    Wedding cakes
    Chris S.

Located inside Lee Lee Oriental Supermarket, J. Fortune Bakery sits next to the produce and baked goods section. They make a number of steamed buns, cakes, breads, and pastries Asian style. The wedding cakes looked gorgeous. The woman in front was very helpful with my selection of goods to take home. I love green tea buns, bbq and savory buns, and red bean paste buns. These are so good and they had each and every one that they make by hand. She suggested a rolled green tea cake, which I thought was going to be a bit much but when I got it home, it was so light and creamy. It was filled with a green tea whipped cream. Yum. I ordered steamed chicken buns and the bbq buns, which were moist, soft, and had very light but good flavors. The red bean paste buns were more dense and had a great sweet red bean flavor. The prices were pretty reasonable as well, I had a small bag filled with goodies for $12. A definite must stop whenever I am at Lee Lee's! Also, ask for a discount card. After you collect 10 stamps, you get a $10 free reward. I am not sure about the expiration date, so you will have to ask.

    The sign of new beginnings!

When I went into Leelee's I was not expecting to find a Bakery with baked goods I'd normally have to go out to mesa or Tempe to find! And all of it looks AMAZING! The only reason I wasn't able to make this a five is because I didn't have the money to buy ALL OF IT! The cakes and cake slices are all well decorated. The buns are nice and golden brown, I had trouble deciding what I would want! I hope this place stays open for a long time to come!

    All kinds of yumminess!

Nice and fresh. Can't live without their buns. If you like asian style pastries (less sweet, more flavor), definetly do not miss this one.

Located right next to 99 ranch and other Asian stores, 85c has Asian pastries, cookies, breads and drinks. We enjoyed a few baos with cream filling, a slice of coffee cake and the black milk tea. I usually don't get chocolatey things at Asian bakeries because they rarely "do" chocolate well, and it was the same here: the chocolate chip cookie and black forest cake were only okay and just not rich enough with a cocoa taste. Sign up for their rewards program to get discounts and promotions, even though you have to buy quite a bit to get anything and the points expire. Compared to non-Asian bakeries, everything is a much more reasonable price overall. A few tables are available, though I can imagine it being crowded. Still would love to get an 85c closer to home!

BUT I did make reservations for the next day, so I wouldn't leave Arizona without out trying this place. Choices were hard, but we narrowed it down to "Butcher" pizza and Uncle Arthur's sausage meatball, parmigiano cream with mafalde pasta! It was a good choice for us. Just enough food for the two of us with a glass of white wine! We REALLY, REALLY wanted to try to save room for Tiramisu, but we just couldn't. We were staying at a hotel, so we knew we couldn't take home the left overs since we were heading back to California the next morning. Oh, oh, I wish you guys were here in San Diego, but looks like I will have to wait till our next trip to Chandler! What a great lively place....if it wasn't so cold I would have opted to sit outside. It looked pretty out there, too!

The young gal behind the counter was very friendly and was busting her ass with triple duty: taking orders, bussing tables, delivering food. There's a fair selection of quiches to choose from, I think about six varieties, and a pretty hefty selection of delectable pastries. Caution: the eating area is a bit small (maybe fits about a dozen people). That said, do not be surprised or upset if you have to take your order to go. The parking could potentially be a bit tight, too, since it's not a very large lot. Regardless, don't let that stop you from hitting up Q&P for some tasty food. It's worth it.

I know they're vegetarian, but I wanted to double check with her. She responds as "vegetarian means no meat, right"? All employees working at a food establishment should know what vegetarian means. This was quite baffling to hear. I asked her for a new slice because the one that was out on display was visibly burned and the other slice was touching pepperoni from the meat pizza. As mentioned, I'm a vegetarian. Therefore, I could not have either one of those slices. She proceeds to say that's how the pizzas are. They are slightly burned because they are so sourdough. While I can accept this answer, I do not accept the fact that she would not be willing to give me another slice as a paying customer. She insensitively said she can't give me a new one until all the old slices are taken up. She mentioned that this is their procedure. According to this, they are saying that they will not provide a proper product unless the old, damaged product, or unacceptable by the customer is used up first. If this is their business model, then it is apparent they do not value customer service. This business should have the competence to understand that if they want to sell a product, they cannot sell it in a condition that the customer is not satisfied with. Most importantly, being a vegetarian, they should have the sensitivity to understand that if a slice is touching the meat product then they cannot consume it. And again, the employee completely disregarded my health and religious beliefs by not accommodating me. You usually won't encounter problems when you're just trying to buy bread. However, it reflects on the business's employees greatly when there is a problem and they do not value customer service by resolving or accommodating the customer's satisfaction. I will be switching to Noble exclusively. Especially since it's so readily available at the farmers markets and stores.
