    3. Grilled Beef / Bò Nướng
    Hayden J.

Was recommended by a friend to try this place since I love banh mi's and I'm so upset that I hadn't tried it until now! This may be my favorite spot to get a banh mi in AZ. I got the lemongrass grilled beef and it was so flavorful. Everything tasted fresh. The bread itself was also fluffy and soft. I hate when the bread is too crunchy and tears up the roof of your mouth in the process of eating, but this one was quite the opposite. I will DEFINITELY be back when I'm in the area!

My friend brought me a sandwich from here to work and I've been dreaming of it ever since. I'll be going back today to get another one. The meat was tender and perfect. The vegetables crispy and fresh, the dressing delicious and the bread roll so fresh....6 stars if I could!

I love mekong sandwhiches and love how it's in the mekong plaza!! The #3 grilled beef banh mi was good. The meat is so juicy and tender and has great flavor. I also love how they sell a lot of Vietnamese snacks and food there. It's really nice to see the typical vietnamese snacks and desserts, sesame balls, pate, and sticky rice. We got their sesame balls and it was delicious. Service is very quick and efficient - comes out within 5 minutes. They also take card!

Traveling through Arizona and thanks to other Yelp reviewers, we found this place to grab a couple of bahn mi sandwiches and a drink. Thanks Yelpers! Friendly service and a nice restaurant with a good amount of seating inside and outside. They have a good selection of drinks and food items. The store itself also has a lot of snack items for sale. Highly recommend this place if you're in Mesa Arizona and craving some good Vietnamese food.

Mekong Sandwiches is located on the outside perimeter of the Mekong Plaza. My friend wanted an iced Vietnamese coffee before leaving the plaza. Mekong Sandwiches offers this. We sat outside for a bit, and it was warm. She had to go down the coffee before it got too warm too. Shared parking outside

    #3 Grilled Beef, add egg ($2)= $11

I still LOVE Mekong Sandwiches but admittedly, the prices have gone up, doubled even- from $4.85 in 2021 to ~$8 in 2024/2025. The su da is about $5, so the combo is $14. There is less meat than I remember, and it's always on one side of the sandwich (left). It was $2 to add an egg to my sandwich today. I'll still support them because: 1. It's a fresh Bahn mi, 2. it's convenient, 3. Support small!

Mekong special - like a deli meat sandwich.

Traveling through AZ and saw all the good reviews. Got a golden milk tea and it's really good! Didn't even know it came with boba - happy surprise! Got the Mekong special sandwich which is their version of a deli meat combo. The meat and veggie ratio was good, with a lot of meat. I would like a little more pate, but it was tasty. (You can add more pate for $1.). Also had the pork sandwich. It was good too, but I preferred the Mekong. The guy at the counter was friendly and helpful with a few questions we had. It's located in what appears to be the Asian district of town and is bright and roomy, with some small tables for dining in. There's a large counter with a lot of other food items not on the menu. Also a restroom for customers. My favorite Bahn Mi is actually in Vegas, but this was a good find. Next time we're in this part of AZ, I'm coming here for my Bahn Mi fix.

Stopped by for a quick bite. It is located within the Mekong plaza which can be quite busy but it's definitely worth the visit. We ordered the #2 which was the pork sandwich . It's reasonably priced and quite delicious. The bread was so fresh and soft. The sandwich spot also offers other tasty snacks.. the seating area is available and was clean. Would love to come back!

I still love this place, always so delicious. I have had a few sandwiches that I didn't love there, but overall this place still easily has the best sandwiches that I have ever tried in Phoenix, and I think I've been to every alternative. They are also fast, always busy, and it has a very casual, no-frills, café vibe. Highly recommended!

This place is gonnabe leave me with some memories. I was recommended by this place by my cousin, whom I haven't seen for 25 years. We met up here, the vibes were chill and simple. Just the way I liked it! I ordered the standard, Banh Mi Dac Biet, The prices were reasonable, nothing crazy. The sandwiches came out fast and the roll tasted fresh. The main different thing about their Bahi Mi, is that it has red onions, it was slivered either, it was cubed, like for chili. We were there for a good hour before I had to go on the plane. I even ordered some sandwiches too go to bring back! Overall, I would come here again!

Not sure what has changed, ordered 2 sandwiches one with extra meat as pictured, but had the same amount as mine, my boyfriend was not impressed, the bread was a tad bit too crunchy and these weren't as good as I remembered, I got the combo with a Vietnamese coffee, which was terrible, I threw it away and yes I know what Vietnamese coffee tastes like. This was bitter and had a weird taste. Overall this has gone down since my last visits

Not just my favorite banh mi, but my favorite SANDWICH in all of AZ. I have been going here for a few years, and felt compelled to make another visit after a disappointment at Lee's Sandwiches. I love their grilled pork banh mi, and they have an extra meat option which I always take. All the sandwiches are super reasonably priced as well. Every time I order, it has never taken longer than 5 minutes to receive; they make everything super fast. That being said, the meat and bread are always hot and the vegetables are always fresh and crisp. I have ordered just their bread before, it's really delicious and has a nice crisp outside and soft inside. The restaurant is always clean and there is a lot of seating.

I think I've just found my favorite banh mi place in town. Extremely reasonable price and portion, and the bread! The bread isn't hard as other places and still crispy on the outside, it was the best! It has always been the downside of eating banh mi because the bread is like a jaw workout and half way through it you are exhausted, but no more! Also extra shout out that they clicked away the tipping screen themselves when paying. This actually made me wanted to tip because today's tipping culture is out of control. I can always get behind a shop with good business practices. I think I'll be coming here a lot more.

Our pork vermicelli bowl was okay, the fish sauce was plain and a little too salty, and was missing the minced garlic. But the meat was well seasoned and the portion was great. I would definitely go here if you're looking for something new or seeking a rarer dish. They also have VERY generous portion sizing, so it's pretty good value. If you wanted something familiar like pho or rice dishes, I personally feel that other places do them better. I have a family member who went separately who said the banh khot (a rarer dish in the US) they ordered was better than the regular Vietnamese offerings. When my partner I went, service was a little slow and distracted. They currently have the World Cup games playing on the TV for both customers and themselves. I don't mind the fanfare around the excitement for the games, but the waiter did get our food order wrong due to the distraction :( The bussed tables were pretty clean, but a lot of tables were left unbussed for a very long time due to the game too. My partner and I went with the meatball and brisket pho and bun thit nuong (except this one came out wrong and was just bun cha gio). Cyclo's pho style is on the sweeter side. I was a little shocked at how sweet it was. The bowl size is huge and comes with plenty of noodles. They don't skimp. My partner's bun cha gio was okay. Cyclo is a little more special in that they put taro in their cha gio (egg rolls). We personally weren't fans of this, but it is unique. The taro gives the filling a slimier texture. Overall, my partner and I wouldn't return again for the food unless we wanted something more new, but we do love how good value Cyclo is.
