    XXL Combo plate
    Jocelyn Z.

Great vegan soul food option if you're looking for comfort food without all of the animal products or unhealthy ingredients. It's guilt free eating, for sure. The person managing the front end was very friendly. The on screen menu was clear with color photos and easy to read. Technology was at the forefront with a large screen kiosk and easy payment processing. After choosing our own seating, the food arrived hot and the presentation was great. Every texture and spice was noted. Highly recommend the XXL Combo which gives an official tour of the tastes and offerings. The dining area was clean and simple. There were some minor cosmetic items that needed attention. But nothing took away from the overall dining experience. Great place to eat in or order out.

Delicious food and friendly owners/staff!! A good local place to support. We need more vegan restaurants in this world! Even if you aren't veg you'll like it.

Crispy chickn handheld with fries & side of Mac n cheese
    Cecilia L.

Finally got to check this spot out on Saturday as I start going to restaurants for #PHXVRW I ordered the crispy chicken handheld and a side of Mac N cheez. The bun was soft and "buttery" and the breading was nice and crisp while the chicken was soft & moist. I am not good at tolerating spice of any kind, even pepper, so I couldn't do the cabbage and sauce on the bun (scraped it off), but the residual flavor was poppin and I still enjoyed the whole sandwich. Because I took the order to go, the steam/moisture from the container made the fries a little soggy, but I revived them in the air fryer and they were scrumptious. Packed with flavor and the perfect compliment to the sandwich. I have missed eating Mac n' Cheese, and this order absolutely hit the spot. It was super creamy and rich for vegan cheese, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Can't wait to come back for their desserts!!

The service was good! The bathroom smelled disgusting, thankfully I just had to wash my hands but so gross! Let's get to the food! Mostly everything was just too sweet to me! The beans were too sweet, the collard greens too sweet, Mac and cheese had no flavor and the noodles were over cooked. The ribs again, the sauce on them. Too sweet. The fried chicken and food rolls were the best things! I wanted to try the twisted corn on the cob, but they didn't have any! The starry soft drink was disgusting I took 1 sip and didn't drink anymore. Needless to say I will not be back! The best vegan soul food I've ever had in my life and thank goodness to TikTok for sharing this recommendation. The Nanas Soul comes with Plant Based Ribs, Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese and Bussin Baked Beans. When I visited though, the baked beans weren't available so I got an extra side of Mac & Cheese which was delicious. Super flavorful and delicious! Super excited to try more in the future.

Initially I had saved BYOV as a vegan restaurant to try, and drove to this location to find out that it was permanently closed. At first I was disappointed as I eat vegetarian, and love trying new plant-based locations. I began searching my other saved locations, but decided to check out Nana's Kitchen to see what replaced the former BYOV. When I went to Yelp/Google, I was thrilled a vegan place replaced a vegan place. What are the odds! I do have a peanut and almond allergy, so vegan places can be a little tricky to navigate. Wish their website listed better for food allergies as I felt it would inconvenience to ask. I went with what I thought would be safe, and loved their featured menu item. Next time I visit (yes, it's that good for me to drive to Chandler), I will definitely go during an off time to inquire more about the website or may write the restaurant in advance as the soul food plate is calling my name for sure! Great locally owned location that I would suggest any one try, even if they don't eat plant-based as the food was delicious!

Nana's XL and twisted corn. Not pictured peach cobbler...equally delicious.

This place was fantastic! I'm vegan, but my friend that joined me is not. I've taken her to several vegan places in the few years we've been friends and she said this was her favorite, hands down! She also said it was the best vegan Mac and cheese she's ever had. We will be back! My son loves fried pickles, so I need to bring him here to try them.

My favorite thing I tried here were the lemon pepper wings!! Loved the flavor and the slight crispness of the wings. The collard greens and ribs came in at a close second.

I really wish it were easier to find breakfast joints with organic coffee but it can be a bit difficult to find in certain areas, such as the east valley area. This was one of a couple options I could find. We attempted to dine here for dinner on a previous occasion but it was a long wait at that time so we went elsewhere. This time we showed up around 10:15am on a Saturday in June, and we were quoted 90 minutes for two people. Fortunately there was room at the bar, so we were seated immediately. The decor is very clean and subtlety higher end. It is an open floor plan with the bar towards the front door, which is also accessible from the large patio (in cooler weather times) that has mister fans and a lot of shade. They have one of the nicest and cleanest restrooms in the valley, with complementary sea salt scrub and high end paper napkins. They also have a couple luxurious event spaces, one of which was hosting an engagement party. My mom tried a non alcoholic drink special with decaffeinated tea and fresh juices, with a little flower on top. She also tried the avocado toast. She enjoyed both but she said the avocado toast was a little spicy, albeit she has an extremely low tolerance for spice. I opted for the breakfast sandwich and black coffee. The coffee came in a neat mug with an oversized handle that was very ergonomic. It was good, but slightly watery. Was at least comforting to know it wasn't laced with tons of pesticides like most restaurants' coffee. The egg, bacon and avocado sandwich was delicious. The egg and bacon were cooked perfectly, and the bread was nice and soft but not too dry. The greens on the side were fresh with a nice vinaigrette. The service was excellent, all of the staff were friendly and seemed to be happy to be there. All in all I was impressed with this place. The only thing I wish they had on their brunch menu was an omelette, because this is first place I have been in a very long time that isn't a fine dining establishment, where they actually know how to cook eggs properly. They were fluffy, moist, and light. I don't bring this up as a brag, but I attended culinary school and learned proper scrambled egg (French style) technique years ago. This is the first place I've been in a long time that gives my eggs a run for their money.

Then, on the second night I was in Chandler, we went back for a catered event in the back room of SanTan Brewing Company. It turns out I didn't miss out at all! I have to be honest: I'm not a beer drinker, so I didn't know what to expect from the experience, other than that my friends had been there two nights prior. But upon our arrival, we were immediately escorted past the many tables and the bar to an enclosed back room with tables set up for us, a buffet line, and a private bar. We had our own serving staff and bartender, and after a quick welcome, we were encouraged to go up and place our drink orders. I chose to stick with non-alcoholic drinks, though everyone who ordered drinks (mostly beer) left happy with their selections. Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. The ingredients are: griddled Sweet Potatoes, roasted Mushrooms, caramelized Onions, Brussels Sprouts, Quinoa, Avocado slices with a Tamari glaze. It was also topped with Cilantro & Green Onions. I also ordered an Iced Tea. The California Burger Bowl was soooo delicious with such a flavor bomb of textures, sweetness & caramelized, smokey flavors! The crunchiness from the cold greens, warm Brussels Sprouts, soft & sweet Caramelized Onions & Sweet Potatoes, plus the creaminess of the Avocados was such a great medley!
