Worth the hype! The breakfast sandwich is top tier and the winter spiced latte was subtle but delicious. The sandwich had the most perfect cooked egg, it was still a little gooey in the middle but not so much that it made a total mess. The arugula, avocado, and tomato were super fresh. It felt light and rich at the same time, just delish. The staff was amazing especially given how busy it was on a Saturday morning. I was shocked at how fast everything came out. It's super small and cute inside, but I still managed to grab a seat at the bar and it's such a perfect spot to people watch. If I lived in the area, I'd come here all the time! read more

Berdena's perfects the ambience - with it being situated in a calming, comforting plaza with its sleek, bright, modern interior makes it a relaxing place to spend your weekend/day off. 01/10/2026 My friend and I stopped here for caffeine after brunch. So glad we got there around 9:50am - there was only one person in front of us, but the line got super long not long after. They had many pastry options that were sourced from a local bakery. I got an iced blackberry matcha and a strawberry pop tart. My friend got a vanilla latte and a slice of banana bread. There were a few seats available at the community table, but the layout of the place is pretty cramped so we sat outside. I couldn't really taste the blackberry in my matcha. I liked the taste of the pop tart, but it didn't have enough filling. I tried a bit of my friend's banana bread - flavor was good but texture was quite dense. The staff were all really nice and courteous. My overall experience was pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here. read more

This is one of my favorite hidden gems, tucked inside The Frederick. They have the best pastries hands down, the banana bread is unmatched. What a great place! I had the blueberry pop tart, which is homemade with real blueberries! I warmed it up at home, and it was truly so yummy. I also had the chocolate croissant! I've been to Berdenas in Scottsdale and loved it. The PHX location at the Fred is much more inviting. Indoor/outdoor seats, this cozy location seems to always be buzzing. My review is based on the pastries but I definitely need to try the coffee and the burritos as they seem to be a hit among customers. I like this location because they have parking and that's always on my mind. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I've had a variety of their pastries. I like the cheese danish. The cinnamon roll was very sweet - I recommend it when sharing, on its own it can be overindulgent. The breakfast cookie is a nice alternative if you like nuts however I think it's expensive. Why has it taken so long for me to review Berdena's on Missouri?? Located in the Fred, a collection of small businesses, Berdena's is warm and inviting. Lots of seating inside and outside. Coffee and teas are both delicious. We ordered the Rose Cardamom latte (my favorite) and iced tea (Jasmine Pomelo, I think). The latte was perfect. Can really taste the florals of the rose and the warm nuttiness of the cardamom. We were quite surprised by the iced tea--very floral and fragrant. The perfect iced tea, actually. Food-wise, there is quite a selection of pastries (croissants, cinnamon rolls, scones) as well as breakfast burritos and avocado toast. We ordered the burrito with bacon. SO delicious and filling. The avocado toast was beautiful, but needed more flavor--maybe some salt. Service was friendly and accommodating. Berdena's is a great space to catch up with a friend or get some work done! read more

This small coffee shop had great vibes with both indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of dogs outside :). My coffee was great! I got an oat latte, and the milk was steamed perfectly. Beautiful latte art! They only had a few pastry options when I stopped by, but they also have breakfast burritos, avocado toast, and parfaits. Decent number of seats inside, but I can see it getting packed! POS system was down and there was a sign on the window saying they were waiting for maintenance. She didn't say if she was taking cash, so we sat outside waiting. Then we saw someone order a coffee, so we went back in and as we were about to ask if she was taking orders, she cut us off, looked annoyed, and said she would once the sign was down. First impression was not great and I probably won't go back. Communication is simple, so this felt frustrating. The place is cute though, which is a shame. read more

Berdena's on Missouri is just as aesthetically pleasing as its Scottsdale counterpart. It's very beautiful in there. I only had a hot tea (which was delicious) but the food and other drinks they had looked good. Service was great - very attentive and friendly. The space is very inviting and I could see myself bringing my laptop and working from there. Only issue is there isn't all that much seating inside - I don't know how crowded it gets. I made a stop on a Friday morning and there were several seats available. The Fred where the coffee shop is located is really neat. Plenty of parking at the back. read more

On this visit I ordered an iced caramel oat milk latte, chocolate chip cookie and the breakfast burrito. The latte was so smooth and no bitter taste. I believe I saw them measuring out on a scale which is actually brilliant to ensure consistency across baristas. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy on the edges but still chewy in the middle. Yum. The breakfast burrito wasn't anything spectacular. It was filling and needed the salsa for more flavor. Overall, a great spot for an amazing coffee and pastries. The matcha itself seemed fine quality wise but I couldn't taste any blackberry flavor at all. I don't like my matchas super sweet but this just wasn't enjoyable to drink at all. I consider myself a loyal customer to Berdenas. I love to visit the Fred location to work on homework or to catch up on work. The staff is always very kind and welcoming. The seating area is very comfortable and they have several outlets available as well as strong wifi. My favorite menu items to get are the Cinnamon Honey Latte w/ Oat, the danish and the avocado toast. I've tried the breakfast burrito in the past and it's delicious. I would say that the matcha is a hit or a miss depending on who prepares it. This is because they use pre-made matcha concentrate; they don't whisk the matcha to order. This past visit they used too much concentrate and my drink was very strong and not very enjoyable. read more

Was so excited to have Berdena's fill the empty coffee slot at Fred's so went Sunday to do a test drive of their beverages. Sadly I found them simply run of the mill. As a coffee-holic I have pretty strict standards for a good cup of coffee and a watery latte is simply a sin. My vanilla latte lacked any robust bean flavor and the "house made vanilla" didn't improve the situation. A french looking pastry was ok but tearing off bites of any pastry should not require putting some "muscle into it" with both hands. Would I go back again? Never say never, but they would definitely have to step up their game to play with the big guys of a half dozen other coffee houses that do it better. read more
