That was not our experience. There were definitely things we liked. The location was great, the overall theme and decor were beautiful, the lighting created a great atmosphere, and we enjoyed the food and drinks. The service was also very good. However, the entertainment was a huge miss and completely took us out of the experience. We walked in and the band was performing "Genie in a Bottle," followed by other current/recent pop songs, Backstreet Boys songs, and "Creep." The singer was repeatedly screaming into the microphone and encouraging everyone to scream and make noise. At one point, while sitting in what is supposed to be a speakeasy, we were literally listening to him sing "creep" which is one of the most depressing songs of all time. It felt much more like being at a loud dive bar or country bar than an intimate 1920s inspired speakeasy. My biggest issue is that the entertainment did not match the experience being advertised. You can decorate a room beautifully and make it look like the 1920s, but when the soundtrack is "Genie in a Bottle," "Creep," and Backstreet Boys songs being loudly belted into a microphone, the illusion disappears pretty quickly. The noise level also made it difficult to simply sit, have a drink, talk, and enjoy the space. We specifically chose this place because we wanted that relaxed jazz/speakeasy experience, and that simply wasn't what we got. The cocktail selection was another disappointment. For a speakeasy-style bar, I expected a stronger selection of specialty bourbon and whiskey cocktails. The prices also felt excessive for the overall experience. On top of the already-high prices, we paid a $20 entertainment cover ($10 per person) specifically for the band. I wouldn't have minded paying a cover for quality live entertainment that fit the advertised atmosphere, but the artist was not particularly impressive and, more importantly, the music didn't fit the theme at all. There is a lot of potential here. The space itself is beautiful, the service was good, and they nailed many of the visual details. Unfortunately, the entertainment is such a major part of a speakeasy experience that it overshadowed everything else for us. If you're specifically looking for jazz, flapper-era music, and an authentic-feeling 1920s speakeasy atmosphere, I would not recommend this place based on our experience.

We showed up on time, dressed according to the restaurants requirements and was immediately led to the bar by one of the hostess. When I asked why we were sitting at the bar she said that the reservation was for the bar or the table. A couple that came in after us was immediately sat at a four top table in front of rhe band. There were other tables available and was told that they were for other guests. When I asked why they sat a couple at a four top after us they apologized and said that they could possibly sit us at a table later. I believe that we were not catered to is because we were black. The reservation fee is $25 per person. Keep in mind that this is not simply a reservation deposit like most places. You are actually paying $25 and in exchange you get a boarding pass, a welcome cocktail, a set of wings (this is a really nice quality pin, not the cheesy plastic wings they give the kids on Southwest), spicy nuts, and a sweet treat. When you arrive, you pick up your "boarding pass" at Wren and Wolf around the corner. This flight was going to Tokyo. There is a red-rope line that you wait in until your "flight" boards. At your reservation time, the "Captain" opens the door and a "flight attendant" takes you to your seat. Actually, they call them stewardesses because it's supposed to be 70's themed. The inside is kind of amazing. It's airline themed without being too literal. We have visited another airline themed cocktail lounge in Palm springs which literally had real airline seats. This is not that. It has a lot of beautiful shiny wood and great lighting and it's just generally a gorgeous space. There is a bar at the back. Throughout your 90-minute experience, there is a captain on the overhead letting you know what will happen next. They start by bringing you a welcome cocktail and a bowl of spicy nuts. Love the nuts, did not like the cocktail at all. I just poured mine into my husband's glass and he finished it. They come around next to take your cocktail order. My husband ordered a melon sour, and I ordered a chocolate martini. I'm sad to say I did not like this cocktail either, although I did finish this one. Hubby thought his was fine. After that round of cocktails the flight attendant and Captain come around with the cart to take Martini orders. It looked like less than half of the people ordered a martini. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and so the two cocktails we already had were plenty and we did not order martinis. Then the flight attendant comes around with a plate of black and white cookies. They were so good - - they tasted homemade. This was really just fun. While I didn't love the cocktails, I did love the cookies and the spicy nuts and the whole experience and I really recommend it.

I joined the wine club and every month they have a curated wine tasting and then members get the selected bottles to bring home. The have a little charcurterie table set up too.
