I put my name on the waitlist when we were on our way and by the time we parked and walked over we were next to be seated. The service was perfect. I mean these guys are efficient! The waiter came by with waters, asked for additional drinks and was such a genuine server. No bells and whistles, but polite and professional. I like it. My receipt says Nathan F as his name. The place is small, but has additional outdoor seating to the side. Quaint, I'd call it. Food: Yum. Everything came quickly and hot, the expeditor made sure we had everything before he left, also great service. I ordered the Sunshine Pancake breakfast with the chicken sausage. Great freaking choice. Baby Daddy got the chicken fried steak, and the Munchkins Pancakes for the little one. My eggs were a little runnier than I like, but I'm hard to please when it comes to my egg order, so I gotta try the eggs over medium to see if they can make it. The chicken sausage was tasty, a good little kick to them, but I wish I had tried their regular sausages too. The star of the meal- the gawsh darn pancakes. Baby daddy said it was a little too sweet for him but they were fluffy disks of pure perfection to me. Sweet, a little crisp on the outside but still oh so fluffy! Morning after brunch with the girls didnt disappoint. The menu has so much so we ordered a few things to share. French toast, waffles, pancakes, sausage and gravy. Everyone loved the meal! We sat outside and enjoyed chatting it up and drinking breakfast cocktails and coffees, matcha. All the food was hot and fresh, and with so many of us ordering we were pleasantly surprised that all the orders were accurate. Staff was super friendly and helpful. She made a few recommendations and we went with it. The menu has options for everyone so if you worried about your picky friends/family, they are bound to find something they like here. A couple of years on, this is still my favorite breakfast place. I've settled in a rotation of my favorites. Someone suggests we meet for breakfast, I say let's go to Sunshine. There are a couple of servers here who are phenomenal and I'm willing to wait a little longer to be seated in their sections. Most recent visit was a birthday breakfast and I got a free cinnamon roll which was huge and delicious. It's a bit noisy inside and always bustling so keep that in mind. The decor is cheerful and bright. This place is hoppin' on weekend mornings so plan accordingly. read more

My wife and I joined our friends for brunch today, and they suggested the Sunshine Breakfast Bar as a new option. We were able to go onto Yelp to place ourselves on the waitlist in advance, and then we headed out there a bit later with a minimal wait. After checking in with the host stand upon arrival, we found ourselves on the covered patio a few minutes later. The parking, however, was a bit more challenging to find, but the further back we drove in the complex, the more open spaces were there. The Sunshine Breakfast Bar has a nice breakfast/brunch menu and a menu also for those wanting lunch. They are open daily from 7 AM to 2 PM. The restaurant is also now open (or so I think) at a new location in Tempe on Baseline. When signing up for the reward club, we were asked for our birthday; I assume there will be some sort of birthday freebie or deal when the time comes. You can also sign in on their website to learn about offers and see your profile. When I first logged in last night, it said I was a member since 2018, so I'm assuming that this restaurant got its member list from another restaurant at one point since today was my first visit there. The other highlights for our meal today were that we received fast service, the food was very tasty, and they have a dog-friendly patio. I ordered the Classic Pancake which consisted of two sweet cream pancakes topped with butter, syrup on the side, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. My wife ordered a Create Your Own Omelette, which provided us three eggs and a choice of 1 cheese item plus any 3 veggie or meat options. She chose cheddar cheese, tomatoes, and onions. Her meal also came with homestyle potatoes and bakery style sour dough toast. We split both meals in half so that we both could try two dishes. We loved both meals! It's been year and we came back again for breakfast. We're on the way back to CA. Vanilla Lattes. Kids breakfasts and I had the really good biscuits and gravy, and Anber had the eggs Benedict. She liked it but she likes bacon and sliced tomato on hers. And it was not on the menu. We like this restaurant and will be back again in 2026. Parking is limited. It's a small strip mall. Our sons were playing in a soccer tournament at Reach 11 Sports Complex. We had some time before our flight back home so we opted to look for a breakfast spot. We checked out Yelp and found the Sunshine Breakfast Bar was 5 minutes away! We were impressed from the get-go because it was super busy! Thankfully we only had to wait about 10 minutes. Walking in we noticed what a fun place it seemed to be - upbeat vibe and lots of people! We sat down and were able to order pretty quickly as we had had time to look at the menu beforehand. Everything tasted great! The eggs were cooked perfectly (over hard with the yolks broken), the ham steaks were not too salty and the pancakes were light and fluffy! Sat on the patio which is fully shaded, which is a blessing in July in Phoenix. It was a little warm at first since the breeze was blowing the misters the wrong direction (rude), but still totally manageable. A fan or two wouldn't hurt, but once the breeze shifted, it actually felt fantastic. Definitely give it a chance, even in the heat. Nathan was our server and he crushed it--friendly, attentive, checked in often without hovering. Basically the kind of server you want everywhere but rarely get. Hello Sunshine - orange vodka, Cointreau, orange juice, Sprite. This one? Orange to the max. Bubbly, bright, citrus-on-citrus love in the best way. Gave Orangina-meets-mimosa vibes, and I would honestly choose this over a mimosa. I could've gone full "drink an entire pitcher to myself" mode. Would sip again. And again. And again. Peanut Butter Espresso - Skrewball, cold brew, whipped cream, chocolate chips, half and half. Dessert in a glass. Thick, rich, chocolatey, and the cold brew was actually solid. But, and this is a peanut butter-sized but, the Skrewball got totally lost. One of our favorite spirits and you'd never know it was in there. A drink having a midlife crisis. Sunshine Signature Bloody Mary - I chose spicy, duh. Went with green chile vodka (again--duh), and it comes decked out with bacon and blue cheese stuffed olives. The chile vodka hit like a freight train... not my favorite. Sent it back for regular vodka with extra heat, and Nathan came through like a hero. Take two was absolutely dialed in--spice, flavor, garnish game were all on point. My only note would be the remake was just a basic bloody, no bacon or blue cheese olives, which I was looking forward to. Not a complaint, just a bummer. Breakfast Mule - cucumber for the husband (as per usual), with ginger beer, lime, and mint. I'm not a cucumber fan and I still liked it. Gave top-tier cucumber lime Gatorade vibes if Gatorade put on a blazer and went to brunch. Light, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. Total sleeper hit. If I couldn't get the Hello Sunshine, this would be my second choice. Chicken Fried Steak - two eggs (over hard), homestyle potatoes, and sourdough (we subbed a biscuit and added an over-medium egg for me). Eh. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't live up to the hype. The biscuit was tasty--fluffy and just a little overdone--but the steak and gravy felt like they came from a school cafeteria. Potatoes looked good but phoned it in. Not a single trace of seasoning, though it may have been waved in the general direction of the salt shaker. Menu overall was basic. Nothing wrong with that if you execute well, but it missed the mark. No dish jumped out as worth coming back for. Unless we're already at Costco, this probably isn't a repeat stop. Drinks and service? Great. But food-wise, it was more meh than meal. read more

I think Boerne has found a keeper in "Sunny's". We were greeted with friendly faces and quickly seated. The service was exceptional throughout our whole dining experience. We even had the manager stop at our table to introduce herself which was an added bonus. The food was fresh, innovative and they offered many healthy, tasty menu choices. We couldn't have been more pleased with our 1st time to Sunny's and can only hope they keep up the great vibe and dishing out terrific plates. We decided to try a different spot for brunch than our usual spot and were not disappointed! There was a wait for a regular table but we are able to be seated at the bar right away where Ky, the bartender, greeted us happily. I got a prickly pear mule and my friend got a espresso martini, creamy at Ky's suggestion. Both of our drinks were fantastic and hit the spot. My friend really loved the martini with Ky's creamy twist. I got the croissant sandwich with bacon and home style potatoes and my friend got the sunshine bowl. My sandwich was really good with a fluffy (though flat) croissant with perfectly cooked eggs and crispy bacon with melted cheese. The potatoes were fantastic! Best potatoes I've had since Carnival cruise lines. My friend also really loved her power bowl and ate every bite of it. Loved Ky, the food, and the drinks. We'll definitely be back! read more

I order eggs bene quite often, I'm a fan of them and even the option of Benedict's and the flavor of this one is the best! Even my husband, not a frequent bene person asked for more bites! The sauce is perfect, not too thick, runny, or bland, and the thinly sliced ham and perfectly poached egg was all balanced so well (ratio-wise). - House potatoes, MUST! They're like breakfast scalloped potatoes with such great seasoning and crispy edges. Great version of breakfast potatoes. - Pancakes were balanced well, light, and full of flavor! And the Avocado toast was so fresh as satisfying. In the end, we have a lot of great breakfast options in the valley, but do not sleep on this one! So good. I love this place because its close to my house and they have very good breakfast and bruch options! They are located on a corner spot in a shopping center close to the 101 freeway onramp. It is not a huge place but they comfortably squeeze in maybe 15 tables inside the restaurant but they also have a nice covered outdoor patio as well that has another 8-10 tables. That being said, this place gets busy. Its a favorite breakfast haunt for many people that live and work in this area (just north of PV near the 101 freeway). There are a few reasons why I love this place...The food is fantastic especially if you love breakfast/brunch as much as I do! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. And...the the service is always good. Not everyplace is perfect so I would warn you...this place gets really busy as it gets later in the morning. Because it's not very big you may want to sign up for their waitlist on the Yelp app. I would also mention these aint no Denny's prices, LOL! Generally speaking the prices range between average and slightly above average. For 2 people I normally end up paying more than $50 after adding soft drinks and gratuity. But it should also be noted that their meals are much higher quality than a Denny's grand-slam too. I would love to see some coupons or specials every now and then to ease the pain of paying prices like this for everyday staples like bacon, eggs and pancakes. In their defense, I feel like this about all restaurants these days so there is that... In summary this is a great little breakfast spot that is a perennial favorite among locals. I was excited to try Sunshine Breakfast after the incredible reviews and a great menu. Unfortunately the food was pretty disappointing. We ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and Greek avocado toast - they had a lot of great reviews so we thought we couldn't go wrong. The pancakes were dry and lacked flavor. The lemon curd was ok but really sweet, almost like a cake frosting and the large shavings of lemon zest are not edible. We kept trying to pick them out because you cannot chew lemon rind when the pieces are that size but often ended up having to spit them out - not the greatest experience. The whipped cream dollop was delicious, that was the only positive. The Greek avocado toast was meh. Picture an overdressed Greek salad loaded on top of watery guacamole served on bread. It was too slimy and tasted like a Greek salad. Last. When I opened my napkin wrapped silverware the knife was used and filthy with food still stuck to it. The booth seat had spilled oatmeal all over it and I needed to ask for a rag to wipe it down before we could sit down. The service was great. The ambiance was perfect for a breakfast spot and they have a great menu. Some big misses on execution. I won't be back. read more

I know this is not a huge deal but I am so sick of getting nickel and dimmed to death. I eat out a lot. If I am getting a breakfast meal that has eggs then I will ask for cracked eggs because the tub of cracked eggs grosses me out. I ordered a meal today that had eggs INCLUDED with my meal. All I did was ask for them to be from the egg ( which should be standard anyways). I got the receipt and was shocked to find they charged me $1 to get my eggs from a cracked egg. Seriously!!! WTF! I have never been charged anywhere for this request ( which should not even need to be a request for the record). If I had chosen to have my eggs done over easy, fried or any other way rather than scrambled I would have automatically gotten a cracked egg for no extra charge! It's been a while and my last few visits have been a marked departure from my original review. Everything here feels decadent when your regular breakfast is a protein drink or just a second cup of coffee. The lemony ricotta pancakes were fantastic, and the chicken and waffles were perfect. On our last visit, my grandson had some waffles with bananas and nuts that would satisfy me as a dessert. Service was quick, efficient, and with a smile. It's Christmas time, and I need to mention how great this place is decorated. We need to go back more often. read more

Nice little plate to share. The cinnamon roll French toast was amazing! Syrup is not necessary but available. Perfect serving size. I was stuffed! My husband's blueberry granola pancakes were very good and he said interesting. Chewy, stupst edges, soft inside. The granola and blueberries were inside the pancakes and some on the top too. We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant to take our pup to, we called SBB to confirm if they're dog friendly and we were so excited when they said they are. The service was amazing, they offered our pup a bowl of water and gave him some pets. Great ambiance! The food was so good! I ordered the breakfast burrito and the Mimosa fight, my husband ordered thebiscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes. My kiddo got the banana pecan pancakes, he loved them. It's not an inexpensive little café, but it's a great atmosphere and wonderful breakfast location. The hello sunshine drink is my favorite. The food is always really well done.
