First time at Forks and Boards but certainly not our last. My daughter, her two kids and I arrived around 3 PM on a Thursday. The restaurant is attached to The Gamer's Guild game store, so we had fun shopping there first. The store has a huge selection of every game imaginable plus dozens of tables, free to play. They have an optional membership fee, which gets you discounts at various levels. We then traipsed over to the restaurant area for lunch/dinner. My daughter has celiac disease and the establishment was very sensitive to food allergies. They also supported neuro-diversity, which was great for my grandson. They also had several TV's going, kids menu games and a game library for free. My daughter got a Twisted Turkey Club, my granddaughter got kids Chicken Fingers and I got a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. All the orders came with fries. My grandson didn't eat. My daughter raved about her gluten free meal and my granddaughter just put her head down and plowed through her lunch. My sandwich was pretty good. I got the step-child of chicken pieces: it was pretty small. It still tasted fine and the regular fries were killer. The side sauces were legit as well. I recommend the bleu cheese and Gil's Buffalo sauce. We will visit again soon. read more

The cracker they give in the beginning was pretty good not the combination I expected, but it worked well. The cucumber salad definitely could've definitely used way more sauce. There was just like barely anything on it and we were just tasting basically raw carrots and cucumbers that weren't the freshest, the broth soup wasn't very lemongrass. You could barely taste it. It was more of a miso soup if anything and the type of tofu they decided to use I probably wouldn't have done not fresh but the dried out kind that you rehydrate , They just taste very good. The yakisoba was pretty OK though I think that was probably the star of all of the food. Didn't have much seasoning, and not much in it just the noodles three huge pork pieces and small tiny pieces of cabbage but they gave you a lot of pork in it and then the dessert at the end was really freaking good actually I have to say it was probably the best thing there two of the items, though we had to wait seven minutes after most people had already been served it so they didn't really accurately time it with everybody else as the last item which was the dessert we got literally two minutes before the movie ended compared to other people who had it 15 minutes before, so you know that could definitely be fixed. The timing , but I don't think what we got was worth the price for sure as a lot of of the things that they gave us for items that can be made cheaply coming from somebody who used to be a chef but I think the price would be worth it if you just pay attention to what they're serving as we saw a sneak peek of the menu for the Lord of the rings movie they are playing next, and I thought that menu was more worth the price than this one. Went here for a Friday evening dinner. The interior looks very classy in the pictures, but not exactly how it is in real life. However, this restaurant is huge with plenty of seating. Maybe the biggest restaurant I would have ever been to in the Phoenix area. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: The food is great overall. It's not the best ever but there is no complaint that I can do about the things we bought. Fried mushroom squeezes water but that is true with any place. Service: The server was nice to us and overall the order came very quickly too. The server came to check in as well. Pleasant experience overall. Ambiance: Not the ambiance that will impress you but it is not disappointing as well. Decent class. Hygiene: Everything was clean and tidy in our dining experience and stay there for 2 hours. Price: Everything was priced fine. I would not go here every day but won't have a complaint to not return if someone asked to join. Yelp check has an offer of free gelato but they got the smallest scoop possible in a disposable cup and that wasn't the best honoring of the offer that the merchant made. Forks and Boards is a restaurant and bar at 19th ave and Bell and is attached to one of the largest gaming stores, Gamer's Guild. Grab a table and then grab a game to play from the free game library next door. The brunch menu includes pancakes, french toasts, benedicts, a waffle sandwich, and chilaquiles. The main menu for lunch and dinner offers fries with topping options (we enjoyed the bacon and cheese), onion rings, pizzas (in different sizes from personal to shareable), salads, sandwiches, burgers, chicken and even salmon. They even have a couple of fun desserts, like worms in dirt, including many gelato flavors. They've also got a full bar serving cocktails and mocktails. This is a very inclusive space with menus in multiple languages, Braille, and even audio transcript. Their menu features gluten-free and Halal options. Check out their special events like trivia nights, food classes, and dinner and a movie specials. My daughter and I walked in late at night after finding this restaurant on the Marriott Eat Around Town App. We were blown away with the cool setup of the store and restaurant and also how friendly everyone was. Our server, Autumn, sat across from us at our table and made my 7 year old feel so special and excited. We were sat immediately and waited 10 minutes to be greeted at the table then waited an unnecessary amount of time to even get water and then after another 10 minutes we finally had a server who apologized and said there was confusion about who was in charge of that table. This was supposed to be a celebration for my sons graduation. The food was not very good. Dry, unflavored, and the pizza was weird. We won't go again. This was our second time having issues here. My girlfriend has celiac. A lot on the menu said gluten free. Which is safe for us to eat but this is our second time our server/cook gave us gluten in her food. The first time a couple month back we asked for a french dip with out the onions since they were caramelized with gluten. We then get served those onions we do not want and it looked like they just scrapped the onions off the sandwich and reserved it to her. We had to make sure they didn't do that and get a whole replacement because of this issues. Today 3/1/2026 at 12:30. we ordered gluten free chicken tenders. 3 servers came out and said "I have a GLUTEN FREE CHICKEN TENDERS" so of course we payed no attention to it as they assured us it was the gluten free chicken tenders. So we ate with no idea that we were being gluten. At 1:05... a different server came out and told us "this is the gluten free chicken tenders. we have made an accident.. how much have you had on the other plate." My table is now looking all at each other in panic and we then packed up whatever we had and rushed to pharmacy and tried to find anything over the counter to help ease the pain and suffering. Now it's 3:30 and she is vomiting and having diarrhea. Already feeling weak and sluggish. Overall, If you have celiac disease. Make sure to triple even quadruple check with every server and manager before even eating your food at this establishment. We actually really loved the environment and how friendly the staff was. Unfortunately we will not be coming back or eating from this place ever again. Imagine my surprise when I ordered their best item, (Fried Pickles), and I was told I could not have them because they changed to a brunch menu. Over the weekend, I went there and ordered the Cuban burger. About two hours later, my stomach began twisting, and I knew something was wrong. I made it home and immediately got sick. It turned out to be food poisoning, and I've been bedridden every day since. This has been going on for a full week, and it's completely disrupted my life. I lost my job because I didn't have any available days to take off. Additionally, I couldn't run my business or make any money during this time. This was especially devastating because it happened over Black Friday, a crucial time for my business. I missed out on all the Black Friday events and tasks I had planned to accomplish. I reached out to the restaurant to address the issue. One of the employees told me that all of the managers were sick and unavailable. She mentioned that I would have to wait for one of them to contact me. So far, I am still waiting to hear back from a manager to discuss compensation for this incident. Came for lunch on a Monday afternoon. A fair amount of other patrons, but there will be no shortage of available seating. This place is "the third largest restaurant and the second largest game store in Arizona." Apparently if you are playing a board game on the game store side, you can scan the QR code and have food delivered to your gaming table. Genius! We wanted a restaurant vibe so we stayed on the right side of the building. We were greeted immediately and we chose to sit at the bar. Menu had a decent variety of options; we ended up going with the Mimi burger and the house salad. We blinked and the food was already in front of us. Seriously, it was insanely fast. They use brisket burgers and the Mimi version, has peanut butter and relish. Trust me, it was delicious! Sweet and savory and the patty was so juicy and tender. Would definitely order again! My celiac daughter had the chx tenders & fries. Hasn't had fries in 3 years.... Said they were great! Real fresh chicken not frozen, super tender & large pieces seasoned perfectly. Beer was cold & delish. I got the buffalo grill chx sandwich gluten free (I'm not celiac) the bun was seriously really good! Toasted & delish. Probably one of the best chx sandwiches I ever had. I love Gamer's Guild. I am a regular customer there and member. However, Forks and Boards needs some serious quality control implemented. I never order food there if there is a big event happening: movie night, learn to play, and so on. This is because, without fail, any time there is a large gathering of people ordering food from there, the quality dips tremendously. This can either range from your food being overcooked, sauces being spilled on your food in to-go bag, or your food coming out stone cold, not lukewarm, cold, on fried items too. I want better for Forks and Boards. This is all coming from a loving place, because when the food is good, it is great. However, when it is not, it stings since the prices are a bit steep for anything below exceptional quality. Recently I had a chicken tender combo where the chicken was hot and fresh, but the fries were pale and limp. I also ordered $10 worth of onion rings which did not appear to be much of a different portion from the sides one; these were also very cold. There was no big event this night either. I attended a Learn to Play last month and my breakfast chicken tenders were one deep brown shade away from being black. I ate one and tossed the rest. Also every time I have ordered loaded fries and requested no sour cream, it always comes with sour cream anyways and I have to send it back (these two instances were a month apart). I want to be able to reccomend Forks and Boards to my friends without hesitation, but as it stands, I cannot. read more

Just found this fairly new gem close to our neighborhood, and we were nicely surprised. The decor is very friendly and comfortable, and much bigger than it looks from the outside. Very nice bar, coffee bar and Gelato stand. We chose to eat in the bar area, with Justin as our server. He was very knowledgeable about their drinks and menu. (Note: they have a nice gluten-free selection.) We highly recommend the Brisket French Dip Smash Burger on a Brioche Bun. Their Greek Salad is so good and could easily serve 2-4 people. With Justin's help, we decided on a Dragon's Milk beer and a Lemon Drop Martini, both delicious. We will definitely recommend to our neighbors and other friends, and will be back soon. I was interested in trying this place because I used to love fried shrimp & haven't been able to have it for years due to the breading. Unfortunately they are not able to have it right now (I think he said due to a fryer). I was able to have another favorite, fried pickles & they were good. All of the staff we encountered the evening we went were super nice and trying their best. They had an event going on that was stretching them thin but they did take care of us. The area of seating for the restaurant is much smaller than I expected -- just the area when you walk in the front door -- but there wasn't a wait. The food is beyond reproach and as someone who is strict low-carb and sugar-free, attempting to only ingest items that won't have a negative impact to blood sugar (Type 1 Diabetic) usually requires some kind of compromise on my part. Here - they accommodate to you. Flavor was beyond outstanding, and service? Nothing compares! We were assisted by a wonderfully kind and very generous gentlemen, Justin, who was welcoming, inviting and radiated the most positive, kind energy that you can't help but want to smile. I was seated at the bar and was served by the female bartender. This was during a TMNT event and there were a lot of new faces outside of the regulars I have seen. Everything seemed like it was fine initially, it looked like she was also helping serve tables between drink orders. I could hear her having a condescending conversation with another employee about the gamers that were coming through that was completely off putting to me. They were not being rude, just a little socially awkward and it made me feel not welcomed during my time there. Was a very weird situation. We walked up to see someone cleaning the area and stepped over a lot of water to get in. Once in, nobody said anything, some customers just looked up. We weren't sure if it was a "seat yourself" situation or order at the front, due to there being no sign and the lady at the bar didn't speak to us. We sat down in a booth for about 5 minutes and thought maybe we should go up front. So we went to the front and waited, but the bar person was serving others. We were looking at the menu and didn't see what we had wanted online, and since at that point, nobody had spoken to us, we decided to leave. Very weird vibe and felt unwanted the entire time. After skipping lunch and finding it too much effort to cook, we decided to try this new place out and were not disappointed. We were greeted by Jake, the manager. He was welcoming, extremely knowledgeable about the menu and beverages and he even got me out of my usual comfort zone to try a grapefruit-based beer. Sometimes doing something simple correctly can really make a big impression. The fried onion rings were the best I've had in years. Lightly battered and perfectly fried (in obviously clean oil) they were not greasy and just delicious. My first shot at fried pickles made me a believer and the French fries were also perfect. Service was good, prices were reasonable and the place had a nice vibe. The space is large and connected to a huge gaming store. I'm told you can order food to be delivered to your gaming location and, our waitress informed us that we could borrow games and bring them back to our booth (which was large and comfortable). We couldn't resist and ended our meal by sharing some cheesecake --absolutely worth the extra calories. Sadly, we were too full and had to pass some interesting flavored gelato. Next time! read more
