    One of the bathrooms!

I come here just for the intergalactic, dance party bathrooms. The coffee is really good too. HA I love this place and I live no where near it, so when my job takes me to Phoenix, I have to pop in for an iced latte and a bathroom selfie. Great staff, huge menu, good snacks, and the ambience is like Quentin Tarantino movie, so much stuff to look at and play with. I am also a huge fan of any place that can serve coffee and avocado toast then pizza and beer when lunch time hits. If you have not been to Luana's you should go and Luana, please open up a part deux on my side of town!

I have been looking for a good comfortable old school Coffee House and ding ding. This is it interior cute, cool, comfortable. Lavender margarita good. The dirty chai and veggie pizza 10 flipping stars. Customer service very good and solid WI-FI. Fluffy Grandma recommends.

Fun little cafe' right next to Phoenix College full of killer hipster vibes! We knew we were in the right place as soon as we walked in! They have breakfast, sandwiches, salads, pizza, as well as lattes and beer. Beware, seating takes some patience, but the staff is very accommodating.

As a GCU grad, Luana's has been a go to for quite sometime (Trivia Thursdays!)! I live 20+ min away now, and I still find time to stop in for some coffee. I love the Luana's Signature Latte, and I get it every time I'm here (see photo)! Although, their vanilla matcha latte is yummy, too. I got my boyfriend a cold brew + whole milk. I recommend getting a sweetener or syrup to pair with that! We were working from Luana's for a bit, so we got a pepperoni pizza to have while we worked. It's a standard pizza in my opinion, but it tastes great paired with the dive bar ambiance! If you're feeling more of a pastry, their brownies are so rich and fudgey! Speaking of the ambiance, they are also have a bar with a nice selection of local brews, if you're going for more of that vibe! There's a pool table and decor that makes you feel like you're at your neighborhood dive! They play Arizona sports events on the TVs (they're huge Suns fans!), basically, at all times, which really brings the cafe's atmosphere together! I'll always be a Luana's supporter! :)

Unreal retro theme place. Whatever you want you can get. I usually go there for the coffee but once again, you can get lost in nostalgia with a well curated theme. Pizzas wooo. Sandwiches wooo. Breakfast wooo. Wait, beer? Uh huh. Whatever you want! Who could ask for a better place to be. Go at night and you'll be in for a treat! Also, who doesn't want to support a small business? Thanks Luana's!

Amazing place. Great staff great vibes. We came here to read and chill and this turned out to be such a fun place to do just that. They have couches which, to be fair need, to be replaced because they're extremely deflated and hurt my butt sitting on, or the cushions need to be replaced. But the space itself was a lot of fun. There's a bar where people can watch sports and grab a drink and chit chat or there's various tables, a few long tables tables that can fit larger groups of maybe 6-8 or there's smaller standard tables of 4 and some couples tables spread out in between. They've also got a board game shelf you can pick through too. They've got a dart board and a pool table but I think you have to pay to use those. Their bathrooms are sooo cool and a lot of fun to take pictures in so I highly recommend doing that haha. I greatly appreciate that they have parking!! I got their blue raspberry lemonade and that was yummy, it is on the sweeter side for a lemonade but I was in a sweet mood and it got my fixing perfectly. The music is a little loud if you're here for a calm reading session but if you don't mind I'd definitely recommend coming here. We're for sure coming back. We didn't get a chance to try their food but they do serve a full menu it looks like!

Beautifully curated interior vibes. Went here when it was more coffee shop in the daytime and would love to come back for a drink at night. Great place to hang out and do some work. Taking off a star only because my friend ordered a pizza and they forgot it not once, but twice. Granted, they did give her a free cookie the first time they realized and then a free drink the second time they realized . So I think that made up for it.

Awesome spot. Traveling thru Phoenix for the next week and glad to find this place as my first coffee stop. Not only great coffee, it has great food, the curried chicken salad is very good. On top of this it serves uo cocktails, has a pool table and a cool vibe with a laid back vintage feel. I plan to come back for sure.

Cute coffee! Cute drinks, comfy vibes and some really fun toilets. You can play pool and darts there too. Fast service and they even gave us some water after we finished our drinks. I will be coming back.

Luana's is a funky Phoenix favorite. Excellent food and coffee with super chill, quirky vibes. A great spot to hang with friends or study/work. As an evening coffee drinker, one of my favorite things about this place is their hours. You can get a coffee any time of day, even in the evenings. They have trivia nights every Thursday, a pool table, and plenty of comfy nooks to hang out. It's honestly hard to go wrong with any of their food or drinks. Service is fast, consistent and kind. Parking is a little funky, but not as bad as central downtown. Love Luanas!

By far, my new favorite coffee house in Phx! They do have a parking lot which is nice but the moment I stepped in, I truly said "Woah!" It's such a cool vibe inside and loved how cozy it felt. It's got that cool laid back feeling and great for wfh, studying, or catching up with friends. It does get loud so don't expect to take work calls here. I tried their matcha matcha man and it was nice earthy but sweet matcha latte. It had plenty of seating and pretty decent size menu for food items as well! Will definitely be coming back!

Stopped to catch up with a buddy. The ambiance and service were great, although it got quite loud. We ordered the espresso martini, BBQ chicken pizza, and chicken wings. The espresso martini was delicious. It was a very creamy texture and sweet flavor. The BBQ chicken pizza was a 10/10. The wings were ok. I'd order the espresso martini and pizza again.

I got the s'more chai and breakfast pizza. The service was great, love the atmosphere. The chai was not my favorite, I didn't finish it but I loved the breakfast pizza and it was so cool they could do a cheese-less version because I have a dairy allergy.

Luana's Coffee & Beer Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Luana's Coffee & Beer

Where is the decor coming from? I am obsessed with the whole vibe and feel of everything, from the random and mismatch seats to the small clowns.

Its collected! Whether personal collection, thrifted, or donated!

I had no idea you were open. The old sign for Mushu grill is still up. Are you putting up a temporary the sign? You're missing a lot of business.

Hi there we’ve been open now for a little over a month. Unfortunately our sign was delayed due to everything going on. But it is finally getting close to be done. We actually had a temporary sign out front but unfortunately with the homeless it only…

Are you guys saving money for a new sign lol?

    No lol.

Is this location open yet on 15th Ave. and Thomas? If not, when does it open?

Yes, the new location is now open!

Planning a bike rack soon-ish? I put my bike on the steps' railing -- lame. Ideally a real rack - maybe city will give free - not a 'please steal my bike but leave my front wheel' rack. :-D

Where's the best place to park when the parking lot is full?

Hiiiii there the best place to park is the neighborhood behind us. But! 3rd ave will be done this month finally and you’ll be able to park there very soon too!

Is this a good place to do some work for a few hours?

It's extremely loud with lots of music, a very upbeat environment. If you can focus with a lot of noise & chatter then maybe. If you're looking for a smooth, chill, relaxed space this is not it.

    Are they dog friendly?

    Yes

Do they have salads on their menu?

    They do have salads :)

    Is the outside seating dog-friendly?

    Yes! 🐶

We ordered a couple of sodas and the same slices we ordered last time, pepperoni and vodka slices. The slices were delivered in no time! They were hot and crispy! I don't know what happened, but the quality just wasn't there. I could not taste the sauce on my pizza. It was non existent. It was like eating pizza bread with cheese and pepperoni. The Vodka pizza had no detectable sauce on it either. It also tasted just like cheese bread. I don't know if its because of different pizza makers or the new standard, but I was disappointed. I was very impressed last visit and even made a statement that the Vodka slice may be my new favorite. I was a little let down this time around!

You can also get a whole pie of your choice. They grate fresh parm on all the slices which I thought was a nice touch. The girl at the register seemed very knowledgeable about all the pizzas and gave us lots of details and recommendations which we appreciated. First we got the green, di Parma, and the Phoenix. The green has pistachios and fresh arugula on it, I thought the overall flavor was too sweet and the pistachios weren't crush enough. The Phoenix was good, very honey forward and overall the flavor didn't stick out to me. The di Parma was a cheese pizza with procuttio and ricotta, overall a little plain to me. I think they all would've tasted better hot, but I understand that's not super realistic for a slice shop. For our second order we got the vodka sauce slice, which was for sure my favorite. First of all it was piping hot, and that elevated the whole experience. I thought the sauce was so flavorful and savory, and the basil made a perfect bite. I would go back for a whole pie of this! I really liked the prices here, we got dinner for less than $25 for 2. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some other slices and get a pie of the vodka!

I won't add to my previous review regarding the food, as it is still just as fantastic. And while the old location had its charm (mainly that it was more intimate and a bit quieter), the new location is overall an immense improvement. First of all, it is much larger, modern, and very tastefully decorated without losing as much of the intimacy as they could keep. For instance, the decor on the walls makes you feel like you are somewhat at home, with photos of the Spinato family and other tasteful finishes. Everything is comfortable without being too casual or formal. It's definitely more open concept now, and bar-lovers will appreciate the full bar, as the old location only had a tiny one. The covered patio area is much nicer, and with an eastern exposure, it should bake in the sun less than the old place's western exposure for most of their operating hours. We were seated at a half-booth, and the restaurant was very crowded because it was their first Friday night at this location. Nonetheless, we arrived early enough to be seated without a wait. I will say that the food took a very long time to arrive--40 minutes or more--but I'm chalking that up to the crowd and growing pains at the new location. Our server recognized us, welcomed us to the new place, and was as friendly as usual, though he didn't have much time for chat-chat with how busy they were. Very much looking forward to more visits to Spinato's at this fabulous new location!

Lil Capo Pizzeria 5.0/5 The Closest Thing to New York…read morePizza I've Found in Arizona Growing up in Upstate New York, I admittedly have high standards when it comes to pizza. After moving to Arizona in 2007, I've spent years searching for a slice that genuinely reminds me of home. While there are plenty of decent pizza spots throughout the Valley, very few capture that authentic New York style. Lil Capo Pizzeria absolutely does! Ironically, I first discovered Lil Capo after an Arizona Cardinals game. Like many people, I wasn't interested in paying stadium prices for mediocre food, so I jumped on Yelp looking for something nearby. Lil Capo had outstanding reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I'm glad we did because it's now my benchmark for New York-style pizza in Arizona. The first thing that stood out was the crust. This is exactly what a New York slice should be--thin, crispy on the bottom, slightly chewy inside, sturdy enough to fold, and never overloaded with grease. So many places think "New York style" simply means making a large slice. Lil Capo understands it's really about the balance of crust, sauce, cheese, and texture. Every bite reminded me why I miss pizza back east. The sauce has just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, the cheese is perfectly proportioned, and everything tastes fresh without trying to reinvent what already works. Sometimes simplicity executed well is the hardest thing to accomplish. Pizza: 5/5 Service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. After selecting our slices, they quickly reheated them to perfection and had them on our table within minutes. It's exactly what you want from a neighborhood pizzeria--fast, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable. Service: 5/5 I also appreciated the atmosphere. Lil Capo isn't trying to be flashy or trendy. Instead, it has that classic neighborhood pizzeria feel where the focus stays exactly where it should--on making outstanding pizza. It's casual, comfortable, family-friendly, and somewhere you could easily become a regular. The pricing is another pleasant surprise. Considering the quality of the pizza and the generous slice sizes, I found everything to be very fairly priced. Overall Finding authentic New York-style pizza in Arizona has been surprisingly difficult over the years, but Lil Capo delivers exactly what I've been searching for. Authentic New York-style crust Excellent sauce-to-cheese ratio Minimal grease Friendly, efficient service Fair prices Comfortable neighborhood atmosphere I've eaten pizza throughout New York my entire life, and Lil Capo remains the closest I've found to the real thing anywhere in Arizona. Whenever I'm on the west side of the Valley--or heading to or from a Cardinals game--I find myself looking for an excuse to stop in. Next time, I'm skipping the slices and ordering an entire pie. If you're a fellow New Yorker living in Arizona and craving a slice that tastes like home, Lil Capo should be at the top of your list.
