Our food was amazing! Everything tasted great and all of the dressings and sauces came on the side so we could use as much as we wanted and our server let us know what each sauce was for. It was also a great value. The lunch combo with four items was only $20 and included the one pictured below with two rolls, edamame and salmon teriyaki as well as a side salad and miso soup. Our servers were very kind but the service was slow. Our drinks had to wait a while to be filled and we kept having to flag them down to ask for more sauce trays, forks, refills, and the bill. It was a weekday and it was still pretty busy during the lunch hour. The restaurant has a very nice and calm ambiance and it was nice for my grandparents who are elderly. It is comfortable and clean looking and there are single person restrooms. A nice casual sit down place that is worth it for lunch when you are not in a rush. read more

I order to go from this place, so it's possible that the food, when eaten there, is better. I got the lunch omakase, and I thought it was okay. The tempura roll was fine, but it wasn't anything to write home about. I feel like the tempura they used was super fried. I enjoyed the miso soup. I thought that the fish quality was what you would expect from a strip mall sushi restaurant. I also got the scallop nigiri, and I would not get this again. I feel like it tasted fine, again, but it wasn't worth it for the price. I think next time I come back, I would get the chirashi bowl instead. read more

Ooof. I've been coming to this place since 2010. I'm a chandler resident since birth, I've known of good places, great places all over the state. Heck, I went here in 2012 half pregnant and the waitress stopped me from eating smoked salmon, because, well, babies. I've ordered Togo, I've dined in. This has always been a top tier place. On the website today, mikado has been around since 2002. Dayum. Ok great. However on their website no matter what you do, their menu would not pop up. Ok, I've been there enough. And as a trained worker in the field I ordered my dinner for my family at 425. Pm. Well before the expected 5 pm rush. Again, I'm not expecting issues. But at this stage of the country, the people, dayum yall, I get nervous. Send my hubby the email confirmation so he knows what to look for. Bless his heart, he comes home with more incorrect orders which makes us all consider not ever ordering out again. Ever. He came home. They had construction in the parking lot. Ok. They also had jokes with our order. Listen, closely, this place is easily 8/10 times fabulous. But today I wanted to comment upon a joke they must have thought was super funny. Chicken udon... Listen this wasnt the only messed up item However, this specific item has to have been an f* you. How could it not be. Before you see the photo picture what you think chicken udon is. I'm also guaranteeing most of you saw the photo before reading the review. But. Cooked(I'm hopefully thinking they are) udon noodles, with a daikon radish peel, and a half deviled egg, isn't what the description on reviews listed(though my husband always being the cheerleader he is, said it wasn't off*. Mind you again, a business that has been proudly open since 2002, today the menu wouldn't open or download or just magically appear, though, it wasn't this 3 ingredient masterpiece. I was raised in chandler. Take pride in my local spots. I even tipped 20 bucks to whoever it was who had to place my order into plastic bags, I can only imagine how thankful any grocery store employee who loads groceries into bags would be to receive 20/ order. My son lives walking distance from the sushi restaurant. It was a great experience. The service was quick and the waiter was nice. We ordered a d got our food on several minutes first the appetizers calamari, tempura . Then shortly after that our sushi. We devoured it. My son has never been there and will go back soon. They do have your standard types of sushi rolls, but when you get the nigiri with the real toro.. you know. They have shaved wasabi options as well. We thought the sushi was very good. Two of us had the Sushi Combo with soup and salad. Our friend had the Sushi Sashimi combo and that is what I will order next time. We had a few other items and everything was tasty. The owner came over and introduced himself. The Sushi bar does not have a lot of seats and was full when we arrived so we sat at a booth. It's not a large space but it's comfortable. It did take awhile before we gave our order but once we did our food came out fairly fast. It will be a place we will return to when we need our Sushi fix. read more

The service was the best I've experienced at almost any other sushi spot. The ladies that were our servers yesterday during happy hour were fantastic! I recommend the Las Vegas roll it some of the best I've ever had. Their salmon x salmon is absolutely fantastic as well. Their takoyaki was absolutely delicious as well. I was informed by the staff Mikado Sushi offers a daily happy hour from 3pm-6pm. They offer a list of items that are part of the happy hour menu. We dine in on a Friday night and it was a full house! The restaurant is small but they are able to seat a good amount of people. The place was lively and the staff were friendly. We came right before the end of happy hour and were still able to order from it. The service and staff were great and attentive but the sushi was not as good as we would have liked it to be. It was the flavor and texture. WOW! This place hit every mark. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here often. I came with two girlfriends by recommendation from one who lives down the street. Parking was ample as the restaurant is situated inside of a strip mall. As soon as we walked in, we were cheerily greeted by an older Asian woman who let us pick our table. Everyone working appeared to be Asian, which is typically a sign of great things to come. And it was. Every single thing we ordered was delicious and something I would come back and have again. Everything pictured was also on happy hour, except the hamachi x hamachi roll (which was my personal favorite and totally worth paying full price for). Our bill for everything was around $105 before tip. When you order the spicy jalapeño poppers on happy hour, note that the meat that comes inside of them is chef's choice between imitation crab, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, or spicy yellowtail. Also note that the menu says the happy hour portion comes with only three pieces while the regular menu says it comes with eight, but happy hour is really six pieces (three full poppers cut in half) so it's a great deal. That one confused our group a lot, so I figured this information was helpful to share. The inside of the restaurant is quaint and inviting. In my experience, the best sushi/Asian restaurants are often the least fancy. read more

Food was amazing the Bento Box is a great way to customize your menu they also have hamachi Kama and included sashimi if you get 3 items or more! And it's pretty good cut not stingy at all. I have been going to this restaurant for years, it used to be my regular dine in spot but as time went on I started doing take out. No matter which option I choose, the sushi is always amazing and prepped with care. The staff are wonderful and treat us like family. The sushi is fresh, flavorful, and priced fairly. I love the ambiance of the restaurant with the homey feel and cozy vibe. If you want good sushi and a comfortable atmosphere definitely try this place. We were so sad when Temari Japanese Cuisine changed owners, so we had to restart our sushi hunt in the east valley. After several attempts we finally found a contender, Mikado Sushi!! The quality was amazing, the fish was fresh, and differing from Temari, they actually offer Toro!! We are so excited to finally find a replacement! In addition to the fresh nigiris, make sure to try the Hamachi Carpaccio, absolutely delicious! On top of the amazing food, the service was incredible as well. The waitress was so thoughtful and seated us away from the ac vent so our baby wouldn't be cold, then later a different staff members came over to ask if the temp was too cold for our baby! Love this little sushi place in a strip mall at Queen Creek and Alma school Road! The restaurant is decent sized with regular seating and a sushi bar. The staff and owner are so nice! The sushi is top-notch, they also have bento boxes that are very good with lots of choices and levels. And the prices are very reasonable. We love this place!! The staff was so kind to our toddlers and gave them warm smiles, chopstick trainers, and kids cups. The sushi is delish and can beat the happy hour prices! We got the STST and STC rolls. Both delicious but I'd choose the STC as my fave! We also got a spicy tuna roll which was perfectly spicy. Ask for fresh wasabi- amazing! My wife and I have been to this sushi place twice in the past two weeks since moving here. We returned because sushi was very good, well prepared, and very fresh. There are also some very interesting daily specials The first visit -mute service was ok. Crowded on a weekend The second visit the service was extremely poor. We ordered several items including two daily specials. The Restuarant was not crowded but there was a high volume of take out. After taking the order we were largely ignored. Food came sporadically, drinks never refilled. We flagged down a waiter twice to ask about food and drinks. They went back and talked with the woman that took our order she never came back. In the third waive down we asked about the final dish that had never materialized. The waiter (not our ) again went back and asked and then came back and told us they were out of the food we ordered.... We had been waiting for some time without anyone telling us. So we asked for the bill. It came with the food they were out of in the bill. It was taken back,again where there was a huddle and confusion before we got a bill without the food item. Never an apology for the wait with light communication, nothing said about our empty drink glasses. Just the bill. Ts too bad because the food is rather good. read more

This is a wonderful little place with an authentic Japanese environment and good food. The new owner is Japanese-Canadian and friendly, sometimes seen working the sushi bar during busy hours. A couple of the other staff speak some Japanese, too. I appreciate that it has more of an izakaya feel than some of the "trendy," whitewashed restaurants. It is sushi, so it's not especially cheap, but we were happy with it and have been twice now. They also have the usual sides and other dishes like ramen, yakitori, and edamame.
