So we'll start with this is Arizona not what I expected been to a hot N juicy in California that is way better than this so we'll start with. We walked in places pretty empty. And it took maybe 30 minutes for them to walk over to our table to see if we were ready to order, the girl claimed that she could not find her little tablet to take our order. Should've grabbed someone else's. Next drinks for the price that you're paying it should've had liquor in it . we all ordered something that was a little sweet cocktail that was completely watered down so we ended up with corona's, don't buy the drinks.. next. The way you order your bag is not something I'm accustomed to, but anyway they give you a lot of crawfish not that much shrimp and crabs are extra. Of course you have to pay extra to have the head taken off the shrimp and the sausages that they use. I'm not sure what that was. maybe a chicken beef pork blend but it definitely wasn't andouille and It wasn't all beef. It was definitely disgusting. Also, I ordered crab on the side since it doesn't come in their bag.. that was crazy. These people brought out everything and then 10 minutes later brought out our crap so we took what was laughing through our crap in the bag just unorganized.. we asked for the Cajun spice I believe and we want it on the spicy level so I can honestly say we had tomato paste with a bang to it because what you see in these two bags we took the majority of that home and it was just not what we're used to when you're getting seafood boil. Like I told my daughter there's the say hot and juicy crawfish. Maybe they stick with the crawfish side that's why you have to pay for the crabs and everything else but yeah, just the whole from the time we walked in to the drinks to how they delivered our food this establishment is an organized their cook needs a few lessons. Maybe send them back to New Orleans and get a few lessons on how to cook a real seafood boil. I hate putting a company completely bad. But there was absolutely nothing nice about this.. I even left the girl a note on my receipt telling her I wished I could've left you a higher tip, but my experience here was nothing worth tipping. I did although leave her a tip. I just did not leave her that 18% tip because it wasn't worth it.

Food here was delicious!! We shared the Drool between two of us with another pound of clams. It was just enough, we ended up not eating the whole basket of calamari. We got the mild hot and juicy sauce, and we could definitely feel the heat by the end of the meal. My sinuses were cleaning up. Next time I'll get the baby spice. Those lemons came in handy to dilute the spice level. The only downside is the shrimp are pre-frozen so they were a little mushy but you're ordering seafood in the middle of the desert. It's to be expected. Our server Maddie was awesome, she was great explaining the menu to us first-time guests. So friendly and made sure our drinks were always filled. Would definitely come back!

This is the first seafood that I tried when I moved to Arizona, the food is always good, great customer served

This has been on my list to try, finally made it over. Usually if I'm in that general area I'll go to other nearby places but today I was focused and on a mission to eat hot & spicy seafood :) We opted to share the "get your feet wet" combo. 1 lb crawfish, 1 lb shrimp, a dozen andouille sausage, 2 corn on the cob, 2 potatoes. Pros: - no wait, it was not busy. - clean interior. - friendly staff. - the hot & juicy sauce was tasty. Medium heat. - food came out fast. - had a good amount of leftovers (I plan to make a spicy, cream based seafood pasta with the extra). Cons: - everything was fine but it was just that. Not great, not bad. - I did not particularly like the crawfish. My partner said he's had much better. - beer was flat and stale.

This place never disappoints! It's been a while since I've had a visit but we decided today to head over for some lunch today. As always flavors were on point. Service was good and it wasn't too busy. Highly recommend!

    Not even half full.

If you buy sauces from this place make sure you check it before leaving, this is our second time experiencing this type of scandalous behavior. I am not driving 20 minutes to have them correct their "mistake". It's not even worth that much and they feel the need to be stingy. 9 containers, same inflated price, but different amount of sauces. The service sucks that's why we decided to stop dining in. Now we'll just stop supporting them altogether. P.S No need to send your marketing manager to my inbox, I'm not taking my review down.

So we stopped in Super Bowl weekend while walking around Mill avenue. Just by chance we say the sign and the word crawfish pulled me in.... Wasn't real busy on a Friday night at 9pm so it worked out pretty nicely. I ordered The Drool and the wife ordered a pound of clams. We both got the hot & juicy sauce, mild spice. The drool came with an order of Cajun calamari that were delicious. ( a little spicy) My boil came with a pound of crawfish ( previously frozen), pound of shrimp with heads on, half pound of crab legs, ton of sausage, 2 half ears of corn , and two small potatoes. The seasoning and taste were delicious. Lots of food in the bag. The heat on the mild was more like ordering hot seasoning somewhere else. But I was oaky with it. I would recommend going down a heat level or two to be on the safe side. Staff was very nice and food came out very quickly. I would recommend trying this place out. I will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Love their takeout options! The shrimp is really good and super spicy in a "cry while eating" kind if way. Pickup is really quick and easy.

Hot N Juicy Crawfish Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Hot N Juicy Crawfish

    Is indoor dining open?

    Yes it is

How much are the crawfish per pound?

Currently it is $14 a pound

Do you have to pay over the phone for takeout? Or can I pay at the restaurant?

Pre pay before pick up. Through their website order or phone.

    When's happy hour?

We do not have a "happy hour" as we believe every hour is happy. We do offer a lunch deal with our Po Boy sandwiches where you can get a sandwich, fries and a drink for $13 (regular price for that would be $15)

Why doesn't the phone number work every time I call it rings like a fax machine?

Because they are so busy! I seriously was on hold for 3 hours.

Does anyone know where the seafood is from? Shrimp? Crawfish?

The shrimp is from Ecuador, and the crawfish is from Louisiana. The servers will be able to tell you where all of the seafood is from if you ask!

Is the Crawfish flown in fresh from Louisiana?

    Yes

Our drinks were brought out to us promptly. I ordered the ceviche de camarón o pescado. I couldn't decide between shrimp or fish. So the server said he'll do half and half for my order. Problem solved! My friend got the Botana de camarón cosida. Both dishes were refreshing. Mine had a great citrus punch to it. Definitely lots of lime! You'd think it would be all that filling. Just some fish and some shrimp. But there was so much on the plate, I was DEFINITELY full! Even left a little on the plate. The place was nicely decorated. Very kitschy Mexico street stand vibes. No overly loud music or tv blaring. Could talk easily over lunch without yelling at each other.

This place is some what of an off location and you would have to know it's here. Little small restaurant with friendly staff and nice decor. I wanted to try everything but looking at the price I had to make one choice. Waitress was very helpful with making my decision. I decided to try the Botana Especial, which has shrimp aquachile Rojo, verde, and ceviche. Price was little out of what I like to spend for a lunch but I said what the heck, I'll roll that dice. Waitress came back with the fish and they looked yummy and decorative. She recommended to put some mayo on the tostada and she selected two salsas she likes the best. Well I never put mayo on anything but for some reason I said hell with it, I'll give it a try. First took a spoon full of the aquachile Rojo and just tasted the juice.. Oh my word, I don't know what kind of magic they pulled here but I never tasted such fresh, tasty, refreshing aquachile in my life. I was instantly in love.. So i put on some mayo, shrimp, cucumber, and slice of fresh avacado. Drip some red sauce and in my mouth it went and wow, for this time only I would have to say I like mayo... Combination of everything went so well together. Rojo was my favorite out of the three but shrimp ceviche was also amazing. Verde also had nice flavor and very tasty. Portion were pretty good and I was pretty full by the time I finished the dish. I was tempted to pick up the plate and drink the left over, but my luck I spill it all over my shirt. I really really enjoyed this place, I felt like I was sitting in the beach somewhere in Mexico and someone just made my dish and brought it to me. I can't get over how yummy this place was, I can't wait to try the tower which has some octopus and scallops.... Yummy. Girl told me owner started off with food truck and now open this place and it's been here two years.. Hope it stays busy and open for long long time.

Only downside is that…read morefor some reason Apple maps was not accurate to finding the location and parking was a challenge as it is right on Roosevelt Row. However as soon as I found it and immediately after entering Pretty Penny I was transformed to the cutest little restaurant. I was greeted immediately and had made a reservation so even though my friend hadn't arrived yet, they sat me down. They instantly offered water and menus (food and cocktail). I noticed that the menu seemed very small and the dishes were shareable -- I don't eat meat so I was hoping my friend wouldn't mind sticking with fish and seafood (which she didn't). As soon as I got to my table there was the cutest sign that said welcome to Sarah Sherman and guest -- it was such an adorable and personal touch, I loved that! As soon as my friend got there we immediately both ordered the cold brew old fashioned -- we thought about the espresso martini but this just sounded too good to pass up -- and we were not disappointed! This drink was so tasty and strong. We immediately ordered the bread (sourdough boule) to soak up some of the alcohol as well as some oysters and the salsa. The oysters were so well spiced and were absolutely delicious. But the bread, the bread, the bread -- the server mentioned that it took almost 9 months to develop the bread recipe and it served. It was the best bread and butter that I think I have ever had! The salsa was good but probably was my least favorite of everything and it was still super yummy. We then moved on to the octopus tostadas. Sometimes octopus is not my fav -- it can be too chewy but this was so amazing and incredibly flavorful. It was starting to be my favorite dish until we ordered the Hamachi -- OMG!! Talk about a mouth orgasm-- both my friend and I were yummming it up -- but seriously this bite was so complex with different flavors coming up with every chew -- it has coriander candied peanuts, fermented pineapple, avocado, pickled fresno, toasted coconut and aji amarillo yogurt -- The server mentioned that this was the chef's least favorite dish which I totally do not understand because this was off the charts in my book. We also tried the earl gray whiskey sour, which was light and delicious, and ended with the shrimp toast and the espresso martini. By the way the toast on the shrimp toast was like a little fried dough triangle -- sooooo gooood! The martini was good but the cold brew old fashioned really stole the spotlight for me. Other details I loved that just elevated the experience: Purse hook (very important to me), the little trays for your utensils, metal coasters, incredibly attentive servers, fantastic music, great ambiance and the cutest was the penny they put on top of your check. So cute -- was not expecting such an enjoyable all around experience!! Will be back 1000%!!!

To start, the menu is a bit puzzling. It's kind of like a handful of Asian-inspired dishes, a handful of Mexican/South American, and a handful of French or New American. But there's not enough of each to chart a course through one type of cuisine. So, basically you're gonna have a cultural melange meal. Hamachi crudo was really good and fairly unique. The halibut was excellently prepared but not particularly innovative in any way I could tell. Zucchini had goat cheese, which wasn't immediately clear from the description, so I didn't enjoy the rude surprise I got when I took my first bite, and didn't eat anymore, as I really despise the stuff. So that was a waste. Not a dig on the dish, just a personal thing I wish I had more notice of. There were other issues though. The wine list was exceptionally small, They were out of the bread, which is supposedly a must-try. And then we were going to get the steak but the folks next to us advised against it, showing their cut that had zero fat. They said it was leather. On that point, the tables are SUPER CLOSE. Like, a couple inches apart. You hear everything and almost can't avoid getting entwined into others' conversation. We liked the people we were next to, but be aware that it's an unintentionally awkward communal experience that's not well-suited to a date night. The service was pretty good, they put out a nice printed greeting with the reservation name, and give you a sparkling wine toast. But considering the price and overall experience we had, I'd pass and not come back.
