Egg Roll Fact: The egg roll is not actually a traditional Chinese dish. It was invented in New York City in the 1930s as a fusion of Chinese and American cuisines. Egg rolls are absolutely delicious, but sadly, like most foods that taste amazing, they're not the healthiest choice to consume on a regular basis. They are usually deep-fried, so they're high in saturated fat and calories. The average egg roll contains between 200 and 250 calories and 10 to 15 grams of fat. That's for one egg roll; stopping at just one can be difficult. Not saying you shouldn't eat them; just be mindful of the fact that they are high in fat, calories, and salt. Consuming them as a treat when you enjoy your favorite Chinese takeout is usually fine in moderation. That said, when you are treating yourself to some egg rolls, this is a great spot to do it. World Tour ($25.00 - All American, El Hefe Birria, Island Jerk, Philly Street, Great Wall, Hanoi Harbor, Little Saigon, OG Lumpia with Nuoc Mam Fish Sauce and Sriracha Mayo): The World Tour is the way to go to try a little bit of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite but I will say, the Island Jerk is not my favorite but that's probably a me thing. It was just a little too strong. That said, their menu is big enough that I can just get something else instead. It's an adventure! One box fed the two of us for THREE meals! Three! Light Layover Combo ($7.00 for two - Shrimp & Pork and Spring Roll and a Tofu Spring Roll with Peanut Hoisin: Excellent spring rolls but watery peanut hoisin. That said, I would absolutely order this again. Spring rolls are amongst my favorite foods ever. Lemon Layover Tea ($3.49 - Medium): An excellent tea. It reminds me of Hong Kong style lemon tea. This is probably going to be my go-to beverage. Saigon Iced Coffee ($5.99 - Medium): Not bad. Not as strong as I prefer my Vietnamese coffee. I'd pass on it if you want that strong robust Vietnamese coffee. Spent a little under $45 before tax for two of us. The owners are super friendly and are truly passionate about what they're doing. It was bite after bite of flavor and crunch. They even make their own sauces. There's a new weekly special so come back often! The week I went, Mexico was the special so good luck getting the El Hefe Birria. It was great.
Checked in and ready for the flight! What a fun concept for a restaurant...just like you are at the airport and sampling foods from different locations. They do a weekly destination menu on top of their regular menu items. Met Lisa and her brother, David, and mom, Judy, who was there working with them. The location is in the old Curry and Scoop space at McClintock and Elliot, close to the Pollack Theatre. Wife asked for the Jet Fuel Punch, with no Sprite but half punch with lemonade to drink and I went with the Island Breeze (think Pina Colada!)...both were freshly made! The Island Breeze had chunks of pineapple and coconut shaves and such a great addition. Lisa helped us navigate through the ordering menus and we landed on the Express Box, which gives you 3 signature stops, 3 core destinations, along with two of their homemade sauces. With all of the amazing choices, it took us a bit to decide on which egg rolls to order so we landed on Island Jerk, Maple Leaf Morning * (in honor of Canada week), Philly Street, Little Saigon, OG Lumpia, and the Veggie Eggroll. We also partook of the free crab angels they are currently offering for their grand opening. Wife and I shared the order, which was perfect for an afternoon snack/meal. We started with the crab angels, an order is three. They were stuffed full with a cream cheese filling, light on the crab but overall extremely wonderful! Used the sweet chili sauce for dipping. Next we tried the Canada one, which we liked...filled with scrambled eggs, sausage and real maple syrup for dipping. It was different but actually good. Moved on to the try the Island Jerk, which we both fell in love with. Yes, with a bit of smokey spice, I cooled it down a bit with their peanut sauce (which is thick and so tasty!) Next was the OG Lumpia, which was what I was craving. Made with ground pork and shrimp (you will have no idea shrimp is in there!) and veggies. Again, tried it in both sauces and either one was a great match for the crispy, juicy filling. Philly Street came next, which is made with steak, onions, peppers, and cheese and guess what? It's like a Philly Cheesesteak but in an eggroll wrapper. It was so good! We ended with the Veggie Eggroll, which we agreed was one of the best of all of them. Again, both sauces we chose were perfect for dipping. Every single roll we had were fresh, flavorful and packed full and fried to perfection. They have definitely mastered the egg roll and Lisa is open to menu suggestions she said. Their weekly specials (Limited Landings) are so unique and honor their namesake...like this week's Canada one with the maple syrup. Next week's U.S.A. special will be brisket so can't wait to try that! We had seen the special on Channel 3 a few weeks ago and that's what led us to come in initially. Happy to see that fellow Yelpers are also visiting! Highly recommend this new business and hope they become a long-term staple in our neighborhood.
Saw a couple TikTok's on this place and had to try it. We got some of the larger variety combos and were so happy with everything included, they were all so crispy but not greasy! It seems to be a family owned spot, and they were truly very welcoming and nice Some of our favorites were surprisingly the more creative fusions rolls such as the American (Cheesey-burger), Little Italy (YUMMM, tasted like a pizza stuffed mozzarella stick but that light crispy egg roll wrap), with Jerk Chicken and Philly cheesesteak coming close contenders. If fusions aren't your thing, the Lumpia and both Vietnamese rolls were absolutely satisfying as well. What a fun and tasty addition to the neighborhood! I was greeted with a friendly "Welcome aboard the Eggroll Xpress" and a big smile from Kai at the front as soon as I walked in the door. The whole theme is about travel, and they really nailed it - from overall decor and travel-related items at the little shop to picking up your food at the Baggage Claim. Very cute and fun! Kai helped me navigate the menu, which includes both traditional rolls like lumpia and fusion types like Philly and cheeseburger. They also have a lot of sauce options, fun drinks, dessert rolls, and loaded fries. There are combos (also in the travel theme) as well. I came for a quick snack so kept it light with an OG Lumpia and a Little Siagon (viet style). I also got a peanut sauce and Nuoc Chom. Everything was delicious! I ended up taking the sauces home, they were that good. Odd note but their water is also really good! Definitely well filtered. This place is so cute and the staff are so fun and friendly. I'll definitely be back for a combo!
Owner was super nice and spring rolls were so good! The mango dipping sauce was nothing I've had before and so so good. I also loved that there was a lot of protein in the spring roll and that they don't skimp out! Definitely stopping by again when I'm in the area!

She's telling us the days' special and how to get more bang for our buck, with the boxes that u can mix and match egg rolls. My interest is piqued Let me give u the rundown. 6 eggrolls for $19. We got the Philly, chicken, pork (2), jerk chicken and the showstopper: JAMBALAYA!!! We also got jerk chicken fries (spicy and delicious, u have been warned!). Fried rice with jerk chicken and shrimp (the shrimp are huge and they are NOT stingy). Last but not least, we had a mango drink with a tajin rim and a sugar free blueberry drink that was just as good as the mango. These folks have no idea, the monster they've created. I'll be back and I'm bringing my ppl.

Had 3 signature rolls (Philly - Great, Tokyo (Flavor of the week - Ramen in an egg roll) - also great, and Island (Jerk Chicken) - not good/very strange flavor w/no hint of "jerk" flavoring). Very reasonable prices, lots of variety, authentic Asian cooks, creative flavors, friendly staff. Wish they had some additional sauces. They forgot my ranch but that happens. Hope this place makes it. It's definitely worth a return trip. Will try garlic fries and spring rolls next time. Be sure to check their website for their rotating flavor (new one each week). Signature rolls are $5 each. Standard rolls are 2 for $5 and are the same size as the signature, so perhaps more value in those.
A unique concept that I have thought about for a long time. They do an excellent job at their specialty. The core roles are excellent and I will be going back to try others. If you're getting more than three, it is best to do one of their combos.
I came in for the eggrolls but WOW the jerk fries are out of this world good. The owner, Lisa, was super friendly and told me all her favorites. They do weekly flavors and change ups so you can't get bored cause there is always something new to try. This place is for sure on our weekly takeout rotation. My friend got the southwest eggroll cause she is a vegetarian and she said it's the best she's ever had.
I saw this business on TikTok. I decided to stop by for lunch. The three items that I got were excellent food was excellent service was excellent place was clean. Prices were reasonable. Definitely will come back..
As someone who's never really been a fan of egg rolls, this place completely changed my mind! Not only do they serve traditional egg rolls, but they also put a unique, modern twist on them that really stands out. The food was incredibly fresh -- so fresh I literally burned my tongue trying to eat it too fast. The staff was also super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. My favorite was the Philly Street egg roll, inspired by a Philly cheesesteak, and it did not disappoint. Overall, I highly recommend this spot, and I'll definitely be coming back for more!
I just popped in to visit Eggroll Xpress and I'm so glad I did! Lisa was able to answer my many questions and I ended up getting an island jerk chicken egg roll. It was so good and took me right back to my trip to the islands earlier this summer! I will be back to try one of the many items that I had my eye on. What a gem in Tempe!

An airport-themed restaurant specializing in creative eggrolls? Consider my curiosity piqued! My aunt and I stopped in for takeout and ordered the World Tour combo: four signature rolls, four core rolls, and two dipping sauces for $25. The menu has an impressive number of combinations and can feel a little overwhelming initially, but the owner was there during our visit and graciously walked us through the options. We sampled several varieties, including the OG Lumpia, Little Saigon, Island Jerk, and their rotating Oktoberfest special. Everything held up beautifully on the trip home, with crisp exteriors and generously flavored fillings. The Oktoberfest, stuffed with bratwurst, sauerkraut, and caramelized onions, was an unexpected favorite. The jerk chicken was another standout! The aviation theme is carried throughout, from the cleverly named combos to the First Class Lounge waiting area. It's playful without feeling gimmicky, and the food absolutely backs up the concept. "This is going to ruin the tour." -- Justin Timberlake No worry, Justin, come to Eggroll Xpress. You can pretend to go through an airport before landing on The World Tour. The World Tour is an excellent way to try a little bit of everything and wow, it was good. There were definitely some flavors that weren't for me but don't let that deter you. AMAZING - MUST TRY! I usually will not post a review unless a place is really great or really terrible. So believe me when I say - This place is absolutely AMAZING! Do your tastebud's a favor and check out this new spot. Great people, great food and really great prices! Not to mention the whole concept is just a really unique experience. I love it! They have so many options when it comes to egg rolls, spring rolls, fries, dessert rolls, refreshments and sauces. I couldn't possibly list them all. So I've added pictures of the menu! They also have crab angels (crab rangoon bites) and wonton tacos. Some of MY personal favorites are the Birria Egg roll (limited time only) - get it while you can! Hanoi Harbor, Little Saigon, Philly Street, the Island Jerk fries, Banana Nutella and the Biscoff Cheesecake! I absolutely love the little flags so you know which one you're trying. I can't wait to go back and try out more items on the menu. Including their weekly destination spots! What a fantastic way to bring even more international flavors to AZ. This hidden gem in Tempe is family owned and operated. The owners David, Lisa and Judy are all family and genuinely nice people. Not only was the food too good but the decor was so cute!!! It made you feel like you were waiting in a first class lounge! They also had a plant-based menu which I absolutely loved! Front the plant-based menu I got the Tofu Wonton Tacos, Garlic Fries, Southwest Sizzle and Tofu Spring Rolls. They also included 3 free (Dairy) Crab Angels if you followed them. Unsure if they are still doing this as I went in their grand opening. read more
