Charming Dinner and Movie! My daughters brought me to Forks and Boards for my birthday. 5 course dinner plus cocktails and mocktails. Spirited Away is my favorite Miyazaki Movie. Each drink and course was related to the movie. It was super cute. Some of the courses and drinks I liked better than others. Overall, it was a super fun event.

First timer. I ordered biscuits and gravy. Nothing to write home about. Also got a blue moon beermosa and that was alright. Ambiance with free board games is 10/10.

Was on the bar side of this place, but definitely a different crowd than most bars in the area. They had sports on the TV sets and got a $5 PBR. The small $12 vegetable pizza had good crust, but really didn't have any taste and was lacking sauce. Was never offered grated cheese either. More of a geeks paradise.

What a great find for people with Celiac! Thank you so much. There are 2 portions to the place, a restaurant and a large game store and gathering place. The restaurant itself has board games and puzzles to play while you're eating. So many gluten free options and definitely celiac disease in mind. They clarify when you order too. It's the first time I've had a fried buffalo chicken sandwich since my diagnosis 22 years ago. Wow was it good! They have a dedicated fryer. If you're in the area, it's a must!

Order 2 frontier bowls w/ asada, was missing all the tops they said would be included such as lime crema, black beans, cowboy caviar, and green chili sauce. Also the rice was hard, couldn't really bite into it without causing problems.

Experience more like a 3.5/5 ! Came here for the 5- course dinner movie experience for "Ponyo" Here's what was included in this $85 course including 2 alcoholic drinks : Ponyos Tidal Treat: shortbread cracker infused with bacon and topped with red bean paste Sea cucumber salad : crisp, briny salad of cucumber, carrot, and daikon in sesame oil and chili flakes Seabed serenity broth: miso and lemongrass with silken tofu in a citrusy broth Depths of discovery stirfry : yakisoba noodles with pork veggies, sesame, soy and garlic Tides and embrace honey cake : honey cake topped with blue pea, flour, whipped cream Cocktails : Tsunami kiss : lychee ginger with vodka, lime, and fizzy splash Moons tide rising: blend of perlata, sweet vermouth , campari and translantic bitters Let me start off with the vibes of the place very spacious and clean I thought the service was quick and efficient. I did see some not the best service though from a certain bartender I won't name, She seemed just to be having a bad mood in general so I kind of felt like we were being a bother for just being there and she didn't like working later then she usually does so okay sorry for bothering you first time here thought it was cool haha , As we had gone an hour early to hang out in the bar area. But once we sat down, the servers were much more friendly and quick and efficient as well in the movie section it's not a closed off section so you can still hear the people playing games in the room connected, but they're not super loud and you don't really notice that it is in the open area and you can hear the movie fine. The speakers do sound a little bit shot out, though I'm really loud parts of the movie, now the food/drinks for me was like 50-50, good and bad one of the cocktails was all right. The other one was really undrinkable to the point that I noticed nobody else really drink the second one. The cracker they give in the beginning was pretty good not the combination I expected, but it worked well. The cucumber salad definitely could've definitely used way more sauce. There was just like barely anything on it and we were just tasting basically raw carrots and cucumbers that weren't the freshest, the broth soup wasn't very lemongrass. You could barely taste it. It was more of a miso soup if anything and the type of tofu they decided to use I probably wouldn't have done not fresh but the dried out kind that you rehydrate , They just taste very good. The yakisoba was pretty OK though I think that was probably the star of all of the food. Didn't have much seasoning, and not much in it just the noodles three huge pork pieces and small tiny pieces of cabbage but they gave you a lot of pork in it and then the dessert at the end was really freaking good actually I have to say it was probably the best thing there two of the items, though we had to wait seven minutes after most people had already been served it so they didn't really accurately time it with everybody else as the last item which was the dessert we got literally two minutes before the movie ended compared to other people who had it 15 minutes before, so you know that could definitely be fixed. The timing , but I don't think what we got was worth the price for sure as a lot of of the things that they gave us for items that can be made cheaply coming from somebody who used to be a chef but I think the price would be worth it if you just pay attention to what they're serving as we saw a sneak peek of the menu for the Lord of the rings movie they are playing next, and I thought that menu was more worth the price than this one. I will definitely come back for another one and maybe even update this review if they do change anything that I had noted today overall Greta experience

Movie and a meal is just a fantastic experience! New themed menu AND DRINKS each time!!!

Love, love, love this place!!!! ALL the food, the drinks (full bar), coffee drinks, desserts, gelatos - All of it is amazing!!! Especially their themed meals - Outstanding! And I can be quite the foodie snob... Everyone that works here is simply delightful!!! Honestly, they are all so inclusive, caring and aware of special dietary needs! Especially for Gluten free/ Gluten allergies- It's simply fantastic to be able to order anything from their entire menu (except 2 or 3 WELL-MARKED items) with no fear of cross contamination these things matter so much! The entertainment is abundant- there's a variety of games to play at the tables and is highly impressive selection, not to mention they are ATTACHED to a full gaming guild. I simply cannot put into words how good the whole experience is. I get in there atleast twice a month, and more often for the special events ...

Went here for a Friday evening dinner. The interior looks very classy in the pictures, but not exactly how it is in real life. However, this restaurant is huge with plenty of seating. Maybe the biggest restaurant I would have ever been to in the Phoenix area. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: The food is great overall. It's not the best ever but there is no complaint that I can do about the things we bought. Fried mushroom squeezes water but that is true with any place. Service: The server was nice to us and overall the order came very quickly too. The server came to check in as well. Pleasant experience overall. Ambiance: Not the ambiance that will impress you but it is not disappointing as well. Decent class. Hygiene: Everything was clean and tidy in our dining experience and stay there for 2 hours. Price: Everything was priced fine. I would not go here every day but won't have a complaint to not return if someone asked to join. Yelp check has an offer of free gelato but they got the smallest scoop possible in a disposable cup and that wasn't the best honoring of the offer that the merchant made. I doubt it would be served the same way if you order it by paying.

Forks and Boards is a restaurant and bar at 19th ave and Bell and is attached to one of the largest gaming stores, Gamer's Guild. Grab a table and then grab a game to play from the free game library next door. The brunch menu includes pancakes, french toasts, benedicts, a waffle sandwich, and chilaquiles. The main menu for lunch and dinner offers fries with topping options (we enjoyed the bacon and cheese), onion rings, pizzas (in different sizes from personal to shareable), salads, sandwiches, burgers, chicken and even salmon. They even have a couple of fun desserts, like worms in dirt, including many gelato flavors. They've also got a full bar serving cocktails and mocktails. This is a very inclusive space with menus in multiple languages, Braille, and even audio transcript. Their menu features gluten-free and Halal options. Check out their special events like trivia nights, food classes, and dinner and a movie specials. My daughter and I walked in late at night after finding this restaurant on the Marriott Eat Around Town App. We were blown away with the cool setup of the store and restaurant and also how friendly everyone was. Our server, Autumn, sat across from us at our table and made my 7 year old feel so special and excited. Autumn talked us through the menu, high-fived my daughter for her choices, and regularly stopped by to chat. My daughter loved her and is so excited to return again with friends.

The service was so slow. We were sat immediately and waited 10 minutes to be greeted at the table then waited an unnecessary amount of time to even get water and then after another 10 minutes we finally had a server who apologized and said there was confusion about who was in charge of that table. This was supposed to be a celebration for my sons graduation. The food was not very good. Dry, unflavored, and the pizza was weird. We won't go again. It was not busy, I am assuming just a staffing problem for servers and cooks. Hope they turn it around!

The family game selection was good!

She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG.

To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
