I see Flippin' Rice once a month. I order one thing item, the Yang Chow Fried Rice. I get the order, I eat voraciously and I fill my stomach. It's probably the best Food Truck Fried Rice out there. Yes, they use Chinese sausage instead of BBQ pork on their fried rice, but that just adds to its flavor. Chicken, corn and green beans amongst other ingredients in the fried rice. It's done wok fresh and you can taste the wok flavor in the fried rice. It's very well done. Also the quantity is large so the fried rice can last a lunch and a breakfast. We went to a festival where Flippin' Rice was parked. We got the Flipping Teriyaki Chicken, Crispy Adobo Fried Rice, and Lumpia. The Lumpia was definitely my favorite dish we ordered. It was perfectly crispy but not burnt. The picture on the menu made it seem like there was a lot more vegetables in teriyaki chicken dish. There were only 3 or 4 green beans however the chicken and the sauce was really good. As for the fried rice I wasn't a big fan of the meat that was in the rice but overall a tasty dish. read more

What an AMAZING food truck! SO flavorful & fast, too! I had the honor of trying their food last night when they came to my campus. My friend and I shared a teriyaki chicken box and a orange chicken box. Both of these were downright delicious - Way better than anything I've had at chains like Panda. The teriyaki chicken box was bursting with flavor, as was the orange. I really, really enjoyed both of these and it is hard for me to pick a favorite- But, I have to say the orange was my favorite because the texture on it was great! Order it and find out what I mean! The truck came to Cadence in Mesa on a Thursday night and so damn happy we tried. We ordered in advance for a pre-set pickup time. The bulgogi beef and the flippin teriyaki chicken were both excellent and a good sized portion with the rice. We added a lumpia (pork and shrimp) for $1. The lumpia was crisp and not greasy and excellent flavor. Loved the bulgogi beef flavor - the kimchi was crisp and perfectly spiced and the egg was a good addition. The jalapeños were crisp and fresh also. I held the cilantro. The chicken was also great - lots of meat and perfectly done veggies. Order was ready about 10 minutes before the assigned time so glad we got there early. We understand that sometimes they sell out or you have to select a much later time. I tried Flippin' Rice for the first time when they stopped by the Mayo Hospital in North Phoenix/Scottsdale. They were the only truck there and there was a line of people but that didn't stop me from getting a meal! I'm glad I stayed cause it was delicious. Being Filipino, I try and go out of my way to support local restaurants and food trucks that offer Filipino food or some kind of fusion. They either bring me back or take me forward! I think FR was more of taking me forward into what Filipino flavors and traditional items can be remixed. Hopefully they come back around so I can try their other dishes! read more

I was so excited to try this place out when I heard they were coming by our business complex today. Asian cuisine is my most favorite of all the cuisines and my tummy immediately started to growl as I was perusing their menu online. My co-worker/food truck buddy and I made our way over shortly after they arrived. I ended up ordering the pork katsu yakisoba and it was simply amazing. This was also the fastest food truck in terms of service. Co-worker and I had our orders in just over 5 minutes. I wasn't expecting the bonito flakes sprinkled over the pork katsu as it wasn't included in the menu description. I don't like fishy tasting stuff at all and had I known prior, I would've requested to have it left off. I managed to finish everything nonetheless. The pork katsu was perfectly fried and tender. The yakisoba noodles and veggies were nicely wok-fried but on the greasy side. This lunch definitely satisfied my longing for something fried and left me very full. I know I've been saying this with the other food trucks that have come by but out of all of them, I really hope this one come back! read more

We were excited to try this truck in our Marley Park neighbored as we LOVE Vietnamese. The Yelp reviews are really great but we thought it was just ok. We compare all Asian food here to Seattle. Really hard not to. ‍ I placed my order online but had to let them know the order had been placed after we arrived. It was ready in about 15 minutes despite this. We ordered the orange chicken with rice and pork Katsu with noodles & lumpia. I'm glad I read reviews prior to ordering cause I didn't want fish flavor sprinkled on my pork Katsu. I emailed the truck but the message wasn't recurved. Glad we arrived early to prevent an issue. The amount of food you get for $10 is plentiful but overall, the dishes lacked flavor. The lumpia are small but packed full of meat, somehow still without much flavor. The dipping sauce was the best part, sweet & spicy. They were friendly, fresh & fast. read more

Perfect street food from this food truck! I always order here whenever I come across this truck. And I always get the adobo fried rice- because its sooo FLIPPIN good. This is not your average fried rice though....it has a touch of gourmet dining and it's delicious! The adobo fried roce contains pieces of crispy pork belly- which I love! Also I appreciate the kale to add a layer of flavor and texture mixed with the carrot and egg that's added in. The flavors of the green onion and fish sauce work so well together to give it a contrast of salty, tangy, sour, and bitterness. It makes my mouth water. On top is sprinkled with pork rinds to give it an extra crunch. And It usually comes with pea sprouts on top too which I love because it brightens the dish and freshen up from the heaviness of the fat and oil. But this time it it didn't have the sprouts. This time around i was a little underwhelmed. Something about the rice today was lacking. It just didn't taste as fresh so I had to rate it down a star. Otherwise this is usually on point! read more

I have been wanting to try Flippin' Rice for some time now and was finally able to. We went to the Food Truck Caravan a little while ago and enjoyed three items from Flippin' Rice. My sister-in-law ordered fried rice with pork belly. The pork belly was super crisp and tasty. She really enjoyed the fried rice and I would definitely give it a try. I ordered both the adobo pao and the bulgogi pao to share with my husband. The adobo pao is crisp pork belly and the bulgogi pao is steak. Hands down, we both preferred the bulgogi poa. The steak itself was extremely tender and super tasty. The pork belly was good but the overall flavor just didn't compare to the steak. Both came with rice chips which were okay but completely unnecessary. While the pao was really delicious, I thought it was pretty pricey for just two buns and some rice chips. The fried rice was much more reasonably priced and a lot more food. I'd definitely come back and try a few more items. read more

First of all let me say this was 1 of only 4 trucks at a food truck event in Goodyear (9.23.21). So the lines were long everywhere. I chose to wait for them because I really wanted from their menu and unlike some of other trucks, they were not sold out of anything. I purchased 2 bulgolgi beef with lumpia and 1 orange chicken. Prices were as expected but the quality, service & best of all the food, the price is well worth it. There was only 2 of them working and they didn't let the number of tickets nor length of the line deter them from rocking every single meal to order. Wow what a top notch food truck! When I think food trucks, I'm usually not expecting the best quality of food. This place is different! Came here for our offices' food truck event. The menu has about 6 or 7 rice dishes. The one that looked the best to me was the beef bolgogi. The beef was expertly cooked on a bed of rice with an egg, some kimchi, and parsley. I opted to add the Filipino lumpia's as well. It was a good side but nothing too exciting there for me personally. For only a dollar though, you mine as well try one. The portions could have been slightly larger for the price in my opinion, but that would be my only piece of advice. All in all, this place is very tasty and has a quality factor that is generally lost on most food truck places I've been too. Will definitely be back to this truck again! read more

All rice and no meat. The taste was good but it was just rice. The ride was plain and didn't have a lot in it. Overpriced for what you get.

5 star dining from a truck! Attended the 22nd Asian Festival in Scottsdale this morning and found multiple food trucks and white food tents to dine from. I chose Flippin Rice, first impressed with their huge black truck and their colorful menu. I ordered #7 which consisted of 4 shrimp and pork lumpia with white rice, dipping sauce, and shredded salad and I added an extra (only $1 each) two lumpia to it, spent only nine bucks. Wonderful flavor and visual presentation made you want to eat more than you could! I will look them up in Gilbert one of these days. read more
