I have not been to a Texas Roadhouse in years, and had a really great experience here recently. There was an online waitlist you could add your self to, and when I put myself on it, the wait time was between 0-10min for our party of 4. When we arrived we noticed a lot of people waiting, but we were able to get seated immediately. So I definitely recommend the online waitlist, especially during peak hours like Saturday evening. It was packed, every table was full that we walked by. I remember back in the day when you threw the peanuts on the floor, but it seems like those days are over now. There was a packaged bag of peanuts on the table with a metal bucket for the waste. I also forgot how good the rolls taste with the cinnamon sugar butter!!! They were nice and fresh too! Our waitress was Faith, and she was awesome. I ordered the Sangria Margarita on the rocks and it was good! For my entree I choose the salmon with a house salad and Mac & cheese. The salmon was delicious, and came with a herby, dill , Mayo ish sauce on the side (like tartar sauce, but not, and better)! I would definitely order that again. Overall, a great time. I wish it hadn't been so loud, but it was a Saturday night and a packed dining room. They still do the saddle for birthdays, which we had the opportunity to watch. read more

Didn't even get past the hostess stand. The RUDE attitude was so unappetizing I would rather not eat then give this place my business if this is the type of people they have as the face of their establishment. We asked how long as were getting on the list "not long". We were waiting for someone so she wouldn't seat us. The other person was running very late so we asked to just be seated and we would simply order them food to go. "Our policy says I can't let them in once you're seated". I understand, they might not be coming and even if they do show up we won't be delaying the table, "it's our policy". Okay, then can we just be seated? "You checked in for three so I can't seat you until there's three" SERIOUSLY?!? Go to the Mesa location - worth the drive to avoid the RUDENESS here. It was 108° at night in Arizona, and this location has no indoor waiting area whatsoever. They had the hostess stand shoved all the way to the front entrance, so customers couldn't even step inside to escape the heat. Seriously? In Arizona? No indoor waiting space, no misters, nothing. It's almost impressive how little thought went into customer comfort. The hostess had one of the worst attitudes I've encountered in a long time. She was rude, dismissive, and acted like customers were an inconvenience. We were told the wait would only be 10 minutes. It ended up being much longer. At one point, I walked up to politely ask if we could wait inside because, again, it was 108° outside. Before I could even finish my sentence, a man standing next to the hostess cut me off and barked that I needed to wait in line. I wasn't trying to get on the waitlist, I was already on it. I was asking a simple question. Instead of listening for five seconds, he chose to be condescending. I just walked away because it clearly wasn't worth arguing with people who treat customers like they're bothering them. SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS Texas Roadhouse 8510 S Emerald Drive Tempe, 85284 Sometimes I have to weigh my honesty vs. being gentle. This is one of those times. Companion and I decided to try the early bird specials. I was not deluded to think that this was a high class restaurant. It's a cowboy themed, honky tonk place with lots of noise and a pack of peanuts on the table. Our waiter Charlie arrived quickly with menus and ready to take our drink order. Companion asked for a virgin cranberry margarita, but they don't make those, so companion settled on a cranberry bliss and while very tart, was enjoyable. I settled for a coke zero. We had a child sitting behind our booth who was pelting me with mac and cheese pieces. It was duck and cover for a lot of the meal since the parents did nothing to stop it. Companion ordered the single grilled pork chop and explained that it was to be cooked medium as per current USDA rules allowing pink pork. Unfortunately, it came well done. Companion asked for some apple sauce to go with the pork and was charged $3.49 for a little dish of it. For myself I ordered the 6 oz sirloin steak medium rare. There was nothing wrong with it that my water pik can't help with. It was tough and stringy. I was not expecting a prime steak here, but I also wasn't expecting a USDA select grade steak. Very disappointing. After working my way through half of the steak a person (I assume a manager) came over and asked if I wanted another steak, which I declined. I ordered a sweet potato to go with it and it was perfectly cooked, though their butter is sweet butter and lacks the flavor of salt butter on most things. A sprinkle of salt greatly improved it. My side of mushrooms was almost totally dry until I added some butter to it. Dessert was the highlight of the meal. We ordered the granny's apple classic. Out came a large slice of apple pie, swimming in a dark pool of caramel sauce and topped with a melting ball of vanilla ice cream. It was great even though it was over 1000 calories. Normally, I ding restaurants for big knives with serrated teeth, because they tear the meat of nice tender steaks, but in this case, I will not ding them for it. I might have given extra points for an electric knife though. Sanitation was top notch and service was good. I haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse since before Covid. This pandemic has really changed things, because the waiting area is no longer a barn with free peanuts in barrels while waiting for the table. And since when did we have to have every body in the party before being seated?! I ordered an herb crusted chicken. Unfortunately, it came out juicy but very salty. I wasn't the only person and the main person in my party, so I didn't want to make a scene and send the food back. Another flaw was one of the sides didn't come with the rest of the food, and the server acknowledged but forgot about it until we reminded her. Overall, it was a meal. Cool huh? The managers at this location are vigilant going from table to table asking if all's well. Servers love their jobs!: thats what the shirt they wear says and it's true! Have never had an issue. Excellent service always. My humble opinion is that you get great value at Texas Roadhouse. My order of 20oz bone-in Ribeye with two sides and hot rolls runs 37 bucks. We went there on a Sunday night at around 8:30pm, and it was still a full house!! The $79 Valentine special was a great offer. One appetizer plus two entree (with 2 sides). I stopped in here with my husband and mom for a late-night dinner. They were pretty busy, so we had to join the waitlist, which was no big deal. When we were finally seated, our waiter was a young man who initially seemed okay, but the service continued to decline throughout our dining experience. We had to ask for peanuts, which are usually standard, and were only given one small bag to share. When we asked for more, the waiter rolled his eyes and took quite a while to bring them back. We also never received refills on our iced tea or water during the meal, which was disappointing. I'm used to a higher level of service at Texas Roadhouse, so this experience really fell short of expectations. For food, we ordered the crispy onion appetizer, which unfortunately wasn't fully cooked and the dough was still wet. My husband ordered a steak meal, but the meat was extremely overcooked and nearly inedible. My mom and I shared a chicken dish, which was okay, but nothing memorable. The prices at Texas Roadhouse are low compared to other steakhouses, which contribute to their popularity. Kids were able to get us on list and we were able to get a table as we walked in. I thought it was at full capacity and was I wrong! We were just at pre prime time. Texas Roadhouse ... you know the drill... big place... big portions, loud, quality- average. You do get unlimited bread and soft drinks and bagged salted peanuts as a bonus. Good to the preseason games when in town. However, as basic as the RH is, this location in Tempe get extra credit for the staff, in particular BRITTNEY. This young lady hustled no less then 14 drinks and 4 baskets of bread to our table of four. RH Management- this young lady is to be watched and prepped for promo. Went to redturant today for my birthday appetizer. Have to say, the service was awful. The person who sat me, was also my waiter. That waiter, before being seated, was too busy, flirting with other servers. Just stood there for what seemed like 90 seconds, to 2 minutes before I was seated. Then, once my food came, it was like I was non-estistant. If it had not been for the manager coming by the table, I was would not have gotten another refill of my tea or more butter for my table. I literally, had to ask for a tea to go, and a box for my rolls. The waiter didn't even tell me I could pay on the kiosk, just handed it too me. Really poor service, under seasoned food. What an interesting policy! We came in and tried to sit down for a meal. My oldest daughter hadn't made it yet! I've have given up on the Roadhouse. The quality of the meat isn't what it used to be, and the Prime Rib I had tonight was horrible. It was so soaked in liquid smoke that that's all you could taste. Just a salty liquid smoke flavor on the meat, and more than 1/4 of the 16oz cut was one huge chunk of fat that should have been trimmed off . Besides the quality of the food the biggest complaint about the evening was a couple of tables with small screaming babies, and young children. I watched my 85 year old mother shake every time one of the kids let out a yell or a cry. This was her birthday, but we couldn't wait to get out of the restaurant. We didn't even wait for the free ice cream, because the 2 kids started a screaming contest yet again. I'll find a new place for prime rib, and I will stick to Longhorn for my steaks going forward. The food from Texas Roadhouse always hits the spot and its always pretty consistent. What changes, is the service you receive from its employees. We stopped by for lunch on Sunday and it was our first time at this location. It was around 2:30pm and thankfully is was not busy as there was no one waiting. We were seated right away and the host was nice. Our server came over a few minutes after we sat down and he quickly told us that he would be back in a few minutes. Those few minutes turned into about 20 minutes....... He was busy running around and he finally made it over to us. We were parched, we had eaten all our bread, and were ready to order our meals. He took our orders and off he went. The drinks came out a few minutes after that and he brought us more bread. After that, we didn't really see him anymore. Our food was brought out by another employee and that employee asked us if we needed anything else. We asked him for ranch and he never brought it to us and our server was MIA. We finally got checked on at the end of our meal and we just asked for to go boxes. Surprisingly those came out fast. Ladies be careful with your boyfriend/husbands there's a waitress of name Cristal. It's the 3rd time that we go there and the 1st time I went to the bathroom and when I was about to wash my hands a lady told me that our waitress had her leg on the booth next to my husband, I did not pay attention to it and I continued my meal normally. Second time I noticed that she never looked at me when we order she was just talking to my boyfriend as if I didn't exist. Even him said that it was very uncomfortable anyway, I also noticed that she had that leg thing going on with other men on the next table which was incredibly inappropriate!! Man, Texas Roadhouse used to "hit" every time. The last 2-3 visits have been subpar. Our usuals are layered fries, chicken fried chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes with cream gravy and chicken critters with house salad with fries and ranch. Like top tier fried meal, not good for ya cuz it sticks to your ribs but makes you happy meal? That's what it used to be. Fast forward to giving it another try today. We get in around 2pm. They are busy, which usually is a good sign. We ordered our usual as stated above, minus the cheese fries and instead of green beans, got their Mac n cheese(completely gross. Wow. Idk what that was. Wanted to try something new, nope.) and two half cut iced teas and extra lemon. We had to ask FOUR times for lemons. Four times, I'm not even joking, 3 times to our server and one to the guy who dropped off our food and asked if we needed anything else? Yes, please, lemon. Do I need to pay extra to the lemon gods to get some? Thank god the guy asked if we needed anything else because she didnt even check on us after we got our food. Only when she noticed we weren't eating any more. It still took at least another 3-5 minutes to get the lemon that was dropped off by our server. No "sorry about that! Completely forgot." We totally get stuff happens and it's easy to forget things but she really just clearly did not care. Do better. She didn't deserve anything near a 20% tip but I also believe people have bad days. But BASIC service needs were not met in the least bit. PS the chicken critters I was served were lukewarm, at best. Sitting under the heat lamp had made them dry. Sad.
