Small restaurant in strip mall with counter service. They offer a nice variety of Poke and other items if you aren't a fish eater. Good service. Good selection. Good prices with lunch specials. I would recommend.

Did you know that poke served with salmon is not a part of the original Hawaii cuisine? The classic Poke during the late 1800s was prepared from raw ahi tuna or cured octopus. But if you need me, I'll be daydreaming about salmon. I love that dang fish. I haven't tried the poke at Lomi Poki yet but I've been getting the Teriyaki Salmon Bento. They cook the salmon on the flat top right before your eyes so you know the food will be hot. I suspect the egg roll and gyoza in the bento is of the frozen pre-packaged variety but it's okay. A nice refreshing salad is served on the side. As for the grilled salmon, I didn't realize they served them in tiny nugget-sized pieces which was interesting. It's not a deal breaker but definitely something worth noting. So yeah, not bad for a quick takeout dinner after working out at EOS next door!

Build Your Own Poke Bowl with 2 Proteins

Poke is now the latest thing my husband and I are trying around town. Yesterday, my we were in the area so we decided to try Lomi. I ordered through Yelp, build your own bowl with two proteins. I ordered the same combination for myself and my husband. It was ready ahead of pick up time, I gave it about 10 minutes after ordering and then I stepped into the restaurant, the bowls were almost ready. For our proteins, we both chose the shrimp because it's cooked and then added multiple toppings. This is the first place that doesn't have mangoes but instead, they offer pineapples. No extra charge for the crab salad. I added for the first time seaweed salad. Normally I like it but I think when it has to be served really cold otherwise the taste kinda changes and it doesn't taste as good. I think when it was added too close to the warm rice, it didn't taste great to me so I pushed it aside. Everything else was delicious. The shrimps were cold. I chose the sweet chili sauce. It blended well with everything but overall, the bowl was slightly on the sweeter side especially with the addition of pineapple. I might try another sauce next time and might skip the pineapple as well as the seaweed salad. The restaurant is currently closed for dine in. They have social distancing enforced, everyone wears a mask and gloves and you are required to wear a mask when you walk in. They also have a hand sanitizer at the counter. Prices are average and for the size of the bowl, this was a delicious quick dinner that was easily eaten in the car! Give them a try!

Poke burrito with salmon and tuna

I was craving a poke burrito something fierce and had been wanting to try Lomi Poki ever since I heard it opened. It's a convenient location in the Eos Fitness shopping plaza and I will never say no to another poke place opening up in Tempe! They have a plethora of preset options for bowls and a few preset poke burritos, or you can be all creative and make your own. I opted to make my own poke burrito to go with tuna and salmon. At home I unwrapped my securely packaged poke burrito bounty. It looked marvelous, with its mixture of colors and textures. The taste? It was alright. While I enjoyed all the ingredients together, I felt it needed just a bit more sauce because it wasn't as packed with flavor as other poke burritos I've had at other places.

    Spicy poke bowl to go!

Lomi Poki has the Poké-technique down to a Tee! Their selections and quality of Poké is top notch. The poké is expertly cut to thick squares, marinated with a burst of flavor. In comparison to other nearby spots, Lomi definitely is a tier above. Let me be your poké guide, and take my word for it. If you're having a raw fish craving, stop on by! My picks are the spicy poké bowl and the Hawaiian bowl. There is a satisfying amount of crunch and creaminess to every bite, combined with the comforting texture of white rice! The tempura bowl is also very good. They also offer different sides like edamame and a soda machine. Restrooms and inside very clean! Lomi is the LOML (love of my life). Just kidding, we aren't that serious... Yet.

Build Your Own Poke Bowl with 3 Proteins
    Gina L.

I got the build your own poke with 3 proteins (salmon, Lomi salmon, and Hawaiian tuna) on white rice ($11.99) First of all, they add A TON of rice to your bowl, which accounted for 80% of the bowl. The scoops they use for the protein are small ice cream scoops. There were fresh pieces of fish here and there, but overall it was average. Their toppings were fresh, unlimited, and free (minus the avocado and kimchi which are +$1) so I got a little bit of everything. I liked the pickled radish, seaweed, and the sesame seeds were a must. The wasabi was quite bland, so ask for extra! It's a heavy bowl of food, but the ratio of rice to fish is way off. Also, the rice was quite warm coming out of the rice cooker, which warmed the fish to a slightly uncomfortable temperature. I wasn't the biggest fan of paying $12 for a bowl of rice, but I ate it begrudgingly.

Amazing quality!!! So fresh and delicious, the BEST poki in town in my opinion! Byo Poke Bowl

Spring mix, crab meat, edamame, carrots, avocado, cabbage, cucumbers, and sesame seeds.

Food was ready in 15 minutes. We got the lobster roll which is Connecticut style-my preference-with lots of butter! They had a fish and chips special so we got that too. And a pb&j cookie for my birthday! My husband very recently broke his leg so picking up Chulas with some great lobster was a nice treat! It's not inexpensive but you get what you pay for. TUNA MELT- it's refreshing to have a tuna sandwich that is not canned tuna. There is a chimichiri sauce that you can get to drizzle on it that really gives a depth of flavor. The bread was a nice sourdough that was not just a cheap white bread and did not get soggy. However, with my sandwich, the bread was burnt so that bitterness ruined the flavor of the delicate fish. My pictures shows a few burnt spots, but on the bottom side was way more burnt and it was like they put the most burnt side on the bottom to hide it and hope I didn't notice. I did not appreciate this. CLAM CHOWDER- creamy and more on the fluid consistency, being made with fresh clams makes the difference. Not the best chowder i've had, but was pretty decent. The fish variety can vary with seasons, but it is nice to get different choices throughout the year. There are limited offerings here compared to the bigger location across town, as far as menu and fish selection. But for a small store it is a good place to get some quality seafood to take home or sit and eat. Check out the great happy hour deals

I've been here several times, and it has become my go-to spot whenever I miss traditional Filipino food or find myself shopping for Asian groceries at Mekong Supermarket. On our recent visit, we savored the crispy skin and tender meat of the lechon and enjoyed the Longsilog--a portmanteau of three Filipino words: Longganisa (Filipino sausage), Sinangag (fried rice), and Itlog (egg). Wholly Grill also offers standout dishes like Sisig paired with Atchara. Sisig has no direct English translation but can be described as "sizzling chopped meat." Traditionally made from pork (often the face, ears, and snout), it's seasoned with spices, lime, onions, and chili, and served on a sizzling plate. It's a dish so remarkable that celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain once called it the food that "will win the hearts and minds of the world as a whole." Meanwhile, Atchara, made from pickled unripe papaya, perfectly complements the savory goodness of Sisig. Growing up, I often had Atchara with meals, as my dad used to make jars of it using papayas from our backyard trees. Another must-try at Wholly Grill is the Lechon Kawali, served with the iconic Mang Tomas sauce. With its crispiness and juiciness, every bite is a burst of flavor and satisfaction. To fully satisfy my cravings, I never miss their delicious desserts like Puto Kutsinta (steamed rice cake), Suman (sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves), and cassava cake. Every visit to Wholly Grill is truly satisfying, and the affordable prices make it even better. I always look forward to coming back.
