    Spicy Garlic Edamame

I was informed by the staff Mikado Sushi offers a daily happy hour from 3pm-6pm. They offer a list of items that are part of the happy hour menu. We dine in on a Friday night and it was a full house! The restaurant is small but they are able to seat a good amount of people. The place was lively and the staff were friendly. We came right before the end of happy hour and were still able to order from it. The service and staff were great and attentive but the sushi was not as good as we would have liked it to be. It was the flavor and texture. We ordered the following rolls and appetizer at happy hour price: Shrimp Tempura Roll $6.25 (Recommend this roll) Spicy Salmon Roll $5.95 (The flavor profile was missing) Las Vegas Roll $10.95 (The outside layer to too thick) Volcano Roll 12.95 (The flavor profile was missing) Spicy Edamame $4.95 (Not spicy at all but it was sweet) My goal is to provide this review as a constructive feedback for the menu because the staff and customer turnout is on point.

Miso soup 8/10. Good flavor, could use a little more tofu. The rolls were amazing. Super yummy, great flavors, very fresh. Service was good. Friendly and quick. Definitely will be back!!!!!

WOW! This place hit every mark. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here often. I came with two girlfriends by recommendation from one who lives down the street. Parking was ample as the restaurant is situated inside of a strip mall. As soon as we walked in, we were cheerily greeted by an older Asian woman who let us pick our table. Everyone working appeared to be Asian, which is typically a sign of great things to come. And it was. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and something I would come back and have again. Everything pictured was also on happy hour, except the hamachi x hamachi roll (which was my personal favorite and totally worth paying full price for). Our bill for everything was around $105 before tip. When you order the spicy jalapeño poppers on happy hour, note that the meat that comes inside of them is chef's choice between imitation crab, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, or spicy yellowtail. Also note that the menu says the happy hour portion comes with only three pieces while the regular menu says it comes with eight, but happy hour is really six pieces (three full poppers cut in half) so it's a great deal. That one confused our group a lot, so I figured this information was helpful to share. The inside of the restaurant is quaint and inviting. In my experience, the best sushi/Asian restaurants are often the least fancy.

One of the best sushi and Japanese restaurants in the South East valley. The fresh Wasabi is a must! In 2023, my family and I visited Japan and fell in love with the curry being served there. I haven't found a place out here that can match it, until now. I couldn't get enough. I told my son about this place and found myself eating there for a second night in a row.

Added to the list of my favorite sushi restaurants when I dont want to drive far. Previously, I'd dismiss this place because the food was blah. But recently, thanks to instagram influencers, I rediscovered this gem. I like to try their special fish which are always delicious. My kids like to try different cooked items as well. The ramen does not disappoint. Depending on the nights, service can be slow. We like to sit at the bar so the service has not been too bad.

The food here is amazing. Everything is made fresh and Lina was really kind! Service is amazing. Really chill spot for affordable prices. You definitely won't regret coming here. Try the scorpion roll if you get the chance!

    Albacore Sashimi

Ambitious, clean, and overly accommodating. I really enjoyed the high quality food, inviting ambiance, and kind gentle nature of the staff. One of my favorite quality sushi establishments. Lina was the best server too tip her well !

Its in a building at the edge of a strip mall so seems like plenty of parking. There's a fun light display with the logo outside the front door on the sidewalk. Inside is very cute! They've definitely made an effort on the ambiance. There's also a nice side patio that looks like it has bamboo shades to make it less "strip mall". The staff here are very warm and welcoming. Great service! Throughout our dinner and our long sitting and chatting after, our waitress was friendly, checking in and offering soda refills. We had the shrimp tempura -- really good! A friend had sushi and loved it (and comes here regularly), and the rest of us all had stir-fries, which were all very good. I ordered Mongolian beef and asked if they had chili oil and our waitress asked if I wanted it in the dish or on the side and I said both, which was no problem. This is a great neighborhood spot to enjoy a relaxed dinner (or lunch!) with friends (or yourself, whatever). It wasn't noisy and we felt very welcomed there. Food was great and its really a great option if you want sushi and others dont. They also have happy hour pricing on some of the appetizers, sushi and boba but I don't think they have alcohol. I can see why this place gets such high stars and will definitely be back.

The parking lot and restaurant were full which was a good sign. I ordered the Pork Belly Buns as an appetizer and my partner ordered the Shrimp Tempura. Both were very good, especially the Shrimp Tempura. For my entree, I ordered the Tantanmen Ramen and was beyond satisfied with my choice. The ramen was extremely flavorful and the marinated egg was the perfect addition, providing a slightly sweet taste. My partner ordered the Hot Spicy Ramen which was good but wasn't a favorite. Service was great, food was delicious, and prices were fantastic. We haven't been back yet but Bloomy Kitchen is definitely a place I would recommend.

Nestled in historic downtown Chandler, in the narrow sliver of Boston Street, the speak-easy themed cocktail bar and restaurant is located inside the former home of the Chandler Arizonan, the city's original hometown newspaper since 1912. With exposed brick walls and rich wood finishes, the historic site provides an upscale, contemporary urban and industrial-chic setting. After easily finding parking in walking distance from the entrance, we arrived shortly before midnight of the 7th. They were closing soon, but we had enough time to order a round of craftly-made cocktails and beers to down quickly. It helps when your friend knows the bartender. Enter smiley face emoji here. THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN is credited for the first place that I ever tried a CLOVER CLUB, a pink, frothy cocktail with fruity, citrusy, velvety qualities. I was instantly tickled pink, literally, by the nostalgic feel of the elegant concoction, topped with artfully designed egg white foam and served in a vintage-style champagne glass. What a beauty of a drink with a touch of class and sophistication! Almost made me want to throw on a flapper dress and dance the Charleston...until I realized the need to balance from the powerful punch in the serious drink. Fancy, stiff cocktails served at THE BRICKYARD DOWNTWON fo shizz. No complaints about that here! It's been a while since I visited Arizona. Maybe it's time to return. If/when I do, I will mos def drop by THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN again!

My boyfriend and I came to Shimogamo for Mother's Day and ordered the five-course meal. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing compared to our previous visit. The biggest issue was the service. Our waitress, an older woman, came across as dismissive and unnecessarily rude throughout the evening. When we were seated, she offered complimentary rosé. I accepted a glass, but my boyfriend does not drink alcohol, so he politely asked if he could order a mocktail instead. Before he could even finish, she abruptly responded, "No, you can wait to place an order for that," as if he was trying to substitute the complimentary drink, which he was not. He was simply trying to order a beverage. Later, when the braised beef course was served, my boyfriend politely asked if he could have a spoon or fork. The waitress loudly repeated "A SPOON?" in a mocking tone in front of nearby guests, which made the interaction uncomfortable and embarrassing. As for the food, the five-course menu was average at best and far below what we expected from Shimogamo. The salmon tartare and sushi course were both excellent and showed the quality we remembered from our first visit. However, the remaining courses fell flat. The fried branzino was dry and seemed poorly prepared, despite the promising flavors of capers and cream sauce. The braised short rib felt completely out of place on the menu and lacked refinement it was dry, heavy, and more reminiscent of a chain steakhouse meal than an upscale dining experience. The entire dinner also felt rushed, with little attention to pacing or hospitality. What makes this especially disappointing is that we dined here back in November on a double date and had an incredible experience. We spent over $600 that evening, and the service and food were exceptional. Our waitress at that time was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. She guided us through recommendations, and every dish impressed us. That's why this visit was so surprising. Shimogamo clearly has the ability to provide an outstanding dining experience, which makes the decline in both service and execution even more concerning. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because this restaurant was once one of our favorites.
