Nestled in a somewhat busier shopping center is Kind Bean. A mostly Vegan coffee shop that has very friendly service the couple times I've stopped in. I love not just local coffee shops, but ones that serve actual breakfast items versus prepackaged items. I loved that you can order avocado toast, and I was excited to try recently when stopping in. The avocado toast consists of: hand smashed avocado, lemon, Himalayan sea salt and olive oil. Overall, I found it a bit underwhelming as it needed red chili flakes, fresh cracked pepper, everything bagel seasoning, or even a drizzle of balsamic glaze to elevate the flavor. Though, I appreciated the freshness of the avocado and lemon. It just needed that little bit to go from a decent avocado toast to an exceptional avocado toast! Next visit, I'd look over the menu to see if there was a toast with more flavor. Previously before this last visit, I had stopped in here once not realizing it was a mostly vegan shop and purchased a take home Hatch Mac n Cheese. I didn't realize at the time of purchasing it contained tree nut, so I gifted to my cousin who said it was delicious. A mistake on my part to read the label more carefully (laid out differently than a typical label at a store). I tend to avoid Vegan restaurants as tree nuts are heavily used, but this location has been a great compromise of offering both vegan and dairy products (serving whole milk versus cream). Lastly, this place has cozy seating and a good atmosphere. Definitely a place I can leisurely sip a drink or enjoy some avocado toast. Came here for international Womens Day! I'm happy to support a woman owned business! Coffee- I had the cold brew, which was great! I also tried their maple pastry, which was also good. Cozy environment I saw some people having the avocado toast that had different varieties, which looked great and I can't wait to come back to try.! there's also outdoor seating great place to hang out. Do some work, read a book or have coffee with friends. They have merch. They also of our free coffee grounds for gardening or compost. There's also a donation then for helping others. Great coffee shop! I stopped by on Saturday about an hour before their closing time and there were a few customers out on their patio area. The inside was clean and cozy. Stopped in today for the first time while I was out running errands. The owner greeted me right away and took the time to offer several suggestions - including a blended coconut pineapple coffee drink, which I ultimately went with. It was a fun summer coffee drink and I'm excited to return to try out the many pastries. They partner with Peixoto for their coffee beans. Kind Bean is a husband and wife owned business that serves organic coffee, cold drinks, amazing pastries and desserts. They even have vegan options. I have been going to this establishment for a couple years: providing a treat for my son with severe allergies. However, since being sold, am forced to publish an unflattering review. Under new ownership, Kind Bean doesn't sell products of consistent quality, varieties have been reduced to a minimum, and the workers are unexperienced and untrained. Also, if the ordering system is working (a 50-50 proposition), one isn't guaranteed that the pre-order will be fulfilled the next day. I've been searching for a local breakfast spot with cozy café vibes and Wi-Fi where I can work on homework between classes. Based on their current Yelp rating, I had high hopes that this might finally be the spot. The interior is cute and has the feel of a small coffee shop, but there were a few things that stood out as opportunities for improvement. When I arrived, I was told they were completely out of breakfast burritos, which make up about half of the food menu. The toast options are only sold in quantities of two or four slices. While the slices are small, I wish there were a single-toast option or the ability to mix a toast with a pastry, especially since the cinnamon roll looked tempting. Two pieces of toast plus a pastry was simply too much! Flavor-wise, the Southwest Black Bean toast was good and tasted as described. However, the Hummus Bruschetta toast was underwhelming and lacked flavor! It tasted like plain hummus covered with diced tomatoes. I was expecting more basil or seasoning to bring it to life. A small but notable inconvenience: after eating, the to-go box wouldn't fit into the small trash opening, and I had to ask the barista to throw it away. I also attempted to order a chai latte but was told they were out of the ingredients. I opted for a café latte with caramel, but it was very mild in flavor, both the espresso and caramel. Overall, both the food and drinks felt under-seasoned and overpriced. For roughly $20 spent on two small toasts and a small latte, I was hoping for bolder flavor. One final note: I noticed a packaged high-protein pancake mix for sale. If it's something they retail, it would be nice to see it offered on the menu to try first. Despite the disappointments, I would try this place again. That said, it may be a while before I return -- and I'm hoping I don't find another spot in the meantime that makes me forget about this one altogether. read more

This is the cutest little spot and is conveniently located a quick drive from our home! They have a ton of pastries, coffee drinks, and lots of cooked food items, as well! The staff was very friendly and my fiance and I both ordered hot food which was provided quickly for us (with options for dine in and take out)! I also enjoyed their 'Daily Tea' which was Fuzzy Peach (there was another option as well) alongside a Loaded Burrito with a side of green salsa. Today was my first time trying the Kind Bean since COVID. I was excited to come try it out since I remember it being amazing. I got their peppermint latte and my friend got the Black Forest (which is a black cherry latte). While the coffee was not very strong, it tasted okay and the barista making the drinks was very friendly. What made me sad was a lack of a holiday menu. Coffee shops everywhere have these amazing menus that include fun holiday drinks--that wasn't the case here. If this wasn't so far away from me The Kind Bean would be my new go-to coffee shop. It's a women-owned coffee shop run by a really sweet owner who was very kind and gave great suggestions. The Kind Bean lives up to its name with its art with the definition of kindness and synonyms. Hubby and I always like to try out new coffee places and the Kind Bean was next on our list! It's a cute small cafe with tables where you can sit and do some work (most of these are two-seat tables only) or just read a book. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the barista. She was very kind and friendly, and gave us a "tour" of the menu. She talked through what they offer and told us that everything is made fresh on the daily - which made sense since they were nearly out of baked items despite it only being 12pm! I ordered a hot mint mocha, my husband got an iced caramel mocha with oat milk and we got the last lemon poppy seed scone to share. The drinks were good and I appreciate that the barista actually made my coffee extra hot like I asked for (which most people don't do despite my request). We happened to be there on a day they were having a Yelp event. I'm going to assume the increased volume contributed to them being out of almost everything. It's a vegan shop with lots of food options. They only had one or two pastries left, so we ended up getting an espresso chip scone from their day old selection. That scone was AMAZING and I would definitely be back to try the pastries. They also offer toasts and burritos but told us those would be a long wait due to the high volume of people (and I appreciate the heads up!). The service was amazing and everyone working there was so kind and helpful. The coffee was honestly really disappointing. We tried the butter pecan and Black Forest options. The butter pecan was bitter without any sweetness at all. The Black Forest had such an overpowering cherry taste I couldn't drink it. Prior to moving to the Chandler area I stopped in at The Kind Bean once but they were all out of vegan treats. Defeated I vowed to try again next time I was in the area. I never tried again and coincidentally moved to Chandler but totally forgot about Kind Bean until it was brought up in a a local vegan group. Loaded burrito - home fries, tofu scramble, American cheeze, smoky tempeh & pico. It was just ok not enough flavor for me. I had to add some seasoning to it. Strawberry vanilla latte - espresso, vanilla, & strawberries. Very tasty The 3rd time I stopped in I got: Vanilla berry steamer - vanilla & strawberry purée with steamed coconut milk. Adding the coconut milk took it to the next level so good. Cinnamon spiral - It was ok nothing overly spectacular but not bad. Cherry turnover pie scone - scone filled with cherry jam, sugar crusted & drizzled with cherry glaze. I'm not a fan of scones but I know they're popular here so I wanted to try one. Not a bad spot to grab your coffee at! This spot is located along South Mcqueen Rd and is right in between a Panda Express and Subway. You can find plenty of parking in the lot of the plaza, and there is patio seating along with indoor seating. It wasn't too busy when I visited on a weekday during lunch, and I really liked how they had a wide assortment of vegan treats in their pastry box. I ordered their strawberry matcha. I was pleasantly surprised -- it was creamy, sweet, and had a nice taste of natural strawberries with every sip. I was disappointed that they didn't have wifi available for customers, so this is more of a sit down and eat kind of place rather than a coffee shop to study at. The space had ample seating indoor and out. The menu offers a wide variety of coffee and tea drinks, breakfast items, pastries, and lunch. Everything is vegan. I needed a few minutes to look over the menu and the staff was patient with me. They also explained some of the popular items and answered my questions. I decided on an oat milk latte as well as two burritos for us: JoeBurrito and Loaded Burrito. Though the burritos were different from each other, they both had KIND tofu scramble and home fries. Pretty tasty and filling! Reasonably priced, too. The burritos were ~$10-11 each. Though I didn't indulge at the time, the pastries were very tempting.
