Inside the coffee shop/art gallery/film lab

This coffee shop is also an art gallery and film lab while also making superb coffee! It's a creative space with an industrial, modern, and futuristic atmosphere that I enjoyed! Plus, they're dog friendly which automatically makes me love them even more! What I ordered: Shakerato: smooth, strong, & had a perfect level of sweetness Chocolate croissant was really good too!

09/06/2025 This coffee shop is highly rated, so my friend and I stopped by on a Saturday morning around 9:30AM. We thought parking might be a problem since it's in Phoenix, but it's in the Desert Sun Plaza which has its own parking lot. There was plenty of parking at that time, probably because the restaurants around there weren't open yet. There were just a couple of people in the cafe, but it got a bit busier around 10AM. The space looked very artistic and featured sculptures and drawings for sale from local artists. They also have a film lab in there which adds to the creative aesthetic. The café offers the typical espresso options like macchiato, cortado, cappuccino, and lattes. For teas, they have black iced tea and ceremonial grade matcha. The matcha was listed as sweetened with local honey, vanilla, and fleur d'orange. The barista asked if I wanted it sweetened with honey, and I declined it. I really appreciated that they asked and didn't just assume that I wanted it sweetened. For milk options, it was just whole milk or oat milk. I got it with whole milk, and the drink was perfect. It took about 10 minutes to get my drink, but it was worth the wait. In the meantime, we browsed the artwork and merch. My friend got the vanilla latte, but she said they added too much vanilla to her liking. They sell pastries too but didn't have any when we were there - I wonder if they sold out already? This place is pretty quiet, so it'd be a good spot to work from, but probably not for a coffee date/catch-up.

Aftermarket is a coffee shop meets underground art gallery tucked away in the Arts District of AZ. To get here, street parking will be your best bet and there is a good amount of it all around the area. Inside, they have a modern industrial setup with a good amount of seating and an art gallery in the back of the shop. They have a spacious setup with about 4-5 tables inside and a couple tables outside as well. For their menu, they have a nice selection of different coffee and matcha drinks. I got the Strawberry Banana Matcha drink and it had a good balance of sweetness. Overall, I enjoyed perusing around the shop and checking out the art they have in the shared space. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Stop by to check out the art, grab a drink, and come back to thank me later for the put on!

Good coffee and very nice baristas. Outdoor sign can be easy to miss, but good quiet location with side parking. Lots of indoor seating and good ambience regarding music and art.

Art gallery meets coffee shop. It has industrial vibes, all while being inviting. The artwork is eclectic, the space is interesting to explore, and the drinks are very tasty. I only wish they had some decaf options for those of us who are sensitive to caffeine. A very nice barrista who was friendly and helpful with recommendations. Street parking was easy to find on a Saturday afternoon. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Killer iced chai with orange blossom, honey, and cinnamon. Service was great and the inside is clean and futuristic. Street parking available.

This place is purely vibes. Right away you walk in to a dj spinning some great beats and a super social environment. There is also a small film shop/developer inside which is nice if you're into that. The service was so friendly but our drinks did take a while but they were very busy so it makes sense! The chai was very milky but alright and the coffee was strong but flavorful. If you love visiting social coffee shops this place is for you!

This under the radar coffee shop is fantastic. The space is fantastic for working on your laptop or socializing. The spot is just on the side off Grand Ave. and feels cool and modern. The space is bright and lined with cool photographs and art. There is ample seating to either sit alone or with others. The staff here is great. Every time I have gone the baristas have been very friendly and helpful. I've told them what kind of drink I'm feeling like and they point me towards something very, very flavorful that hits the spot. I recommend the bizou. This coffee drink has a hint of honey in it that makes your standard iced coffee even better. The chai is also great and easily beats out any that I've had at other cafes. The signage isn't super clear on the building so be sure to look out for the pop up sign on the sidewalk. The spot is to the left of Bacanora a few doors down. Parking is pretty easy around the cafe with street parking and a big lot between Grand and 15th.

    Matcha

:( I physically felt the chunks in each sip of this drink and white chunks would be left on my lips after drinking. There were millions of them. Most of the drink was just chunks. This was so gross and I'm not sure why I was served this tbh...like if I made someone a drink and saw that there were millions of chunks in it I'd probably check in with myself to see what went wrong and not give it to them pretending like nothing's wrong. The place is cute though but the guy working didn't seem like he cared. It just sucks wasting my money.

Stopped by on a Friday afternoon really chill easy street parking. Love the vibe and aesthetic of this place - very unique. I'm not the biggest coffee drinker so asked for a recommendation. The barista was very friendly and walked us through what we liked etc. we settled on the shakerato and a Lumio matcha latte. Don't really remember how he broke it down but they were both amazing. Coffee was fruity and strong but not overbearing, and the latte was complex with orange blossom honey and high quality matcha. Both drinks were 10/10 and $13 for both of them. Highly recommend this nice vibe, great drinks.

The look of this place is so cool, definitely different from any coffee shop I've been too but I'm a matcha hunter I'm looking for a good and reliable place for a matcha latte and this wasn't it the matcha was very milky and lacked flavor but definitely a cool place

Loved this place, very much my aesthetic with the art and industrial style interior. There are some items for sale inside as well. The barista was super helpful explaining all the drinks. I got the Matcha Bizou and my boyfriend got the Shakerato. The Matcha Bizou had a really good color and foam that is indicative of good matcha, I know because I used to work at a matcha cafe. The subtle sweetness was perfect for my taste. The orange blossom flavor was very very subtle, not sure if I'd be able to tell on my own. Regardless, it was very good. The Shakerato was also very good. There was some sweetness from the brown sugar, but it still maintained the tasteful bitterness from the espresso. Another drink that wasn't too sweet, perfect for my taste. Would definitely come again and try some of the other drinks.

Prior to going, I thought to myself: what can possibly make this weekly event so amazing. I thought I would be underwhelmed, Boy, was I wrong! I checked out the Art Walk for the first time in February. It took me a little while to find parking. Scottsdale has plenty of free street parking (which I always appreciate), including surface lots, but this is a popular event. After circling around for a few minutes, I was able to find a spot. In my opinion, here's the best way to enjoy the experience...have it come to you organically. Which is tough to say coming from someone who is a planner. Just walk around and walk into any and all of the art galleries that seem interesting to you. Of course, you can visit all of these galleries outside of the Scottsdale Art Walk. What makes this experience different is that rather than closing around 5 p.m., they keep their doors open late. Many of them will also offer complimentary drinks including wine, champagne, and cocktails. Awesome! With it being Scottsdale, you'll see a focus on Western and Native American art. That is not by any means the extent of what you'll find though. Some art galleries specialize in other styles of painting including surrealism, abstract art, French impressionism, or pointillism. Are y'all impressed with my knowledge of art? All of the art books I read when I was a kid are coming in clutch now. The art is generally quite expensive so I didn't buy anything but I still very much enjoyed the experience. You're also likely to find entertainment on the streets e.g. musicians and street performers. My favorite of the bunch I saw was a Native American performance. There are also Gold Palette Walks which are special versions of the weekly Scottsdale Art Walk. I haven't been to one of these, so I can't touch on how they compare, but I would like to at some point. I feel like a Scottsdale Art Walk is an experience all locals should check out at some point!
