A friend of mine suggested this spot for a mid-morning breakfast, and I hadn't been here in years so I agreed. I read that their parking lot fills up quickly but that there's a public lot across the street, so I parked there and crossed over. This cozy restaurant was fairly busy and we perused the pastry case while waiting in line, lots of tempting treats. My friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which are topped with blueberries. A lot of their menu items have pork in it, but they were good about substituting. The burrito usually has schreiners chorizo, hash browns, cheddar, sunny egg and chili oil with side of salsa verde. I asked for avocado instead of the chorizo. We brought our own drinks so didn't order any. We grabbed a table on their patio since the sun wasn't over our heads yet. It's nice out there and I think they have some fans going to keep the air flowing, and there was also a natural breeze. Our food came out and they were plated beautifully. My burrito looked good, but it had too much hashbrowns and also there wasn't any chili oil, which was a bummer. Maybe they normally put it on the chorizo so they forgot to add it to my avocado. The egg was runny which I like: The salsa verde was delicious; I love cilantro and it had great flavors. I tried the pancakes and they were fairly rich but I liked the tart lemon flavor and the blueberries, one of my favorite fruits. This is a nice place to meet up (small groups) and I'm glad I visited again.
Came here for lunch with a friend on a Saturday, had a good time! (Drinks in photo not from here). I enjoyed my Cast Iron Egg dish, the shallot (or scallion) cream sauce was the secret winner, but I may want to try something new next time. My friend enjoyed the Pork Chili Verde dish. Portions are decent. We sat outside, which at noon in May is a bit warm, but we eventually moved to a shaded table and that was enjoyable. They have lots of fans and misters outside too. I also picked up a strawberry rhubarb and coconut rum cake for my parents. They loved the strawberry rhubarb, but they said the coconut rum cake was a bit strong on the rum (it tastes exactly like Malibu if you like that). Overall had a good time and would go back, staff was friendly despite it being busy.
Very solid casual breakfast/lunch place. Been wanting to try for awhile and we finally stopped in around 11am on a Sunday. It was busy but line moved quick. We got the peach danish, breakfast burrito and turkey club. Dare I say the turkey club was our favorite? The milk bread and ingredients were so fresh and yummy. Burrito was ok - not huge on chorizo & pastry was solid. We also got a cold brew which we enjoyed!
We ordered some food for takeout, and it was amazing for traveling 20 minutes. I'd be super excited to see what it tasted like served fresh. Flavor profiles were deep and robust, the portions were generous, and the food was high quality. The staff even allowed us to try a couple of their homemade bakery items. I can understand why this place always has a line out the door!
Breakfast burrito = BOMB! And the salsa with the burrito was also BOMB! Banana bread latte was okay for me but I'd love to try more of their coffees. Also the service was great! Very friendly people in the morning. I was only in and out for my breakfast so I did not get to experience much of the ambiance. I would like to go to eat there one of these days.
Slightly let down. I had been wanting to try this spot for a while. There was a bit of a wait and a line to order that stayed pretty constant the whole time we were there. The hostess was friendly and answered all my questions. The coffee itself was decent, but I didn't really pick up on the banana or brown sugar flavors. The banana bread was good but not memorable. My breakfast burrito was really good and I would recommend trying it. It had a slight spice that I really enjoyed. My fiancé got the biscuit breakfast sandwich, which was not great. The biscuit was dry and lacked flavor. Cute restaurant, but it fell a bit short for me.
What a cute little pick me up spot! I while I was doing my morning stroll and decided to walk in, and I'm glad I did! The vibes are so chill and I feel like you can come here and study and have a good thing to munch on and a good drink. I got a sugar free vanilla matcha and it was pretty darn good, I think next time I'll try their strawberry matcha and get something to eat! The workers were so sweet and I feel like they were all competing to see who could say good morning first. Very sweet and warm welcome.
My friend and I came for brunch Sunday morning and it was pretty busy. We waited in line to order at the counter and shared a table with 2 other nice customers as the seating was full. I got the cast iron baked egg and it was a solid dish, I liked that it was a bit different from a standard brunch offering. It's pretty minimalistic inside and there's a patio at the back but I didn't go out there since it was hot out.
What an amazing spot! We highly recommend trying it if you haven't. Concept: stand in line, order, seat yourselves. There is seating in the backyard which is very cute and shaded. We tried: brown sugar iced espresso 9.5/10 wish it was more coffee involved. Grapefruit tonic espresso 9/10 My husband loved it. Sunny burrito 10/10 The green salsa that comes with it is spicy but delicious Biscuit & Gracy with an egg added 8/10 Very flavorful but wish the plate was a flat one to where the egg yoke wouldn't mix with the gravy. Tres leches cake 10/10 It was perfectly moist not overly wet with the milk. (HUGE shoutout to Aisha, she found us the last piece of it) Cinammon Roll 8/10 The outside was crispy and the inside was moist. The only thing I will say that because it's so busy, we had to park across the street and it does take sometime for you to get your food. The food was hot when it got to us so it was literally only because of how busy they are. Overall, we are looking forward to coming back next time we're in AZ.
Get the pork chile verde (Tiernan made the recommendation and it was perfect), quiche with ham, chive and Gruyère cheese, the blueberry and lemon loaf (I didn't taste the lemon which was great for me) and the strawberry matcha hot substitute with oat milk. Everything was perfect! I did have to add a little extra strawberry syrup to the matcha just to amp the strawberry notes (thanks Izzy). The service was excellent and the ambiance was cute for both indoor and outdoor seating options. I sat at the high top facing the street and it was nice. Definitely going back when I am back in town. Check them out and enjoy!
How has it taken me so long to visit this place!??? Every time I come across it the reviews are so good I think I have to go, and yet, I only just did this last weekend and WOW. Definitely lives up to the reviews. This is absolutely a gem. There is parking to the right (if you're facing the building) and parking across the street. The parking to the left has tow signs and Ollie Vaughn's has a very helpful sign out front saying yes those businesses tow even when they are closed! Sooo I moved my car. There was a line of about 10-12 people but as others note, it moves pretty fast! As you come up to the pastry case, you're almost there, and standing there is the perfect time to pick some sort of sweet, which you absolutely should. Then you order and get a number sign and go find a table. If there's a big table and room, join some folks. We got the lemon cake and it came out first and made a great appetizer. Hey, it's fruit! Very moist and perfect sweetness level. My friend said it went great with tea -- of which they have a pretty large selection. Even though you order at front, servers do bring water out and your food and clear plates. They seem very on top of things! We both got the cast iron baked egg which was FANTASTIC and despite our hunger neither of us could finish. It's a lot and very rich. Ok and we had cake first. But it's soo good. I especially loved the mushrooms in it. It comes with plenty of delicious toasted "good bread" (I don't know what kind specifically but like good crusty bakery bread) for dipping in all the sauciness and yolk. All the food around looked delicious, even the breakfast sandwich looked amazing and I usually think that's a boring. Theirs doesn't look boring at all, and the quiches looked so good! I will definitely be back.
First time trying Ollie vaugh's and honestly, this place will be one of my go to spots and also a place where I can recommend everybody to try out. It is truly amazing. By far, one of the best turkey clubs I have ever tried. I'm honestly rating this sandwich 9.5/10! And also to by far one of the best lattes, I've tried I'm obsessed with vanilla and honey lattes and this one just seems to be perfected. They offer a ton of pastries, which are also really good! They also have probably one of the best tasting biscuits and gravy(I couldn't take a pic. It was too good.) They offer indoor seating and outdoor patio space. The music is also a vibe The staff here is really friendly!! If you're in town check this place out it won't disappoint!
Small indoor seating but fans and misters outside. Went mid morning on a Friday and it was popping. Egg skillet was great flavors but the egg was overcooked. Carrot cake didn't make it for a photo (clearly we were hungry for our breakfast appetizer) - it was ok but kind of dry. 2 egg breakfast looks sad on the photo but it's what we ordered. Croissant was decent but not the best - at least it wasn't par baked food distributor style so I'll take it.
Ollie Vaughn's is a cozy bakery meets brunch spot that is the perfect choice for a morning bite in the Phoenix area. To get here, there are parking lots nearby where you have to pay to park or street parking around the area. Inside, they have a nice setup with some seating and then an additional patio with more seating. Wifey and I ended up getting a spread consisting of the Sunny Burrito, Ham & Cheese Croissant, Lemon Bar, and a Strawberry Matcha. Everything we had was amazing and it was great fuel to start our day. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. read more
Super cool spot in the middle of Phoenix that you can stop at after a flight in. Parking is a little scarce but a lot of people come and go. The restaurant itself is small but they have a back lawn area with tables. Front service was quick and we got our food pretty fast too. Our food was good and we enjoyed the drinks. The *spicy Paloma was actually pretty spicy so I wouldn't recommend if you don't like it like that. The coffee cake was super dense also. Highly recommend coming here early and enjoying a nice breakfast/brunch. They close early and get packed so heads up! I was in the neighborhood for an early morning appointment and decided to check out Ollie's! This place has been on my radar for a while and I'm glad I finally got to try it! There is a small lot to park in and since it was a weekday morning, I was able to grab a spot. The inside is smaller but still has a decent amount of seating options. They had a dessert case filled with so many delicious looking things and they offer breakfast/lunch items. There wasn't much of a line and I was able to order right away. The staff were nice. I decided to just get a coffee and I can't remember what I ordered, but it was good. I believe it was the brown sugar iced shaken espresso but it may have been the banana bread latte. I can't wait to come back and try the lunch or breakfast. read more

Stopped here in a small time crunch while in the area for two nights. Upon putting this on our list of breakfast options, I looked at their menu, which of course was changed when we came here. Wasn't the worst thing but I would have liked to have the sandwich or burrito. Instead we got pastries and I an apple juice. The ham and cheese croissant was very good - tasted great and for its size had a nice filling of meat and cheese. The almond croissant was also very good and flaky while still being fresh. The main issue though was the timeliness of service. They took way too long for some pastries and a quiche. The quiche took forever. Would try it - hope the regular menu is back then read more

Sooo good, so cute, the perfect spot! There was a line out the door when we walked up Saturday morning, but it ended up moving quick and you order first before grabbing a table so that added to the line. It's busy for good reason because the food was delicious! We had the Sunny burrito and sausage biscuit sandwich and I'm still thinking about that sandwich every day!! They seasonal drinks as well which I loved and can't wait to come back and try new flavors. Food was out fast and service was kind and quick. Seating inside and outside on their patio in the back. Cool vibes throughout. We loved our breakfast here and this will be our new go to spot. read more

What a cute little breakfast/coffee spot! Went in on Saturday morning around 9am and it was very busy. Parking is quite tricky as they only have the one lot (east) right next to them, otherwise there is a parking lot across the street. The line was out the door to order but went by fairly quick. They have so many fresh pastries, desserts, cookie/cake options, hard to just pick one. Ordered their brown sugar iced espresso with oat milk and it was so delicious and perfectly balanced. The cashier was very nice as well. Got our number and sat ourselves outside at a table where then someone brought us some glasses and water. Ordered the 'sunny burrito' which was packed with lots of yummy filling. Savory, lil salty, cheesy, and the salsa verde on the side was quite the perfect combination. Also, ordered their chocolate chip cookie to go, which hit the spot for my sweet tooth. All of the staff were nice and pleasant, and checked in on us a few times. They had heaters outside too which was a plus! Overall I would definitely come back to try more of their delicious looking dishes/pastries. read more

There's nothing like a post-church service brunch! I stopped by here after a recommendation from my partner and was pleasantly surprised at how convenient the location was. Housed right in central Phoenix, OV offers brunch favorites and scratch-baked goods. It has counter seating near the window, five tables inside, and additional seating on the patio. We tried the OV Cookie which was delicious (I'd imagine even better if slightly warmed). The stars of the meal however were the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Tuna Melt. The pancakes were light with a hint of lemon in the batter, complemented by blueberries on top. The tuna melt was the best I've ever had, including green apples and dill for a nice sweet/savory taste. The service was phenomenal as all the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and checked on us anytime they walked by. Don't walk... RUN and try this place if you haven't already. read more

The ambiance was super chill, with great music that made the whole place feel relaxed and inviting. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Ordering is simple--you place your order at the counter, choose wherever you'd like to sit, and they bring the food out to you. I went with the Sunny Burrito, and it did not disappoint. It was packed with hashbrowns, chorizo, and a perfectly runny egg that tied everything together. Every bite was flavorful, and it was definitely filling. We enjoy coming here, and we bring our friends too! Love the baked goods that are always on display. They have different pastries, depending on the day, we've tried a couple of different ones. Service is always good, very attentive. Inside, you can sit and enjoy the "hustle and bustle" of their kitchen/café, but it is not overwhelming, nor extremely noisy. They have patio seating, with fans. You will find that it is always busy, and the parking lot usually is full. You can park right across the street from them. Recommended! read more
So, the parking is very small here and in a sketchy area. I came here on a Monday morning around 9am, all 20 parking spots were taken next door to it. I went to the other side but ALL the spots had signs saying it was for other stores so I had to park across the street which, if you're a woman walking by yourself, be careful. Anyway, it's a small place that fits maybe 35 people including the back and it's awkward waiting in line up front because there's not much room. All their bakery items looked really amazing and fresh, it was hard to choose but I got an oatmeal cream pie, a sausage egg biscuit sandwich and a side of hashbrowns. The biscuit is gigantic, the cheese was very melty on there and the jalapeño jam on it was way sweeter than I thought it would be and they only gave me like a small dollop of it, the sandwich needed way more or maybe a runny egg instead of a scrambled egg. The hashbrowns were good, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And the cream pie was perfect, amazing whipped cream inside too. I don't think I'd come back unless I can uber there and back. read more
I've been to Ollie Vaughns a few times now. It's always busy and bustling. This time I just stopped by for a coffee and got the seasonal Pumpkin Cajeta Latte. It was great! It's really ideal to sit down and enjoy a meal here, because they have a lovely little outdoor area. (Parking can be tricky, so getting there early might help you secure a parking spot.) read more

I was nearby hiking and decided to stop here for brunch. I heard so many good things about it. It was a simple process to order you go through a line and then you order and then they bring it to your table. It's a small place so it looks packed on a Friday. I ordered the club sandwich and my friend ordered the burrito. We also ordered some desserts and I also got a sugar cookie ice espresso. Overall, everything was great. Definitely would return here. read more
Love this brunch place! Although seating is slightly limited and service was a bit slow, it was worth the wait. Their breakfast items were very good as my favorite was the cast iron baked egg. The pastries were also so good, especially the tres leches and banana cream pie. read more

This place definitely meets the hype!! I wish it was closer to me because I crave the Sunny Burrito all the time. It's a bit messy to eat because the chili oil oozes out, but I love the spicy kick. It's probably my favorite breakfast burrito in AZ! I also really like the Cast Iron Baked Egg. It's super cheesy and flavorful. There isn't much parking nearby, so plan to walk a bit. There is seating both inside and on their back patio. The line can get very long in the morning, so I recommend going early. read more

Checked this place out for the first time today and it did not disappoint! I ordered the sweet potato latte with the marshmallow cold foam, 2 egg breakfast with hashbrowns, and shared a slice of carrot cake with my family! It was absolutely delicious and the service was great! Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant itself was so cute and unique, decorated with cool artwork. read more
I love this breakfast spot the only downfall is the parking other than that everything is sooooo good . I've been coming here for awhile and stopped and was amazed at home much more customers are in there ! I usually get their breakfast plate or their breakfast sandwhich this time i did not take a picture of my sandwich but let me tell you it was amazing lol . Happy we stopped by here yesterday at Ollie Vaughn's for some good breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The service was quick and they were so kind to us when we saw that the order was mixed up. It's a cute breakfast spot with pastries too. I enjoyed the sweet potato latte which is their fall drink special. read more
The food wasn't bad, it was good, but I've had better. I'd go back, so it was definitely worth the drive, but their menu is very small. They have a lot of different baked goods, almost more than the food options. There is also limited seating inside and there are some tables outside (back patio). Parking is very limited in front and the back lot is not for Ollie Vaughns. If worth going if you have been wanting to try it, but there are other places that are better. read more
Finally got around to trying this place and I'm so happy I did. We came around 10 am on a Saturday morning after a spin class so my friend and I were quite hungry! Luckily the wait was about 20 minutes so not too bad from what I've seen. The pastry case is beautiful with lots of options so I wasn't going to say no to a pastry --the coffee cake and blueberry muffin were wonderful! The sausage biscuit was great it had an awesome jalapeño marmalade on it! The cast iron baked egg was also delicious. Service was great and our food and drinks came out promptly --definitely will make a point to return and try out more of their menu. read more
Was welcomed with a nice hostess taking our order. I got a pork chili verde which was really good. The tortilla matched perfectly with it as well. The pork was so tender and juicy. Prob the best breakfast chili verde I've had. Also had a banana bread latte which was great. Would highly recommend this place! It is a little small so if it is raining it will be tight fit. read more

This place is so cute. The staff was super friendly. Very cute patio with the little fans to keep flies away was a nice touch. I had a chai latte with oat milk and the cheddar jalapeño bagel. read more
