Kids loved everything except the Brownie Batter Croissant was a little too sweet for them and they didn't enjoy the filling in it. They're already picking out items for their next trip. Luckily they left good instructions on what to look for and where it's at. We found it without any problems and it doesn't take much for me to get lost or turned around. Second time visiting and I have to go with 3.5. Just an okay spot for me. It's in the title, too sweet lol I didn't write a review the first time I went and I remember leaving with a Soso feeling and the second time confirms my feelings. Perhaps dining in is a better experience, I can't remember if they warm up the pastry but we took our maple, cheesecake croissant, and cinnamon roll to go. It tasted a day old. The croissant/ bread didn't taste fresh, almost stale. I opted to warm it up a bit, it was a bit better but then it just started feeling too sweet so I wasn't interested anymore. the cinnamon roll breading lacked flavor, but the cream on top was good. But again the bread dough just felt stale. It was a Sunday in the AM that we went. Not busy at all. Since it's a part of an apartment, parking is a little awkward and can feel tight. You could easily not notice the place and mistake it for being closed. It's right off of the round about. I come here when I shop at Aldi and this morning, the manager was holding down the fort on her own. She was very friendly, happy to answer questions and offered recommendations on a delicious drink where she took the time to put finishing details on a crème brûlée drink! She knew the names of incoming customers. Clean cozy location with indoor/outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Part of the apartment complex so you're not looking for a standalone building. I picked up a birthday coconut berry cake today. I was initially disappointed because cake did not have any berries on top and looked plain. Additionally, I ordered a birthday plaque which should have included the birthday person's name but it sadly only said Happy Birthday with no name. Clearly, there were several oversights on this pricey cake. However, the cake itself was delicious and guests really liked it!! I stopped in here the other afternoon with a friend for an afternoon sweet treat! It's located inside the leasing office of the NOVEL Val Vista apt. complex. and there were some parking spots available nearby. Lots of seating available, and SOOO many delicious looking pastries!!! I am a HUGE fan and thus I'm SO sad that it's so far away in Gilbert. Hands down the best gluten free donuts I've ever had in my life. They do remind me of the croissant donut in that they're more dense, with the outer parts having a nice bite but the inside is fluffy and oh so perfect. My roommate and I split a churro and maple gluten free donut and we both loved the churro the most but both were so good. The donuts are massive so you can definitely save some for later (but it will be hard not to eat it all at once). I also had a crème brûlée latte with oat milk and it was heavenly. this spot came across my IG feed and I'm a sucker for donuts so we stopped by for a little family coffee date one morning since we were in the area! One thing to note is it is a bit hard to find at first but thankfully I looked at fellow Yelp reviewers and it helped us find it! Literally just look for the leasing office which is on the side of the building that faces ALDI! :) I know the shop's name is too sweet but we figured we would try some savory alongside the sweet to help balance things out lol. I picked out the bacon gouda sandwich in an English muffin. This was a total surprise to us how flavorful it actually was. The English muffin was soft and a little chewy, bacon was crispy, and the cheese was cheesin' I would recommend and get again when we go back because I'm already telling you, we will be back. lol For sweets we got a wild berry pie cronut and cranberry orange cronut. They were both good but I found the wild berry one to be even a little too sweet for me. The cranberry orange one I'd get again and again. It was a perfect combo of both flavors and not crazy sweet. If you are looking for a delicious easy breakfast on the go, definitely stop in. Too sweet offers plenty of sweet danishes/croissants and they have some savory options as well. First we tried the bacon gouda egg sandwich, which came on an English muffin. It was delicious! The egg was super soft, the bacon was crispy and the gouda cheese was melty and blended so well. Would definitely get again. We tried the turkey and jalapeño croissant. The outside had a nice cheesy crust to it, but the inside was lacking turkey. We literally couldn't find it, I did a double take and it had the smallest sliver. Even though it tasted good, it was too stingy on the inside. Nestled inside of the Novel Apartments, is Too Sweet Cakes, a quaint and delicious bakery. We had some difficulty trying to find it as the signage was just on their doors, but they are on the eastern end of the complex (by the leasing and nearest to Aldi.) We were greeted immediately but our eyes could not be taken from the beautiful pastry case! They have some many options of baked goods: cakes, cookies, macarons, doughnuts, and croissants. For our visit we just ordered their seasonal berry lemonade, drip coffee, orange cranberry doughnut, pumpkin bread, and churro doughnut. We sat outside the patio so our little one could run around and enjoy the view of the birds. It was very quiet during our visit and very peaceful. We enjoyed our doughnuts, a lot. I was less than a mile away and always wanted to try this place. I was hesitant because it's inside a leasing office to an apartment complex. I parked at Walgreens and walked. These Cronuts are the best I've ever had! Baked every morning. They even beat the original, Dominic Ansel in NYC! I had a few in shop with a black Cold Brew while I worked and had to take a few for the road. As far as coffee, I just had the cold brew, which is good. I love cronuts/doisssnts so I've had my fair share. Sadly these were kind of hard and dry on the exterior. The cherry frosting was hard and didn't taste like cherry. Glad to have found a new coffee spot to try. It's located in an apartment complex so it wasn't too busy. The coffee shop itself had cite decor and plenty of seating. There was too many desserts to choose from but I ended up getting the churro and cheesecake croissant doughnuts. Both were a bit too sweet for me however glad to have tried my first croissant doughnuts. I'd have to say, the star of the show was the caramel latte. This place is the worst breakfast experience I have ever had in the East Valley. It's a decent idea with extremely poor execution. We arrived just before 11am and it was completely dead. It's inside an apartment complex and there is 0 parking. Literally none. All parking beside it is reserved for tenants. We go to order our food and the menu board doesn't say what is all on a "Sando". Is it a bacon eggs and cheese sandwich? Anything else? Breakfast sauce? On what bread? We had to ask and slowly pull out each and every ingredient from the employee. After going through all of that they are out of every single meat/protein option at 11am on a Sunday. Then the employee says "I can't control what we have." Can someone teach them basic inventory management? So we just order 2 coffees and 2 cronuts. The cronuts had good flavor,but were hard as rocks. These things were not fresh at all and do stale. After waiting a solid 10 .minutes we finally get out coffee. The cold brew was legitimately the worse coffee I've had. I'm convinced they just go to a cheap gas station and buy it, then charge $7. read more

I found this place via IG and I am so glad I did. I ordered a small cake for my moms 60th birthday and it was super easy. I placed my order online, picked a pickup date and time, submitted payment, and quickly received an email confirmation. The day finally arrived and I walked in a little past my pick up time. The one worker was helping someone else out so I glanced at the different pastries they still had available. The café is cute. Its situated in the lobby area of the apartment complex and it feels very inviting and cozy. There were several seating spots inside and out and I was surprised to see that it was pretty busy on a Friday at 1:30pm. Once my turn, I let her know I was picking up my cake and she took it out of the fridge. I was given some a few paper instructions on hoe to keep it fresh, cool, etc. She was also very friendly. The cake was delicious. We all enjoyed it and it was more then enough for a small group of 5. We each had a decent slice and we still had a few slices left over. Inside, a sleek showcase displayed fresh cupcakes $3.90, scones $3.60, croissants, donuts $4.00, gluten free banana bread slices $3.80, cookie sandos $3.90, handmade toaster pastries/pop tarts $3.95, macaroons, cake slices and a variety of cronuts! For those who read my reviews-I've found my happy place!! ;) I was told that the goods are baked daily and delivered to this shop and the Black Rock coffee bars. After some contemplation, I finally made my choice .....the cheesecake cronut. After taking the first bite, I praised myself for picking a winner. It was flakey, light and delicately sweet! My only wish? I wish that there would have been more cheesecake filling; after all this is what drew me to this $4.00 treat in the first place. Monday, I relaxed outside on the patio chairs starting this Yelp review. Inside would also have been a nice option as well with its simple contemporary decor, green planters, bright natural lighting and ample seating. This is a cute little bakery ion the level floor of an apartment complex. I have wanted to stop a number of times but parking wasn't easily avaiable so I went on my way. However a few days ago I decided no matter what I was stopping. I am so glad I did because I think I found my new obsession. Croissant donuts. Two Sweet Cakes is a cute little counter in the newly opened Novel Val Vista apartments between Pecos and Market. Their beautiful pastries are displayed prominently in clean glass cases by attentive and friendly staff. They offered tempting and delectable flavored croissant doughnuts, nicely crisp and flakey croissants and a few gluten free vegan doughnuts too! They have several other offerings that I'm sure will be just as tasty but I'll need to go back to try them next week. I was too excited to try everything that I forgot to take pictures once I opened the box! We got a Boston cream croissant doughnut and a berry flavored one too. Also got a plain croissant and a ham and cheese to give those a try.
