I've eaten here more than a couple of times and they never disappoint. Place is small and clean. Food is great with good coffee.
Cute place with very friendly service. We stumbled across this when we were visiting Phoenix. They have patio and indoor seating. The food was top notch! I loved the Mexican Benedict, the chorizo paired so perfectly with the hollandaise sauce and the entire dish the just came together so well! My husband tried the tortilla Espanola which he devoured. We ordered the johnnycakes for the table, they were fluffy cornbread pancakes served with prickly pear syrup, just perfect! Can't wait to come back!
Had an amazing experience here this morning. We had a party of 13 people, and had not planned ahead on where to go for breakfast. We were in nearby Vovomeena, so I called and asked if we could come over short notice with a big party. The said yes and so we did. We were expecting to probably eat on the patio, but got tables inside together. And, our delicious, freshly prepared food was served to us very quickly. The service was great. The food awesome and the charm of this neighborhood hood spot was spot on. Definitely heading back soon
Vovomeena has been a part of our lives for many years. We had a tradition of taking our girls after the end of the school year and now my husband & I make our way there whenever we can since it's a bit of a drive for us but it is worth it!! Beautifully decorated & clean as you enter with clear signs for directions. Lots of inside seating & outdoor as well. The food has been consistently wonderful as I've tried several dishes but I keep going back to the Pain Perdu. It's big enough to share but why? The next day it's even better when all the flavors soak in....yum!! I'm not typically a coffee person however, the way they do coffee at Vovomeena, I make sure to order my own or get a flight. I love seeing the usual friendly faces through the years!!
Since my partner and I lived very close to this place, we decided to pay a visit, and got a pretty modest standard brunch before carrying on for the rest of our day. There were highlights and areas of improvement, and even if I probably won't return simply because I do not live in Phoenix, I do believe this place is a neighborhood gem in a good location for those that are looking for a good time with friends while having some food. Their menu on that day had smoked salmon benedict as an item, so I ordered that, and it was overall pretty salty. As much as smoked salmon should be salty, my opinion was that it was even saltier than what I considered it normally should be. The grits on the side barely had any flavor which was unfortunately a minus in this case. The hollandaise sauce on the top was the biggest highlight because it somehow provided a flavor balance for the dish. My partner had the biscuits and gravy, and didn't particularly enjoy it also because of the lack of flavor, in addition to the gravy being a little bit watery. Finally, maybe it's because of the specific donut we got, but the Portuguese donut was very dry and hard, so even eating it was a bit difficult, and the sweetness was just defined by the sugar on the surface. Neither my partner and I really got the hype for it. Even with these dishes that overall didn't work as well for us, I do notice many more dishes on their menu, so I have no doubt that people are able to find dishes that fit them. I would still recommend those around this area checking this place out.
Food was solid. I got the Blackstone scramble with a hot coffee. The coffee was decent, I like that the refill was self serve. I would like to go back and try their pastries they looked really good. The scramble uses pork shoulder and peppers and onions. The pork shoulder tasted just like ham which isn't a bad thing but it was not what I was expecting. Some small criticisms: The peppers could of been cooked a little more; the potatoes were pretty bland and could definitely be improved. Overall the flavor of the scramble was good and was a satisfying portion. Definitely would go back to try other things.

I love the blue color scheme inside. The service is fast and staff is nice. I ordered the Wilcox avenue: 2 eggs, herbed potatoes, buttermilk biscuit or toast and choice of meat. The eggs were done great! Not too overdone or watery. Like the potatoes with skin still on. The biscuit and bacon was my favorite! Biscuit was very fluffy and tasty and the jam was made from scratch. There is something about offering made from scratch jam that adds that extra touch. It was strawberry jam and ever so good. The bacon was cooked to my liking a little crisp but not too soft. I loved my plate. My boyfriend had the Mexican Benedict: poached eggs, chorizo, hollandaise on sopes, herbed potatoes. Plenty of chorizo and he definitely approved. Another thing to add to the aesthetics was the beautiful dishware. Looked like handmade ceramics. Very pretty. The water cups were a great touch, copper cups. There is plenty of to choose from. I definitely want to try their baked goods next time and pancakes. I definitely recommend for brunch/breakfast place.
My second time here and the food here is still amazing! Although slightly pricier than most brunch places, and you have to line up to order and find your own seat like a cafeteria, the food choices can't be beat. Noise level is a bit above average, not the place to bring your laptop to sip on your coffee... Lots of flies everywhere, recommend some kinda contraption to control it.

This is hands down our favorite breakfast place! I don't think we have ordered anything we don't like, but the blueberry pancakes are my favorite. My partner loves the jack cakes! I have brought countless friends to this place and it has never failed us, but the staff is so pleasant! Must try

The portions are incredibly generous, but it still feels like I paid too much for breakfast food (about or over $20/per person). The whole restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing. Overall, I had a good experience. I ordered the Johnnycakes because they sounded unique, and I like to order food that I've either never tried or can't make myself. These were kind of like a savory pancake and it was very good! Especially with the prickly pear syrup, but at some point the flavor of the syrup got to be overwhelming on the johnnycakes and I got over it about halfway through (but that's my fault for dumping it on there). I ate them with really good and juicy sausages and a side of sweet rice, which was kind of like oatmeal. I was surprised by it, but it actually wasn't that bad. Again, the food was good, but I won't drool thinking about it. It was just good!

Took my mom here for breakfast and it was a perfect choice. We shared the Tortilla Española (potato and egg Spanish omelette with brava sauce, arugula salad, and our choice of meat) and the Mexican Benedict with Schreiner's chorizo, poached eggs on crispy fried sopes, housemade hollandaise, and griddled potatoes. Both plates were impeccable - flavorful, beautifully prepared, and exactly as described. Manager Kaj greeted us at the register, took our order, and once again went above and beyond with his warm, attentive service. The space was clean, vibrant, and inviting. This spot got our morning off to a GREAT start! You grab a menu and look at it while in line, but the options are so many you won't know when you get to the register. Thanks to all of the great yelp photos, the winner of my "tournament of decision" was the Mexican Benedict. From there, I was able to step to the side to order and iced mocha before sitting down wherever we wanted. I think this is a great wrinkle because the food comes out quick and seats for most in line are available, like clock work. No one was standing around waiting for a seat even though the line was to the door when w got there. The Mexican Benedict was amazing, with a spicy chorizo along with the usual. I found myself savoring every bite, and the flavor was consistent. The manager was warm and informative to everyone eating, and we felt so enjoyable while we ate good food. Such a smooth and pleasant time before the day had turned epic. Such a great place to fuel up with good quality food and brunch energy! Well done, Phoenix!! read more
This place was such a pleasant surprise. It's tucked away in a plaza, that I don't think I would've found. Had my friend not wanted to come here. They have instructions that helped guide your time there that are really helpful. It's very clear that they do not want you to hold tables lol. Anyway, I got the banging pocket. It was a pretty big portion, and okay. I would've loved for it to be a little bit more cheesy. At first, I thought they were skimping with the meat, but after I ate about a quarter of it, there was much more meat. They have some baked treats near the register that I couldn't help but try, so I got the pineapple empanada. They also are pretty large. I really like the side of fruit and how they shred the apples on it.. It's so cute and fun. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich that was phenomenal, as well as a waffle that did not disappoint. The manager was ringing us up at the counter, and was really friendly and helpful as we ordered. We would definitely come again! read more

So excited that we came across a Facebook article saying people were driving over two hours just for the pancakes--Vovomeena's did not disappoint! The blueberry pancakes were hands-down the best I've ever had. The cashier clearly knew all the regulars and even asked how we heard about them. He was familiar with the article and mentioned they've had a ton of new visitors because of it, which was fun to hear. The setup is great: you walk in, place your order, then find a seat. Super easy and efficient. The entire staff was friendly, and our food came out quickly. Everything we ordered was delicious. Seating both inside and outside was very nice and comfortable. And honestly, the bathroom says a lot about a restaurant--this one had it all: clean, a candle, and great-smelling soap. That attention to detail really stood out. Anytime I'm in the area, I'll absolutely be stopping by Vovomeena's again! read more

2/7/26: what a cool place! Great food served by friendly staff. The parking could be a bit tricky during business hours (south lot & on the east side), especially if you have a gargantuan vehicle -- but don't let that stop you. We didn't see the front door at the patio area so walked in the "back" door on the east side of the bldg, ran smack dab into their drink station attendants. Ooops. So yes, they have a patio area that was fairly substantial & well shaded. It must be dog friendly, or someone just didn't give a sh*t & brought their dog anyway. You order & pay at the counter, then they seat you with a number stand. We ordered the savory crepes, Wilcox avenue, a Portuguese donut, plus an apple empanada. All of it was delicious & well plated. I wonder if we could have asked them to warm up the donut & empanada ... hmmm, next time. :-) I would highly recommend Vovomeena. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger from Terminator, "I'll be back". Oh, and their take-home containers are compostable. Love this. read more
The setup is semi self-service as they are a bit understaffed: you order at the counter, they bring the food to your table, but you have to pick up your drinks yourself. I think this would be different on the days when they are expecting more customers! As for the food--it was fine but the atmosphere has added a few points to it. Portions are generous, but the chicken burger was a bit under-seasoned to me. The blueberry pancake was what you'd expect from standard pancakes, fluffy and soaks up all the syrup. Overall, great spot for a relaxing brunch! read more
This was out first time here and we sat down for lunch, there was a great selection of breakfast items and the food was very fresh. I ordered the Willo Chicken sandwich that came with bacon and Swiss cheese, the chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the French fries were right amount of crispy. The portions were large. Parking was a little tricky since it is right off the freeway, and the lot it shared by 3 other restaurants but once you're inside it had a great ambiance. The staff was attentive and the service was quick. read more

The interior feels quite cozy, but larger parties may find it difficult to sit together as you have to grab a table after you order. read more

First time visitor and tried their daily special with chorizo sausage. While the scramble was good, the potatoes felt like and after tho it and could use a little more seasoning...for me. The coffee and Italian sweet cream was delightful. We received our food quickly and I would definitely visit this space again! read more
I came here with some coworkers on a Friday morning around 11am. I love the ambiance and decor of this place. The service was decent and the staff were friendly. My scramble was pretty good. It came with a waffle which was really good as well. I didn't get a picture because it smelled SO good when it came out that I started eating it immediately! The chicken sandwich looked amazing and my coworker said that it tasted the same. I'm not a big French toast person but if I were, I'm sure I'd love the ones my other coworker had. I will definitely be back because I have to get the chicken sandwich! read more

This place is great! My lavender vanilla latte was amazing. The Portuguese donut was unlike anything I've ever tasted--sweet but not too sweet and a wonderful texture--and worth a visit by itself. My friend loved the blackstone and the tri-tip Benedict was delicious. Service was fast and friendly and the place is super cute and welcoming with ample seating inside and outside. read more

My partner and I ate at Vovomeena for the first time a couple weeks ago. We went on a Sunday around 9:30am and while it was busy, there were still plenty of tables inside and outside available. The restaurant is counter-service so after you order you find a table and they bring the food out for you. We ordered the Tortilla Espanola and the Chorizo & Eggs. I also got a side of spuds. I thought the tortilla espanola was very good; definitely a unique menu item. The spuds were tasty as well. They weren't overly greasy like some breakfast potatoes are. My partner wasn't the biggest fan of his Chorizo & Eggs. He said the main selling point of the dish was the Schreiner's chorizo, but there was so little meat he didn't feel like it was worth it. Also, the tortilla on the side was cold. A warm tortilla would have been a better option. All-in-all it was a decent first experience and I would try them again at some point. read more

I love this place. Always quote regularly busy which says a lot about a place. Great service, consistently same staff, and amazing fresh food. I love love love the blueberry pancakes.
