When stopping at Black Rock around the valley, I frequent the drive thru and they usually have a great experience with both excellent service and cleanliness of the exterior regardless of the store location. There was a bee flying that almost went in to my car window. An employee tried to shoo it, and I was worried about being stung though I had an epi pen on me as needed. I wish they had an air curtain that would deter flying insects. I rushed to get my beverage and blueberry muffin as I rolled up and down my window. It really brought down the usual upbeat experience, and hope they invest in an air curtain like other drive thrus have to detract flying insects. read more

Popped in yesterday after the gym and I ordered the Iced Tangerine, Strawberry and Pomegranate Fuel (A fruity syrupy drink made with the Fuel energy drink). I'm not sure if the drink has an actual name but it's a part of their holiday drink menu. I added the holiday soft cap foam on top for funsies. Note: sprinkles dissolving in an energy drink is a questionable decision. All in all, it was good drink but I still took a midday nap on the sofa afterwards. read more

We met up here after a morning of hiking. I had been previously to another location, but it was through the drive-thru. The inside was bright with lots of windows which gave it a feeling of being outside if you chose, as we did to sit inside. We noticed that if you downloaded the app, you got a free medium size drink. The barista was patient with us as we did that. I ordered a nitro cold brew, and it was perfect with lots of foam - as it should be. Unfortunately, two of our friends who met us there and go there regularly were told that they were not in the system. So, their points had not been adding up. Do yourself a favor and make sure that if you want the points are linked in through the app/or your phone number. Overall, we had a great time unwinding after a full morning. I have been to this location in downtown Chandler before, also on occasion to the one in Gilbert. Different creation and flavors of coffee. Also have an app to where you can use as a punch card after so many visits to earn a free coffee also. read more

Odd drive thru set up for sure, as it can get pretty backed up in the alley way, leading into the street in the early AM. Pretty sad honestly because it blocks traffic! The lady standing in the drive thru taking orders was very nice and I hope that they don't make her stand out there all day in this heat. She deserves a raise or all of the tips honestly!!! My only complaint is that, you guys were celebrating customer appreciation day at these establishments in which, you guys are advertising a coffee drink which is posted all over with cool whip and sprinkles but, then, when I approached the window, you attempted to pass me a watered down coffee drink with no cool whip and sprinkles, in which, the child in me wanted since it was ADVERTISED I mean, why not dish out what you're advertising and serving, unless it's spoken "not to" upon ordering. This is such a nice location. I've always purchased through the drive thru. I was pleasantly surprised by how bright and fun the interior is. I loved the art. I liked the outdoor seating options. I saw someone working. It's a nice option to have as an alternate workspace. I truly enjoyed my tea! It was so refreshing on a hot day. My friend is a regular at the Queen Creek location. This place is good and they make the drinks almost too perfection . However, depending on the day the wait time can get a little excessive. The service doesn't change but you will wait a while. The drive through is always pretty packed in the mornings and good the lunch rush. But the inside is always clean and stocked. It's a nice atmosphere overall. Good for friends and family. Stopped by here over a month ago when I was in town visiting. Hubs and I went through the drive-thru. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was a short line. The staff was friendly and helpful. She was also patient and answered all of my questions. I ordered an iced honey cinnamon oat milk latte. The ratio of cinnamon and honey was just right. It's always great grabbing my nitro. There was a huge line, which is always a good sign they continue to be legit. Decided to walk inside to kill some time and not volunteer myself as tribute for that drive thru line. Note that if you park in the back, walk toward the middle instead of to the left. The entrance is marked on the door with the red chairs outside. I accidentally walked into the side restaurant, which seems to be the normal mistake since the employee said the coffee shop is next door. Perhaps they can work on some better signage as a whole with all neighbors, too. Great decor and trendy vibe for my first time inside. Foe the environmentally friendly, I also asked the cashier gal about bringing our own mugs, and she didn't sound sure but sounded like a no. I went today and mobile ordered and had the worst experience I've had at black rock. There were two people behind the bar but only one of them was working. There was this rude black girl with dreads who was not helping the guy at the bar make drinks and he was clearly overwhelmed and backed up. Almost 10 minutes later another employee comes out and i ask if they can just refund my drink order because i still hadn't gotten It and I was already late and she told me she was unable too. The black girl with dreads then proceeded to talk crap about me while making my drinks. She really needs to be trained in customer service because she doesn't have any. I will no longer be going to this location on the weekends because their quality of service is not up to the normal standard. read more

Came in at open during a trip to AZ. I noticed locals coming in throughout my hour there. Great seating inside to stay cool, and a pretty good drip. I didn't get too adventurous with my drink this time, but would come back to the fancy pop tart treat! Staff seemed to enjoy working there and were attentive to me. read more

The entrance to the coffee place is a little tricky. It faces the main road - Arizona avenue but looks like it has a back entrance and the drive through is before the coffee shop starts. Unless you are familiar with the place you are sure to cross the drive through. We went with caramel truffle and kids apple juice. Plus points for the cups, they are trendy and the graphics are really good. The caramel truffle was overly sugary and it could easily be your dessert. The sweet was over powering the coffee for sure. Would love to try other simple coffee with less sugar. read more

First time here. Met up here after hiking. I ended up getting I mint chip chiller. Barista was friendly and helpful with my selection. The floor plan is open bright and lots of different seating options. There is seating inside as well as outside. Parking was free, but I could see where on the weekends it could be hard to find parking. Overall, a good experience. read more

On Friday, Nov 19th, 2021 Black Rock Coffee Bar opened their 100th location! They had a line up of vehicles around two blocks with people wanting to get their free 16 oz drink! I must say they were staffed with super upbeat/enthusiastic employees! Briefly talking to them helped made the 20 min line go quick! I ordered two drinks through the drive-thru, a medium Hot chocolate and a large iced Irish coffee. The coffee was way too sweet, it seemed to have too much cream or milk. The hot chocolate was also a little too sweet even though I asked for it be made less sweet and it didn't taste very chocolate-like, it was more milky. The staff were friendly though, so that's good. Better than Starbucks (coffee-wise and snack-wise). This is a brand new coffee shop right at a busy intersection of downtown Chandler. However, it's rarely busy when I've been here both walk-in and drive-thru. DO try their Ham & Swiss Croissant! And also their banana bread. I believe they get all their pastries from a local bakery called Too Sweet Cakes in Phoenix. Their specialty coffees are just fine (seasonal pumpkin is delicious). I appreciate their variety in milk options and blends. Service has always been super fast and friendly. read more

Black Rock Coffee Bars are taking over AZ. Just a few years ago we only had a handful of locations. Now they are everywhere. This location opened in downtown Chandler in late 2021. It has both walk-up and drive-thru service and is pretty spacious. Black Rock Coffee offers a variety of drink options, from drip coffee to mochas to espresso to hot teas. They gave out free coffee to the public on opening day and I tried their Caramel Blondie. I've been here a couple times since then and enjoy the energy and friendliness of the staff. It's nice to have a Black Rock within a few minutes from home. read more

Normally a quick stop, for a great iced coffee. Today I waited over 25 minutes in the line, without the speaker box, for a subpar coffee. It is a bit much and almost deters one from stopping again. The window person said there were 3 new employees working this morning, whether that is true or an excuse... who knows. But maybe don't have so many new people on a single shift if they can't turn good coffee and cars. read more

I've stopped by this location early in the mornings and have always been helped quickly and with great service (via their drive thru). My drinks come out tasting just how i'd expect. Literally every other black rock is so much better than the one in downtown chandler. Whenever I go to this one there is always something wrong with my drink. Once I ordered a vanilla latte- the easiest most basic drink to make and when i got it and tried it there was no syrup in it just plain espresso and milk. By the time i had tried it I was already gone and too far to drive back. This time i had gone on Feb 9 at 12:30pm to get the $4 drink of the day which was a Chai Tea Latte. I have had so many chais from other coffee shops but this chai was so extremely bad i dont even know how they are not embarrassed to serve that. The chai is a watery mess despite asking for light ice. It seriously tastes like you mixed cinnamon and sugar into a glass of water and called it a day. Furthermore I had waited 20 minutes to get my chai despite only have three cars in front of me at the drive thru. How can each car take five minutes to get 1-2 drinks each?!?! When I reached the window i was met with an incompetent worker who i kid you not took 5 minutes just to take my order of one chai. If your customers are waiting that long to receive one drink maybe put someone else on the register! I left the drive thru at 12:49 with a disgusting chai that I couldn't even drink past two sips. read more
