Came in Saturday night but at the time it was pretty empty, just my boyfriend and I , and 2 other customers. However, we waited 1 hr since we came in and we only had 1 order of the chicken (15 pieces), so the wait was veryyyy long for that small quantity. However, once the food came out - it was very good! We got the Combo Medium size with drumstick & wings - Spicy and Soy garlic, with radish as the side. The chicken overall was steaming hot, which I love. The skin outside was very crispy, which is why I love Bonchon for and that's what makes Bonchon stand out from other places. This place has been on my radar for a while. So while we were in the area we decided to try it. I was so excited to try it. We were quickly seated and things started to look a little off. For one, a worker was at one of the tables looking like a nurse with gloves and other restaurant bags of food at the table. She was helping an older woman eat and care for her. Anyway, on to the food. We ordered the chicken, 2 different flavors. We also started with the bulgogi fries and bao buns. The fries looked weird when it came. The cheese wasn't melted like we had thought but maybe that's just how it's served? The flavor was ok but not something I'd ever order again. The bao buns were also just ok. The meat to bun ratio is off. Please add more meat so we're getting more of the flavors rather than just the bun. Also, it was a little wet and mushy. The chicken is where it's at. Great flavor and you can't go wrong. If we stuck with just the chicken, this would've been a five star review. Waited almost 20 min and left. Wasn't very busy to be waiting that long and there's no AC just fan running. 110 degree weather plus hot food not a good combo to not have AC running. Came into Bonchon, right near our house for a quick dinner at the bar. I had the tofu, fried, Bibimbap and my husband had the five drumsticks. With a couple of beers to wash it down. Great food! I asked for one additional sauce for my dish as it was a little light on seasoning. I should've only used half of the next one. It became very spicy with two. So just be warned. If you like your dishes, very spicy ask for two sauces, if you can finish it. All in all great dish, great service. Come out and enjoy some Korean food. read more

JOSH is the man!!! He was awesome from start to end. We walked in for lunch, and we were seated right away. I was excited to find this Bonchon location in Tempe, which is about 8 minutes from the Lexus dealership in Chandler. After some negotiations at the dealership, of course we got hangered. Thanks to my trusty Yelp app for steering us in the right direction! We got 2 Combo Lunch Specials, which come with 8 wings. We chose Soy Garlic and Korean BBQ for the sauces. For our sides, we got the Pickled Radish (because it's a sin NOT to, lol!) and the Seasoned Fries, which is an extra $2, but worth it! The Japchae was a must-have, so we ordered one to eat and another to-go for later. In comparison to other locations, it was a little greasy, but overall, had that signature Bonchon flavor. Everything was delicious! The chicken was really crispy on the outside and cooked thoroughly on the inside. No pink middles here! I always have to get the radish because it complements the chicken so well, especially the KBBQ since it had a slight kick to it. I asked Josh for extra, and he came through! I appreciate that awesome service! We were glad to have come at the right time. It was a Tuesday and not busy at all for lunch. The restaurant is clean and bright. There's a parking lot right outside, and the prices are competitive. My cousin brought dinner and I had never heard of this place so I was intrigued when she walked through the door with it. She got fried rice and soy Ginger wings. I have been here a 5 times, and twice, they forgot to put my order in, so we had to wait even longer for our order. My last visit, the General Manager stopped by to tell us that our order wasn't placed, and she apologized and offered a free drink while we waited. I had the garlic and soy sauce version (there are three versions) and it came with a special cole slaw on top and a wonderful sauce and side of excellent fries. Bonchon is a Korean / Asian Fusion restaurant offering a variety of dishes. It's a sit down restaurant, but it was obvious they do a ton of take out, as well. The place runs like a well- oiled machine. The Hostess was at the ready to seat Guests. The Server arrived soon after. When he wasn't available, someone else was there as a backup. I couldn't ask for friendlier or faster service (more later). The Shrimp Shumai appetizer / starter was just ok. You can order it steamed or fried. Since I've never had them fried before, I thought this was a good opportunity to explore. It came with eight pieces, though each piece was smaller than what I've had at competitor restaurants. The exterior seemed a bit overcooked. That's my impression, given I've never had a fried version before. The interior had the consistency of mashed potatoes; something I didn't expect. There was no discernible shrimp flavor. It was served with a side of honey mustard (or similar tasting) sauce for dipping. I was able to scratch the fried Shumai itch, but I doubt I'd order it again. For the main course, the Signature Fried Chicken was especially good. The Small Combo comes with 6 wings and 3 drums. What I expected was 3 wing flats and 3 wing drums. But! ... it actually included 3 wing flats, 3 wing drums and 3 full size drumsticks. Yup, that's nine pieces total and the "Small" is plenty large for sharing. Better yet, they were tasty! All pieces were meaty and juicy with a light, crispy batter. I ordered mine with the Soy Garlic sauce which had just enough flavor without being overpowering. You can get spicy sauce or split the sauces if you prefer. Signature Chicken dishes come with a complimentary side of pickled radish or coleslaw. My coleslaw was cool and crisp; not dripping in mayo (or buttermilk) which can make it soggy. As mentioned, the service was fast. So fast that after a quick trip to the restroom, the table had been cleared, along with my carry out container for leftovers. Fortunately, it was set aside at the bar and not tossed. If too fast service is my biggest complaint, I'd say it's a good problem to have. read more

Unfortunately, your inept front of house staff ruined an otherwise heavenly blissful gastronomic experience. The waters unfortunately took 15+ minutes to come out and the check even longer after they had cleared our table. We actually had to go to the register and ask for the check, since it seemed we were forsaken. Our fellow tables within the restaurant were left confused and dismayed at how long the service was taking. Definitely bad vibes all around! I have come here 5 times now, and each time I've received such varying service. Unfortunately my last two visits have been unpleasant. Both times, I've placed an online order ahead of time and pre-paid, hoping to just walk in and pick it up. This most recent time, I was waiting for 30 minutes after my pick up time. And when my order was ready, the older woman there said "check your order because I don't want you calling me telling me that it's wrong." If you're going to offer order ahead services, then you should respect the time that you said it'd be done. And if it's not, you should at least offer your customers a glass of water or a free service item. Before I left, I said, and I quote "I was a bit disappointed with the wait time" -- and I was dismissed with "well it's a Saturday night every place is like this" and other KFC locations take longer. When I got home, I also noticed that the portions were much smaller than usual. And that really was the cherry on top. It is unacceptable that orders aren't completed on time, workers are rude, AND then you dismiss real feedback. This used to be my favorite KFC (Korean fried chicken) until the last 2 lunch visits and 1 dinner visit. Service has changed (did they change ownership?) and price and selection was unreasonable. While I understand inflation and cost has gone up (which is ok and not the main issue), but the price of side dish and selection (used to have French fries upcharge of $1, rice is one of the side, now you have ti pay full price $3.99 for side of rice). The fried rice we got was just okay. It was kind of mushy and didn't have a ton of flavor, we also got rice as a side with our chicken which was the wrong move.
