Another excellent coffee shop in Phoenix! There were so many drink options that it was hard to choose but I went with the staff recommendation- the slopes, a blueberry favored latte. It was delicious! I ordered to go and didn't get to enjoy the lovely indoor space. There is also an outdoor space too.
This is probably one of my favorite coffee shops in Phoenix. The inside of the shop is contemporary but has a speakeasy type of feel. They also have an outdoor patio. There's tons of gluten free options. I got the matcha latte with almond milk and a gluten free waffle. Everything was so good. I love their presentation. The service was quick and courteous. I love their attention to details. Definitely be back when I'm closer to downtown.
I got the Purple Bee and it was pretty decent. The coffee was smooth and I would definitely come back to try the infamous Bourbon Vanilla latte. The cashier was super helpful and pointed me in the right direction of what to get. The cafe is cozy and very aesthetic. I would definitely come back to work and enjoy their coffee.
Wow was a cute find! Nestled back in an industrial area, I was surprised to walk into such a fashionable, warm, welcoming coffee shop! I heard they go all out on themes (like Star Wars). After much discussion with the wonderfully helpful barista, I settled on the ceremonial iced matcha with a shot of rose, and the fruit bowl which is quite big! Cute patio with misters, or luxurious indoor velvet seats with speakeasy vibes. Definitely an unexpected find.
I didn't know what I was getting myself into before I walked into this place, but I'm glad I did. Someone really loves Star Wars. They had Lego Star Wars on tv. They had yoda balls. They had a full sci-fi menu. But they also had very nice people working, tasty food and a nice hot latte. That's exactly what I needed after a morning flight. I'd definitely go back the next time I fly into the Phoenix airport!
This week, I stopped in for a Yelp event and was blown away at the beautiful decor, drinks, food, and friendly staff. Star Wars + Coffee = a match made in heaven, or should I say space? My boyfriend is a Star Wars fan as well, so I had to go back a few days later to show him this amazing place when we were nearby at the Phoenix Zoo. That experience was also great, so I'll likely need to do an outing to take my Star Wars loving bestie out as she was mesmerized just by the pictures I shared with her. What We Ordered: - High Ground (Galactic Menu available until 5/31/2026) - espresso, milk, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate cold foam: so delicious that I returned days after a Yelp event to have this iced again! - Yoda Deviled Eggs (available until 5/31/2026): another repeat for me this week as I enjoyed it so much earlier this week! - Prime Rib Sliders: something new to try and we split. I really love spicy red pepper aioli as it added a nice heat to the slider, and some moisture as the prime rib was a bit tough. Not sure we'd order again due to that toughness, but the aioli was so delicious I'd see if it was on any other dish to order that to try next time. Yes, next time as I'm certain I'll return! Be sure to stop by before May 31st, 2026 to see the Star Wars theming! They even have a POD RACER! How cool. May the force be with you & SYOY!
If you're moving too fast, you may just drive past this place. It looks inconspicuous from the outside, but when you get inside, it's beautiful. They have abundance of food and drink choices. Staff embodies the true definition of "service with a smile." I got a matcha lemonade. That was delicious and I will definitely try this place again.
The Coffee Builders feels like one of downtown Phoenix's best hidden finds -- a tucked-away oasis on South 7th Street that shares its space and creative spirit with the adjacent wood and cement design/build studios. You can feel that maker energy immediately. We were impressed from the moment we parked. The coffee cup-shaped bike racks instantly caught my eye, especially as someone who bikes around downtown, and the parking lot features an incredible oversized art piece that looks like a futuristic space sled being pulled by two yellow rockets. Before you even walk in, the place already feels imaginative and special. Inside, the experience only gets better. Much of the interior and the spacious covered patio, with its many tables, were crafted by the owner, and it shows. From the ordering experience to the cozy, organic atmosphere, everything feels thoughtful and top-notch. The warm wood tones, intricate ceiling details, and inviting communal feel make it the kind of place that naturally encourages conversation. We ended up chatting with several other guests, along with a number of staff members, all of whom were genuinely welcoming and happy to share stories about the space, its history, the owner, and the neighborhood. The current rotating theme was Star Trek, which somehow even included Yoda-shaped deviled eggs -- quirky, memorable, and very much in the spirit of the place. We tried the lavash, pastries, a cappuccino, and a latte, and both the presentation and taste were excellent. Coffee Builders isn't just a coffee stop -- it feels like a community hub, an art space, and a warm neighborhood gathering place all at once. We were so impressed that we're already planning return visits, this time with friends and visitors in tow.

It feels like you walked into an East Coast College library meets West Coast cocktail lounge but instead you're able to visit bright and early and get your caffeine fix! Customer service is outstanding. They are patient barista's speaking in Starbucks terms for those new to visiting small chain coffee shops, but really are sure to tell you what they think might be best in a gentle way.! love the guidance! Beautiful silverware and bar wear utilized to present even more exquisite drinks! We will be back
This morning I had the pleasure of starting my Monday with a vanilla bourbon latte from Coffee Builders, and it was such a fun surprise. Pulling into the parking lot, I'll admit I was a little skeptical with the piles of wood from the neighboring lumber business, but the second you walk inside, it feels like stepping into a cozy speakeasy. Low lighting, velvet chairs, and such a charming atmosphere:) The only thing that didn't quite match the moody vibe, in the best way, was Tina, my barista. She was so friendly and energetic, and encouraged me to switch it up from my usual vanilla latte. I'm glad I listened! The drink was delicious, but the presentation really stole the show. The little flower on top was such a sweet touch. It wasn't overly sugary, definitely more of a true coffee drink with just the right hint of sweetness, which I loved. I'd absolutely come back and stay awhile. It feels like the perfect spot to sit quietly, sip something warm, and get lost in an audiobook for a bit.
A fellow Yelp reviewer suggested this spot for a downtown meeting, when I asked her about recommendations for places that had parking and a cool vibe. Coffee Builders checks all the boxes. Great, central location. Cool vibe, local ownership and great food and drinks. Note: I don't drink coffee, and they accommodated me by making something "off-menu." The breakfast quiche was great as was my blueberry refresher, a hybrid from their blueberry rose matcha.
You should go once for the ambiance and experience, but the food and drinks aren't that great. Based on what we had, the focus seems to be more on presentation than taste. First off, the space is amazing! Its upscale cocktail lounge meets coffee bar: blue leather banquettes, velour chairs, rich wood paneling and accent lights. I felt like I should be drinking a martini, not a cortado. The food, on the hand, is meh. The Yoda-themed deviled eggs were cute, but they are in the bottom half of deviled eggs I've eaten (and I'm a huge fan). Putting microgreens on a ham and cheese panini doesn't make it taste better, nor does putting a flower on top of a cortado or putting so-so orange juice in a nice glass. Service was great. Still, the food and drink could be more on point.
This place never ceases to impress me. I feel immediately like I've walked into a fairytale coffee shop. The beautiful woodwork and "speak easy" vibe with food and beverages that are as artsy as they are tasty. The staff is always helpful with suggestions and have never failed to give me good advice. Recently I tried their bourbon cold brew and I think it might be my new addiction. If ever in Phoenix no matter where you are staying it's worth the drive.
Boss took me for a belated birthday lunch. She's been here before and really enjoys it, and I can see why. The interior itself is very nicely decorated - comfortable and welcoming. Despite the small size, there is plenty of seating. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and service was excellent. Order at the counter and then they bring it to your table. Part of the menu changes based on the theme. Looks like we were there for the America 250 theme. I had the Dark Chocolate Chai (iced) which was delicious! Boss went with one of the state themed drinks. I think it was South Carolina. She loved it too. We shared the sandwiches - the Fire Roasted Chicken Salad, which is what the boss orders all the time apparently; and the Prime, Pimento and Blue Panini whichay be my favorite. I just love beef and blue cheese! The chicken was very good too, and there were several things on the menu that I'd love to try. This is a great little spot and I can see why she stops in regularly. It's out of the way for me, but maybe next time I'm up the street for a DBacks day game I'll drive a little further south for a sip and a bite! read more

Cute and cozy spot. I ordered an iced birthday cake latte along with the avocado toast and added a hard boiled egg on top. While the latte wasn't as sweet as I typically like them, I enjoyed it and it even came with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. I was a little skeptical when they bought the avocado toast.. it looked interesting. I was surprised how all the ingredients worked well together. I would definitely recommend this spot and be back! read more

My first time trying Coffee Builders since I happened to be in the area, and funnily enough... I don't even drink coffee! I was hoping they'd have some good tea options too, and they absolutely do. I ordered the iced peach black tea, and it was incredibly refreshing with a really nice peach flavor that wasn't overly sweet. The cashier was also super helpful in walking me through the menu and helping me decide what to order, which made for a great first impression. For breakfast, I got the avocado cream. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the chive cream was an absolute standout, it was so flavorful and ended up being the perfect dip for bites of the avocado toast. My only complaint is that it was pretty cumbersome to eat as served. I basically had to deconstruct the whole thing to enjoy it, so I think a different presentation would make the dish even better. The atmosphere was another highlight. It felt much more like a cocktail lounge than your typical coffee shop, which made it a really enjoyable place to sit and relax. Even though I can't personally vouch for the coffee, I had such a great experience that I can't wait to come back and next time I'll bring one of my coffee-loving friends to see if the coffee lives up to everything else! read more

As an esteemed coffee geek this is one of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. Got the bourbon barrel aged nitro with vanilla cream and infused with smoked white oak (see pics). The food was excellent too and staff was friendly and a nice and laid back environment, quiet enough to get work done. A must visit read more
This place knows coffee! The presentation of drinks is so well done and the drinks tasted so smooth. You can tell they care about their craft here. Danish tasted fresh. Staff were very friendly and the inside aesthetic is so nice. Couldn't recommend this place enough! Hoping I get the chance to visit during one of their themed drinks some time. read more

The greeting was above and beyond. The staff was incredibly friendly and made it feel like they already knew you, and they were clearly hustling. My husband ordered while we grabbed a seat outside. After noticing two tables who ordered after us get their food first, he went up to check on his waffle. The gentleman immediately came out, asked what we ordered, and rushed back to make it. He explained they were training and had missed the order, and said it would be comped. That said, our bill was still $27, which didn't quite add up for a latte and a $6 donut stack. Aside from that hiccup, the food and latte was okay. The donuts and waffles use the same batter and have a very similar texture, so I'd recommend ordering different items for more variety. Our kids did love the experience of making them though, which was a highlight. The outdoor patio was really nice and relaxing, kind of a hidden gem. We were a little unsure when we first pulled up, but the inside was actually very nice and felt more upscale than expected. read more

Kareem- thank you for showing us what to order. I loved my pistachio chocolate iced coffee. Sweet and oh so smooth. Word of advice, Kareem is a regular. Not an employee. If you find yourself at this adorable and fabulously curated coffee shop and Kareem comes up and makes suggestions on what to get AND even shows you what he ordered...listen to him. Kareem knows what he's talking about. Thanks for saying good bye to my daughter. I unfortunately had my nose in the phone because I was working on fixing an issue with a client. I had the Sumatra w lavender and honey. It wasn't a strong dark coffee flavor like I hoped. It was tasty and the blend was perfect w the added flavors. Next time I may try to the drip alone so I can get a taste of it. It's a very spacious place inside. Many seatings and booths around. Great spacious outdoor, dog friendly patio. You could certainly fit a large gaggle of friends or coworkers here. Baristas friendly and efficient. Hope to come back for one of their themes. read more

This place has excellent coffee, very unique selection of flavors and milks. Super friendly and fast service, interior is beyond awesome from an architectural standpoint. Also the Starbucks theme is sweet! Definite recommendation to all! read more

The Coffee Builders has been on my list for months. It's cool that they change themes every so often. We tried to come here once during their Star Wars theme but left when we learned there was an hour and a half wait to order. It was the middle of the day on a Saturday though, which I guess is a busy time... This time my friends and I decided to show up right at open and it was the perfect time. Not much of a line had formed yet and we were second in line to order. They had their Christmas/Harry Potter theme going which was super cool! The inside seating area is smaller but they also offer outdoor seating. I like that they have lots of food items to choose from and the drinks all sound great! I choose the Half Blood Chai drink, Avocado Dream toast and the Dumble Doughnut Stack. Everything was incredible!!! The doughnuts were thick and warm with multiple dipping sauces on the side. The toast was flavorful and filling too. My friend ordered the carnitas bowl and they did not skimp on the meat! Everyone working was super friendly too. Met up with a friend here on May 4th. I got the dark side drink (I think that's what it's called lol- dark cacao, strawberry, and black pepper). It was so good! I make a lot of coffee at home but I usually shy away from chocolate. The black pepper and strawberry intrigued me so I got it and was not disappointed! The dark cacao and strawberry flavors blended perfectly and the pepper was very subtle but there! My friend got the toasted marshmallow drink (can't remember the name) but she was in heaven with it! She also got the bacon deviled eggs which are always a hit. read more
This is our 1st stop after we arrive at Phoenix airport. It's nearby to airport, and easy to find, plenty parking. Order at the counter, quite interesting menu, has everything. We ordered their rice bowls, one Mexican one Teriyaki, both are great. I just wish the bowl is bigger so make it easy to stir. Other than that, totally great! Quick and efficient service. read more
We came here because of their reviews on yelp and didn't disappoint. When we entered this beautiful low light comfy vibe, we were greeted by friendly staff. I reviewed the menu prior to have an idea of what I wanted to try and went with the abuelita coco which was lovely. While waiting for our drinks we noticed an ube drink on the menu and the staff was so sweet and offered to add the flavor to my husbands coffee. Abuelitas coco: 9/10 (the spice level was intense but worked) Late with ube flavor: 8/10 (my husband said he would prefer a stronger ube flavor) Blueberry danish: 8/10 loved that it was not sweet and light and airy. Overall, we will definitely be back to try other drinks. read more

This place is sick! You'll know it when you walk in and wonder what is so different about the woodwork. The owner and his team designed all the woodwork in this place to create a uniquely crafted ambiance. The employees are uniquely sweet and efficient, very devoid of pretension you often run into at coffee shops. Haven took great care of me at the register. The chicken salad sandwich was worth the buy! The Star Wars themed beverage I got was unique to be sure. This is definitely a place you take a date to impress them... or 3 small kids so they have outdoor seating to crawl around on. read more

I've been wanting to try Coffee Builders long before it became a social media viral hot spot. Every now & then they do fun & unique themes while still keeping their staple menu around. Some themes include Lego, Harry Potter, & Star Wars to name a few. On their everyday menu, you will find a very unique drink selection. My go to is the Fire & Ice Kentucky. This bourbon based coffee has such a smooth, Smokey and robust flavor that is topped with white oak wood then torched to perfection giving it that smooth and Smokey flavor. Another favorite is the Abuelita Coco coffee. This Mexican spiced chocolate and white chocolate duo will have you coming back for more. You truly cant go wrong with any drink you get here. Everything is beautifully plated and even the food is delicious! We love the dark, gloomy and moody ambiance of the inside. The seating even gives it that bit of an upscale touch feeling like you're at a "candlelight dinner". Service is always excellent everytime we have gone. Coffee Builders will always be on our go to coffee spots. Cheers! read more

Still outstanding coffee. They have specialty themed menus and they go all out to decorate the property in support of the chosen theme. Staff are always super friendly, drinks are always perfectly executed and taste delicious. Since I don't live close by anymore, I made sure to grab a couple of bags of beans to make their coffee at home. Whenever I'm in town, this place is a must visit. read more

I am so sad that I discovered this place and I don't live close by. I wish I tried more from the menu, but I was limited in space in my belly. The avocado toast was probably the best toast I've ever had in my life. It was fresh whatever they put the tomatoes and onions in was so good. I also got this type of peanut butter coffee, I can't remember the name of it but they had a in-house peanut butter sauce, that was really good. It was not too sweet pretty much perfection. read more
So I planned on going to a different coffee shop but they were closed on Mondays, then I came across The Coffee Builders. I have actually seen them before on Instagram for their Star Wars themed pop up. Luckily they had another themed pop up while we visited, Harry Potter. I know nothing about Harry Potter but my hubby was very happy with all the details and I always love a good pop up! There were so many interesting drinks on the menu but we went with the half blooded chai and the blueberry rose matcha. I will honestly be craving the half blooded chai for awhile! I discovered Coffee Builders on May the 4th. It is a big celebration day for Star Wars fans and Coffee Builders put together a themed menu for their customers. They are already known for their creative food and unique coffee drinks. Coffee Builders adds flavors like cabernet, vanilla bourbon and black truffle to their lattes. I ordered their The Forest Moon of Endor drink which is a nod to the Ewoks planet in Return of the Jedi. The Coffee Builders is located in the heart of the Downtown Phoenix Warehouse District near Chase Field. I love the ambiance here. They nerded the place out on May of 4th with fun Star Wars decorations. This is a coffee shop that I could hang out and chill for most of the day. The staff is helpful in describing their drinks. The Coffee Builders also has good food here. I love the creativity of some of their items. Some of my favorite items are the Ube Waffles and Champagne Deviled Eggs. They also have salads, sandwiches and Smørrebrød on their menu. read more

Everything is awesome! The ambiance is fun (Harry Potter themed), service is exceptional, and the food is delicious! We tried the carnitas bowl (delicious), fruit cup (delicious) and avocado toast (not my fave - unique twist with onion and tomato). This was my first time visiting The Coffee Builders, and I'm so glad I stopped by and checked them out. I enjoyed a yummy honey lavender latte and a loaded avocado toast. Service means so much to me, especially in the morning. It's always so nice to be greeted by an employee with a genuine, warm smile who takes the time to share what sets the coffee shop apart from others. I also love when they share their favorites. To me, it says a lot about an establishment when the employees seem happy. Ambiance was also great, perfect place to get some work done or take yourself on a coffee date. read more

A little on the pricey treat yo'self side, but worth every penny. Lots of parking. I visited The Coffee Builders a few months ago on a trip and have been yapping to my husband about it ever since. Finally got to take him this weekend and it was just as good as I remembered. Interior is both casual and impressive. Staff seems really into being there, so rare to see anymore. Drinks: I did an iced pistachio latte (mocha on menu, I removed the mocha because this was my 2nd drink of the morning ) Husband had an iced orange mocha. Both were absolutely fantastic and so cute. This isn't just coffee, these are truly crafted drinks. Food was pretty good. I realized they rotate menu items and ingredients. Which totally makes sense. My avocado toast was great, but different than my first visit. Lavash bbq flatbread. Yummy. Came out so hot. With so much competition in Phoenix for exceptional coffee don't miss stopping here at least once. Can't wait to return! read more
I am in love with this concept coffee shop. Every month or two, they change out the theme of their coffee shop and they really commit. The month before I visited was Star Wars themed, but I made sure to not miss it when they announced the Lego themed coffee shop. They thought of everything. The Menu was build as if Lego came in and designed it themselves. Different color bricks to choose from, fun Lego themed craft coffees, legos on the tables for people to build with; I was in heaven. Beyond this specific build, the ambiance of the shop is immaculate. They had Avatar The Last Airbender playing on the TVs in the vibey interior, and an outdoor seating garden that makes you feel like you're anywhere but downtown Phoenix. Also worth mentioning that the staff brought the drinks and food to our table, and we hardly had to wait even 5 minutes for both dispute them being insanely busy. I will never stop raving about this experience, or this business. Please go experience it for yourself, you won't be disappointed! read more
