We have ordered take out from here several times. The food typically is ready to go quickly and staff is always friendly. Their version of potato salad is a great twist on a classic, only addition needed is black pepper. The most recent visit we tried a meatball sub and the cardinal. The meatball sub was really the only thing we've gotten here and didn't like, the seasoning blend used was just too over powering. Delicious sandwiches were had by both of us. The Grand Canyon was very good, the guy taking orders suggested adding a garlic sauce, it was the right thing to do. Not sure what the other one was but its meat was roast beef, no alterations were made and it too was delicious. They didn't have ice and the drinks are bottles. The dining area is small but it is a sandwich shop so that's kinda normal. Two TVs, so there's stuff to look at if you're waiting for an order. Also if you're getting the Dutch crunch bread, eat your sandwich upside down or the roof of your mouth will be torn up. I should have gotten the half size as they are quite substantial. read more

First of all, as someone who has allergy sensitivities, I was so glad to walk into an establishment where I wasn't given the evil eye and asked the horrible question, "So is this a preference or are you REALLY allergic to gluten?" None of that going on here, only a great sandwich with LOADS of yummy turkey and just enough mayo and other toppings. They have a terrific variety of drinks including probiotic canned drinks, which I love. This was around 2 p.m. and there was a steady stream of customers coming and going. There's a lot going on visually here, but since my order to go, it wasn't a problem. There is also outside dining, but it was pouring rain. Imagine that? Rain in Phoenix. A terrific place. We were in the mood for sandwiches and found this gem.  We were greeted by the owner, who described several of their best sellers.  They have at least 29 different sandwiches on their menu, different rolls, or you can ask for a custom sandwich.   I chose the whole #1, The Grand Canyon, and my wife chose the whole #2, The Tombstone.  Both sandwiches were large, fresh, and delicious.  We had lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and banana peppers on the sandwiches.  I had the Dutch crunch roll, and my wife had the Sourdough roll.  There are many other veggies and add-ons available.   All the staff members were friendly, with greetings when we arrived and saying goodbye when we left.  The owner even came outside to say goodbye and thank us for our visit.  The restaurant was also immaculate.  It's about 45 minutes or so away from us, but we will be going back. This little sandwich spot was a delicious little surprise. I was craving a sandwich, and we happened to come across this on our GPS so we stopped. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, and inside you can buy some of their products they use which is cool. I ordered a Reuben and I was not disappointed! My husband ordered #16 which was one of the ones recommended by the staff, and he also enjoyed. We will definitely try to come back to try some of the other options. read more

Well, this makes me sad but we revisited this sandwich spot and honestly, my husband said to me, "Is this the same place?" I was in total agreement. Not sure what happened to the yummy garlic sauce?! There is nothing special about this sandwich anymore. Sure there was a good portion of lunchmeat and toppings, but it was soooooo DRY! In the end, we won't come back when we visit the area and we now are looking for a different and more unique sandwich. Too expensive to basically get a sandwich you could make, and taste as good as, at home. Bummer. read more

Couple things went wrong with this sandwich. The lettuce they use is criminal. It is a fancy type of spiny purple lettuce that I have never seen on a sandwich, only on a $10 salad. It doesn't belong on a sub. The Sourdough bread was not Sourdough all. It was more like a French bread. Also wasn't impressed with the quality of the turkey. Ability to get half sandwich needs to be noted on the menu board too. $13 mistake. read more

We were interested in a cold cut sandwich on a hot day and this place looked like it was exactly what we were craving. They're have plenty of parking because they are in a strip mall. Their place is quite small and was really busy on the Sunday we stopped in, but most people seemed to be taking their food to go. They have a cooler right by the register that showcases the bread types as well as their decadent looking cheesecakes and Mac salad/potato salad. I ordered the #16, which is a departure from the normal Italian sub sandwich I'd normally order. It was topped high with crisp lettuce, pickles, peppers, and tomato and dripping with sauce. I was only able to eat half but was happy to have half for later. The Mac salad was a perfect accompaniment. I loved the soft bread it came on. I would highly recommend this place for a tasty lunch and don't skip the cheesecake!! read more

So glad this place is just down the street from us! I ordered #5 The Cardinal - look at the little drawings they put on the wrapper! That's so cute. The only change I made to the sandwich was just to add bomb sauce, and the subtle heat was perfection. I also really appreciate that they put a lettuce blend on the sandwiches instead of just shredded iceberg lettuce. It makes the quality way better. The Sandwich Spot has been popping up on my feeds recently so when my husband suggested sandwiches, I thought we should give it a try. From the outside, it looks like everything else in the plaza, but once you walk inside you're greeted by mouth-watering scents, clean and bright colors, and friendly employees. The menu is written across the wall behind the counter with bright colors and fun names which just made it more enticing. My husband knew immediately what he wanted - #1 The Grand Canyon, which is their version of an Italian sub. It took me a bit longer to decide. Everything looked good with so many interesting combinations. I forgot nally settled on #20 The Snake Bite which is Hot Roast Beef, bacon, BBQ sauce and cheddar cheese. And added lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. I got mine on the sourdough. My husband went with the Dutch Crunch roll and when I saw his sandwich, part of me wished I'd tried the Dutch Crunch too. Now that's not to say there was anything wrong with the sourdough, and there definitely wasn't. My sandwich was absolutely delicious! Roast beef was warm, bread was soft. Bbq sauce added a nice sweetness to offset the sharp cheddar. It was just a delicious mix of flavors. There are a total of 28 sandwiches on the menu. We plan to try every one of them. Service was also great. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in the door, and conversation flowed smoothly. This may sound odd as it applies to a business, but the conversation never felt forced or fake. It was enjoyable. I wish I had his name, but the person who took our order mentioned that the 4 most popular items on the menu are #1, 2, ,12 and 16. He offered suggestions but nothing at all pushy. Good news: - Price relative to what you get is a good value - Sandwich fillings were pretty high quality Bad news: - They don't have fountain soda. Not the end of the world, but I prefer fountain soda - Bread (dutch crunch in this case) was VERY dense and seemed to be stale. This really detracted significantly from the overall quality of the end product The quality (or lack there of) of the bread is what really drove the rating down. I'm fairly used to being disappointed with gluten-free bread so was excited to see all 5 reviews for the GF offering. The sandwich itself was tasty, however, the bread wasn't as good as some other nearby places and the meat was questionable. To be fair, I tend to prefer healthier meat choices (nitrate free) but understand most establishments do not serve them for cost reasons. With that being said, I found that spending $15 for a small sandwich to be extreme and again, there are better options in the area. Based on the photos, I assumed I might be able to split this between two meals, but it was just barely enough for one. This is a great option for people looking for a quick bite without restrictions, but unfortunately not a good option for me. W O W ! Its been a few weeks since I stopped and I am still dreaming of their Grand Canyon sandwich. The Dutch Crunch bread!!!!! OMG it is so good and I really cannot stress enough how much everyone needs to try it. Add everything (mayo, mustard, secret sauce, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, peppers), it will elevate any sandwich you get. They have lots of sandwich options and you choose the bread you want, which is also a good variety. They are served cold, and I am not sure if there is an option to warm this up. I am mentioning this as I am pregnant and ended up heating mine up at home to be safe. Otherwise cold is great too! Super friendly and helpful staff. We told them it was our first time and they were patient with us and walked us through everything. They have chips, drinks, and desserts! We just got sandwiches and AZ Lemonade, but I will be getting a brownie next time. Really cute inside the shop and its in a quaint plaza with many other businesses. The Sandwich Spot is a fast casual restaurant located in a small strip mall. It's tucked away in the back and easy to miss if you don't see the street side sign. (That's easy to do if you're paying attention to traffic.) I happened to visit in December and the entire place was decked out in holiday decorations. There's a tv for videos (the Jackson 5 helped to entertain diners). The dining room was clean and there's free water available for those who care to hydrate. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered The Havasu: Hot Turkey, Cranberry and Cream Cheese. I didn't care much for the cream cheese. It wasn't bad, just not my preference. I'd never paired it with turkey before. Otherwise, the sandwich was good and the cranberry added to the holiday flair. For dessert, I tried the brownie. They offer it warmed, but I opted for a chilled one to take home, instead. It was chewy and chocolate-y and would order it again. The price was a bit steep for what you get. A sandwich, brownie, tax and tip (no drink) was around $20. It was pretty busy during lunchtime but the order process moved quickly. The sandwiches are large, the fixings are fresh but the bread to meat ratio is a bit more than I prefer in a sandwich. I would love to come back and try a sandwich as a salad, not sure if that's an option? Did also try the macaroni and potato salads but nothing super special about them. They also have a few different house made sauces- so ask about them and add some deliciousness to your choice. The whole operation seems chef- inspired and not your typical sandwich joint. It's located in the back corner of a small strip mall and can't be seen from the street, so use Google Maps and you'll be fine. Inside is small, cool and clean. Simple and contemporary.
