Croissant Donuts made right! Flaky layers, delicious light dough. Cream filled are perfectly balanced. So worth the drive. We had 4 donuts Boston Cream, Cheesecake, Chocolate and Brown Butter Apple Pie. We split all 4 and got to try each flavor, each was delicious i can't pick a favorite. The young lady at the front desk was super sweet and I love the location.
This is def a very sweet dessert shop. It was a little busy for Mother's Day and a little bit hard to find since it blended in with the apartments. A quiet place to study or get some lovely pastries with some friends, but gets wild when you have little ones lol I love macarons but the macarons were def too sweet for me. And I finally got to try a cronut! I liked what I got, which was the Strawberry Peach
I stopped in here the other afternoon with a friend for an afternoon sweet treat! It's located inside the leasing office of the NOVEL Val Vista apt. complex. and there were some parking spots available nearby. Lots of seating available, and SOOO many delicious looking pastries!!! My friend and spent a good 5-10 minutes trying to figure out what to order! Since the cronuts had been the inspiration for coming here, we decided to try one of those, specifically the peach berry one. IT WAS SO GOOD!!!! Definitely sweet, but not too sweet. I also ordered a strawberry rhubarb pastry to go and that was also good, but the cronut was definitely the winner!!! Their cupcakes also looked incredible too, and everything in here was very reasonably priced. They also do large orders too. Coffee and drinks were also available for purchase, as well as some merchandise. I will definitely be back here to try one of the cupcakes!
I am a HUGE fan and thus I'm SO sad that it's so far away in Gilbert. Hands down the best gluten free donuts I've ever had in my life. They do remind me of the croissant donut in that they're more dense, with the outer parts having a nice bite but the inside is fluffy and oh so perfect. My roommate and I split a churro and maple gluten free donut and we both loved the churro the most but both were so good. The donuts are massive so you can definitely save some for later (but it will be hard not to eat it all at once). I also had a crème brûlée latte with oat milk and it was heavenly. The charred top... the creamy syrups... I definitely had my sweet tooth more than satiated. The inside is so clean and quite large. There are also ample seating outside in the shade. The barista was so nice!
this spot came across my IG feed and I'm a sucker for donuts so we stopped by for a little family coffee date one morning since we were in the area! One thing to note is it is a bit hard to find at first but thankfully I looked at fellow Yelp reviewers and it helped us find it! Literally just look for the leasing office which is on the side of the building that faces ALDI! :) I know the shop's name is too sweet but we figured we would try some savory alongside the sweet to help balance things out lol. I picked out the bacon gouda sandwich in an English muffin. This was a total surprise to us how flavorful it actually was. The English muffin was soft and a little chewy, bacon was crispy, and the cheese was cheesin' I would recommend and get again when we go back because I'm already telling you, we will be back. lol For sweets we got a wild berry pie cronut and cranberry orange cronut. They were both good but I found the wild berry one to be even a little too sweet for me. The cranberry orange one I'd get again and again. It was a perfect combo of both flavors and not crazy sweet. The vibe of this shop is clean and modern with lots of seating inside and outside to hangout for a bit for work or even to socialize. The staff were also nice and attentive. Again, I'd be back to enjoy more pastries and maybe try one of their beverages next time!
If you are looking for a delicious easy breakfast on the go, definitely stop in. Too sweet offers plenty of sweet danishes/croissants and they have some savory options as well. First we tried the bacon gouda egg sandwich, which came on an English muffin. It was delicious! The egg was super soft, the bacon was crispy and the gouda cheese was melty and blended so well. Would definitely get again. We tried the turkey and jalapeño croissant. The outside had a nice cheesy crust to it, but the inside was lacking turkey. We literally couldn't find it, I did a double take and it had the smallest sliver. Even though it tasted good, it was too stingy on the inside. And last we tried the wild berry pie and cranberry orange croissant doughnut. Both were really good. Sweet on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. We definitely preferred the cranberry orange though, loved the citrus flavor to it. It's very nice inside, clean and modern looking. Staff behind the counter were friendly.
Nestled inside of the Novel Apartments, is Too Sweet Cakes, a quaint and delicious bakery. We had some difficulty trying to find it as the signage was just on their doors, but they are on the eastern end of the complex (by the leasing and nearest to Aldi.) We were greeted immediately but our eyes could not be taken from the beautiful pastry case! They have some many options of baked goods: cakes, cookies, macarons, doughnuts, and croissants. For our visit we just ordered their seasonal berry lemonade, drip coffee, orange cranberry doughnut, pumpkin bread, and churro doughnut. We sat outside the patio so our little one could run around and enjoy the view of the birds. It was very quiet during our visit and very peaceful. We enjoyed our doughnuts, a lot. So much so that our little one preferred our sugary sweets to his pumpkin bread! I am very interested in their cakes and look forward to coming back!
I was less than a mile away and always wanted to try this place. I was hesitant because it's inside a leasing office to an apartment complex. I parked at Walgreens and walked. I had no idea what to get, but I asked the young lady something cold with caramel and a large and she hooked it up. I also got a churo cronut, which tasted amazing! And a vanilla cupcake! The cronut was very sweet.. very sweet, and the vanilla cupcake was perfect. I'd try this place again for sure. The name definitely matches!
So many amazing gluten free options to try and I hear the regular options taste great too! We regularly drive out of our way to come here.
With the execption that this place is hard to find - need a better sign from the main road, its super cute inside. Look for the apartment lobby and you will find it. There is all types of seating offered inside and outside. There is a full menu of drinks and sweet treats. I tried the rubard strawberry pop tart. It was sweet, but super delish. The service was great and she was informative. Will look forward to heading back and trying more pastries.
I picked up a birthday coconut berry cake today. I was initially disappointed because cake did not have any berries on top and looked plain. Additionally, I ordered a birthday plaque which should have included the birthday person's name but it sadly only said Happy Birthday with no name. Clearly, there were several oversights on this pricey cake. However, the cake itself was delicious and guests really liked it!! It is hoped the little mistakes can be addressed and can have a seamless experience next time!!!
The place was a little hard to find, but it's behind Aldi and on the corner of the Novel apartment buildings (by building 2). The place is very cute and is in the lobby of the apartment leasing office. We went a couple hours before closing and luckily they had plenty of pastries still available. The employees were very kind and answered any questions we had. We tried the croissant donuts in the churro, chocolate, lemon, and maple flavors. My husband's favorite was the maple and mine was the chocolate. It was good, but a little messy, so be sure to grab some napkins!
Was craving a good place for cronuts and found this little gem tucked away near the Newley built apartments They had options for gf/dairy free and vegan! I got the cherry, lemon and churro Cronuts and got one vegan one for my daughter. They were all pretty good with a lot of flavor and good size portions! I did try their chai tea latte but wasn't a fan of that but Cronuts was a big yes! Inside was clean and aesthetically nice! It wasn't too busy when I went and service was great!
Wow! What more needs to be said? This bakery was an absolute delight from start to finish. Located in the lobby of an apartment building, the space is beautiful, cozy, and welcoming. As I looked around, I couldn't help but think that if I lived there, I'd probably be stopping in daily. The combination of a bakery and coffee house makes it the perfect neighborhood spot. Although I skipped the coffee this visit--it was mid-afternoon on a Sunday, and I wasn't looking for a caffeine boost--I'll definitely be back to give it a try. For this visit, we focused on the baked goods and sampled four items: the chocolate croissant doughnut, maple croissant doughnut, vanilla doughnut, and a red velvwtcupcake. Every single one was delicious. The croissant doughnuts were wonderfully flaky with just the right amount of sweetness, the vanilla doughnut was soft and flavorful, and the red velvet cupcake was rich and satisfying. It's rare to find a bakery where every item you try is a winner, but this one delivered across the board. Whether you're stopping in for coffee, a sweet treat, or both, this charming bakery is well worth a visit. I'll definitely be back. read more

Second time visiting and I have to go with 3.5. Just an okay spot for me. It's in the title, too sweet lol I didn't write a review the first time I went and I remember leaving with a Soso feeling and the second time confirms my feelings. Perhaps dining in is a better experience, I can't remember if they warm up the pastry but we took our maple, cheesecake croissant, and cinnamon roll to go. It tasted a day old. The croissant/ bread didn't taste fresh, almost stale. I opted to warm it up a bit, it was a bit better but then it just started feeling too sweet so I wasn't interested anymore. the cinnamon roll breading lacked flavor, but the cream on top was good. But again the bread dough just felt stale. It was a Sunday in the AM that we went. Not busy at all. Since it's a part of an apartment, parking is a little awkward and can feel tight. You could easily not notice the place and mistake it for being closed. It's right off of the round about. (the wind had blew over the open sign and the open sign wasn't lit) Service is okay, nice enough. Not really warm. Seating is ample and is cozy to sit and read or catch up with a friend. read more

3/29/26 We made it bright and early for a Strawberry Toaster Pastry and it didn't disappoint. We also ordered a Brownie Batter Croissant Doughnut, Plain Croissant, Birthday Cake Cookie & Breakfast Burrito. Kids loved everything except the Brownie Batter Croissant was a little too sweet for them and they didn't enjoy the filling in it. They're already picking out items for their next trip. Thank you service was wonderful! 3/28/26 Reading previous Yelp reviews a few people mentioned that they had a hard time finding the shop. Luckily they left good instructions on what to look for and where it's at. We found it without any problems and it doesn't take much for me to get lost or turned around. Right when you walk in everything looks so pretty and delicious. I loved their GF selection and variety of pastries. We order a GF Vanilla Sprinkle Donut since they were out of Strawberry Pop Tarts. I do want to explore the coffee/espresso menu more next time we visit. Thanks you, service was great. Plenty of spaces to sit at and enjoy our donut. read more

Glad to have found a new coffee spot to try. It's located in an apartment complex so it wasn't too busy. The coffee shop itself had cite decor and plenty of seating. There was too many desserts to choose from but I ended up getting the churro and cheesecake croissant doughnuts. Both were a bit too sweet for me however glad to have tried my first croissant doughnuts. I'd have to say, the star of the show was the caramel latte. I got a small and realized maybe should've got a medium. I got a great warm coffee taste with a hint of sweetness. I'll definitely be back for the coffee and maybe try the almond croissants instead. read more

If you love donuts and croissants this is the place for you! Their cronuts are so good. They are airy and soft and very sweet. I've tried 6 different flavors so far. My favorite is the churro and cheesecake. I would recommend those. Not a big fan of the passionfruit coconut. It tasted more like lemon coconut than passionfruit. Also the workers there are nice, the place is cute and they have a good matcha latte. read more

* Located on the floor level in the corner of the Novel apartments off the traffic circle. There's no sign outside, Too Sweet Cakes is written on the windows but in white so it's kind of hard to see when you are driving by. There is free parking on the sides. I passed it the first time so wanted to give ya'll a heads up! Too sweets is a cute and modern place when you walk in. Plenty of seating. They sell a variety of coffee, drinks and desserts which you can see displayed in the cases. I was greeted after the girl finished helping the couple ahead of me. She was really nice. I came around 1:30 on a Friday and it wasn't busy. There were still a good variety of desserts to choose from even though it closed at 3. I ordered 2 cronuts to go - the churro and cherry. I love cronuts/doisssnts so I've had my fair share. Sadly these were kind of hard and dry on the exterior. The cherry frosting was hard and didn't taste like cherry. I ended up peeling the inside layers apart to eat since those were not dry. My kids love cronuts but after a couple bites they lost interest... I wanted to love them but I am willing to try it one more time since my friend and sil said they liked them. But I will go in the morning instead, maybe they won't be dry! read more

I found this place via IG and I am so glad I did. I ordered a small cake for my moms 60th birthday and it was super easy. I placed my order online, picked a pickup date and time, submitted payment, and quickly received an email confirmation. The day finally arrived and I walked in a little past my pick up time. The one worker was helping someone else out so I glanced at the different pastries they still had available. The café is cute. Its situated in the lobby area of the apartment complex and it feels very inviting and cozy. There were several seating spots inside and out and I was surprised to see that it was pretty busy on a Friday at 1:30pm. Once my turn, I let her know I was picking up my cake and she took it out of the fridge. I was given some a few paper instructions on hoe to keep it fresh, cool, etc. She was also very friendly. The cake was delicious. We all enjoyed it and it was more then enough for a small group of 5. We each had a decent slice and we still had a few slices left over. I will definitely keep coming back for some more future cakes :) read more
Navigating this modern cafe was easy with the assistance of Google maps. I parked in one of the spots in front of building #2 of the Novel Apartment community. Spotting the cafe on the ground floor of the leasing office was effortless by reading the signs on their floor to ceiling windows. I walked through the patio seating and the cozy fireplace to the side entrance. Inside, a sleek showcase displayed fresh cupcakes $3.90, scones $3.60, croissants, donuts $4.00, gluten free banana bread slices $3.80, cookie sandos $3.90, handmade toaster pastries/pop tarts $3.95, macaroons, cake slices and a variety of cronuts! For those who read my reviews-I've found my happy place!! ;) I was told that the goods are baked daily and delivered to this shop and the Black Rock coffee bars. After some contemplation, I finally made my choice .....the cheesecake cronut. After taking the first bite, I praised myself for picking a winner. It was flakey, light and delicately sweet! My only wish? I wish that there would have been more cheesecake filling; after all this is what drew me to this $4.00 treat in the first place. Monday, I relaxed outside on the patio chairs starting this Yelp review. Inside would also have been a nice option as well with its simple contemporary decor, green planters, bright natural lighting and ample seating. I didn't have enough time to stay to enjoy one of their beverages; but after reading their extensive menu of coffee, lattes, matcha lattes, tea, seasonal lemonade, and seasonal refreshers, I'm eyeing the cortado. On my next visit, I'm planning to try the bacon/Gouda sando too! read more
Saw a post that we had a location in Gilbert, so of course I had to try it. I didn't go purchase the cronuts so I don't have much to say on the actual restaurant layout/decor but I heard it was very cute. We tried a few cronuts and they were really good! Definitely recommend checking this spot out. I'll have an updated review when I go in, can't wait to try their other items on their menu read more

This place is the worst breakfast experience I have ever had in the East Valley. It's a decent idea with extremely poor execution. We arrived just before 11am and it was completely dead. It's inside an apartment complex and there is 0 parking. Literally none. All parking beside it is reserved for tenants. We go to order our food and the menu board doesn't say what is all on a "Sando". Is it a bacon eggs and cheese sandwich? Anything else? Breakfast sauce? On what bread? We had to ask and slowly pull out each and every ingredient from the employee. After going through all of that they are out of every single meat/protein option at 11am on a Sunday. Then the employee says "I can't control what we have." Can someone teach them basic inventory management? So we just order 2 coffees and 2 cronuts. The cronuts had good flavor, but were hard as rocks. These things were not fresh at all and do stale. After waiting a solid 10 .minutes we finally get out coffee. The cold brew was legitimately the worse coffee I've had. I'm convinced they just go to a cheap gas station and buy it, then charge $7. read more
Two Sweet Cakes is a cute little counter in the newly opened Novel Val Vista apartments between Pecos and Market. Their beautiful pastries are displayed prominently in clean glass cases by attentive and friendly staff. They offered tempting and delectable flavored croissant doughnuts, nicely crisp and flakey croissants and a few gluten free vegan doughnuts too! They have several other offerings that I'm sure will be just as tasty but I'll need to go back to try them next week. I was too excited to try everything that I forgot to take pictures once I opened the box! We got a Boston cream croissant doughnut and a berry flavored one too. Also got a plain croissant and a ham and cheese to give those a try. Opted to get a gluten free vegan chocolate doughnut for a friend so didn't get to try it but pretty sure it was as yummy as it looked. Parking was convenient as it was just outside their door. There were seats inside and out on the patio so there's something for everyone. There was a short line behind me so I didn't linger long. Others that were there were looking and taking pictures of several goodies in the case. There aren't a lot of bakeries that offer gluten free and vegan options so I hope they do well in this area. Go check them out and keep them busy! You won't regret it! read more

I came her with my mom for the first time a while back, we decided to get a couple of the donuts and chai lattes. We got one cronut style donut and one gluten free donut. I liked the texture of both of them, and I do love how many options they have. They also had croissants, cakes, a few savory options as well. The donuts were very sweet, and the chai lattes were also very sweet, where I like more of a spicy chai. So not the best donuts or latte I've ever had, but not bad. I would come back to try their other food options. I also liked the space, it is at the bottom floor of an apartment building, and you can tell it's a new and nice building. read more

My husband and I saw Too Sweet Cakes on instagram and knew we had to try! It's kinda park of an apartment building which is good to know when you're looking for it! I got us a chocolate cronut (croissant donut) and a churro one. Had never had a cronut before but wow it's super delicious and flaky! The churro one was extra tasty with all the cinnamon sugar on it, yum. And one of them was free thanks to the yelp check in offer, definitely something to take advantage of! Staff was super nice and knowledgeable too. Would come back for sure! read more
