    XXL Combo plate
    Jocelyn Z.

Great vegan soul food option if you're looking for comfort food without all of the animal products or unhealthy ingredients. It's guilt free eating, for sure. The person managing the front end was very friendly. The on screen menu was clear with color photos and easy to read. Technology was at the forefront with a large screen kiosk and easy payment processing. After choosing our own seating, the food arrived hot and the presentation was great. Every texture and spice was noted. Highly recommend the XXL Combo which gives an official tour of the tastes and offerings. The dining area was clean and simple. There were some minor cosmetic items that needed attention. But nothing took away from the overall dining experience. Great place to eat in or order out.

Delicious food and friendly owners/staff!! A good local place to support. We need more vegan restaurants in this world! Even if you aren't veg you'll like it.

Crispy chickn handheld with fries & side of Mac n cheese
    Cecilia L.

Finally got to check this spot out on Saturday as I start going to restaurants for #PHXVRW I ordered the crispy chicken handheld and a side of Mac N cheez. The bun was soft and "buttery" and the breading was nice and crisp while the chicken was soft & moist. I am not good at tolerating spice of any kind, even pepper, so I couldn't do the cabbage and sauce on the bun (scraped it off), but the residual flavor was poppin and I still enjoyed the whole sandwich. Because I took the order to go, the steam/moisture from the container made the fries a little soggy, but I revived them in the air fryer and they were scrumptious. Packed with flavor and the perfect compliment to the sandwich. I have missed eating Mac n' Cheese, and this order absolutely hit the spot. It was super creamy and rich for vegan cheese, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. Can't wait to come back for their desserts!!

The service was good! The bathroom smelled disgusting, thankfully I just had to wash my hands but so gross! Let's get to the food! Mostly everything was just too sweet to me! The beans were too sweet, the collard greens too sweet, Mac and cheese had no flavor and the noodles were over cooked. The ribs again, the sauce on them. Too sweet. The fried chicken and food rolls were the best things! I wanted to try the twisted corn on the cob, but they didn't have any! The starry soft drink was disgusting I took 1 sip and didn't drink anymore. Needless to say I will not be back! The best vegan soul food I've ever had in my life and thank goodness to TikTok for sharing this recommendation. The Nanas Soul comes with Plant Based Ribs, Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese and Bussin Baked Beans. When I visited though, the baked beans weren't available so I got an extra side of Mac & Cheese which was delicious. Super flavorful and delicious! Super excited to try more in the future.

Initially I had saved BYOV as a vegan restaurant to try, and drove to this location to find out that it was permanently closed. At first I was disappointed as I eat vegetarian, and love trying new plant-based locations. I began searching my other saved locations, but decided to check out Nana's Kitchen to see what replaced the former BYOV. When I went to Yelp/Google, I was thrilled a vegan place replaced a vegan place. What are the odds! I do have a peanut and almond allergy, so vegan places can be a little tricky to navigate. Wish their website listed better for food allergies as I felt it would inconvenience to ask. I went with what I thought would be safe, and loved their featured menu item. Next time I visit (yes, it's that good for me to drive to Chandler), I will definitely go during an off time to inquire more about the website or may write the restaurant in advance as the soul food plate is calling my name for sure! Great locally owned location that I would suggest any one try, even if they don't eat plant-based as the food was delicious!

Nana's XL and twisted corn. Not pictured peach cobbler...equally delicious.

This place was fantastic! I'm vegan, but my friend that joined me is not. I've taken her to several vegan places in the few years we've been friends and she said this was her favorite, hands down! She also said it was the best vegan Mac and cheese she's ever had. We will be back! My son loves fried pickles, so I need to bring him here to try them.

My favorite thing I tried here were the lemon pepper wings!! Loved the flavor and the slight crispness of the wings. The collard greens and ribs came in at a close second.

We had a reservation for seven and they had a table waiting for us. It was a very, very busy evening, better server was right there taking our order and giving us updates. I absolutely love Cajun food, and I have really enjoyed everything I've ever eaten here. We got kind of a variety of items from the menu, starting with the amazing hush puppies. I just love the horseradish sauce that it served with! The evening went smoothly with good food and good service. They also have always had live blues music when we've gone, which I really like. There are other seafood places that call themselves cajun, but Baby Kay's is not a seafood restaurant that's Cajun, it's more of a Cajun restaurant that has seafood. If you come here on a Friday or saturday, I really advise a reservation, which can be made by calling the restaurant.

It wasn't packed, but wasn't dead. The decor is Mardi Gras. We had a hard time deciding what to try so we decided to try items we already know well and get a baseline for the flavors. We shared the shrimp po boy w/ fries and the rice & beans with sausage. We also had a side salad that came with the rice & beans. All in all everything was good. We would come back and try some other things, including the crawfish. Staff was friendly, and service was quick.

When I first walked up to the truck, I saw the menu and was surprised by what the prices were. 12 dollars for chicken tenders, 10-12 dollars for waffles, 8 dollars for wings, and even 5 dollars for their special "ghetto seasoning." But I figured what the heck, I'll support a small business and pay a bit more for what I assumed was going to be good food considering their rating on Yelp. I ordered their chicken and waffles and when I was handed the food, I honestly thought it was a joke. I paid 22 dollars to a not so happy cashier for 4 chicken wings, 1 small waffle, and 1 small packet of syrup. This portion could be the same size as what you would get in a kids meal. And the worst part was that the wings tasted like wings you could get from WingStop. I honestly was disappointed because I was looking forward to having some tasty comfort food. I really hope in the future they adjust their prices to match the quality of their food. I would avoid unless you're looking for overpriced, average food.

So for what it's worth, they're located in basically the same building as Dunkin Donuts, at NE corner of Rural Rd. & E. Minton Dr. There's a light where you can turn. Heads up, parking lot is relatively small and there's a drive thru near entrance/exit which adds to congestion. I will say what a pleasant surprise their menu presents. Certainly not the typical options. Gizzards. Kool-Aid. Perch. And then there are the Happy Hour and Reverse Happy Hour, Weekend Specials, Karaoke on Tuesdays, did I mention Breakfast & Brunch options. We opted for the 2 chicken breasts and the 3 piece shrimp. Our server was sweet, attentive, and familiar with the menu. She provided clear and concise answers to my questions. She even gave an ordering option for the level of fried (extra crispy?) when the Catfish was ordered. Our beverages were refilled in a timely manner and she checked on us a few times to see how we were doing. Once again I skipped the gizzards, but I was tempted again. Decided our meals were likely more than enough. Spacious dining area, warm decor, televisions displaying scenery around the world, and of course there's music. We had plenty of time to spend catching up on Social Media because it took quite a while for our order. There is no doubt when your meal arrives that it was cooked to order. When our food arrived we weren't disappointed. They may not be fast but the food is fantastic. Delicious, crispy, lightweight batter on everything I've tried. Today I selected the Perch and Dark meat entree with coleslaw. Delicious, but I couldn't eat it all. My son went with Catfish & Shrimp small order with potato salad.
