Hi. I went to King's tonight for dinner. The food was amazing, but the Hisbus Limeade is a miss and my specifications for my meal were dismissed. I ordered some appetizers and a main meal. See receipt. However I stopped midway in my meal because I had to go, so asked for a bag and bowls to take my entree and sides. I was never offered to buy another drink or water or anything thw entire time, and I was there for at least an hour. I assume my specialty lemonade is not refillable for free which is fine but at least offer me more to drink or water. Something! Then my waiter took my spoon and fork very quickly before I was able to finish loading up the food, so I waited another 15 mins for her to come back to bring another fork. Then she said she would pack it. Um absolutely not and then I have to wait another 15 minutes for that? Hello I said I had to go!!!! At that point I called the restaurant from my seat after getting ghosted again to see if I could do tap pay and go. They said yep, since my waiter seems to not be around. Had to come back and get my favorite dish for my birthday. Had a cup of clam chowder to start. The chowder was excellent, but the little baggie of oyster crackers was FAR beyond stale... I couldn't even get them to soften in the soup. I had to scoop them out. I know they didn't cook the oyster crackers, but maybe pop open a bag every once in a while and test them. Main dish, my favorite, was the Sauteed N'Awlins BBQ Shrimp. I've been getting this dish for years. This time, the shrimp seemed maybe a little overcooked, or something. The meat of the shrimp was becoming a little stringy, but they were still very tender. So, I still enjoyed it. This has always been our choice for a birthday meal, either mine or another family member's. We NEVER tell the staff because we don't want an embarrassing fuss. This year, I had read online that they don't do singing here. So, I mentioned it was my birthday, and I got a free Butter Cake for dessert--another old favorite. I rate this a 4.7/5 on yelp. They start you off with a soft sourdough, and the butter.. ohh the butter, just magical. I'd say - If you want a decent, light on self and pocket - this place wins: the meals are so good that you even have room for dessert and not feel guilty.. you do get the guilty pleasure moment for their standout dish - butter cake. I am little surprised the fish and chips don't get a lot of praise here and it def is praise worthy! Their fried calamari is a little on the oiler side.. but their Clam chowder, oh that compensates well! I decided to come back to King's Fish House for the mouthwatering butter cake and boy, it did not disappoint! I decided to sit at the bar for a quick happy hour and the bartender was very friendly and prompt. I ordered a coffee to go along with my butter cake and it was honestly the perfect pairing. Our first visit to King's Fish House and it definitely won't be our last! The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Service was attentive, the food was fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We especially loved the oysters and seafood selection. We got really good service. Our waitstaff stayed attentive and thoughtful keeping our coffee hot and with a genuine smile at that. I was pleased! I'm going to speak for the table since our guests aren't on yelp. My friends asked for a piece of fish, it was okay according to them. It was a smaller dish based on the price. And the veggies were unfortunately over done. My dish, pictured, was fantastic! I got tacos and chips and I was lucky because my plate was full, filling and delicious. So it seems that if you eat here you'll want to ask about the plate sizes. I really liked the grilled limes and lemons. I squeezed them over my fish and it was warm and scrumptious. Companion and I arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. Our server Nikki brought menus and took our drink orders. We started off with Calamari. It was perfectly cooked and came with 2 sauces that I have never had served with it before. One was MaPloi, and the other was an aioli that was nicely spicey. The portion was large and unfortunately, we couldn't finish it. Companion ordered Fish & Chips. A nice sized portion of cod, perfectly fried. Unfortunately, the chips were not fried the way companion asked for them and most of them were left on the plate. For myself, I ordered the Scallop & Shrimp Combo which came with nicely prepared brussel sprouts which were grilled and then had balsamic vinegar over them. I also ordered the char broiled zucchini, which I did not care for and left most of it on my plate. On to desserts! Desserts are prepared in house and not from the outside. Companion ordered Bread Pudding. Sliced from a loaf and served with a Jack Daniels Whiskey sauce and a ball of vanilla ice cream. Companion was so full that it was not finished but not before declaring it to be delicious. I ordered the Butter Cake. A delicious cupcake sized portion tasting deeply of butter, served with whipped cream, berries, and topped with vanilla ice cream. Once again, the portion was so big that I could only eat half of it. As one might expect in a restaurant of this caliber, it was squeaky clean. Service was efficient and almost all of the food was prepared as ordered. 5 stars read more

I was in town visiting a buddy and his family, and they suggested we head to King Fish House. Great call on their part. The moment we walked in, I loved the interior--like an old fisherman who finally retired and decided to decorate the place with all his best stories. It's got charm, character, and a really inviting vibe. Our waiter, Steven, was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and easy to talk to. We ordered drinks for the table, and while they took a little longer than expected to arrive, it was clear that the delay wasn't on Steven--he kept checking in and handled everything professionally. We started with a dozen oysters. They didn't have any from Washington State, but the selection they did have was still fantastic--fresh, briny, and full of flavor. For my meal, I went with the Miso Sea Bass, and honestly, it couldn't have been better. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and one of those dishes that makes you wish it were socially acceptable to lick your plate clean. Absolutely outstanding. One of my favorite places for seafood in the valley. I got the Chilean sea bass dinner and it was flavored perfectly with tender fish. It comes with bok choy and a side of rice. My friend got the halibut and it was delicious with a large portion. Both were recommendations from our waiter Lynn who was fantastic. Honestly this experience was so much better and half the cost of having Chilean sea bass at Francines. Highly recommend. The creme brulee was better than Francines, but I've had better. read more

We were in town visiting friends and this was one of the places they took us for dinner. Since this was their home turf, we were in their hands. It is located in what I think is a mall, so there is plenty of parking. The space itself is huge, although there were not a lot of people there as we decided on having an early meal. The hostess was nice and our server was pleasant. Once we were seated, don't ask why, but the vibe I got was that we were at a seafood restaurant that gave off a Red Lobster or Chili's vibes....maybe it was the booth seating, not sure. I was happy to see that they had bubbles on the menu (Mionetto), so I ordered a split of that. For appetizer we started with a dozen oysters. While they were good and I do love oysters, the price blew me away as it was just shy of $40. They were good but not $37.50 good. Looking over the menu and based on the prices, the only thing that tempted me was the "World Class" Tuna Melt (Albacore tuna confit, grilled NY rye, tomato, Tillamook sharp cheddar). This was a good solid sandwich and most likely, if I was in town and happened back here, I would get it again. Prices were on the high side for me, seeing as I have that 'Red Lobster/Chili's" feel about the joint. For example, Filet Mignon & Lobster Tail was $78....you can get this in Chicago cheaper than this and I know places where the quality is not in question. The Farmed Colombian Tilapia and Mississippi Catfish were the cheapest fish options at $25 and they went up in price after that. Just my opinion, but when I go into a seafood restaurant and get a tuna melt, as good as it was, there is something amiss when that is the only viable choice as a dining option. I think that this is a good restaurant to stop at for a quick lunch or light dinner, but can't imagine throwing down price-wise what they are asking for seafood. read more

Visited Kings Fish House in Tempe for lunch on a Thursday. We were seated right away by a pleasant young man who showed us to a very large table in the back near the bar. Right away Devon met us at the table to take our drink order. When ordering the Miso Chilean Sea Bass, he wanted to make sure I knew how it was cooked, and after that he suggested the regular one just in case. We also ordered the two piece fish and chips. Very disappointing experience. The food was overpriced and had little to no flavor--I literally had to season it myself just to make it edible. We also ordered a fish plate, and it was not good at all and didn't seem cooked right, which made it even worse. When I asked for hot sauce, instead of the staff member just grabbing it, she told our waiter, which made it take even longer. The service felt awkward and unhelpful. When the waiter asked how everything was, we said it was "okay," and instead of addressing it, she later sent someone else over to ask us the same thing again, which didn't solve anything and just made things uncomfortable. Honestly, I ended up throwing away my Ciopino dungeoness crab and barely eating it. It wasn't terrible, just wasn't fresh at all, except the bread and the sauce was good. The calamari was okay and the only winner was the bleu cheese wedge salad. Service was very chill and there was only one person serving, so it was hard to leave when we needed. Otherwise, the place is spacious and good looking, with outdoor and indoor dining. Overall, I have to give a low review because the place should be known for the seafood, but only the wedge salad was good. Won't be coming here for another date. read more

The brussel sprouts were NOT FRESHLY COOKED. To add insult to injury, I was charged an upcharge of $3.50 for them. There were maybe 8 brussel sprouts on the plate. I've been here multiple times and have never had a bad experience. Whether I'm with my family or boyfriend I always get treated kindly and the servers are always very attentive. Hands down one of my favorite dishes is the calamari, it's delicious and the sauce it comes with gives it an added kick. Also the oysters are always very fresh in my experience and are a must order. It's cute inside and out and has a cool harbor/boathouse atmosphere while still being refined. Took the family to dinner last night. The restaurant gets 5 stars because they have the best selection of oysters, presented very well and with good accompaniments. Last night they had 8 different types both Pacific and Atlantic (and their menu separates them that way). Staff extremely helpful, even quick to adjust for a minor mix-up. Berry Smash mocktail was delicious, clam chowder soup was amazing. Tuna confit 'melt' wasnt melty enough, but since it was proper tuna I wasn't too disappointed. We come here when we're in the mood for an elevated seafood dining experience. The service here is consistently good, even when busy and the ambiance is relaxed. There is a New England coastal feel that takes you away from the Arizona desert. My favorite dish here is the cioppino, a tomato based fisherman's stew but then again, I love soup in general.
