We were invited to Bei Sushi by a friend of mine who set very high expectations for the place. The location is located in a strip mall with lots of parking. We were very sceptical at first but the recommendation was spot on. We were seated right away and our server Bela approached immediately. She was very friendly and went down the menu telling us all about the specials and her recommendations. We needed no recommendations because we were there for one thing the Bei special. The special was an assortment of various rolls assembled beautifully making each piece stand out. The first bite was divine and as we worked around the ring of rolls they got better and better. The sauces brought perfect harmony and complemented the fish. The sushi was incredibly fresh not having the fishy order lingering. The rolls melted in your mouth like butter leaving you satisfied. It was so good we placed a second order. Bela stopped by frequently checking on us and also telling us about the restaurant and the area and provided a friendly atmosphere that you do not often get in northern Midwest. The Spider Roll was very good except for the sauce on top that did not suite our palate but after removing the sauce it was fantastic. The Hot Mama Roll was also amazing. The flavors went well with the Yuki Mango Nigori Sake. We also tried some of their beers and spent a while catching up. Belas service was second to none and made this reunion fabulous. The sushi at Bei was better than 95% of our sushi restaurants in my state and the price was very good. They also have a cute cat robot that delivers food! Had high hopes for this place based on the number of reviews but upon entering I detected a musty smell from a combination of the heat, humidity and poor air circulation as one walked passed the sushi area and on the way into the restrooms. Overall food was just average and based on the clientele they were regulars who came for the all day 1/2 off Mondays. The various pieces of raw seafood were not cold overall (6 out of 10) for coldness) with the exception of the seaweed salad. Chicken Karage was interesting as the side sauce was mustard which normally one would be provided with yuzu which we received afterwards. For those who know good quality sushi - this is not the place to go but if you want something to fill you up and don't care so much about the quality then this is the place for you. read more

We've been back quite a few times now to this location and definitely enjoy the happy hour offerings. Monday is all day happy hour Tuesday through Sunday. My friends and I got too hungry and by 2pm, so we searched for the restaurants around that offered lunch specials and found Bei. I was so surprised that they offered lunch bento boxes specials until 2:15pm! Yay us! Both the salmon and Korean beef were soooooo delicious! For $13 each, we got A LOT of food!!! The spicy white fish baked roll 9.2/10 ,the gyoza was about an 8.9/10 and the lobster rolls thingy were a solid 9/10. This place got 5 starts cause the food combined with the service was amazing. With two cokes and 3 rolls and gyoza with tip came to 75 dollars well worth it and yes I will go back again . Couldn't figure out why based on the ingredients. The Scottsdale Roll had that generic sushi taste to it since it was drowned in sauce. I caught happy hour so the Hawaiian Roll was lower priced. Their sushi bar specials come with miso soup. I've had the sushi combo which comes with 4 pieces of nigiri and 8 pieces of California roll for only $12.95 and you can upgrade to a spicy tuna roll for 50 cents more. It was actually a lot of food and probably my favorite. The chirashi combo-7 piece chef's choice sashimi over rice $14.50 was ok. Unagi had a cold thick sauce over it which was kind of off putting for me. Although the lunch specials were pretty good, uni and spicy scallops were just so so and I wouldn't order again. We were there at 6 and were pleasantly surprised when we found out that they have happy hour everyday from 4-7. Restaurant was pretty occupied but it was easy to find a table as it is a sizable place. We sat close to the robot "cat" server. It was pretty entertaining for our kid. We ordered edamame and fried calamari as well as six sushi rolls and one soda. They had the majority of rolls discounted. They had other options on the menu also including noodle dishes but we were there for the sushi. Edamame was good. Calamari was interesting. I've never had ones that are cooked in huge pieces like that, so the texture felt almost a little different but ok. The dipping sauce complimented them really well though. The rolls were all very good, some better than others. I always pick cooked rolls so it took a little while for them to come out. All were were fresh and had good flavor. Our favorite was probably love is blind. Total before tip was around $80. If I remember correctly, the most expensive roll during happy hour was about $13+ Worth a try for sure! read more

When I arrived at night, the parking/shopping area it's located in seems very sketch as it's super dark and they are the only establishment opened at night. Creepy and not great vibes. While it was a full restaurant, it seems to be a bit run down which gives it a hole in the wall feel. Came here for a quick lunch with a friend. We arrived near the end of their lunch time, but the staff were kind in accommodating us and helping us get our order in before the kitchen closed. I ordered the tempura bento and my friend got the chirashi bowl. They have a little robot bring your food to you, so that was fun. The food came out quickly and was tasty. We didn't go for happy hour but def will in the future as I saw some of the rolls we picked are on their extensive HH menu. Food was delicious and came out quick. I really like Bei Sushi. Their lunch bento box is the best. I recommend them highly. Their food is fantastic! Their lunch hours are open until 2:30 but was once turned away at about 1:55. I was a little embarrassed somehow. For as good as everything here is, it doesn't have as much business as they deserve. Is it going to be the highest quality sushi you've had? Absolutely not, but the moderate prices, diverse menu, and quick-ish turnaround for pick up or delivery are sometimes more important factors to consider! I wouldn't make Bei a date night destination, but I would recommend for sushi in a pinch... just keep your expectations in check and you will be fine. I went solo dolo for happy hour at 9pm and got seaweed salad, the baked salmon roll, and the volcano roll. It was really good! I loved the rolls and the salad portion is huge.
