Wanted to try a new place and BBQ sounded good. Lucille's looked like it had some character. I saw the mixed reviews and needed to form my own opinion. There's lot of character to this place, I liked that. The service was excellent! Definitely got points for that! The food was ok at best and the portions vs the price was waaaay off, it was comical. On a scale of 1 to 10, while the staff are amazing and extremely knowledgeable and friendly, there's much better options out there. I won't be back again.

Overall decent experience. Service was quick and attentive. The fried okra should probably be skipped but the fried chicken and mashed potatoes were very good.

If you're looking for some comfort bbq, this is the spot! Lots of seating, our waiter was great. Food was good, my favorite was the non alcoholic drinks, so yum. We got the queso appetizer, they've got good entree deals (I got the southern country chicken and my boyfriend got two meats and two sides) and got a banana pudding for dessert.

#1 best thing about this evening was our server Grace. She epitomized her name as we fumbled through the menu and changed our minds several times! Great music playing at a bearable level. Nice country feel all around.

Stopped in for a date night! My husband and I did the 3 course feast for two for $60 and it was the perfect amount of food! You got your choice of 3 meats (we did ribs, bbq half chicken, tri tip), 2 sides, An appetizer or two salads, biscuits with apple butter, and a dessert! I am not a huge BBQ lover so i mostly at the chicken, and it was the perfect balance of sweetness and smoky flavor. The biscuits with the apple butter were the star of the show for me!! Service was friendly and prompt, we were in and out in under an hour-- took our dessert to go to enjoy at home later.

I really liked how this place was a little bit away from the crowds at Tempe marketplace. There was parking right in front and they even let us bring our dog to sit in the indoor patio. There was a Wednesday special, whiskey drinks for $7 and their cocktails tasted delicious. I had my first whiskey smash and I'm obsessed. For my meal, I had hot honey salmon and rice and street corn. Gluten free friendly eats !

My friends and I had Happy Hour/ Lunch here for 14 people. We made reservations and were seated in a back area it was perfect for us the set up, the room and our server was amazing taking great care of us all. We all enjoyed everything we had and will be back! The cracked out deviled eggs and the Okra were so delish I didn't need anything else and the pork belly burnt ends were fantastic!

Came for a private birthday party last Saturday. Everyone was very welcoming with the exception of our server. I think she was either a little bit tired or did not want to work a private party. The food was very good with the exception of the ribs. They just tasted very strong of pork and just not good quality like you normally do. The rest of the staff was very helpful and kind

It's been several years since we were last here. Some things haven't changed - the place is still busy and still smells heavenly. I was in the mood for southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. The veggies were fresh and I love mashed potatoes that still have some texture to them. Yum. I was surprised that they were boneless cutlets - still very good - I guess I assumed I would be getting pieces. The Hubbs was a little disappointed with the beef ribs - they were not very meaty. Everyone on our group was fond of their baked beans. The others had the St Louis ribs which looked fabulous. Our server was a little slow and we would have to remind him about requests. Overall a nice guy and helpful.

Tough, dry baby back ribs, running beans & running coleslaw. Looks so much better than it was.

Hubby & I had dinner here last night. We arrived at 5:20. We were greeted & seated right away. It's like going to your grandma, but when you get inside it's like being taken back in time. There is several old signs from back in the day and old hub caps. It took our server a few minutes to come to the table, but not too bad. We offered waters. Hubby ordered the michelada & I had the southern sangria. Hubby liked the michelada in the beginning, but there was so much ice that it got watered down so he only drank half of it. I didn't like my drink. All I could taste was the Jim Beam Black Bourbon. It took a long time to get our drinks. They didn't arrive until right before our meals. Hubby got the 2 meat plate with baby back ribs, pulled pork, beans & coleslaw. I got the 1/3 rack baby back ribs, Mac n cheese & corn pudding. The baby back ribs were tough & dry, no smoke ring & no taste of being smoked. The sauces on the table were all watered down. The beans were running, as well as the coleslaw. I didn't like the Mac n cheese. The noodles were too done & the cheese sauce tasted like cheese whiz. The biscuits were ok, but too crunchy on the outside and dry on the inside. The corn pudding was good. It's just like the sweet corn cake you used to get at Chi Chi's. We will not be back. At over $90 for 2 drinks & 2 plates, nothing good but 1 side, & no need to take leftovers, totally not worth it. While leaving we realized there was no smell of smokers.

I hate doing this, but I have to update my review from 4 stars to 2 stars. My boyfriend and I haven't been to Lucille's in years and decided to try it out on a Monday night before a concert in Tempe. It was awful. I'm giving 2 stars because the service was good and our waiter was attentive. My boyfriend and I split the $60 meal for two and ordered each a drink. It was AWFUL. Everything we ate tasted like it was leftover from the weekend. The brisket? Pitiful and dried out. The bbq chicken, smothered in sauce so sweet it was inedible. The jalapeno/cheddar sausage, so greasy it slid around the plate. The fries, barely cooked. The Mac n cheese tasted like it was 2 days old. Even the banana pudding (one of my favorite desserts) wasn't very good. It didn't have that great banana cream and Nilla wafer texture like it should have. I am so bummed to write this, but this was an awful meal. They also sat my boyfriend and I in the far back corner in the hottest part of the restaurant and then a family of 8 right next to us with an entire restaurant that was open. It was an odd choice and didn't help the dining experience. Bummer Lucille's!

I love Lucille's but the one near me in the Bay area closed down so I was excited to stop here. Unfortunately, I think this might be the reason they are going out of business. My photo shows over $40 worth of food and most of it was standard but I will say that the brisket queso was delicious. I love their fried green tomatoes but opted for something different this time. Still, even if I lived in the area, I would not come regularly because the cost is a bit high. That being said, I would still come occasionally for the more unique and flavorful dishes.

Crazy small potion for the 37 dollar two meat combo. This place sucks. The service was ok but the food has gone way down hill.

It tasted slightly sweet with something else I can't place my finger on. French Toast with the grand mariner sauce- yes please and thank you! I did not taste the sauce, but the French toast tasted good. I had some egg whites and the chicken tenders with it. Not a fan of chicken tenders, but there's no substituting, so tenders it is. Mocktail with lemonade and ginger- I don't remember the name but that was quite refreshing. I would've opted for more ginger b/c I like it spicy , and it got the job done. My other homies had shrimp and grits, salmon croquettes. They enjoyed it. Shout out to our waiter Chance . Quite pleasant and had a great aura. He recommended some spots for us to see/explore and didn't rush us. I'd definitely return should I visit AZ again!

You can tell he actually cares about the dining experience and keeps up with his tables really well. Service alone was a 10 out of 10. Before coming in, we saw reviews complaining about a 20 minute wait for the food, but honestly that did not bother us because they let us know right away that the chicken is made fresh and would take around 15 minutes. If you know good fried chicken, you already know fresh chicken is worth the wait. I would rather wait a little longer for crispy, hot chicken than get something sitting under a heat lamp. And let me tell you, the chicken came out exactly how fried chicken should be. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, piping hot, and perfectly seasoned. The crunch had that fresh fry texture where you can actually hear it when you bite into it. For sides, I got the okra and mac and cheese. It was my first time trying fried okra and now I completely understand the hype. The seasoning on it was insanely good, especially paired with the Louisiana hot sauce. Definitely ask for the yellow peppers too because they add this juicy little pop of heat and crunch that takes the chicken to another level.
