I want to amend my review. After a few years, coffee shops around the Valley have raised their prices so much that Moxie is now one of the more reasonable options, at least when it comes to specialty coffee*. Bags of beans are still pretty small for how much they cost, but they've also won some awards semi-recently, so I understand. I also appreciate that it's one of the calmer spaces to do some laptop work without being hassled or dealing with blaring music. *I totally understand that ingredient prices have gone through the roof lately! Moxie Coffee Co. is an award-winning micro-roastery and coffee shop in Phoenix, known for its "uncommon coffees". SOLD Parked in the garage in a closed business spot, so that worked out. Lots of parking in the garage and I'm pretty sure it's free. Went in through the back entrance and the space is bright, clean, with some greenery. Cool bar setup with baristas making specialty drinks. I was between 2 drinks and but got the Rafa (recommended). Sooo good. Got it with oat milk and it was creamy, smooth, not too sweet, with a subtle nutty buttery flavor. Barista handed it to me which was sweet. I saw another barista like delivering to people sitting so that's always nice. Also grabbed the Miso Pecan Spelt Cookie Crispy, chewy, not too sweet. I went right before 10am and some desserts were sold out already! I'd come back for sure. Sit down and try something else. read more

What a gem. Moxie Coffee completely won me over from the moment I walked in - the staff are genuinely some of the kindest I've encountered, and the whole place just has this beautiful, considered aesthetic that feels so intentional. The interior is stunning: warm, minimal, and full of personality. The shelf displaying their coffee bags and packaging is absolutely my vibe. I could honestly browse it all day. They source rare, small-batch beans and it shows. I picked up a red honey processed Ethiopian coffee with tasting notes of raspberry, clementine, hibiscus, and rose petal, and it delivered on every single one. Worth every penny, even if the beans are a splurge. My only regret is not grabbing more bags. On the food side - the tomato thyme danish is a must! Please, please ask them to heat it up. It's incredible either way, but warm? Another level entirely. The whole pastry case looks amazing and they're actively building out a dedicated bakery section, so I can only imagine this gets even better. Watch this space. My absolute favorite coffee shop in Phoenix! I've been coming here for 4 years and have never been disappointed. I subscribe to their monthly coffee program for over a year and have never been disappointed. The coffee here is literally award winning today we tried two drinks from their specialty or signature menu; the Musa and the Rafah. The musa had a macerated banana cold foam on top of their nitro cold brew. The rafah was honey foam on top of a pistachio butter espresso and whole milk. They were both so delicious The service today was so friendly and very helpful and accommodating. They of course were busy but that's to be expected as this place is so amazing. My daughter brought us to this amazing coffee shop where they have award winning coffee. Of course, I had to try that. It's called the Letty Bermudez, which is a filtered coffee. I have to agree with the hype! It was absolutely amazing. They serve it black and hot. I cannot describe how smooth and light the coffee was. It was so flavorful we added nothing extra. I highly recommend the Letty Bermudez! Notably, the coffee shop was very crowded at 2 Pm, filled with young professionals typing away on their computers. Super cute coffee shop with so much space to sit, this would make a great study spot. They had a good sized menu which had a lot of cool, craft drinks. I really liked the idea of the drinks we got, but I found both of them a little bitter and unbalanced. My palate may just not be tuned for these kinda of drinks, but I thought they were fine. I don't have a sweet tooth, but this is definitely not a shop for someone with a sweet tooth. I love the decor of the shop, so cool!! read more

Matt moved Moxie's roaster out and brought in a Baker (Ryne) & serious ovens and equipment to create goodies like saffron twist, croissants (tres b,n), pain 'cholcolat', 'pain aux raision', and my fav Baguettes, crust not doughy -the kind you are handed with a small piece of paper at the local boulangerie in your Paris neighborhood. My son is a fan, so I had to check it out while visiting Phoenix. This is not the place to come if you're in a hurry. The drinks are made to exact specifications and that takes time. Be prepared for a line. That being said, our coffees were outstanding. My Lefty was perfectly balanced with just a touch of sweetness and the bright note of orange peel. The Nola was rich and almost chocolatey with the addition of chicory. The Cortado was rich and bold. This is where coffee connoisseurs should be visiting. It also has a bakery on site, and I enjoyed the flaky ham & cheese croissant. The setting is clean and simple. I'll definitely visit again when I'm in the Phoenix area. read more

Never seen Moxie so crowded (congrats to them on the Global Coffee Awards win!), but they handled the crowds so well and delivered with consistent quality as usual. This visit, I decided on the Eavesdropper, a seasonal latte special with sweet potato, browns sugar, and spices. It was exceptional and exactly what I love about Moxie! No ingredient overpowers the other. You can clearly taste the espresso, sweet potato, and all else. The torched marshmallow was also crazy good. The outside was sooo crispy, but it was soft and melty inside. On a typical day, the A&W is my favorite reliable go-to for a lovely cinnamon spice. The baked goods were sold out today, but their miso pecan spelt cookie has been so wonderful lately too. Moxie is actively building out a bakery section in their store, and I can't wait for more options! But, we waited about 15 minutes for just okay drinks and a lackluster cinnamon bun. The cold brew was mid. The pastry had an uneven bake on it. His latte flavors were imbalanced. One good thing it has going for it is kind employees! The staff I interacted with were nice. The overall look in here is nice, even while still being under construction and having some tarp covering the area that's incomplete. Parking situation wasn't the best, but it was okay. Met a friend here who I haven't seen in a couple years as it was half way from where we both were staying. Fairly easily to find and parking in a garage which was easy. This place is right down the street from the office. Not my go to normally but I'm glad I stopped in. House roasted beans, hand crafted lattes, and nice, spacious seating. Drinks can take a bit to get as they are very busy but there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Cinnamon bun was just ok. It looks softer and more flaky than it tastes. Its flavor was fine but needed more cinnamon and/or sugar. Not nearly soft/flaky enough if they were going for a "refined" cinnamon bun Chai latte was average- ended up leaving half of it. It's very very heavy on the tea almost offputtingly. Cold brew was very mild and neutral. Doesn't have a bitter but sweet taste like mama's cold brew or bosa, but very smooth. Not my preference but still quality. All in all the vibe is there but not my favorite coffee or food. One and done for me. read more

You order and they bring your drink to you. Idk how they know who orders what because they are so busy but they do a good job keeping up. I got the sweet potato latte, hot. It was good, but a little sweet for me. It was noisy, but I was able to sit and read for a while. They have clear plastic covering the bakery area. Parking is in a parking garage. I'm neither a pumpkin spice girlie so yea but I bet their brow sugar vanilla latte is amazing! The ham and cheese roll is solid as well but wasn't expecting the Dijon mustard very seedy to be in the roll so watch out if you aren't a Dijon mustard person. But the fruit cream cheese danish took the cake for me!! That right there is amazing! I didn't even need to warm it up it was so good!!! As you may know, I am very picky about my coffee. When I travel I always use yelp to find a local coffee shop that has great reviews. This one looked good and had plenty of seating inside and a few tables out front. We parked in the lot behind the shop and walked into a huge industrial space filled with people sitting at tables. We both ordered a Brown Sugar type latte extra hot, light foam. They were ready within a reasonable time and someone brought them to our table. My coffee was very good but was not quite hot enough so they remade it for me. I liked that it was spacious with plenty of seating. I ordered the toasted marshmallow latte (forgot the exact menu name). I asked for half sweet with oat milk. It was delicious! The flavor was still there, plus the espresso wasn't overpowered by the milk. I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were alot of customers inside so we sat outside in good weather. Inside, they have a warm and spacious setup with about 7-8 tables for seating. For their menu, they have a good selection of different coffee, matcha, and loose leaf tea drinks to choose from. I just woke up and this was my first drink of the day so I opted for a calm luh Matcha Latte sweetened with vanilla. Overall, we enjoyed our experience here and the relaxing atmosphere of the shop.
