J Fortune Bakery is inside the Lee Lee International Supermarket located in Chandler, AZ. This bakery holds a very small space. They sell cakes, pastries, baked goods, and steamed buns. At first glance of the cakes, I thought they were old cakes because they appeared discolored. However, that's not the case. The cakes are in plastic form. It makes me wonder if the customer has to order the cake and not be able to buy it at a whim. Anyway, there was a limited variety of baked goods. Tons of steamed buns sold by the bag though... bun fillings come in red bean taro, veggie, chicken, and bbq pork. There's a sign that says the buns are cold so please do let the staff know should you plan to buy them and want them heated up. My eldest daughter and I didn't see anything to our liking, hence, we didn't buy anything. There was a spur of the moment where I felt bad for this bakery because there were no customers at the time. I had an inclination to offer my support & patronage and buy something, but I didn't. I'm sure they do just fine if they are still in business. If you're in the area, come on by and support your neighborhood J Fortune Bakery!

Located inside Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket, J. Fortune Bakery sits next to the produce and baked goods section. They make a number of steamed buns, cakes, breads, and pastries Asian style. The wedding cakes looked gorgeous. The woman in front was very helpful with my selection of goods to take home. I love green tea buns, bbq and savory buns, and red bean paste buns. These are so good and they had each and every one that they make by hand. She suggested a rolled green tea cake, which I thought was going to be a bit much but when I got it home, it was so light and creamy. It was filled with a green tea whipped cream. Yum. I ordered steamed chicken buns and the bbq buns, which were moist, soft, and had very light but good flavors. The red bean paste buns were more dense and had a great sweet red bean flavor. The prices were pretty reasonable as well, I had a small bag filled with goodies for $12. A definite must stop whenever I am at Lee Lee's! Also, ask for a discount card. After you collect 10 stamps, you get a $10 free reward. I am not sure about the expiration date, so you will have to ask.

When I went into Leelee's I was not expecting to find a Bakery with baked goods I'd normally have to go out to mesa or Tempe to find! And all of it looks AMAZING! The only reason I wasn't able to make this a five is because I didn't have the money to buy ALL OF IT! The cakes and cake slices are all well decorated. The buns are nice and golden brown, I had trouble deciding what I would want! I hope this place stays open for a long time to come!

    All kinds of yumminess!

Nice and fresh. Can't live without their buns. If you like asian style pastries (less sweet, more flavor), definetly do not miss this one.

Walking in…read morefor the first time, it was so much fun seeing the huge variety of baked goods, breads, pastries, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks they had to offer. There were so many options that it honestly took me a while to decide what I wanted! I really liked the self-serve bakery concept because it lets you browse at your own pace and pick out whatever catches your eye. They have a great mix of both sweet and savory items, along with an extensive drink menu featuring both hot and cold beverages, so there's truly something for everyone no matter what you're craving. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful. The pastries were light and delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly with the food. You can definitely tell they take pride in the quality of what they serve. The only thing I'd mention is that they don't accept American Express. It wasn't an issue for me since I had another payment method, but it's something to keep in mind before visiting. Overall, this was a fantastic first experience, and I can definitely see why so many people recommend 85°C Bakery Cafe. Between the incredible selection, fresh-tasting food, delicious drinks, and unique bakery experience, I'll definitely be back to try even more of their menu.

I loved 85c when I visited the one in Orange County but was slightly disappointed by this location:…read moreslow to make your drink and not as much selection of pastries. Located right next to 99 ranch and other Asian stores, 85c has Asian pastries, cookies, breads and drinks. We enjoyed a few baos with cream filling, a slice of coffee cake and the black milk tea. I usually don't get chocolatey things at Asian bakeries because they rarely "do" chocolate well, and it was the same here: the chocolate chip cookie and black forest cake were only okay and just not rich enough with a cocoa taste. Sign up for their rewards program to get discounts and promotions, even though you have to buy quite a bit to get anything and the points expire. Compared to non-Asian bakeries, everything is a much more reasonable price overall. A few tables are available, though I can imagine it being crowded. Still would love to get an 85c closer to home!

We've only been to the one in Old Town Mesa, by the fine art theater. Just glad its not next door, because I'd start living there! Not to sound like a hoity toity food snob, (kind of like when someone says they are not a "conspiracy theorist," but then they go into great lengths about conspiracies -- I'll be a snob here. Their pastries and breads are next level. They aren't just baking an excellent product (which would be enough to make me happy in area that lacks artisan bakers) they are "crafting" baking art. I hate to compare to the European Bakery craft (because there are plenty of great American bakers) but Europe does have that as a trademark (at least France, Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.) If all I ate eat each day was one of their croissants, it would be enough - theirs just flake away from the outside, and then a tender airy sourdough inside. Pain au Chocolate - excellent. Croissant - excellent. Oh -- Chocolate Chuck cookie - unbelievable. Best I've ever had. Chewy, buttery, crunchy. Not caky. I'll be heading back for sourdough bread and other goodies. No photos - I eat the goods too fast.

I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.
