My family ordered the teriyaki chicken and chicken fried rice. Both were delicious with very generous portions. The waiter found out it was my birthday and they put on fun party lights and played a birthday song I've never heard before! It was so cute and kawaii. We also had delicious sake bombs. We put our name on the waitlist. We were seated about 10 minutes later. We ordered six rolls to share between 2. Rainbow on top, Spicy tuna, Maki tuna, Maki salmon, Salmon avocado and Eel rolls. All were fresh tasting and delicious. Our favorites were the Eel, Rainbow on top and Maki Tuna rolls. We enjoyed some Asahi beer to complement the rolls. Nice and crisp! Perfect with sushi. Great value Tuesday through Thursday with happy hour all day, only until 2pm on Friday and Saturday. Service was good considering how busy it was. Be patient. It's worth it! Enjoy! We ordered the following: 2 Miso soups 4 Rolls - 1 Mido roll - 1 Shrimp Tempura roll - 1 Dragon Roll - 1 Pancho crunch roll - 2 Jalapeno cream cheese poppers ALLLL the rolls were delicious. Every single one of them tasted fresh and were stuffed. The jalapeno poppers were my favorite as they had a nice crunch to them and were spicy. My daughters and I came here for a girls night on Friday. There was no wait but the place was busy. We ordered the sushi special which was $38 for three rolls and three Nigiri. The sushi was fresh delicious I love the variety of options to choose from it happened to be somebody's birthday while we were in there and they had these fun lights and a birthday song for the birthday party person overall, our experience was really great. The service was excellent when we were leaving every single person that worked there said goodbye to us. Mido is a long-time favorite. I used to go with my family fairly often maybe a decade ago, then here and there before the pandemic. Hadn't been back until recently. I met up with a friend for a late dinner around 7pm on a Wednesday. I was surprised how busy it was at that time, or I'm just used to eating earlier. It so happened to be happy hour all day too (their website says happy hour is all day Tuesday through Thursday, 11:30am-2:00pm Friday & Saturday). They give you the main menu, a happy hour sushi menu, and regular sushi menu. The Pancho Top Spicy Crabmeat roll was always a favorite, so I had to get that one again. I also got Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon. I think I got overly excited to dine here that I ordered too much. No doubt that I devoured it all, but I was stuffed! The Pancho Top was just as good as I remembered. Spicy Tuna was pretty good, but I liked the Spicy Salmon better. My friend also ordered 3 rolls, but didn't finish it and took home leftovers. Service was great and moved quickly and efficiently. I recognized one sushi chef - he has been there every time I've ever dined here. I wonder if he's the owner. I've had a roller coaster ride with Mido, but overall, I continue to return as the quality of the sushi I get is on point. They do have a wide selection of sushi on the menu so you can easily find something that you're looking for. The staff here is always friendly & at one point I remember they would remember me as I used to come in 2 to 3 times a week but over the years, I just haven't had that much free time. The lunch menu is good, but consider that its heavy with rice related sushi items. The lunch deal is worth it. I'm a big sashimi fan so I don't really get to take advantage of it, but it never disappoints and seems fresh. Meeting some friends here for lunch. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by some friendly ladies that told me to pick any table. Once seated, one of the ladies came over with menus, ordering sheets and offered to get me a drink. After my friends showed up, another lady took their drink orders and shortly followed up to see if we were ready to order. We opted for their Yellowtail Kamas each, edamame, pop sushi (it doesn't contain any rice), and their tempura luncheon special (includes 3 pieces of nigiri sushi, California roll and huge portions of their veggie tempura and shrimp tempura). Everything came out fairly quickly. You will not go away hungry. This places has one of the largest pieces of Kama I have ever received. Mido is one of my favorite traditional Japanese restaurants in the area! It is in southern Tempe, technically Chandler but it's worth the drive if you aren't located in Chandler. The staff is very friendly and the sushi chefs are super welcoming. I love to go for their Happy Hour and load up on sushi! I have tried every roll on their lunch menu and just have to say that you can not go wrong. The Tempe Roll (middle) is my favorite fried roll, and the Pancho roll is my favorite non-fried roll. Fairly so-so Japanese food and came in here for lunch the other day. Place had a good amount of people dining in, so that's good for them. I am trying to recall what I had and none of it really stands out now. I think I got a lunch box B, and my friend had an unagi roll. Weird that no miso soup or salad came with the lunch special, and I didn't even bother to check on the menu if it came with that. Nigiri pieces were OK. Roll was so so, rice wasn't sticky really. Unagi roll wasn't too bad and I had one piece. Nothing really memorable here, but I did enjoy seeing my friend. Probably will pass on a place like this next time. Checked out this sushi/japanese restaurant on the recommendation from a friend. The restaurant had plenty of tables but does get busy on the weekends. Service was average and the ambiance was your basic Japanese restaurant. We ordered gyoza and edamame as appetizers. The gyoza was deep fried almost to the point of not edible and the edamame was fine. I ordered the chicken teriyaki which took a long time to get (I don't know why) and it is a huge portion of chicken breast which was overcooked, with rice and a gelatin teriyaki sauce which had a nice flavor. My wife and son split a sushi boat. They said the rolls were good and my wife said the nigiri salmon and yellowtail were very good. I also ordered their jalapeño poppers and they were very good.
