I didn't realize how cute this place was! It's pretty spacious. I don't know what it's like during peak hours but when I went in the morning around 8am, there was more than enough room. Stopped by Case Study for a quick cup on my way to my son's event in Phoenix. Anytime I get to venture outside of my bubble, I like to try a new-to-me coffee shop. I've heard great things about Case Study, so I was excited to give them a try. Parking is limited, but I was able to find free street parking nearby. The staff was friendly and helpful, and greeted me right away. They were busy, but service was fast. The space is really cool, they even have a large venue space in the bag where they often host events with live DJs. I ordered the Dark Horse which has dark maple, smoked sea salt, espresso, and choice of milk and a breakfast burrito. The drink was solid and not too sweet. The breakfast burrito was also tasty! I came here for Case Study and Friends night and the turnout was crazy packed. Loved the vibe and how they live-streamed the dj sets on Twitch for everyone to see while they waited in line. I got an espresso martini. They also had IPA's and coffee and matcha selections. Since they are showing a lot of growth in turnout, I suggest they have a little more organization in where to stand once you get in to order. Honestly, most coffee shops have a similar feel. Most of them do things right: be inviting, comfortable, and create an amazing social space. But, I recently had a design-genius-with-a-latte-machine moment in this architectural marvel disguised as a cafe. The Big Secret: This shop started as a showroom for a master woodwork artist! That explains why every counter, table, and panel is absolutely stunning--it's a living gallery of design. I am a plain Cappuccino kind of person. Very cool coffee shop and seems like a great place to lounge and study. It can get busy and then it gets awkward because the walkways get narrow when some seats are occupied. It felt cramped so we just left after we got our drinks. The coffee was nice and the specialties we thought were executed well. Across the board in my group, we were not fans of the matcha guava. Although guava flavor was present, the taste was predominantly milk like many other coffee spots with matcha we come across. Worth a stop for anything else though! read more

Stopped by "Case + Friends" (after-hour coffee raves Tuesday evenings only 7-9pm) for the first time 8/26/25. There is a small parking lot available but ample residential area curbside parking nearby. I arrived around 7:30pm and parked far, about a 4 minute walk away. When I arrived at the door, there was a minimal line, about 5 people in front of me. A security guard checked our ID's, and we were given wristbands. There was no cover! The front section of the coffee shop was packed, with a long line for alcohol wrapped around the whole front of the shop. The back room was where the real party was, with dark lighting and a club-like atmosphere and the whole crowd dancing (honestly, the energy here was better than most clubs I've ever been to). The room was hot, but there were a few large fans blowing into the crowd. I've only ever been to this coffee shop once, but I imagine the large rectangular space usually has seating, especially since the front of the store has so little seating. Overall, I had an energetic evening that punctuated an otherwise difficult work week. This easy to find coffee spot is located just off Camelback. There is parking in front of the coffee shop and on the side street. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. The menu is printed on a large area to the right of the counter so everyone can clearly see it. And then to the left of the counter, they have a small station for lids and straws. They have a food menu and did have some baked items out, but we were just here for coffee today. I love when coffee shops have some creative drinks. Case Study has items on their menu like a brown sugar sage latte and a vanilla rosemary latte that both sounded wonderful but the channel orange latte really got my attention, so I had to try it. It even came with a wedge of orange- very refreshing and tasty. I really like their menu so I will be back to try some other drinks but the orange latte will live on in my mind for a long time. Wow! This shop was new to me just three days ago and I liked it so much I've been back twice. The chai is wonderfully sweet but light, and today I tried the seasonal orange vanilla latte - this may actually be my favorite espresso drink I've ever had. My kiddos got chocolate milk and hot chocolate respectively, and both were very happy. We also got the strawberry and rose pop tart, the chocolate hazelnut pastry, the ham and cheese croissant, and the strawberry toast. Service has been great each time. I was so appreciative of the kind barista who guided my daughter (with limited taste preferences) to the strawberry toast after hearing that she probably wouldn't care for what she originally wanted to order. Love this place when I'm craving non-pour over options and want a treat. This is based on their fall seasonal menu for 2025. Currently they are serving 5 drinks on their menu. We've had 2 of them. I'm absolutely in love with one of them, the pumpkin spice cold brew! Mmmmm! Mmm! The cold brew base is what is important and if that is trash the drink is ruined. This cold brew is an absolute delight and now the pumpkin adds the final touches of deliciousness! The drink consist vanilla cold brew with pumpkin infused cold foam. I love it! I've already had it twice. I try not to have drinks like this because you know gotta watch the calorie intake, but it's totally worth especially after a hike and dance class. It's not to fake in fall and pumpkin flavors and the cold brew and pumpkin cold foam blend well. Definitely recommend it especially if you are like me and tend to be a pour over purist lol. George had the autumn daze: ginger beer, apple cider, apple butter, pomegranate, architect espresso. He says definitely a festive fall drink and heavy on the ginger The inside vibes are cool, chill. Plenty of space to study. They are always playing fun music. Staff is super nice and knowledgeable. They carry Mark Chaconne treats on Sundays and all other days have an in house baker who makes awesome variety of baked goods including pop tarts. Side note, bathroom is really big and clean. Super cute coffee spot with tasty eats and delicious drinks! Staff was also really friendly. My wife ordered the strawberry toast and orange channel latte and both were really good! I had a lavender matcha and an avocado toast and it was also really good! Pricing is pretty on par with other shops so expect to pay for the luxury of not making these items at home - our total with tip was about $50. This was my first time at Case Study, but I've heard so many great things about it on social media. The vibes of the store was nice and they had a good-size menu that didn't feel overwhelming. I ordered the blueberry matcha off of their seasonal menu. It had a good balance of flavor between the matcha and blueberry syrup. It wasn't too sweet, which I loved. A very solid matcha that I finished pretty quickly. We also tried the fruit danish which was good - no complaints. My bf got the dark horse, which was super yummy! So glad I finally made it to Case Study! They made Top Places to Drink on Yelp this past year (2024) and between the photos and great reviews, I was looking forward to my visit, while I was in the area. They do have a shared parking lot, thought it was full when I arrived, I was able to easily snag a street parking spot though. Upon entering, it gives the illusion that it's a small intimate shop with a bar area and couch, but the entire space wraps around to offer ample seating, though we were lucky to snag the last table! The space is warm upon entry with wood tones and more industrial in the back, but overall a very cool space. The menu offered classic coffee beverages, along with a few seasonal specials and a specialty/ Case Study originals options. I usually opt for something simple or cold, but with the cooler weather the vanilla rosemary latte was speaking to me - especially since they make their syrups in house! It was delicious. the flavor came out, without being overly sweet or to strong. The foam was perfect and it was topped with beautiful latte art. There is an option for espresso based latte or matcha, I went for espresso this time around. I do wish they had made our beverages in mugs for there, instead of to go or inquired. - UPDATE: They do offer mugs for enjoying on site as well, of course based on availability, so hopefully I am lucky enough to get on on my next visit. This spot is a former architect's workspace transformed into a coffee lounge for the community. This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots with street parking around the area as well. Inside, they have an interesting yet spacious layout. Initially when you walk in, there are only about 4-5 spaces for seating but then when you walk towards the back of the shop, there is a whole other area with 6-7 more tables. For their menu, they have a great selection of different seasonal, coffee, tea, and speciality drinks. I opted to try the Brown Sugar Sage Matcha Latte and it had a unique flavor profile and was not too sweet! Overall, I enjoyed lounging around here and checking out the interesting interior decor they have. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Such a great aesthetic and decor, lots of seating, charging outlets. Phoenix adventure off to a great start! When we're traveling, we always look for indie coffee houses; places where they do coffee RIGHT. Friends, we found just such a place in Case Study. Small-ish and intimate, the atmosphere is immediately inviting. There's a small lounge off to the side of the counter, and then a larger room in back with plenty of tables and outlets if you're planning on working. Coffee (and other drinks) is ON POINT. My brown sugar-sage (syrup made in-house) was lovely, my beau's Americano was ACE (his word), and others (people who drink a shocking amount of coffee) who got the blueberry-matcha iced lattes said they were terrific. The food was every bit as good. Beau had an everything bagel with cream cheese; the bagel was crispy and chewy and just what you want in a bagel. Young ones got breakfast burritos (that were the size of my head) filled with eggs, potato, cheese, and green chiles. Reports are that they were awesome. I had a house-made apple butter "pop tart" and a house-made ham-and-Swiss croissant. Both were incredible. The pop tart's pastry was buttery and crumbly and tender; it was everything a pastry like that should be. The croissant was salty and savory and buttery and eight thousand layers of heaven. I've been sleeping on this little coffee shop that is so close to my house but happy I finally went in to try their matcha and breakfast burrito. Apparently, people are saying the breakfast burrito is one of the best in the valley. I thought the burrito was pretty good for your basic egg, potato and bacon burrito.
