The one thing I think sucks about this location is that the breakfast sandwich is not available here. I got a breakfast burrito instead. I also bought a cookie and some of their sodas. The food itself was nothing special but it was nice because I got an InKind discount. The place itself is somewhat relaxing and people tend to bring their laptops here to study/work.
01/10/2026 My friend and I stopped here for caffeine after brunch. So glad we got there around 9:50am - there was only one person in front of us, but the line got super long not long after. They had many pastry options that were sourced from a local bakery. I got an iced blackberry matcha and a strawberry pop tart. My friend got a vanilla latte and a slice of banana bread. There were a few seats available at the community table, but the layout of the place is pretty cramped so we sat outside. I couldn't really taste the blackberry in my matcha. I liked the taste of the pop tart, but it didn't have enough filling. I tried a bit of my friend's banana bread - flavor was good but texture was quite dense. The staff were all really nice and courteous. My overall experience was pretty good, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.
Worth the hype! The breakfast sandwich is top tier and the winter spiced latte was subtle but delicious. The sandwich had the most perfect cooked egg, it was still a little gooey in the middle but not so much that it made a total mess. The arugula, avocado, and tomato were super fresh. It felt light and rich at the same time, just delish. The staff was amazing especially given how busy it was on a Saturday morning. I was shocked at how fast everything came out. It's super small and cute inside, but I still managed to grab a seat at the bar and it's such a perfect spot to people watch. If I lived in the area, I'd come here all the time!
Berdena's perfects the ambience - with it being situated in a calming, comforting plaza with its sleek, bright, modern interior makes it a relaxing place to spend your weekend/day off. The music isn't too loud. There are ample seating both inside and out. The baristas were all friendly. Truly an idyllic experience. I ordered the Espresso Tonic. Very well brewed espresso with little bitterness or aftertaste. With combination with the tonic, it makes a refreshing drink. I wish there were more tonic flavors! Spent $6-7
Located in the Frederick. Cute little coffee shop. Always busy when I come here. I love their baked goods, whether it's their savory biscuits, croissants or scones.

This is one of my favorite hidden gems, tucked inside The Frederick. They have the best pastries hands down, the banana bread is unmatched. My sister ordered a latte and a croissant and said it was the best latte she's had in a long time. I took a little "sister tax" of the croissant, and it was incredibly buttery and flaky--so good! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is always so friendly.
It's my first time in Phoenix and I was having matcha withdrawals when I came across Berdena's! Honestly heaven sent! As soon as you walk into the shop, you get hit with the amazing smell of coffee. It's so cozy and bright, the perfect little study spot. Their iced matcha latte with oat milk was also delicious. Very refreshing for this AZ heat.
What a great place! I had the blueberry pop tart, which is homemade with real blueberries! I warmed it up at home, and it was truly so yummy. I also had the chocolate croissant! This pastry was equally delicious. Plus, it wasn't small either! Can hardly wait to try more of their pastries! Plus, as soon as I'm drinking coffee again (currently on a caffeine free diet... kinda like no alcohol for January, but caffeine), I'm excited to try a few items on their menu.
I've been to Berdenas in Scottsdale and loved it. The PHX location at the Fred is much more inviting. Indoor/outdoor seats, this cozy location seems to always be buzzing. The dozen or so vendors all have a unique twist. The pastries at Berdenas are top notch. I haven't quite had a multi-seed oatmeal raisin cookie before. It was delicious .
My review is based on the pastries but I definitely need to try the coffee and the burritos as they seem to be a hit among customers. I like this location because they have parking and that's always on my mind. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I've had a variety of their pastries. I like the cheese danish. The cinnamon roll was very sweet - I recommend it when sharing, on its own it can be overindulgent. The breakfast cookie is a nice alternative if you like nuts however I think it's expensive. I'll be back to try the coffee.
Berdena's is always such a great go-to for delicious coffee and matcha. I hear the owners are from Michigan, and as a fellow Michigan State Spartan, this warms my heart! Berdena's is the perfect place, whether you're getting your coffee to go, whether you're planning on exploring the area, or whether you're planning on enjoying your coffee there, it is perfect for any situation! Their pastries are always delicious, as well. You just have to make sure to get there early to get one! Employees are always friendly and the smell of delicious coffee fills the space! read more

Berdena's is located in a little plaza with a bunch of other cute shops and restaurants, such as Lydia's, Vida Moulin, Le Potager Atelier, etc. The plaza is called The Frederick, which is a redeveloped 1960s mid-century building. There is a decent sized parking lot that is plenty for off peak hours, but fills up quickly for weekend brunch. The businesses surround a small courtyard with some seating. I had lunch plans at Lydia's, and decided to check out Berdena's beforehand. It's a coffee shop with pastries and breakfast burritos. While the breakfast burritos sounded good, there was no way I could have that and lunch shortly after, so I just opted for the cardamom rose latte. Originally I had wanted to get a pastry as well, but I got there later in the morning so there weren't many options left - maybe another time! It was fairly busy when I went, with a steady stream of customers coming in and out. The seating outside looked enticing, and I saw many people enjoying lounging in the courtyard, but it was getting warm and I didn't want to get burnt. I would definitely come back, but earlier in the day so I can indulge in both a pastry and a coffee! read more

Cute little coffee shop in uptown phoenix! Wasn't too busy and my friend and I received our coffees fairly quickly. We both ordered iced caramel lattes; mine was with macadamia milk and it was good. Cute little shopping plaza read more

Love this location, so nice to have one in Phoenix. Loved the Blueberry pastry and Sweater Weather Chai (clove, nutmeg, orange, and more!). Staff was nice, and lots of parking in the back. Seating inside, and outside. read more
Berdena's on Missouri is just as aesthetically pleasing as its Scottsdale counterpart. It's very beautiful in there. I only had a hot tea (which was delicious) but the food and other drinks they had looked good. Service was great - very attentive and friendly. The space is very inviting and I could see myself bringing my laptop and working from there. Only issue is there isn't all that much seating inside - I don't know how crowded it gets. I made a stop on a Friday morning and there were several seats available. The Fred where the coffee shop is located is really neat. Plenty of parking at the back. read more
Berdena's coffee was amazing!! This is a beautiful quiet spot. I went early Saturday morning and it was busy but still places to sit. The employees were all super friendly and happy to help. On this visit I ordered an iced caramel oat milk latte, chocolate chip cookie and the breakfast burrito. The latte was so smooth and no bitter taste. I believe I saw them measuring out on a scale which is actually brilliant to ensure consistency across baristas. The chocolate chip cookie was crispy on the edges but still chewy in the middle. Yum. The breakfast burrito wasn't anything spectacular. It was filling and needed the salsa for more flavor. Overall, a great spot for an amazing coffee and pastries. I love Berdenas and this one is not as crowded as the old town location. However, they don't have egg making capabilities. So if you get the avocado toast there will be no fried egg on top. This fact keeps me only going to the old town location. read more

Small place nestled amongst some small boutique type shops downtown. It was a bustling little place with about 5 deep in line the whole time I was there on a Saturday morning. There was seating both inside and out and they had pastries as well. The burritos were sold out when I got there, but they had a sign offering avocado toast still. I tried a latte special that was honey, homemade vanilla, and cinnamon. It was really good. read more

Such a beautiful place. Tons of outdoor seating with lovely views both shaded and in the sun. A decent amount of indoor seating, but it can get snatched up fast. Dog and family friendly. Very welcoming. The staff are very friendly, the coffee is solid, and their pastries are gorgeous. I got the banana bread and it was honestly bangin. read more

I consider myself a loyal customer to Berdenas. I love to visit the Fred location to work on homework or to catch up on work. The staff is always very kind and welcoming. The seating area is very comfortable and they have several outlets available as well as strong wifi. My favorite menu items to get are the Cinnamon Honey Latte w/ Oat, the danish and the avocado toast. I've tried the breakfast burrito in the past and it's delicious. I would say that the matcha is a hit or a miss depending on who prepares it. This is because they use pre-made matcha concentrate; they don't whisk the matcha to order. This past visit they used too much concentrate and my drink was very strong and not very enjoyable. read more

haven't been here in a couple years and have been missing out! Matcha was good - perfect ratio of sweet to matcha flavor. Sat outside and it was lovely, lots of great indoor seating with natural light too. Drink came quickly and I'll be back soon! read more

Daisy was going above and beyond. I ordered the breakfast cookies so I can take them home to San Diego. She wasn't sure if that was possible but called me back that it was possible. I am so happy, those cookies are the best and so is Daisy!. Unfortunately the cortado i got today wasn't as good, but at least I got some caffeine so I can survive a 6 hour drive :) A special thank you to Daisy! read more
I went to berdenas once a few years ago in Scottsdale and is was insanely busy, this location an the Fred was much more low key! This is a small, trendy spot with a clean aesthetic! The line moved quickly, I got an iced oat milk matcha latte. Sometimes matcha lattes end up being too sweet for me so I said no sweetener, but I'd probably get it sweetened next time. I got my husband a caramel latte with extra caramel and a cinnamon roll, both which he enjoyed! Pretty latte art too! Baristas were friendly and worked quickly! There's a tiny patio too, definitely a great addition to the Fred! read more
