very messy and started to break apart the more I ate because it was so soggy. I'm not sure why my team mates were so gung-ho about Cheba Hut. I feel that Jimmy John's and Firehouse Subs is way better. I'm just glad I didn't pay for this myself because I would have been really unhappy. There is a location kind of in the area of my home but after this experience, there is no way I would go out of my way for it. I can't speak to the customer service aspect as I was not the one who placed the order or picked it up but I will say that I appreciate our order being ready at the scheduled time and the nice packaging. read more

I'm a GM at a Nevada Cheba Hut. Decided to make my pilgrimage to the OG Hut! Did not disappoint! Ariela and Talia were amazing leaders in the shop and made us feel very welcome. I've left a couple of not-so-great reviews in the past year--not out of spite, but because I genuinely believe this place has so much potential and had fallen short. That said, I owe a big apology because tonight reminded me why I loved it in the first place. Jaden was an absolute legend--personable, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything was spot on. You could tell he cared, and that made all the difference. This place is officially back as my go-to. I'm really glad I gave it another shot. Jaden, thank you for the smooth service, good vibes, and keeping the beer coming. And to Cheba, my bad for the past reviews--this one was a whole different level. read more

Even I, who isn't a fan of toasty breads, unless it's toast, couldn't speak ill of Cheba Hut. I would go into the same long stories that I go into every time I step foot in here. My "back in the day" stories. Every time. I was in a few months ago and met with a friend, I believe they've made changes since then. And even more different from way back. Foods on point. They're totally toasted, that's always been the thing. If you're not into that, give em a try anyway. I went with the power plant with jalapeno cilantro hummus. I'd do it again. Although I'd be bound to indulge in so many others. Mmm. Went with a pinner could have had a blunt for sure. There are shrooms under that bed of greens, pickle, onion, toms, a couple bells, guacamole, hummus. read more

The food here was amazing! Everything we got was oh so great! You would think, how great can a sub place be? But I swear to you I've never tasted such a flavorful, well combined flavors ever in a sub. I'm a pescatarian and got their tuna sub.... OMG. SO GOOD! Not any crazy overwhelming fishy smell or taste. My son is a carnivore and got their turkey club, or something like that and he devoured it in minutes. I also got a dessert to share with him. It was some peanut butter chocolate rice crispy ball thing, holy hell I was in heaven. Aside from the greatness of their food, the people/service was amazing. They were so nice, helpful, and it was just a great overall atmosphere inside there. Here's my only "WARNING" to the extreme right-winged, "anti plant" folks - They are very current with today's world, and do promote 420 and do bash Trump all over the restaurant. So if you are easily offended and want to allow stickers to influence your ability to get great food in a chill atmosphere, then perhaps this isn't the place for you, but if you are not close minded and can rise above stickers, indulge your palette with their amazing food! read more

Came in on a night that wasn't very busy, maybe only four other people near the bar area. Got two beers, one for me and one for my friend. Decided to head out to mill avenue. When I asked to close my tab the bartender told me "oh, it seems as though I gave your card to the wrong person. You'll need to cancel it. I'll give you a free drink next time you come in." ??? This is the best Cheba Hut to go to in the Valley. I have been to about three different locations so far and nothing compares to this one. The food always delivers, the people are friendly, funny, and welcome everyone--from office-goers on their lunch break to stoners venturing out for their nightly munchies. They are wildly involved with the community which cultivates such a lovely culture that makes for a wonderful environment to eat AND drink... yes.. you heard that correctly... as if it doesn't get any better this becomes a hidden gem on the weekends for a brew and good music. The longest wait times for a sandwich you will ever experience. 45 minutes and counting...

This place was delicious. In my mind, I had imagined what I wanted from a sandwich. It was only a hope, an ambition, barely an idea. I ordered the Kali Mist, and lo and behold, what I was served was the exact kind of delicious sandwich experience I had been dreaming of. The guy behind the counter was nice and helpful, and the Duffman table icon on a stick was fun. I would love to go back. read more

There are only a few of theee sandwich shop locations, but this is the OG, the one that started their chain! I have been going there for about more than a decade now and what pulls me back is not just the quirkiness of the place with all its "blunt" names that are a double entendre, but also the real deal - the food. I have never had a problem with their food, no matter the number of times I have been there - no mixups, no order mess Dont expect great ambiance, but there will be good vibes all around. And the food Vs price is always a good value. read more

Love Cheba hut!Always good! Highly recommended and always a go to spot for lunch! Especially the Tempe location

Cheeba hut is DELICIOUS! I have been going here since way before they ever expanded and its still as good as ever! The serving sizes are generous and they have an abundance of sandwich options - there is something for everybody. I personally ask to have my sandwich serviced with "spring mix" vs the regular lettuce and I always have it "double toasted". If you get a sandwich that comes with lettuce, try this special request next time, I promise you wont be disappointed! Inside, the store is funky. They have tons of "stoner" decorations and stickers everywhere. Even the beverages are funny. By the iced tea they have a picture of "Ice T" and on the ice cube dispenser, they have a picture of "Ice Cube". Anyhow, it's a fun little place to visit and the food is always great. read more
