Crazy Roller Coaster Dynamite Bomb

The location is easy and clean. Sushi was good but nothing to rave about. I wouldn't really go back based on the sushi alone. The menu was limited. They have all the same ingredients but reordered with different roll names. However the calamari was great! Service was attractive and helpful.

Blue Moon, Las Vegas Roll

Big rolls with amazing fish/filling to rice ratio! I got the blue moon and the blue fin tuna was very fresh. The Las Vegas roll was also nicely fried, and the layer of batter was not too thick. Reasonable pricing and good service.

Front, Sahara rainbow roll (sauce on side), middle, yellowtail nightmare roll, back, 2 spicy tuna hand rolls and baked scallop roll

My sister and I have been wanting to go here for a while because their menu has always intrigued us with the amount of roll options. We finally got to go try for lunch and it did not disappoint from what we expected ! The inside isn't huge , but there was plenty of seating available for lunch. The server was nice and attentive, and we knew she was the only one, and we still got good service! It's a nice casual spot. We ordered the sahara rainbow roll (with sauce on the side), baked scallop roll, 2 spicy tuna hand rolls , yellowtail nightmare, and for our ending we always get a fried roll and we got the jackpot roll. All of them were amazing!! The size of the rolls were generous, fish tasted good, and just overall great flavor combination. The baked scallop roll is one roll we have tried many places, and it tasted just as amazing as our other favorite place that makes it. And the jackpot roll was a perfect ending to all of it! Highly recommend trying this roll! The yellowtail nightmare had incredible flavors that all worked perfectly together. So excited we finally went and tried this place and now I can't wait to go back to try more items on the menu !

What a gem! I say that often but this place truly meets the definition. I have thought about this place every day since I've eaten here. I started with the Spicy Tuna Tartar. It was rich and creamy with a beautiful crispy from the rice cup. The Hi-5 roll was one of the best rolls I have ever had. It had a beautifully light and garlicky flavor. We also got the Happy Spoons and how appropriately named. Bites of fresh, flavorful fish with a citrusy sauce. Service was quick and courteous. A cute little spot.

For Az ... one of the freshest sushi's I have had. I love when you go in there is zero hint of a fishy smell . The staff is really nice and very helpful if you want to customize your orders. We got the sashimi plate . It had tuna, blue fin , yellowtail, ahi and salmon . And the presentation was so top notch , all for 46.00! Then we had the lobster roll sushi special . The lobster had a slight hint of char to it , the crab was real , not crab stick and the spicy sauce was so tasty and the size of the roll itself was very easy to eat. I would get it again.

Went for lunch after our old sushi place closed. The reviews don't lie, the sushi is amazing! Cute location and awesome service. We'll definitely be back!

This was my first time to Hi 5 Sushi! I'm glad we came because everything we ordered was delicious. Probably the best sushi I have had in Arizona. Everything was super fresh. My favorite was probably the toro roll. The Service was great and the vibe was perfect. I went with my family. There was alot of us but they were able to accommodate us all. I was so very surprised by the ramen. It was very flavorful! I will definitely be coming back! Perfect spot for lunch or even date night.

Bluefin

There are restaurants you enjoy, and then there are restaurants that quietly become part of your life. This is the latter. Tommy is an exceptional sushi chef in the truest sense of the word--disciplined, precise, and deeply respectful of his craft. His knife work is immaculate: clean, confident cuts that reveal a mastery you can taste before you even take a bite. Every piece is intentional. Nothing is rushed, nothing is careless. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the quality of the fish. Tommy's supply chain for bluefin--and fish more broadly--is Michelin-level without exaggeration. The bluefin and bluefin chutoro here are, quite simply, the best I've had anywhere in the United States. The balance of fat, freshness, and texture rivals top counters in far larger food cities. It's extraordinary to find this caliber of sourcing and execution in Arizona. Beyond the technical excellence, there is something deeply human about the experience. My wife and I are weekly regulars, and each visit feels less like dining out and more like being welcomed into an old friend's home for dinner. The atmosphere is warm, personal, and unpretentious--an increasingly rare quality at this level of cuisine. This is not sushi meant to impress through theatrics or trends. It impresses through restraint, confidence, and consistency. If Michelin stars were awarded purely on product quality, execution, and the soul of the experience, this restaurant would be an easy candidate. Chandler is fortunate to have it. We certainly are.

I travel the world for a living. When I come home from somewhere w/ amazing sushi (like Japan), it's really hard to eat it back in AZ... the solution is to go to Hi5. Quality ingredients, excellent staff, and the ambiance is energetic, but not over the top. Everything is great! From the ramen, to the appetizers and unique roll selections, you can't go wrong. My favorite is "That's how we roll", a fun twist on a slice of sashimi rolled around crab mix and cucumber slices topped w/ various sauces (each individual piece is different). Also helps keep my carb macros in check! I bring friends and family here. I take business partners and investor meetings here. Hi5 is always a great decision.

Came here after seeing reviews on yelp and I was very impressed! The service was quick and friendly , and the food portions were huge!!! We started out with garlic edamame and then I got the udon soup with chicken and my friends got a bunch of sushi rolls (pictured below) Ambiance was great with fun music playing. Well lit and trendy. Highly recommend

Blufin chutoro nigiri, blufin nigiri, bluemoon roll
Jessica B.

I'm going to say it: THE BEST sushi in AZ. Maybe anywhere. The staff and owner are the nicest people ever- so passionate, welcoming. The vibe? Perfect. But the sushi....oh man, the Blufin tuna is next level insane! We're here every week (and honestly, it's tempting to come everyday). If you love sushi, don't think twice-just go!

Salmon nigiri, rolls- toosie, Ebi Ebi, salmon bomber

Made another trip to Hi 5, so fresh and delicious! The music is always great and a nice chill vibe. Easily becoming one of our favorite spots. Very kind and friendly service!

Drove from central phoenix to give this spot a try and it did not disappoint. Always looking for good sushi and I'd definitely drive back here. We loved all the rolls we got but the habanero sauce on it was very spicy in my opinion so just check as you read what the rolls have. You honestly can't go wrong with anything on there and on the plus side they have a boba store right next door.

Its in a building at the edge of a strip mall so seems like plenty of parking. There's a fun light display with the logo outside the front door on the sidewalk. Inside is very cute! They've definitely made an effort on the ambiance. There's also a nice side patio that looks like it has bamboo shades to make it less "strip mall". The staff here are very warm and welcoming. Great service! Throughout our dinner and our long sitting and chatting after, our waitress was friendly, checking in and offering soda refills. We had the shrimp tempura -- really good! A friend had sushi and loved it (and comes here regularly), and the rest of us all had stir-fries, which were all very good. I ordered Mongolian beef and asked if they had chili oil and our waitress asked if I wanted it in the dish or on the side and I said both, which was no problem. This is a great neighborhood spot to enjoy a relaxed dinner (or lunch!) with friends (or yourself, whatever). It wasn't noisy and we felt very welcomed there. Food was great and its really a great option if you want sushi and others dont. They also have happy hour pricing on some of the appetizers, sushi and boba but I don't think they have alcohol. I can see why this place gets such high stars and will definitely be back.

The parking lot and restaurant were full which was a good sign. I ordered the Pork Belly Buns as an appetizer and my partner ordered the Shrimp Tempura. The ramen was extremely flavorful and the marinated egg was the perfect addition, providing a slightly sweet taste. My partner ordered the Hot Spicy Ramen which was good but wasn't a favorite. Service was great, food was delicious, and prices were fantastic. We haven't been back yet but Bloomy Kitchen is definitely a place I would recommend.

This review is long overdue…read more After drinks and bites at The Living Room on Saturday, May 6, 2017, Rachel took Allen, David and me to THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN for more alcoholic beverages. Nestled in historic downtown Chandler, in the narrow sliver of Boston Street, the speak-easy themed cocktail bar and restaurant is located inside the former home of the Chandler Arizonan, the city's original hometown newspaper since 1912. With exposed brick walls and rich wood finishes, the historic site provides an upscale, contemporary urban and industrial-chic setting. After easily finding parking in walking distance from the entrance, we arrived shortly before midnight of the 7th. They were closing soon, but we had enough time to order a round of craftly-made cocktails and beers to down quickly. It helps when your friend knows the bartender. Enter smiley face emoji here. THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN is credited for the first place that I ever tried a CLOVER CLUB, a pink, frothy cocktail with fruity, citrusy, velvety qualities. I was instantly tickled pink, literally, by the nostalgic feel of the elegant concoction, topped with artfully designed egg white foam and served in a vintage-style champagne glass. What a beauty of a drink with a touch of class and sophistication! Almost made me want to throw on a flapper dress and dance the Charleston...until I realized the need to balance from the powerful punch in the serious drink. Fancy, stiff cocktails served at THE BRICKYARD DOWNTWON fo shizz. No complaints about that here! It's been a while since I visited Arizona. Maybe it's time to return. If/when I do, I will mos def drop by THE BRICKYARD DOWNTOWN again!

I may not be able to eat sushi anywhere else after this!…read more I came for the Restaurant Week lunch deal and am so glad I finally made it here. Everything from service to ambiance to food was excellent. And I love that they brought lunch service back to this location! Friday, Saturday, Sunday only and still make a reservation! It was busy! I wanted something fun to drink but non-alcoholic, so the bartender stopped by to help me decide. I got the Miso Sour and it was so good! This had a nice balance of flavors. I started with the Hamachi Crudo which has grapefruit ponzu, lemon mayo, Serrano pepper, and thin cucumber slices. This was so good! Refreshing with just the right amount of spice. Next I enjoyed chopped salad and miso. The salad was very fresh and had a variety of goodies including edamame, purple cabbage, and avocado. The miso is so good!! It was delicate and yet so flavorful. I chose the Yuzu tuna roll option which has spicy tuna and avocado inside, with big eye tuna on top, garnished with micro cilantro, red onion, and yuzu. This was so good! I also thought their ginger stood out - I would bet they make this in house. I can see why this always has such great reviews!

My boyfriend and I came to Shimogamo for Mother's Day and ordered the five-course meal. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing compared to our previous visit. The biggest issue was the service. Our waitress, an older woman, came across as dismissive and unnecessarily rude throughout the evening. When we were seated, she offered complimentary rosé. I accepted a glass, but my boyfriend does not drink alcohol, so he politely asked if he could order a mocktail instead. Before he could even finish, she abruptly responded, "No, you can wait to place an order for that," as if he was trying to substitute the complimentary drink, which he was not. He was simply trying to order a beverage. Later, when the braised beef course was served, my boyfriend politely asked if he could have a spoon or fork. The waitress loudly repeated "A SPOON?" in a mocking tone in front of nearby guests, which made the interaction uncomfortable and embarrassing. As for the food, the five-course menu was average at best and far below what we expected from Shimogamo. The salmon tartare and sushi course were both excellent and showed the quality we remembered from our first visit. However, the remaining courses fell flat. The fried branzino was dry and seemed poorly prepared, despite the promising flavors of capers and cream sauce. The braised short rib felt completely out of place on the menu and lacked refinement it was dry, heavy, and more reminiscent of a chain steakhouse meal than an upscale dining experience. The entire dinner also felt rushed, with little attention to pacing or hospitality. What makes this especially disappointing is that we dined here back in November on a double date and had an incredible experience. We spent over $600 that evening, and the service and food were exceptional. Our waitress at that time was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. She guided us through recommendations, and every dish impressed us. That's why this visit was so surprising. Shimogamo clearly has the ability to provide an outstanding dining experience, which makes the decline in both service and execution even more concerning. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because this restaurant was once one of our favorites.
