Pretty good overall. The teriyaki sauce was one of my favorite parts because it wasn't overly sweet, and both the chicken and beef were good. I also really liked the Spam musubi. It had a good balance of rice and Spam and I'd definitely order it again. A couple things kept it from being 5 stars. I asked for rice only, but they still gave me mac salad and vegetables, which was a little annoying. I also wasn't a big fan of the mac salad. The plate looks huge at first, but I'd guess there was around a pound and a half of warm lettuce underneath the meat, so it isn't quite as much food as it seems. It also would've been nice if the chicken came pre-cut since it was a little inconvenient having to cut it myself. Even with that, the portions are still solid and I'd say it stacks up pretty well with Hawaiian Bros. It's definitely a different style, but I'd come back. read more

There's plenty of seating inside as well. The place was clean and the staff were great! You order at the counter and take a seat...they bring your food to your table when ready. I went with the Fire Chicken and loved it! Perfect char on the chicken and the fire sauce had amazing flavor. Their Mac Salad is great as well. The portions are HUGE....I was stuffed! One of the best Hawaiian spots in the East Valley. I ordered the BBQ and Katsu special which came with Mac salad and rice. You have the option of adding more or less veggies, rice or Mac salad. Ordering was very easy as you get the option of ordering in person or at the kiosk. I'd say I waited about 5-10 min for two orders. The chicken katsu had the perfect crispness, not dry at all. The BBQ was my favorite, can't go wrong. They are generous with the amount per plate, which definitely worth the price. This is my favorite Hawaiian spot in all of arizona! I wasn't really a fan of Hawaiin food prior because I think I tried some mid food back in my area, but this place is so amazing. There is a kiosk where you can order. I always get their bbq and katsu special for $14.99. I am able to get two meals out of it because they always stack their plates. The bbq and katsu special includes bbq chicken, katsu, and beef. All three of them are so good, but my absolute favorite is the katsu. They make it so crispy and delicious paired with their katsu sauce. Our food is always ready within 10 minutes. There are a lot of tables inside, but I like to eat outside in their patio area. We come here often and love the food, but the last time we came in the girl with the thick eyelashes was very rude. She stared at us while we looked at the menu and didn't say anything. Then, when we went up to order she didn't acknowledge us and walked back forth between the register and the back multiple times. Then when she had time for us she just stared again and we gave our order. I don't know if it's her first job or what but she could definitely stand to be more welcoming to customers. Hmmmm I ordered the bbq mixed plate and while I got a decent amount of food the bbq need is not really edible, so grisly that I was only able to actually eat a few pieces, the chicken was decent but the kalbi same , not tender and too grisly for me! My concerns and sympathy goes out to all of those affected by the fires. I had a weekend with Maui on my mind. I volunteered with a group to raise money for the Maui Fire & Disaster Fund with Maui United Way on Saturday. When I saw this place the next day, I took it as a sign. There is no such thing as a coincidence. Maui Hawaiian Grill served up some decent eats. The guy at the register was really nice and I enjoyed my Kalua Pork with Cabbage. I got my usual of all macaroni salad and no rice because I like to give my doctor something to worry about. ;D The kalua pork was a tad on the drier side but the mac salad was good. Just add some black pepper and keu a ka 'ono! I spent $16-something for my plate (including a $3 drink). Money well spent. Spending some time in Arizona and we were in the mood for some Hawaiian food. We pulled up our trusty Yelp and found Maui Hawaiian Grill. We called in our order and the employee was friendly. We arrived at Maui Hawaiian Grill in the Mill Pointe Center strip mall and needed to add another plate to our order. Inside was nice and big, with tables and looked very clean. It was busy inside and we let the cashier know we had to add another plate to our call in order, and let him know we were willing to wait for it. To our surprise, they called our number for pick up and let us know they rushed ordered our extra plate and there was no additional wait. Amazing customer service!! We made sure to tip him well. Got back and opened up our food. We ordered the Kalua pig combo with Bbq chicken $11.99, the chicken katsu plate $10.99 and the BBQ and katsu mix plate $12.99. What a hidden gem! You know it's a good place when there are tons of people inside when you walk in. Was greeted immediately, and their electronic menu was really easy to follow. I wish they had more pictures of their dishes so we could really see what combinations we would get. Ordered the katsu and bbq combination and let me tell you, they were huge! Almost threw my back out having to pick up such a heavy order. Ha! You won't leave hungry, almost like you're dining at your parents' house. Beef was super soft and full of flavor, and their katsu had a good crisp but wished they had more vs. the grilled chicken and beef were portioned more (no complaints as all were delicious). Their macaroni was bomb, and rice was cooked perfectly. As far as the sauces, they could use some work here as they don't have much flavor nor add to the proteins. Inside was pretty standard, nothing special with their decor, but that's how you know the food is going to be legit. One order is enough for two meals... unless you're ready to eat big.
