It's been a while and my last few visits have been a marked departure from my original review. Everything here feels decadent when your regular breakfast is a protein drink or just a second cup of coffee. The lemony ricotta pancakes were fantastic, and the chicken and waffles were perfect. On our last visit, my grandson had some waffles with bananas and nuts that would satisfy me as a dessert. Service was quick, efficient, and with a smile. It's Christmas time, and I need to mention how great this place is decorated. We need to go back more often. read more

Saturday morning. Sat about 8:15 and so glad we did. The place was packed by 9am. My husband found this place to take me for a morning date. I think his draw was the mimosa flight. The service was so nice. She was very sweet, and attentive. She had great recommendations from the menu and gave us appropriate enough time to decide. It was cinnamon roll French toast, blueberry's granola pancakes and a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything was fantastic. The b&g cut the sweetness and was wonderfully savory. Nice little plate to share. The cinnamon roll French toast was amazing! Syrup is not necessary but available. Perfect serving size. I was stuffed! My husband's blueberry granola pancakes were very good and he said interesting. Chewy, stupst edges, soft inside. The granola and blueberries were inside the pancakes and some on the top too. We were in and out in under an hour and did not feel rushed. So glad we beat the crowd. Easy parking. Patio seating is available too. Highly recommended. read more

I am so glad we found sunshine breakfast bar! We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant to take our pup to, we called SBB to confirm if they're dog friendly and we were so excited when they said they are. The service was amazing, they offered our pup a bowl of water and gave him some pets. Great ambiance! The food was so good! I ordered the breakfast burrito and the Mimosa fight, my husband ordered thebiscuits and gravy with a side of potatoes. My kiddo got the banana pecan pancakes, he loved them. We will definitely be back! If you want a delicious breakfast/lunch with great service and good vibes, you have to check them out! read more

Sunshine Breakfast Bar is simply one of the best places around! The fact that as soon as you walk through the door the environment is warm, and it just screams for you to enjoy the food makes it all better. The waiters are extremely polite and highly attentive. For me sunshine breakfast bar is at its best when it comes to food. Their signature omelette was incredible because it was well cooked and packed with fresh ingredients, and the signature pancakes are soft as well as flavorsome. They are quite plenty, and very reasonably priced for good portions so you get great value for your money. There is no doubt that they care about every single dish served for their customers. Make sure to try their strawberry shortcake pancakes, they are delicious and one of a kind! Make sure to get on the waitlist through Yelp because they do tend to get really busy. Overall, Sunshine Breakfast Bar is the place to go to no matter if you are a local or just visiting the area and have a craving for a delicious breakfast. read more

The wife & I went here for an anniversary breakfast. I definitely would recommend this place. We sat outside. We got the mimosa flight. Which was good. Our waitress, I think her name was raye, brought us a huge cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. Oh my it was delicious. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict Florentine. It was some of the best she ever had. I ordered the southwest omelette which was on the money. Both came with their home style which tasted fantastic. Our server was on point with all her tables. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone that wants great service and food. read more

I love this place! They have all the breakfast staples along with creative items to meet all the needs. I usually get the all American breakfast sometimes the protein power breakfast and a side of pancakes. The coffee drinks are great too. My only default is they don't have fresh squeezed orange juice. Came to meet a friend for breakfast, got a table and friend ended up being super late. I had started with water, 45 minutes later I was still waiting for my friend to arrive and service staffed never once came to check on me. Didn't bother to see if I was still waiting, ask if I wanted anything else in the meantime, nothing. I had to wave her down to get her to even come over to the table. The blueberry and bacon pancakes were good but I think I'd have liked a blueberry compote instead of a few loose blueberries. Husband had chicken and waffles, it too was good. 4/26/25: Short version - you definitely want to get on the waiting list. The ambiance was definitely bar-ish, in that the noise level was pretty high & they serve booze; there were little kids throughout so it is also a family joint, we had a wonderful server, Kelly. The food was decent, but not worth the drive from Laveen -- and yes, we do drive large distances for food. Long version - This place is busy. We got on the list before leaving home & the wait was 48 - 63 minutes. Due to Saturday afternoon traffic, it took us about 45 minutes to get there, about five minutes to drive around to find a parking spot I deemed less likely to get a dent in my car, yet we still had to wait about five minutes to get seated. Our server came over quickly & was very friendly. We ordered the cinnamon roll off the bat, along with a couple of Cokes. The drinks were brought out quickly but based on the timing of my pictures, it took about 20 min for the roll to come out -- and it came out with the rest of the food ordered, not before. The breakfast croissant was pretty good, although the croissant was a bit smashed, and I'm glad I ordered it with avocado, though that tacked on another $2. The Cokes were almost $4 apiece! I'm so happy I brought my collapsible cup to take home the refill. I wasn't overly impressed with the homestyle potatoes (they seemed a bit oily & could have used a bit more seasoning). My sister's All American Breakfast was pretty typical, she, too, paid an extra $2 for avo. The cinnamon roll came out hot (everything did, actually) and it was light & fluffy, but could have used a less sweet drizzle. I have a sweet tooth so I can't believe I just said that. :-) They have a fair-sized patio on the north side, and its door was wide open so the restaurant got some good fresh air. We were lucky to be seated by the door. The entire staff seemed happy were bustling everywhere. I imagine if we lived in the area, I may have given it a higher rating, but the experience was not explosive enough to warrant another 50 minute drive. read more

Had an excellent brunch with my family at Sunshine Breakfast bar on Labor Day weekend. The Yelp waitlist is a savior. We were able to sit with our dog on their patio. Service was prompt and kind. The most important factor was the food, which was delicious! Everyone's favorite was the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes which we shared. Sunshine is known for their sweet cream pancakes which allows for a soft interior with crispy exterior. The lemon flavor was just enough and the pancakes weren't too sweet. I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham and chorizo (the additional protein option was +99 cents). The burrito had a great balance of flavor with meat, 2 eggs, cheeses, peppers, and potatoes in a crispy tortilla. I had it with their green salsa which is the spicy one- so good I had to ask for more! Overall, we were happy with our experience and will need to come back to try everything else. read more

My husband and I came here for breakfast one morning, and sat on the Patio with our puppy. They were so sweet and immediately brought her a dog water bowl and treat. The food and service were top notch. I ordered the country Benedict and a Bloody Mary and I was not disappointed. I even had leftovers to take home because the portion was so big. The food here was excellent. My grandma was happy with her food! My only concern was with the service. Our server appeared to make assumptions about our table and applied an automatic large-party gratuity to a party of five. As someone who comes from the service industry, this was disappointing. I typically tip in cash and am especially generous around the holidays, but in this case I chose not to add anything extra. It felt unfair to be profiled, particularly as a Spanish-speaking table, when we are bilingual, respectful guests who never cause issues for servers. I hope management addresses this with their staff, as guests should never be profiled based on the language they speak or their ethnicity. The sixth person did not fail to show. The host was notified 10 minutes after we were placed on the waitlist that our party size had changed to five due to the one-hour wait not aligning with their schedule. read more

We've been here three times now, and it never disappoints. Every dish we've tried has been phenomenal- the flavors, presentation, and quality are consistently excellent. The service has also been reliably good each time, which we really appreciate. That said, it does feel a bit overpriced for breakfast, in my opinion. It's not an inexpensive little café, but it's a great atmosphere and wonderful breakfast location. The hello sunshine drink is my favorite. The food is always really well done. The bacon is thick and the potatoes are usually a little crispy. :) Whatever you fancy for breakfast, I'm sure they will not disappoint. We try to hit Sunshine at least once a month. read more

Tucked away in a commercial business plaza. The place is pretty small and the wait is long. They accept online waitlist, I suggest you add your party before leaving. Our server was awesome ( shout out to Michelle). I got the chorizo omelette and it came with thinly sliced potatoes. It was very savory and good. We also shared the waffle, it was delicious. Soft and a perfect crisp. The coffee was not good, very bitter. This is a bit out of ways from where I live so I don't think I would come back, but I would if I lived closer, I would. I got the avocado toast, thick cut bacon, and added scrambled eggs with the Avo toast. The Avo toast was terrible, it is my opinion they should remove it from the menu entirely. The bread was soft and kinda soggy, the avocados had nearly no flavor, I probably used half the salt shaker just to taste something. They put salad on top of the avocados, it was essentially a chopped up spring mix on top with balsamic drizzled on top. It was the worst avo toast I've ever paid money for. I can't say if their other items are good, I won't be going back to find out. read more

Sometimes it absolutely amazes me what people will complain about. You have no idea what you are talking about, not a clue. Every single server that works there is outstanding, and nobody attends that restaurant more than I do, so yes, I have the right to say what is not an opinion, but a fact, period. Jodie, Nathan, Key, Tonya, Ava, Bree, Raya, Julie, Lexie, Arlo, and several more work their tails off to please every single person that walks in to eat. These are not servers, they are family, so do me a favor ? Don't say anything to criticize this group of extraordinary people. If you were really in the service industry, you should understand how hard waiting tables on people who complain over nothing is, or others that try to play the race card when it is not applicable. We had a fantastic brunch at Sunnyside Breakfast Bar! From the moment we sat down, D took great care of us and made us feel genuinely welcome. The service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I ordered the Sunnyside Burger, and it may honestly be one of the best burgers I've ever had. It was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and exceeded all expectations. Suzanne had the veggie omelet along with a caramel mocha, and she couldn't stop talking about how delicious they were. We just spent a week in Phoenix. First day in Phoenix we were looking for breakfast. Thank goodness we found Yolk Cafe. We ate there every morning for seven days. There were 5 of us and we tried something different everyday. Eggs Benedict, Apple Crumb pancakes, Blueberry and Bacon Pancakes, Avocado Toast, Omelettes and the POTATOES!!! Portions were more than you can eat. The STAFF are wonderful, so happy and great with the customers. On our last day our waiter gave a two huge cinnamon rolls as a thank you. I had the breakfast yogurt parfait, while my wife ordered avocado toast with bacon and two eggs. Both dishes were tasty; the bacon was thick and not overly crispy. A fairly contemporary breakfast spot is Sunshine Breakfast Bar. The meal arrives quite quickly. Additionally, the servers are lovely. Only a few things bother me. The food is really pricey. When I requested a medium egg, it was incredibly runny, and when I want well-done eggs, I receive a medium. Apart from that, it has a wonderful feel, therefore I would certainly recommend coming here. read more

They were topped with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes, all unseasoned and dismally soft. It was sprinkled with cheese, and a pile of chorizo just dumped in one spot on the plate. Certainly seemed cooked separately as nothing meshed on the plate. Oh, and a few sad pieces of underripe avocado. This American cuisine was devoid of character and taste. We took a few bites of each item, looked at each other in disappointment, and gladly left the remainder on the table. Avoid if you have taste buds accustomed to good food.
