Good coffee, great options, polite staff. Parking at night is a little tricky, when the night life is active the area gets busy. It doesn't take away from the experience. Customer service is awesome! Staff is friendly, they work at a great pace, maintained great composure while things got busy. I got the Dirty Chai! It tasted great, kept me awake, and was awesome. The rest of their menu looked great as well, you can see a lot of trendy drinks such as Dubai Chocolate, Pastries, Matcha etc. The layout of the restaurant is beautiful! The furniture is cute, and during the day I'm sure it has more of an elegant feel. My only concern is the restroom, a little dirty, clogged sink which made washing your handles feel a little gross, but not too bad. These are the places I wish we had in east Mesa. Hopefully sooner than later, but for now, gotta drive to Phoenix. Actually didn't head to downtown for the bakery. Visiting a friend at banner university hospital, and I knew that area has coffee and corner high end bakeries tucked away. This was my chance to make the 42 minute drive worth it. Did my yelp search and Dolce Italia caught my eye. Food: nice choice of fine tortes, cakes, tiramisu. I can always go for tiramisu, but broke out of my comfort zone and tried tres leche cake with a dark clear caramel topping - delicious. Not super sweet, but dense. Accompanied that with a cappuccino. Could have been a little dryer (you often get more of a latte) but overall very good cappuccino. Didn't realize they also serve sandwiches, pasta, pizza, and gelato. Small amount of seating, but quaint. Young man serving was very friendly. Obvious family affair. I want to find an excuse to return. Will take the wife there. I wish I had a photo of the tres leches baklava cheesecake I had last night, but it was way too good to wait so I had to go back again this morning for a Dubai chocolate latte. Everyone was so nice, and I forgot the baker's name, but she was seriously the sweetest. The fresh cannoli and the crème brûlée macaron was probably some of the best I've ever had in my life! Confession, I am a dessert guy overall in terms of food I will always go desserts for food and this place had it all you had can choose from gelato from cakes, both cheesecake and chocolate cake cakes, and you have different varieties of chocolate and it was just a comic book fairytale type of location that combines the Middle Eastern flavors with some popular taste like carrot cake, and irregular cheesecake but you could also get baklava and Dubai chocolate. Service was great when we went there and it was not too long of a wait they were pretty attentive and they also gave me a free hot water which I appreciated. read more

I have been here two times for lunch. First time I had the Paris Chicken Pasta, and the second time I had the Lasagna. Both were excellent!

What a gem of a find! This is a small shop walking distance from the convention center with the cutest interior and most friendly staff/owner! We stopped in for a lunch break from a conference. The handmade pastas including ravioli and lasagna were absolutely amazing. The pizza was just okay. Their desserts are a highlight--she does not bake with any unnecessary sugar but uses syrups or honey instead where she can. The desserts are just perfectly sweetened without being too sweet. Her macarons have perfect chew and are nicely filled out shells. The tiramisu was fantastic as well. Check out this relatively new restaurant and support them to grow! read more

This place is super cute! It's located just around the corner from the hubbub on Roosevelt Row. There is a very European feel about it with velvet upholstered and bistro chairs on frilly iron tables. I absolutely love the rose covered telephone booth and the blue panel front counter. They serve flavored coffees here, as well as pizzas, fresh pasta, sandwiches, and a wonderful variety of desserts in a long case. You know up to the counter to order and pay and then your food will be brought to your table. We ordered the Milano sandwich with mortadella and prosciutto, which was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a Mekk's Signature pizza, which has prosciutto and arugula on it. Definitely different than some of the pizzas were used to around here, but it was so yummy. We topped it off by sharing a slice of very rich and luscious chocolate layer cake. We enjoyed the pizza and sandwich so much that we are making plans to return for the pasta. We tried the carrot cake, cappuccino, and a hot latte. Everything was AMAZING. Service was exceptional, it's a family owned business. A woman came out and greeted us warmly - I gave her compliments on the beautiful plates/mugs/ decor. Very comfortable ambiance. All the food options are so beautiful and they're being freshly made in the back and brought out by a family member. This is just what downtown Phoenix needed. A super lovely family owned cafe with affordable pricing and the best pastries. They have free password protected wifi if you want to work remotely for a few hours here. If you want oat milk, almond milk or any substitutions like that they will do it for free! Yes, no extra charges. It was a bit early for me to order a slice of cake but the owner said she's making 5 kinds of tiramisu available around 1pm (strawberry, Dubai, lemoncello, traditional, and pistachio). I ordered a small vanilla iced latte and the family gave me a medium which was too kind! It was my first time visiting and I did ask for more espresso and she did it for me at no charge. WOW! I'm telling you, this really is a lovely small business to support. On the weekends they have the freshest pastries! So definitely come back for those on Saturday and Sunday. If you just need a quick energy drink, they have incredibly affordable bottles of coca colas, coconut waters, arizona iced teas, rockstars, gatorades, Celsius, Fiji and smart water and more. These are all around $2-3 and some change. Nice! I came in here for a morning cafe before starting work. This cafe is also cute in the morning because you can take some really cute photos inside at the telephone booth or at the table with the natural sunlight shining through. I was surprised by how good the food was here and the portions. We stopped in for a little bring to go as we were walking by. We got the bird's nest, which comes with 2 and we got MEKK special sandwich which was huge, but fortunately already cut in half. The sandwich was so full of flavor and I lived the crusty bread. Dolce Italia is such a pretty place and the pastries match the aesthetics followed by great customer service. There were many Dubai Chocolate pastries to choose from which was exciting since I've heard of it but hadn't tried it yet. The once we picked was so good and the little "crunchies" gave it an added surprise light texture and then you get hit with delicious dark chocolate. We also had a delicate lemon cake. It wasn't an overwhelmingly strong lemon flavor, just right. We also had the cannoli which was ok compared to the other 2 desserts. The machine needs service or to be cleaned.it had a burnt, sour flavor that even the sugar couldn't mask. The limoncello cake lacked lemon flavor. It was dry too. They were out of cannolis so I went with the cake. Service was great though. Cashier was friendly and attentive . But I would only go again to take pictures maybe not to buy anything, even though I really wanted the cannoli. *Update in response to the owner* Everyone's palate is different I'll give you that. Went here with a group of friends. This place is pretty pricey, $9 a slice for the pistachio mascarpone. Honestly it tasted 100% just like the one from Costco. I almost got a macaroon but they were on a tray you get from the boxes you buy in the store. So I decided against it. Presentation is a lot to me at places like this. We landed in Phoenix on Monday and headed straight to this stunning and peaceful cafe we found on IG. We had planned on having lunch but Nancy(barista/cashier/super star) politely told us they do not serve lunch on Mondays. We decided to have a drink and pastry while there. Both my sister and I phones were dying. Nancy pointed us in the direction of a store that sold car phone chargers BUT she went above and beyond to call and check that they actually had them in stock. We went back Wednesday before leaving Phoenix to have lunch. I ordered the Paris Chardonnay sauce chicken pasta and my sister ordered the Roma tortellini with strawberry lemonades. The pasta dishes were out of this world. We had to get deserts. My sister had the lemon cake again and I bought the Pistachio mascarpone(which omg so good) We had to tell the owner what a gem she has in Nancy. But the owner was also super sweet and attentive. Came to Phoenix for the first time with my sister and this was our first stop upon arrival. We walked in and instantly fell in love with how beautiful the place looked. We were welcomed in by a lovely young lady named Nancy who went above and beyond to provide the best experience. We were unaware that food was not available on Mondays at this establishment but we ordered a strawberry matcha and both the lemon cake and a pistachio tiramisu. Everything was spectacular! The combination of the excellent customer service and the food surpassed our expectations so much so that we decided to come back for a second time today. Support local businesses! We came here right when they opened and they were so accommodating. Dolce Italia recently opened its doors in downtown Phoenix. They have pizza, pasta/ravioli, sandwiches, and lots of pastry options. They also have Dubai chocolate. My pink lemonade was just ok, but the food was really good, especially the desserts. My friend and I shared a medium pizza, and it was plenty enough for 2, with a couple of slices left over that we brought home. We also shared two homemade desserts. I think there are cheap options for some items if you come at the right time, but ours were just under $10 each, which is a bit pricey. The pistachio tiramisu is excellent, we appreciated that it was not too sweet. The limoncello cake was really good too. Beautiful space with flowers and a pink phone booth. Not much in terms of seating options, but the setting was cute and we didn't have to wait for a table on a Saturday afternoon. It seemed there was a bit of confusion with the service, we saw our food get delivered to other tables before making its way to us, and got other tables' food delivered to us as well. The pizza was brought to our table but we had to ask to get two paper plates, which I thought would have been standard (and then we had to get the silverware and napkins ourselves - not a big deal at all, just wish we had been told and shown where to get them when we ordered). Wow! We stumbled upon this place because we parked in front of it and boy are we glad! We all shared the pistachio tiramisu and it was probably one of my top five most delicious desserts I've ever had. It wasn't too sweet which is how I like desserts. The wife makes them that way on purpose. We also had the pistachio cookies which were amazing. The family staff were friendly and helpful. The decor is cozy and so cute. This place is tucked away at the bottom of a high rise living space in downtown PHX. Very cute outside with the smallest sign over their front door. I've passed it multiple times thinking it was just a dessert shop which isn't a bad thing just not a me thing. Thankfully my beautiful bride had a birthday this week and was able to come meet me for lunch so I choose here since she came to me and she loves Italian desserts and cute! This place crushed all those things as it's one of the most eye pleasing places to sit and enjoy some time. I simply had an iced dopio (double shot espresso) and my wife ordered the prosciutto sandwich. We were really disappointed to hear the fresh bread wouldn't be ready in time and this I think caused a distraction and our sandwich to have the house sauce to be on the sandwich instead of on the side. However we loved our time the views all made my wife feel very special reminder her of quant little spots from her time in Italy. Both were priced at the best prices you'll find for this quality in Downtown Phoenix, with both under 15 dollars. The recipes were clearly fresh and homemade.
