Such a cute place! The drinks we got here were EXCELLENT--from the seasonal specials, we tried the orange latte and the mango matcha. I was super surprised by how much I loved the orange latte since I didn't think the flavors would pair well together. The mango matcha was refreshing and not overly sweet. I visited Case Study with my mom on a Sunday in the late morning. There is limited parking around the restaurant but we did find some street parking very close to the entrance. Case Study was not busy when we arrived so we did not have to wait to order. The menu offered a lot of different coffee and tea options which I appreciated. They even had a variety of fun seasonal drinks. I ordered an iced vanilla matcha while my mom ordered a latte with orange flavoring, it even came with a slice of orange on top. They seemed to have a nice variety of food options as well but we did not get any at that time. There is a limited amount of seating in the coffee shop so we chose to take our drinks to go. Parking can be a little difficult as it's on the corner of a commercial building on a busy street. I got a maple vanilla latte with oat milk. The coffee itself was very bitter and if I didn't choose two flavors and just chose one I feel like I might not have been able to drink the latte. I'm giving them three stars because the staff was nice and they did a great job of making sure everyone was serviced in a short amount of time. I was out doing errands today and decided to treat myself to a coffee and snack here at Case Study Coffee Lounge, after seeing that this was a top place to drink in Phoenix, according to Yelp Phoenix. This coffee shop is downtown so I was worried about parking, but there is a private parking lot and more parking in the back. I liked how it felt calm and relaxing when entering the café, which is quite a difference from the busy street and downtown activity. There are muted colors, concrete material, and real wood incorporated everywhere throughout the café, from the mid-century modern furniture to the signature wood planking around the bar and throughout the seating area. There are couches and chairs and a bar along the window at the front of the café. There is also extensive seating in the back of the café. There is a large couch at the back end of the cafe, and several long tables and bar tables and chairs lining both walls. Many students and adults were here on their laptops working or meeting. The barista who helped me was very friendly and when I let him know this was my first time in, he was patient with me and explained everything on the menu. When I asked what he preferred, he let me know what he thought was good. Though I see in the description that the house-made rosemary vanilla syrups are very good here, I decided on ordering a seasonal special that will be gone from the menu soon: - Hot Spanish Latte (Sweetened condensed milk, espresso, nutmeg) I used whole milk in my latte. The barista explained this would taste best with the condensed milk sweetness. - Strawberry Toast (Noble sourdough, cream cheese, strawberries, crumbled pistachios, lemon zest, and agave) I don't like my coffee overly sweets, and this coffee was just right for me. It was creamy and slightly sweet from the condensed milk, and there was a dash of nutmeg that was barely evident. This was a nice subtle latte. I loved it. This strawberry toast really blew me away. It seemed like such a simple meal, but the flavors were so delicious and the sweetness contrasting with the quality sourdough bread was so good. I think this toast actually outshined the coffee for me. The presentation of the toast was also phenomenal. I would come back here just for this strawberry toast Notice the generous sprinkling of whole & crumbled pistachios on top! When the drinks and meals are ready, your name is called and you pick up your order at the bar or kitchen door. If you eat in the café, return your dishes to the tub on top of the trash bin. Upon entering you can tell the space was aesthetically thought out despite the small footprint (soon to change as they are expanding to offer more seating soon!). Their coffee is incredible. I can appreciate a simple drip coffee or plain latte but specialty lattes and drinks are my jam, and Case Study really delivers on their seasonal offerings. I tried the Brown Sugar Sage latte and it floored me-- the perfect mix of warm herby sage with a touch of sweetness from the brown sugar. My partner ordered a Rosemary Vanilla latte and we both agreed it was so tasty and well-balanced. The baristas are so friendly and kind, fostering a wonderful atmosphere! The baristas are very friendly and clearly are passionate about what they do. You feel their energy in a good way. The coffee menu is bold and memorable. Will is a master of his crafts, both woodworking (the furniture gracing the space of Case Study is STUNNING) and coffee. The staff he has hired are top notch. Enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. They make their espresso drinks to the correct ratios! Caps are 5-6oz, lattes are 8oz. They have seasonal drinks which are always fun and quite delicious. They make their flavored syrups in-house. Basically, they've checked all the boxes of a serious and real coffee house. Favorite drinks so far: Rosemary/vanilla latte, regular cappuccino, mint infused cold brew. They also have food! The ubiquitous avocado toast is done well here and their savory crepe is my favorite. I look forward to trying their sweet crepes someday soon! (Of note: the crepes can take a little longer, so be patient.) Because the space is fairly small, arrive early for seating on the gorgeous furniture! This is our second time visiting this coffee shop. We ordered a Vanilla Rosemary Latte with Oatmilk, a Latte with Honey, Cinnamon and Oatmilk, a Handpie from Mark Chaconne and an Avocado Toast with an egg. We paid a total of $46.81 with tip. Both lattes were amazing. Our favorite was the Vanilla Rosemary latte. The espresso shot was pulled perfectly and the coffee did not taste acidic or burnt at all. The vanilla and rosemary are well balanced and it doesn't taste overwhelming at all. The pastry was very good. You can never go wrong with Mark Chaconne pastries. The avocado toast was very tasty. The bread was a little chewy as it is not toasted. I personally prefer to toast the bread as the avocado can make it soggy. I would it give a solid 8/10. The staff is very kind and welcoming.
