I enjoyed my Cast Iron Egg dish, the shallot (or scallion) cream sauce was the secret winner, but I may want to try something new next time. My friend enjoyed the Pork Chili Verde dish. Portions are decent. We sat outside, which at noon in May is a bit warm, but we eventually moved to a shaded table and that was enjoyable. They have lots of fans and misters outside too. I also picked up a strawberry rhubarb and coconut rum cake for my parents. They loved the strawberry rhubarb, but they said the coconut rum cake was a bit strong on the rum (it tastes exactly like Malibu if you like that). The Schreiner's chorizo in the burrito is some of the best I've had. Shout out to them. As for the burrito as a whole, the distribution was a little off but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I'd recommend going half sweet on your drink btw. The cardamom syrup in the dirty chai was pretty great, but the sweetness overpowered the espresso and chai completely. Get the pork chile verde (Tiernan made the recommendation and it was perfect), quiche with ham, chive and Gruyère cheese, the blueberry and lemon loaf (I didn't taste the lemon which was great for me) and the strawberry matcha hot substitute with oat milk. Everything was perfect! I did have to add a little extra strawberry syrup to the matcha just to amp the strawberry notes (thanks Izzy). Slightly let down. I had been wanting to try this spot for a while. There was a bit of a wait and a line to order that stayed pretty constant the whole time we were there. The hostess was friendly and answered all my questions. The coffee itself was decent, but I didn't really pick up on the banana or brown sugar flavors. The banana bread was good but not memorable. First time trying Ollie vaugh's and honestly, this place will be one of my go to spots and also a place where I can recommend everybody to try out. It is truly amazing. By far, one of the best turkey clubs I have ever tried. I'm honestly rating this sandwich 9.5/10! And also to by far one of the best lattes, I've tried I'm obsessed with vanilla and honey lattes and this one just seems to be perfected. They offer a ton of pastries, which are also really good! How has it taken me so long to visit this place!??? Every time I come across it the reviews are so good I think I have to go, and yet, I only just did this last weekend and WOW. Definitely lives up to the reviews. This is absolutely a gem. There is parking to the right (if you're facing the building) and parking across the street. The parking to the left has tow signs and Ollie Vaughn's has a very helpful sign out front saying yes those businesses tow even when they are closed! Sooo I moved my car. There was a line of about 10-12 people but as others note, it moves pretty fast! As you come up to the pastry case, you're almost there, and standing there is the perfect time to pick some sort of sweet, which you absolutely should. Then you order and get a number sign and go find a table. If there's a big table and room, join some folks. We got the lemon cake and it came out first and made a great appetizer. Hey, it's fruit! Very moist and perfect sweetness level. My friend said it went great with tea -- of which they have a pretty large selection. Even though you order at front, servers do bring water out and your food and clear plates. They seem very on top of things! We both got the cast iron baked egg which was FANTASTIC and despite our hunger neither of us could finish. It's a lot and very rich. Ok and we had cake first. But it's soo good. I especially loved the mushrooms in it. It comes with plenty of delicious toasted "good bread" (I don't know what kind specifically but like good crusty bakery bread) for dipping in all the sauciness and yolk. All the food around looked delicious, even the breakfast sandwich looked amazing and I usually think that's a boring. Theirs doesn't look boring at all, and the quiches looked so good! Parking is quite tricky as they only have the one lot (east) right next to them, otherwise there is a parking lot across the street. The line was out the door to order but went by fairly quick. They have so many fresh pastries, desserts, cookie/cake options, hard to just pick one. Ordered their brown sugar iced espresso with oat milk and it was so delicious and perfectly balanced. The cashier was very nice as well. Got our number and sat ourselves outside at a table where then someone brought us some glasses and water. Ordered the 'sunny burrito' which was packed with lots of yummy filling. Savory, lil salty, cheesy, and the salsa verde on the side was quite the perfect combination. There's nothing like a post-church service brunch! I stopped by here after a recommendation from my partner and was pleasantly surprised at how convenient the location was. Housed right in central Phoenix, OV offers brunch favorites and scratch-baked goods. It has counter seating near the window, five tables inside, and additional seating on the patio. We tried the OV Cookie which was delicious (I'd imagine even better if slightly warmed). The stars of the meal however were the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Tuna Melt. The pancakes were light with a hint of lemon in the batter, complemented by blueberries on top. The tuna melt was the best I've ever had, including green apples and dill for a nice sweet/savory taste. The service was phenomenal as all the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and checked on us anytime they walked by. Don't walk... RUN and try this place if you haven't already. read more

So, the parking is very small here and in a sketchy area. I came here on a Monday morning around 9am, all 20 parking spots were taken next door to it. I went to the other side but ALL the spots had signs saying it was for other stores so I had to park across the street which, if you're a woman walking by yourself, be careful. Anyway, it's a small place that fits maybe 35 people including the back and it's awkward waiting in line up front because there's not much room. All their bakery items looked really amazing and fresh, it was hard to choose but I got an oatmeal cream pie, a sausage egg biscuit sandwich and a side of hashbrowns. The biscuit is gigantic, the cheese was very melty on there and the jalapeño jam on it was way sweeter than I thought it would be and they only gave me like a small dollop of it, the sandwich needed way more or maybe a runny egg instead of a scrambled egg. The hashbrowns were good, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. And the cream pie was perfect, amazing whipped cream inside too. This place definitely meets the hype!! I wish it was closer to me because I crave the Sunny Burrito all the time. It's a bit messy to eat because the chili oil oozes out, but I love the spicy kick. It's probably my favorite breakfast burrito in AZ! I also really like the Cast Iron Baked Egg. It's super cheesy and flavorful. There isn't much parking nearby, so plan to walk a bit. I can definitely see why the Sunny Burrito is the star of the menu and yes, they use real chorizo, which makes a big difference. I just wish the hash had a bit more crisp to it and the egg had been slightly runnier. Overall, I'd give it a 7 out of 10. I really liked what they did with the space. It has that "dark sunglasses, cure-your-hangover, lazy Sunday at a friend's backyard" kind of vibe relaxed and effortlessly cool. Ollie Vaughns is one of my favorite gems for breakfast/brunch. Located on East McDowell it shares a parking lot with the uniform store and a few small shops. Parking is limited and it is unfortunate because it does steer people away or so I've heard. They have a nice patio when the weather is nice but not too much space for a large group. Their biscuits and gravy is outstanding. The counter is right as you walk in and sometimes creates a line. Some people behind me were frustrated because they drove around for parking and said they "needed to move their counter". Not sure that's possible or would matter in my opinion.
