Our waitress, I think her name was raye, brought us a huge cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. Oh my it was delicious. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine. It was some of the best she ever had. I ordered the southwest omelette which was on the money. Both came with their home style which tasted fantastic. Our server was on point with all her tables. It's not an inexpensive little café, but it's a great atmosphere and wonderful breakfast location. The hello sunshine drink is my favorite. The food is always really well done. The food here was excellent. My grandma was happy with her food! My only concern was with the service. Our server appeared to make assumptions about our table and applied an automatic large-party gratuity to a party of five. As someone who comes from the service industry, this was disappointing. I typically tip in cash and am especially generous around the holidays, but in this case I chose not to add anything extra. It felt unfair to be profiled, particularly as a Spanish-speaking table, when we are bilingual, respectful guests who never cause issues for servers. I hope management addresses this with their staff, as guests should never be profiled based on the language they speak or their ethnicity. The sixth person did not fail to show. The host was notified 10 minutes after we were placed on the waitlist that our party size had changed to five due to the one-hour wait not aligning with their schedule. read more

4/26/25: Short version - you definitely want to get on the waiting list. The ambiance was definitely bar-ish, in that the noise level was pretty high & they serve booze; there were little kids throughout so it is also a family joint, we had a wonderful server, Kelly. The food was decent, but not worth the drive from Laveen -- and yes, we do drive large distances for food. Long version - This place is busy. We got on the list before leaving home & the wait was 48 - 63 minutes. Due to Saturday afternoon traffic, it took us about 45 minutes to get there, about five minutes to drive around to find a parking spot I deemed less likely to get a dent in my car, yet we still had to wait about five minutes to get seated. Our server came over quickly & was very friendly. We ordered the cinnamon roll off the bat, along with a couple of Cokes. The drinks were brought out quickly but based on the timing of my pictures, it took about 20 min for the roll to come out -- and it came out with the rest of the food ordered, not before. The breakfast croissant was pretty good, although the croissant was a bit smashed, and I'm glad I ordered it with avocado, though that tacked on another $2. The Cokes were almost $4 apiece! I'm so happy I brought my collapsible cup to take home the refill. I wasn't overly impressed with the homestyle potatoes (they seemed a bit oily & could have used a bit more seasoning). My sister's All American Breakfast was pretty typical, she, too, paid an extra $2 for avo. The cinnamon roll came out hot (everything did, actually) and it was light & fluffy, but could have used a less sweet drizzle. I have a sweet tooth so I can't believe I just said that. :-) They have a fair-sized patio on the north side, and its door was wide open so the restaurant got some good fresh air. We were lucky to be seated by the door. The entire staff seemed happy were bustling everywhere. I imagine if we lived in the area, I may have given it a higher rating, but the experience was not explosive enough to warrant another 50 minute drive. read more

Had an excellent brunch with my family at Sunshine Breakfast bar on Labor Day weekend. The Yelp waitlist is a savior. We were able to sit with our dog on their patio. Service was prompt and kind. The most important factor was the food, which was delicious! Everyone's favorite was the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which we shared. Sunshine is known for their sweet cream pancakes which allows for a soft interior with crispy exterior. The lemon flavor was just enough and the pancakes weren't too sweet. I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham and chorizo (the additional protein option was +99 cents). The burrito had a great balance of flavor with meat, 2 eggs, cheeses, peppers, and potatoes in a crispy tortilla. I had it with their green salsa which is the spicy one- so good I had to ask for more! Overall, we were happy with our experience and will need to come back to try everything else. read more

My husband and I came here for breakfast one morning, and sat on the Patio with our puppy. They were so sweet and immediately brought her a dog water bowl and treat. The food and service were top notch. I ordered the country Benedict and a Bloody Mary and I was not disappointed. I even had leftovers to take home because the portion was so big. I got the avocado toast, thick cut bacon, and added scrambled eggs with the Avo toast. The Avo toast was terrible, it is my opinion they should remove it from the menu entirely. The bread was soft and kinda soggy, the avocados had nearly no flavor, I probably used half the salt shaker just to taste something. They put salad on top of the avocados, it was essentially a chopped up spring mix on top with balsamic drizzled on top. It was the worst avo toast I've ever paid money for. Management should train their staff to understand their capacity and appropriate wait times. My wife and I arrived at 10:20am and were told the wait for a party of 4 would be 30-40 minutes. After waiting 50 minutes we were told the wait would be an additional 20-35 minutes. 20 minutes later we asked our position and were told there were 10 groups of 4 before us and the wait would be an additional 20-35 minutes. We left after that. It's great that they're busy and the food looked delicious, but the staff ruined any chance of enjoying brunch at that restaurant. Had we been told that the wait would've been over an hour from the beginning we would've been able to make appropriate plans. read more

I took my mother for breakfast at Sunshine breakfast bar last Thursday. The food was fabulous!! The place is spacious and nicely decorated , open and airy I especially love the light features on the ceiling. Our server Cindy was so accommodating and kind and explaining that all the items there were fresh and made from scratch. Did not disappoint. Julie( manager) came over to check on our table . I had mistakenly ordered the wrong entree for my mother . She had her heart set on pancakes. We've been here three times now, and it never disappoints. Every dish we've tried has been phenomenal- the flavors, presentation, and quality are consistently excellent. The service has also been reliably good each time, which we really appreciate. That said, it does feel a bit overpriced for breakfast, in my opinion. The food was great. I recommend using the app to book reservation so you can park which is packed, and arrive and just be next in line. Once seated the service is great. I have been there twice so far. The first time we got on the list after parking and had to wait 30 minutes in the car. The second time we joined the list while we were still at home. Don't try to come here with groups of more than 4-5, as it is a small restaurant. The food is very good and worth the wait, but do yourself a favor and get on the wait list before you get your crew over there. So I have to give this place 4stars because they take such good care of my parents every time we go. I have never really been that impressed with the breakfast. The chiller Achilles are completely lackluster. No real flavor or anything there. Don't order it. I would get the Greek omelette sometimes, but the omelettes come out a little brown... Not too big of a fan. I will say that there are chicken sandwich on the menu is awesome! My mom is absolutely crazy about their Greek avocado toast . It is a super cute neighborhood spot. Stopped here for breakfast right after our flight had arrived in PHX on a Friday morning. We felt very welcomed coming in and got seated and seen right away. I went with the Avocado Toast and my husband and I shared a short stack of their famous Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed by both of these dishes. The Avocado Toast had more greens than avocado and the drizzle on the pancakes was too sweet for me. However, the pancake itself without the dressing was perfect! Maybe I shoukdve gone with a different main dish than the avocado toast but you live and you learn! It wasn't terrible, but it's definitely not the star of the menu. Would still come back though!
