Super cool spot in the middle of Phoenix that you can stop at after a flight in. Parking is a little scarce but a lot of people come and go. The restaurant itself is small but they have a back lawn area with tables. Front service was quick and we got our food pretty fast too. Our food was good and we enjoyed the drinks. The *spicy Paloma was actually pretty spicy so I wouldn't recommend if you don't like it like that. The coffee cake was super dense also. I was in the neighborhood for an early morning appointment and decided to check out Ollie's! This place has been on my radar for a while and I'm glad I finally got to try it! There is a small lot to park in and since it was a weekday morning, I was able to grab a spot. The inside is smaller but still has a decent amount of seating options. They had a dessert case filled with so many delicious looking things and they offer breakfast/lunch items. There wasn't much of a line and I was able to order right away. The staff were nice. I decided to just get a coffee and I can't remember what I ordered, but it was good. I believe it was the brown sugar iced shaken espresso but it may have been the banana bread latte. Wife had a sausage and biscuit 7.5/10 . I had this banana cream pie 5/10 . I cant remember the name of my coffee but it had like some cinnamon on top of it , not great ,4/10 and I don't even remember the coffee my wife had some sort of lavender honey thing ,also not great 4.6/10 . A friend of mine suggested this spot for a mid-morning breakfast, and I hadn't been here in years so I agreed. I read that their parking lot fills up quickly but that there's a public lot across the street, so I parked there and crossed over. This cozy restaurant was fairly busy and we perused the pastry case while waiting in line, lots of tempting treats. My friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which are topped with blueberries. A lot of their menu items have pork in it, but they were good about substituting. The burrito usually has schreiners chorizo, hash browns, cheddar, sunny egg and chili oil with side of salsa verde. I asked for avocado instead of the chorizo. We brought our own drinks so didn't order any. We grabbed a table on their patio since the sun wasn't over our heads yet. It's nice out there and I think they have some fans going to keep the air flowing, and there was also a natural breeze. Our food came out and they were plated beautifully. My burrito looked good, but it had too much hashbrowns and also there wasn't any chili oil, which was a bummer. Maybe they normally put it on the chorizo so they forgot to add it to my avocado. The egg was runny which I like: The salsa verde was delicious; I love cilantro and it had great flavors. I tried the pancakes and they were fairly rich but I liked the tart lemon flavor and the blueberries, one of my favorite fruits. Portions are decent. We sat outside, which at noon in May is a bit warm, but we eventually moved to a shaded table and that was enjoyable. They have lots of fans and misters outside too. I also picked up a strawberry rhubarb and coconut rum cake for my parents. They loved the strawberry rhubarb, but they said the coconut rum cake was a bit strong on the rum (it tastes exactly like Malibu if you like that). Honestly the food was just ok, the almond croissant wasn't warm and thinking back on it, I would love to have been offered the option to warm it up. The almond croissant had quite a bit of a crunch to it and was pretty dry until you got like 3 bites in, would suggest you share it with someone as trying to finish it all by myself became overwhelming and I kind of got tied of eating it. The iced chai latte was just meh, the flavor just tasted off to me, not like chai. The quiche was absolutely delicious, didn't care for the 'side salad'. The lady at the counter told me there would be a side of bacon with my quiche, so I was a little disappointed when I saw the salad instead of bacon. How has it taken me so long to visit this place!??? Every time I come across it the reviews are so good I think I have to go, and yet, I only just did this last weekend and WOW. Definitely lives up to the reviews. This is absolutely a gem. There is parking to the right (if you're facing the building) and parking across the street. The parking to the left has tow signs and Ollie Vaughn's has a very helpful sign out front saying yes those businesses tow even when they are closed! Sooo I moved my car. There was a line of about 10-12 people but as others note, it moves pretty fast! As you come up to the pastry case, you're almost there, and standing there is the perfect time to pick some sort of sweet, which you absolutely should. Then you order and get a number sign and go find a table. If there's a big table and room, join some folks. We got the lemon cake and it came out first and made a great appetizer. Hey, it's fruit! Very moist and perfect sweetness level. My friend said it went great with tea -- of which they have a pretty large selection. Even though you order at front, servers do bring water out and your food and clear plates. They seem very on top of things! We both got the cast iron baked egg which was FANTASTIC and despite our hunger neither of us could finish. It's a lot and very rich. Ok and we had cake first. But it's soo good. I especially loved the mushrooms in it. It comes with plenty of delicious toasted "good bread" (I don't know what kind specifically but like good crusty bakery bread) for dipping in all the sauciness and yolk. Get the pork chile verde (Tiernan made the recommendation and it was perfect), quiche with ham, chive and Gruyère cheese, the blueberry and lemon loaf (I didn't taste the lemon which was great for me) and the strawberry matcha hot substitute with oat milk. Housed right in central Phoenix, OV offers brunch favorites and scratch-baked goods. It has counter seating near the window, five tables inside, and additional seating on the patio. We tried the OV Cookie which was delicious (I'd imagine even better if slightly warmed). The stars of the meal however were the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Tuna Melt. The pancakes were light with a hint of lemon in the batter, complemented by blueberries on top. The tuna melt was the best I've ever had, including green apples and dill for a nice sweet/savory taste. The Schreiner's chorizo in the burrito is some of the best I've had. Shout out to them. As for the burrito as a whole, the distribution was a little off but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd recommend going half sweet on your drink btw. The cardamom syrup in the dirty chai was pretty great, but the sweetness overpowered the espresso and chai completely. So, the parking is very small here and in a sketchy area. I came here on a Monday morning around 9am, all 20 parking spots were taken next door to it. I went to the other side but ALL the spots had signs saying it was for other stores so I had to park across the street which, if you're a woman walking by yourself, be careful. All their bakery items looked really amazing and fresh, it was hard to choose but I got an oatmeal cream pie, a sausage egg biscuit sandwich and a side of hashbrowns. The biscuit is gigantic, the cheese was very melty on there and the jalapeño jam on it was way sweeter than I thought it would be and they only gave me like a small dollop of it, the sandwich needed way more or maybe a runny egg instead of a scrambled egg. The hashbrowns were good, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And the cream pie was perfect, amazing whipped cream inside too.
