    Wish they had lox!!
    Joy J.

I made it here early enough to her into the drive-thru without anyone else. I was craving a bagel and waa glad to see they have a good variety. I had a Rosemary Sea Salt Bagel with Lox Cream Cheese. I do wish they had actual lox slices, but the lady said they don't have that, just flavored cream cheeses. I also would have liked my bagel slightly toasted but I guess you have to request it that way. The bagel was really good. I do like that they stuff the bagel with the cream cheese. They definitely aren't stingy here! I'll have to come back to try other varieties, but this place is legit and won't break the bank. Gotta love that! They do have an outdoor covered patio area and covered parking. I shall return!

Cuban with some bites out of it. Very tasty!

Finally made it here! What a cute and delicious spot. I'm not sure what this building was before but its perfect - lots of parking (with shade!), a drive through, and a nice patio with misters. Heads up, there is NO indoor seating, just enough space to order. Staff was so friendly and brought my food out to me. I got the Cuban and a salted Sonoran chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was a nice size and delicious. And piping hot! I love when my food starts really hot. The cookie was delicious too! I will definitely be back!

Sourdough starter and a variety bag of bagels from Don Guerra's.

After a good friend's recommendation, I just had to check out Don Guerra's. I'm sure glad I did! Driving up to this place might be a bit confusing. You might think, "Wait, is this Sonic??" But as soon as you step out of your car, it's not grease and fast food french fries that you smell, but warm, freshly baked sourdough bread. I swear I stood at the counter forever, trying to decide what to buy from all the delicious options: focaccia, bagels, flat breads, loaves, cookies. How is a girl to decide?! Despite my long bout of indecision, the staff remained kind, patient, and helpful. I ultimately went with a variety bag of bagels (2 of each flavor: rosemary-sea salt, everything, and plain), as well as a free container of starter to bake my own sourdough bread at home! The bagels are BIG, and a pack of 6 costs $12. I also tried some samples of the Sonoran and rye sourdough breads, which were perfection. I'm definitely looking forward to returning to Don Guerra's to taste their other oven-baked offerings, and I want to try their breakfast and lunch options, like sandwiches and pizza slices, too.

    Sinful cookies calling out!

There's nothing as heavenly as the smell of fresh out of the oven baked bread, pastries and bagels!!! We recently picked up a delicious sourdough loaf and chocolate roll and it was oh so wonderful! I have to come back for more opportunity it is to try more goodies! Parking is easy and right out front. There's even a drive through plus outside seating too. I should also mention awesome fast, friendly and helpful service! Go get you some lovely loaves for your dining needs! You will be oh so glad you did!

Quick easy drive thru. I ordered a breakfast bagel with a rosemary sea salt bagel and lox cream cheese. I looooved the smell of the rosemary when I opened my bagel and they added the right amount of sea salt, not too chunky either. It was a good amount of egg and cream cheese in it. I do think they could add more bacon, it was thin and only 1 slice. I also love the lox cream cheese, good amount of smoked salmon it. The bagel itself is very soft and you can easily tell they make it themselves but I just wish it was a bit crispier, I like a little crunch to my bagels.

The Cuban torta on a torta roll is a must. Give it a try, you won't regret it! Ordering is simple - just walk in (might feel strange since Sonic used to occupy the building, but trust me, you can go inside), and place your order at the counter, or you can go through the drive thru. Once your order is ready, they bring it out to your table and during my visit, the service was good/staff was nice. Also tried the breakfast bagel sandwich and that was pretty original. Although it was good, it'll be a pass next time. Lots of options to choose from tho, so during your next carb craving, give Don Guerra a try! Looking forward to coming back and trying out their pizza! It looks tasty. Oh, and so do their signature cold brews!

    Margarita pizza
    Holly M.

Came here for first time. I ordered a slice of margarita pizza. It was a deep dish style which wasn't what I was expecting but since I didn't specifically clarify crust style that's all on me. No worries it was big and fluffy breading. However I'm not sure I got the right one as my piece had pesto on it?? It was good but I didn't live it. Not sure I'd order pizza there again but I just like thin crust. To each their own!! I did have an everything bagel with cream cheese and it rocked it. Bread was super fluffy and soft. I would for sure order bagels there again !!! I also got a green tea and it was fresh and perfect. Overall a good visit. Now I know what I'll order for next time.

New bread and cool spot alert for Gilbert/Mesa area! I've always known this spot was near my office, but didn't realize they took over the old sonic here. Oh a whim, I wanted to get something new for lunch, so I downloaded their app and placed my lunch order for pick up. They have so many delicious options from breakfast, to lunch combos, to pizza, to just loaves of bread. My order: Chicken BLT on a rosemary salt bagel with an oatmeal apricot cookie, and a side salad. I also ordered the Berry White cold brew for additional $2 in their combo section. I went over to pick-up for lunch and decided to stay since they have outdoor seating with misters (very much needed in our 100 degree summers!) They also have curb-side pick up AND a drive-thru. My lunch was delicious - the chicken blt was soo good, especially on the bagel. It was so soft and not overly chewy. As a coffee-girlie, I can confidently say their coffee is DANG good. I am so happy this is nearby, and I worry greatly for my wallet lol

    Nina D.

Accidentally ate all my food before taking a photo of it but that's how you know it's SO good! Convenient and fast, a great patio to sit and enjoy your food, and the friendliest staff! You can taste a real difference in the bread. You don't feel this sluggish after effect when consuming a bunch of carbs, you honestly feel more fueled up. The use of untreated ancient Heritage grains is so underrated. The owner is Don and Oren really educate everyone that comes to the door about what makes them so different! Definitely recommend coming by!!!

Barrio has come up from Tucson to Gilbert . The place is warm and inviting with the smells of fresh bread. The staff is super friendly and of course the bread is amazing and made from fresh healthy ingredients

We stopped by on a Saturday for lunch and it wasn't too busy when ordering inside. Both registers were open so we were helped right away. My sister ordered the breakfast bagel sandwich (B2), I ordered the Chicken BLT with a side salad, and my friend had the pepperoni slice combo. We sat outside and watched as the drive thru was non stop busy. Waited about 20 minutes and our orders started coming out one by one. My chicken blt sandwich was really good. It was flavorful and hot. My sister didn't care for her breakfast sandwich as she said it had no flavor and it was very messy. My friends pepperoni slice came out lukewarm and tasted old. It was not good. We received a free drink coupon for waiting which we thought was nice. I will maybe come back to use that free drink coupon and to try out a basic bagel with cheese.

    Italian sandwich and wheatberry salad
    Izzy O.

Stopped in today for lunch and had the club sandwich on focaccia and my boyfriend had the Italian sandwich on focaccia. Both sandwiches were delicious and we each had the wheatberry salad and really liked that too -- definitely a unique salad, I haven't had anything like it before. I think I may have liked the Italian more than my club sandwich, but I'm a sucker for anything with pesto on it. I recently got into making sourdough bread so I was really excited to try this place out and taste their bread and I definitely wasn't disappointed. I also ended up buying some flour to bake with at home. On our way out, we ran into Don, who I recognized from Instagram. He took the time to chat with us for a bit even though I'm sure he was super busy. He was super nice and encouraged me to keep going with baking sourdough. So cool to meet someone so great at their craft! We had such a great experience. You can't beat great food and kind people. Keep up the awesome work!

    Verde and potato & onion
    Ali B.

They had me at "award winning bread". Was very excited when I learned that this place was right near my work's home base. Had to drop stuff off there today so I took it as an opportunity try Barrio! I went through the drive thru. There was no line, just a few people ordering inside. They took my order right away and just took about 5 min or so for it to be ready. I LOVE foccacia and Sicilian style pizza so I got 2 slices, potato and onion, and verde with pesto, feta, tomatoes, and olives (I removed the olives, don't like them!). My total was $15, which seemed like a lot, but the slices are large. Crust was fluffy inside, crisp outside. Toppings were fresh and flavorful. The potato one maybe had a bit too much rosemary, but otherwise super good. Totally want to come again and get coffee and a bagel!

The New Yorker was packed with tender, flavorful corned beef, and the marble rye paired perfectly with the melted provolone. I love lox bagels, so I opted for The Fireman and ordered it open faced. It was absolutely delicious. The bagel sandwich had a good amount of salmon and was very filling. Stopping in before the kids soccer practice on a Saturday to a packed house. The new owner is a thrill to watch thrive since those days and a part of me felt concerned when covid hit. I know it was brutal for her opening up a new business right before and trying to live up and perfect the craft! I even turned away for awhile in disappointment thinking our town lost a gem, Schmear. If it wasn't for the fact that for a long time this was the only place to get a bagel- I might have never returned, but this girl loves her carbs and a good schmear (NYC is heaven- of course) ! I came back to try every now and again just to get a fix. Einstein Bagels finally made their way into QC and it was definitely a reality hit of quality (hadn't ate there in years). I have yet to return to Einsteins . My favorites: the everything bagels are literally and deeply covered with robust rub, the chive cream cheese amazing, kids love the rainbow bagels, they carry macadamia milk for coffee, and you can grab a bag for $4 of the day old bagels! The bagel has a great yeast starter just about similar to the old Schmear! You can taste the variation. My only complaints: the hours (wish they opened earlier, coffee drinks are way too expensive, they upcharge on the bagel type and cream cheese, they need to expand and feature different schmears from time to time, my biggest concern is consistency. There's times I go in and my bagel was barely toasted, more like warmed bread, times where they barely put cream cheese on (frustrating when they upcharge for chive cream cheese and you got nada). The automatic tipping is starting to become ridiculous. We go in and order our food at the counter, wait for it and throw our own stuff away or even take it to go. There is no "service" and for them to request that we tip 15/20/25 percent at checkout is absurd. They aren't the only establishment doing it and I'm more than sure it's the pay system software they use- but our family is actually at a point to stop going to these places that do that overall. Or we will use an app and order ahead to bypass that awkwardness and pick it up because it's absolutely out of hand! Owners need to address this but they won't understandably as it's more money to them and their employees- for a time (like I said, we've stopped visiting a lot of places like this). If it wasn't for the macadamia milk- I wouldn't bother to buy coffee here. I don't think the coffee overall has a great taste but nonetheless when I stop in during the work week as a treat to myself I'll order just because of this option alone. You can't find many places that offer macadamia milk- yes, there's a $1 up charge for that too. The pistachio shaken espresso at switch brews is much preferred but they don't have great bagels, lol! The owner- she's adorable, sweet, and I love seeing her work side by side with her crew! That's leadership and I will always support that! Plus my daughter and I love her cute eccentric outfits! I feel like I'm in the city instead of bland suburbia. Thank you for jazzing up life around here!! The upkeep and seasonal decor is such a treat and also makes for a great visit too! Adorable decorations to fit the holiday or season and even fresh flowers- LOVE IT! It's those details that make the visit worthy. We love the new outdoor patio set and the available games are great too- I suggest a kids bookshelf! I look forward to her new ideas and seasonal changes- it's what makes QC great. Thank you for maintaining a quality bagel shop in QC.

I opted for the $8 tier, threw in a $1 tip, got it to go, and dressed it up with capers and onions at home. It was barely flavorful. This was the cheddar jalapeño bagel, and I could barely taste it. The texture was wrong too. Not dense, no real chew, and no glossy exterior. Was this a bun with hole in the middle disguised as a bagel? In addition, the cream cheese was as dull as could be and the lox did not taste fresh or even very lox-like. I only ate half the bagel and threw the rest away. I'm adding an extra star for charm and decor, but I mostly judge a place by its food and not necessarily its aesthetic. Maybe I caught them on an off-day because it seemed pretty popular as it was somewhat busy. I just feel like a Jedi mind-trick was played on me because these were not the bagels I was looking for.

The sandwich itself was just okay, but the bagel was noticeably dry and didn't taste as fresh. When you're going to a place known for bagels, you really expect that part to be spot on. Instead of being soft and chewy, it just had a stale, dry texture that took away from what could have been a solid breakfast sandwich. The egg, cheese, and sausage were fine, but the bagel is really the foundation of the whole thing. I also ordered a hazelnut coffee, that was really good and worth the wait as they had to brew it. Overall, it wasn't terrible experience, but it also wasn't great. With a fresher bagel and fresh coffee ready to go, the experience would have been much better. Hoping it was just an off day.

A bagel costs them 1 penny. They charge a minimum of $7. I chose the egg white bagel with everything and turkey sausage. No ideal but protein is needed. The bagel was not toasted. I assumed it would be. Nor did they add a condiment like butter on the side. I did remove the cheese. But agsin nowadays there are so msny vegan cheese. Oh, and violife makes an amazing vegan cream cheese. The only plus, the doordash driver was a megastsr.
