    Smoked Prime Rib Quesadilla

Lovecraft is a great local neighborhood restaurant with incredible food. If you follow them on Social media you'll see them post random specials throughout the week that are very creative and I'm sure taste amazing. I've been here a few times and the food and drinks have been stellar every time. Service is great. They understand the menu and do a great job of explaining the dishes and the creative specials I mentioned. It's an interesting ambience that feels dark and cool on the inside. When the weather is good they have covered seating on the roof. The food though is what this place is all about. They call themselves a New Mexican Inspired Smoke Kitchen. Lots of New Mexican chilis in the dishes for the right kick of spice and smoke. This is a great place to come for drinks if you are somehow not hungry. A wide selection of local craft beers and an interesting cocktail menu that rotates seasonal choices and includes infused spirits. I'm looking forward to the return of the Hatch Green Chili Watermelon Margarita.

I'm not sure I would have driven by this restaurant and known how good their food was without my dad and stepmom being locals. They love this spot and I see why. The tables and chairs are mismatched as is the silverware. It's a moody vibe with their darker walls but friendly servers. The food is eclectic! We came on a Friday night so we were able to choose a prime rib dish. I believe they also offer it on Saturdays. Food: Prime rib quesadilla.. I see why it's so popular! It came with au jus sauce and horseradish. Great choice as an appetizer. Happy hour green chile queso and chips: a lot of the sauce is at the bottom of the dish so stir up the chips as the sauce collects at the bottom. It thankfully wasn't spicy. Mushroom taco dish: very bold and flavorful. I ordered love craft style with the guacamole and slaw. This is my family's favorite thing to order time and time again.. Green chile burger: very good! Green chile baked muffin (cornbread): I loved. For a drink I ordered the yuzu spring spritz, it was okay. All in all great food. There's so many things I wanted to try! And different types of food I think that would suit anyone.

One of my favorite hidden gems in the valley - Lovecraft! And if you've only been coming here for drinks, shame! You have been sleepin' on some of the best bites!! The atmosphere are chill and casual, and classy and vibey at the same time. The service is fantastic and prompt. But the food - out of this world! We've had the tacos, meatloaf, and lobster bucatini and all were fantastic. I feel like I dream about that meatloaf, it is so savory, but the lobster pasta with a tortilla, one of the best dishes I've had in a while. My husband and I almost licked the plate. The tortilla on the side sounds crazy but now that we've had it, again, we have been missing out. It was so good we ordered extra tortillas on the side. So impressed with Lovecraft, and you will be too! Go now!

Fractional this from the happy hour menu. Delicious.

We went for happy hour today and it was excellent. Cannot wait to go back. The food was fantastic. It's one of the best and most interesting menus I've seen in awhile. I had tacos and a margarita and both were terrific and very tasty. We ordered two nacho and queso dishes for table and everyone loved them. The grilled meat is the big draw here. Service was attentive, friendly and fast. We were never left waiting and at the end, our server sorted the checks efficiently and got everyone the right bill. The ambiance is good and comfortable. Although the restaurant was full and very busy, we had no trouble hearing because the ceiling is low and absorbs sound effectively. This place does everything right and I cannot wait to return!

My friend and I have been wanting to go to Lovecraft for a while and unfortunately we went on a rainy day after we had already had dinner. Unfortunately because the menu looks dope and they have a whole plant based menu! And we couldn't sit on the rooftop because it's not rain proof. The inside though is nice and dark and moody. I love the way they display their wine on the wall and they have mead! They also have a ton of beer on tap and you can actually see the color displayed in glasses on the wall. I don't drink beer but it looked really pretty. Service was good and the only reason to give 4 stars is the guacamole (the only food we got) was fairly bland but we added their hot sauce both red and green and it made it much better. The chips were warm and salty. Also it was pretty pricey for getting two glasses of wine, 2 glasses of mead and guac and chips!!! $80!!!! I'm definitely coming back to sit on the patio and partake in the plant based menu with lots of dishes with jackfruit and smoked mushrooms.

Super cool vibe! Very speakeasy-adjacent with moody lighting, deep rich colors, and music chill enough that I didn't have to shout my order like I was at a tractor pull. We grabbed a drink at the downstairs bar first, then headed up to the rooftop patio, which is gorgeous. Tons of shade, perfect weather, and just a great spot. Trevor was our server, funny, friendly, and totally on it without hovering. His recommendations were spot on, and he somehow convinced us we now need to come back for Fried Chicken Sunday. Service in general was great; everyone was helpful and actually present. Apply Ever After: basically a very grown-up apple cider. Even my husband, who can detect a thimble of whiskey in a gallon of water, said it wasn't harsh or whiskey-forward, which feels scientifically impossible but here we are. Prickly Pear Margarita: light, sweet, and not overly limey. Don't get the salted rim unless you're craving a full-on salt lick experience. The Other Daiquiri: fruity, sweet, and gives big "New Orleans, third hurricane, questionable decisions pending" energy. Loved it. Cup Green Chile Stew: okay. Stop everything. This is green chile brisket and pork. Never seen that before, and now I want it everywhere. Yeah, it's a little pricey, but it's basically a bowl of incredibly tender meat bathing in glorious seasoned grease. Intense, meaty, spicy perfection. Tortillas come out warm and pliable like they're auditioning for a tortilla calendar. This is a 12/10 must-order situation. I'd come back for this alone. North Carolina BBQ Sandwich: pulled pork, vinegar slaw, vinegar sauce. Flavor was solid and the sauce had the perfect tang, but the bun desperately needed a toast because it fell apart like it just wasn't emotionally prepared for this sandwich. Queso fries were exactly what you'd expect: frozen fries and queso politely coexisting. Pozole: deep red, rich, and just the right amount of greasy, the kind of comforting greasy that fixes you from the inside out. Hominy still had bite, broth was flavorful. No notes. Overall, this place hits the vibe, the service, and the food. A couple tiny misses but nothing even close to a dealbreaker. Between the cocktails, the rooftop, and that absolutely ridiculous green chile stew, this spot is officially going into our regular rotation. If you're on the fence, just go, you'll be glad you did.

We started our night at the bar because the patio wasn't yet open, so we each had a cocktail at the bar and then we moved upstairs Trevor was our server, and was very attentive The view of the mountains from the rooftop patio is beautiful, and just another reminder of why I love to call Phoenix my home PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITA arette blanco tequila, iconic cocktails prickly pear, fresh lime + orange liqueur VERY refreshing, prickly pear flavor but not in your face, the salt rim is overwhelming(!!) but through the straw it's a nice cocktail CUP GREEN CHILE STEW thick-n-hardy green chile brisket-n-pork, melted cheese w/flour tortillas Holy meaty goodness, this does not skimp on the protein, with both brisket AND pork, amazing flavor, nice, respectable heat that builds, and topped with queso, served with a flour tortilla, this could easily be a meal on its own Bonus smoked jalapeno to nibble on BBQ SANDWICH We got pork, served on a noble kona bun w/ queso fries The bun could use toasting to make it a little bit more sturdy, but the meat is very flavorful, tender, seasoned well We got a side of the North Carolina barbecue "sauce", which was more like jus, but it made for great dipping The queso fries were very nice Definitely plan on returning, would absolutely recommend

This is a great date night spot. Make a reservation online for dinner! Inside was very cool- they also have 2 all-gender restrooms. Yuzu mocktail was good, very sweet though. As a New Mexican, I am ready to come back for the green chile stew and some other favorites. Table service was kind of a miss, but not bad. Still looking forward to coming back.

Meatloaf- it's super smokey, melt in your mouth moist and addicting" !! along with their mash potatoes and that green chile gravy!!

service is good, very knowledgeable and quick. there is no that's not my table attitude. had several people ask how we were the restaurant is cute and very leave the world outside vibe the food.. wow. something different. I was very excited some it was Albuquerque based. Rich bold chili flavors, but not so spicy you can't taste the food! It did not disappoint! i don't think there's a dish that can go wrong here. check out the specials before you go!

Ordered the hatch Chile burger deconstructed. It was too dark to take a photo, but the taste was absolutely delicious! Quick, friendly service. Chill music spans upbeat new age and 80's folk like Tom Petty. Right off the main road. Small parking up front- larger lot in the back.

This place was fun! Very dark and intimate setting inside, they do offer outdoor seating too. I really appreciated the large beer list they had, but decided to try one of their cocktails, El Smokey Peach. It was nice, full of flavor. We decided to try some appetizers too. The green chile cornbread muffin was fantastic, I highly recommend it! The bacon wrapped jalapeños were also good, but smaller than I was expecting. Also kind of pricey for only 5. Probably will skip these next time. They offer Mexican food and bbq, which was interesting. I tried the street tacos entree which comes served traditionally or the LoveCraft way. I went with the LoveCraft way since it included guacamole, and chose chicken for the protein. They were good, but I also tried the brisket tacos and they were incredible. I would definitely order brisket street tacos next time. Our waitress was nice. The other servers working were also friendly. I would come back here again.

This a a cool vibe place known for Mexican inspired food & craft beers! Large selection of beers & specialty cocktails for anyone's taste or mood! The food selection is more limited if you do not do spicy or smoked bbq meats, like me. I had the chicken tacos which weren't spicy or smoke flavored. My friend did not like that there was too much fat on her French dip sandwich & that the side salad seemed packaged. The server was kind enough to swap the salad with coleslaw for her. We appreciated the servers who were friendly & hardworking. This place is known for its giant sparkling chandelier hanging above a rooftop patio. We ate indoors where it was a bit quieter & smaller chandeliers everywhere!

Overall I'll give this restaurant a sold 3.8/5. First off the staffs were nice and friendly, but my deduction was on the wait for our main dishes. Starving and ordered chips and cheese dish. I tried to just snack on the chips, but ended up eating the entire plate since the food took a minute. Nevertheless, the green hatch cheese dip was great and well seasoned. chips was thin just the way I liked them. Chicken Chimichanga 3/5, for a fried burrito, there was not a bit of crunch, just feels like a regular wrapped burrito that was likely toasted. Additionally, was expecting something else besides meat inside the chimichanga, like cheese, corn, rice, bean, etc. but it was all served separately on the plate. For the side rice, it was overcooked and a bit tough. Meatloaf 4/5. Definitely the star from what we ordered. The meatloaf was tasty with a perfect balance of salty and sweetness blended together.

We ordered two pizzas, asked for one without the onions it has listed on the menu and also ordered the caprese salad. Salad and pizzas arrived before our drinks. The salad was not the caprese but was the house salad (had a ton of onions in it, looked up the menu to confirm we got the wrong salad) pizza arrived with onions on it as well. Manager got our drink for us after food arrived and said "let me know if you want a discount and a dessert because the drinks were so late" then walked away. I told the food runner about the pizza with onions and he took it back. Eventually, our server came around and I asked if this was the caprese salad and she said no it was the house. She confirmed we ordered the caprese but then said oh yeah that's not it, and left. Kinda end of that conversation. Both pizzas (once fixed) were delicious. Salad was not for me (covered in onions) but my husband said it was good. I could tell our server was busy so I didn't say anything more she seemed stressed out. We asked for the bill, no discount or dessert like the manager had said. The caprese salad was on the bill and it's a more expensive salad than the one we received. I noticed the same manager and pulled him over explained the salad issue and then felt uncomfortable as I brought back up what he said earlier about a discount. He took the salad off and gave us 10% off, still tipped 20% off original bill Honestly just kind of a weird experience. No apologies or attempts from our server to fix the salad. Was weird the manager offered a discount and dessert then didn't do it and made me bring it up (I didn't get the dessert I was feeling so uncomfortable) Pizza was good, service was ok she was busy I guess they seemed short staffed. Manager seemed to not care. Just odd experience. Really wanted that caprese salad lol. Probably won't return

Literally. That's it. I think one of them had a little guacamole at the bottom of the taco to keep the tuna from falling out. Completely underwhelming flavor profile and a perfect portion size...if you're on Ozempic. I also ordered the individual carnitas and chicken tacos. $6 each, also during happy hour. The chicken and carnitas tasted like they had been dredged in salt over and over again. Zero flavor dimension--just salt. There was an attempt at creativity; they added some orange segments to the carnitas taco. But the predominant flavor of salt and odd white sauce ruined it. Even though it was complimentary, I have to mention the chips and salsa. I give them credit for serving the chips warm and not over salting them; they were really good. But the salsa was bad. It tasted like ketchup with diced tomatoes, onions and jalapeños mixed in. While I was eating, I overheard two different women at the bar describe the food as "not bad". Not a ringing endorsement and frankly, it's usually a polite way of saying "this isn't good." For me, this place isn't worth the money. I can think of plenty of other Mexican places that offer better quality dishes at more reasonable price points. I recommend going elsewhere.

Refreshing, balanced and delicious. I typically don't love Negronis but I loved this rendition. The nanny: mezcal espresso martini that was also well done. You can also taste raspberry and chocolate every sip Mulled wine: hot wine with spices that I argue was better than the mulled wines I've had in Europe. The bar setting itself was nice! I truly appreciate the speakeasy feel- walking through a mystery door phone booth was a good welcome to this bar. Small on the inside, but had a classy but casual feel. Since we did the murder mystery there was also a preset menu which was cool. The food was okay, but will be returning back for the drinks more than the food. The murder mystery game was a nice way to get everyone in the bar involved. Essential a real like clue or who done it game. Very interesting but also can be a bit distracting if your goal was to come out and have some drinks and peace out at your leisure. While it is a very cool idea, I feel that more customers would be able to come and go on these days and not be turned out because a reservation was not made. All in all, will return on another night to try more drinks
