I was expecting something more substantial in terms of breading and crispiness, but they ended up feeling fairly average. The sauce also did not really complement the dish, so it was not particularly memorable. For my main, I had the breakfast burrito, which was huge--definitely shareable for two people. It had good flavor and was stuffed with chorizo, scrambled eggs, bacon, avocado, potatoes, black beans, tomatoes, onions, ranchero sauce, and pico de gallo. We decided to go here for a mid week breakfast and was so disappointed with the food. Don't get me wrong, the ambience and vibe of the place was so fun but sadly the food we ordered was not. Also, the service and waitress was so kind and helpful so that also was a plus! My friend ordered the breakfast bowl and hardly Touched it. I went for the gluten free pancake and the texture and flavor was so bad. It was flat, mushy and not fluffy at all. My son got the kids pancakes and he also did not finish them, and he's a huge fan of pancakes. Coffee was okay, but no flavored creamer. The menu has plenty of options, and we kicked things off with the churro pancake bites, a fun, sweet way to start the meal. I absolutely love this place! The service is always great, and the ambiance is always fun and friendly. I love the tree in the middle of the restaurant, and the tvs are always playing a good game or if your into it, the news. But why I come here is for the Salmon Bowl! Walked in around noon for breakfast--our second visit--and it did not disappoint. We were seated right away by a friendly host, which set the tone for a great experience. The vibe is super chill, with a bar area playing sports on TV, and a really nice patio option (though we chose to sit inside under the cool decorative air ducts). The menu is huge, so there's something for everyone, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. Everything was amazing. The portions were huge. Highly recommend the waffle fries breakfast nachos, the almond croissant French toast, and the Philly steak breakfast bowl. The inside seating was comfortable. There is outdoor seating with misters on but it was 112 degrees out when we went so, opted for the a/c. Service was 100%. A lot of hits but some misses. First the misses 1. I went with create your own omelette and selected mushrooms, sauteed spinach, and avocado. The avocado was a guacamole, which is fine. But came out with brown on it. This means it was made earlier and then left open rather than covered. The air causes it to be brown. 2. The person dropping off the food, I asked if I could get some ranchero sauce. She said yes, never saw her again. To be fair she wasn't our server who did ask if we needed anything but since I had asked other person I was concerned two items show up. 3. The sweet potato cakes have cheese in them. There is zero mention regarding that. 4. For the Farmers market scramble or omelette the veggies are precut n the morning and into a bag. Thus if you are allergic to any one of the veggies that can't remove them. I went build your own omelette to solve that, but it's hard to find due to the amount of food options, a plus, but yellow light color on build your own should be in a more visible color. The spouse had the farmer's market bowl with quinoa and goat cheese. She liked it but said it lacked some seasoning and the sauce they put on it, isn't enough. My egg white omelette which they charge an extra $1 for the egg white, nice mark up, had the greenish brown avocado guacamole. I should add the menu says avocado not guacamole, but whatever. I had mushrooms, spinach and said avocado surprise. Asked for pico de gallo. Delivered I wish they offered a tofu scramble or vegan chorizo or impossible vegan sausage patty as options for folks who do not eat meat. The BKA potatoes were great. Light. The spouse got the pumpkin latte and had almond milk instead of regular milk. She got changed $2 for the switch. This shouldn't be a fee. It's bad business practice, especially in current economic conditions where you can buy almond milk for $5 at the grocery store. Fairly confident they can get a better deal. I love this place - Talk about a keto person's paradise! They have so many menu options for all diets (or lack thereof) and such good service. No wonder there is always a line out the door! Thankfully you can get on the waitlist through Yelp so the max wait time upon arrival is about 10-15 min. Parking is plentiful in the shared lot and the food is fresh and delicious! We opted for the raspberry croissant french toast from the specialty menu as we were told it was popular. One bite and you can see why. Delicious. The croissant was delicious filled with raspberry filling, drizzled with Nutella, sprinkled with powdered sugar sweet cream and fresh berries. Deliciously sweet. We also ordered the huevos rancheros eggs over medium, added chorizo. It was served in a bowl on top of a flour tortilla. It had black bean, pico, avocado and cotijo cheese. It had just the right spice. The restaurant was nicely decorated. The only thing that want great was when the guest sat at the table next to us the back of the chair was just a few inches from our table blocking is in. I've been here multiple times and I just don't love their menu. The menu is LARGE too- probably at least 50+ dishes! I believe it's overly priced and the dishes are fairly similar to each other they all seem to come with some type of hash brown. Of course you can modify but I wouldn't want to make my own dish lol inside is pretty normal and I've sat out on their patio a few times. Finding a good brunch place can be pretty hard, but thanx to bookmarking via Yelp, I was able to to quickly recall BKR being on my list here at Desert Ridge. We wanted a change up and they had plenty of outdoor seating that made the seating quick. Be mindful, when it's cool weather, not so "cool" as it's all in the shade and if any rain, the seats tend to hold water. We decided to battle the cooler weather, and no regrets. We started with the avocado fries as this is the big hit and they didn't disappoint. Had the breakfast burrito bowl along with the Croissant French toast (basically a croissant that has been flatten & seasoned with cinnamon and fresh fruit... so good). It was a good experience. The only downside was it took longer than expected for the items to show up & get drinks/refills... that made it colder than expected while all in the shade. The dark long haired girl at front check in was not friendly, she never greeted or smiled when we checked in, I politely asked her for a menu, she didn't acknowledge me but she looked down at the pile of menus next to her and never handed me one, I then reached over the desk and took it myself. 10 minute wait time turned into 25 minutes when early on they could have pushed a few empty tables together for a party of 6, we stood and watched these empty tables until someone figured that out. The reception girl has no idea what customer service is and should not be the first person a customer is faced with coming in your door.
