Had takeout from Poke Wave for the first time last night and really enjoyed it. It's a great fast-casual concept where you get a generous bowl for about $13 -- excellent value. We ordered the Aloha Premium Bowl with salmon and Hawaiian tuna plus assorted veggies, along with a build-your-own bowl. Best poke I've ever had in arizona. Fairly priced with a good amount of topping options. Service was actually incredible. Its a little overwhelming to see everything for the first time but the guy assisting us was really patient and helped guide us through. This place was really good! My husband brought me here after trying it himself first. There's so many options when it comes to the proteins and toppings. I do love too that they have many sauce choice but they also show popular combos on the order window and they will give you recommendations as well on what they like to mix and what works well with the proteins you chose. They do have some drinks called refreshers and it's sodas with some mix ins and I tried the lemon coke. It was really different and gave me a flashback of lemon Pepsi from years ago. For AZ, this is not as bad as other poke places but unfortunately the tuna I received was stringy and not fresh. Salmon was OK. All the toppings and and sauces were good though. I ordered a two protein bowl. I got salmon and Hawaii tuna on white rice. The fish was very fresh. Every bite was great. There was a good choice of mix ins. I didn't love the shoyu sauce I got. Just tasted like soy. I was really excited about the cucumber kimchi but was disappointed. The acid level was off and there was no other pickled cucumber option. This humble place is awesome. I am from Hawaii and you don't find Hawaiian ahi that tastes this authentic on the mainland often. They have a great selection of hard to find Hawaiian juices, nice fresh poke toppings and generous portions for the price. I recently moved back to the neighborhood it's in and was delighted to find they are still here and serving up great poke bowls. Poke wave coming through! This is one of my favorite pokespots in the valley. I flip back between this spot and another that is close by depending on mood. Poke wave offers a large variety of options such as various style cooked protein or raw ingredient burritos, brown or white rice bowls, and even kale or spring mix salad. To further expand your customizations they have plenty of toppings/mix-ins/add-ins to choose from. After the gym I'll have no guilt ordering a kale salad, triple protein scoop, and kimchi cucumbers with many other toppings. As for burritos I really enjoyed the baked salmon with wasabi sauce, be sure to grab extra napkins. It can get messy. If you save room at the end you can get some Dole whip-a sweet and tart treat. My previous check-in, they offered a lime and pineapple swirl option. For drinks they offer Hawaiian sun products (p.o.g.!), Ramune, and various teas or just water. read more

This was my first experience with a poke place, even though I love sushi. I came here with a work group for a birthday lunch. I was a bit overwhelmed after walking in, looking at the very large menu on the wall behind the counter. It is set up like a Subway, with a long bar of ingredients behind a little window. The menu is a bit confusing the way it is organized, and there are no descriptions for the ingredients, some of which are uncommon (at least I've never heard of some and I'm a regular sushi eater). The employees were all very nice. The dining area is small, with no tables larger than 4 seats. So our group of 7 did not get to sit together. It ultimately comes down to two main options, a poke bowl or a burrito. There are pre-designed options or build your own. The burrito is basically a sushi role with the rice on the inside of the seaweed wrap, and fillings in the middle. I chose a burrito because I was so unsure about what to get and I love burritos. I tried the kukui, which consisted of salmon baked in garlic butter with various fillings such as a crab salad, lettuce, rice, peppers, slaw, and pickled onions. I opted to add some raw Hawaiian tuna. The burrito was wrapped in paper and cut in half and then placed in a cool cylinder type of box that you tear open in the middle. It would work great for eating it on the go, but the box was unnecessary for eating in the restaurant. The burrito was decent, but not impressive tasting. It was a good size, but lacked much flavor or spice. I had to add sriracha. It was also a bit greasy on the outside of the wrap. Half of our group ordered burritos and half opted for a bowl. The bowls looked much more appealing. I tried the pineapple Dole whip soft serve after my burrito. It was good but very sweet, almost with an artificial sweetener flavor. It was also deceptive how they serve it, as they line the inner wall of the cup and then mound it on top. So it looks like you're getting more than you are (see picture). I didn't feel like the soft serve was a good value at $4, but the burrito was an average value at $13. Overall not a stellar first experience here, but I would come back to try a bowl. read more

I rode the wave in after hearing that Poké Wave is one of Yelp's Best 50 places to eat in 2018. I was in a desperate search to find some Aloha spirit in AZ after my first visit to Oahu, and I finally found it here! During my first few visits I brought a couple of coworkers with me to try it out. We actually drove from Phoenix to Chandler on our lunch break just because of the great reviews on Yelp, and I am so glad we made the trip! The peeps at Poké Wave were super friendly and showed us how to order our meals during our first visit. They hooked me up with a handy dandy punch card and I have been eagerly working my way towards my first freebie with it ever since. The Oahu Classic is my go to Waveritto. It's everything. I really love it with tuna but it can also be made with salmon as well. Recently they had an amazing addition to my favorite Poké spot - the Dole Whip machine! I haven't been able to really dive in to a full serving of it yet but I promised myself I will save that for a special day. Dole Whip doesn't travel too well in the Arizona desert either so I'll have to stay put and enjoy it inside the restaurant instead. Looking forward to turning the clocks back to Hawaii time and enjoying a bit of sweet pineapple goodness in the very near future! I seriously love this place. When are we going again??? read more
