I was looking forward to try their food but I often went to Asiana market on Monday when they are closed. Finally I made it there in the weekend and so happy with their food. Salmon curry rice is so delicious. The salmon slices are tempura-like coated go very well with the curry. The pickled ginger is to die for and help me enjoy the curry more. There are many selections of hand rolls, which are really hard to decide. The fish and seafood in the hand rolls are fresh. This is a newer place located inside Asiana food court. After shopping at Asiana, decided to check them out as I knew they were prior owners of Sushi Stop and I loved their food. I wasn't very hungry so I ordered an assorted 7 piece sushi $20- tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, sea bass, shrimp and salmon roe. It was just ok, not amazing as I remembered. I decided to try this restaurant based on a friends recommendation and it didn't disappoint! I got the Hawaiian poke and my daughter got the salmon and a hand roll. Omatase (\(お待たせ\)) is a Japanese word that means "sorry to have kept you waiting". It can be used as a polite greeting, even if you are not late.  For this great place, I would gladly wait. The owners, Mei and Jay, are the original owners of Sushi Stop. My heart is so happy to see them again! Today is their grand opening and we got some takoyaki (six pieces for $9), pork katsu with the addition of cheese ($18 + $3), and a Las Vegas maki roll (five pieces for $8). Everything tasted delicious, as always. The curry dish is easily shareable between two people. We could have gotten just the curry and it would be perfect but you know I needed a maki roll for good measure. No regrets. Sitting in the Asian food court is Omatase Japanese Kitchen! Omatase located in Asiana market food court. We didn't know what to expect ordering sashimi inside a food court, but oh man! Kobe donburi, which consisted of mixed sashimi over sushi rice was really fresh. Quality of fish was excellent as well. Only at $16, it was inexpensive. It also came with side salad. The folks from Sushi Stop sold their place and opened a new spot in Asiana. The nicest family, so go support this local owned business! Got a tonkatsu curry plate, sushi salad, and other stuff. The katsu breading is crisp and portions are huge. We also got some items from the neighboring food kitchens, Korean Kimchi chigae, and the fried chicken from third spot looked legit. Come by yourself, or choose family style and order a bunch of tasty things, both are guaranteed winning game plans. Take out window, food court style dining. This is a great spot to eat!!! For anyone who loved Sushi Stop before they went under new ownership, the original owners moved to Asiana food court and are doling out the same quality and care as their old restaurant. Please don't let the food court concept turn you off. Omatase Japanese Kitchen continues to shine as a hidden gem. Just like their old restaurant, they mainly excel in sushi. Omatase gives VERY generous portion sizing for their rolls. In fact, their rolls are so big that most people will have to take two bites. If you want quality fish, good value, and very filling portions, their rolls are the way to go. However, if you mainly want great fish with generous slices, their nigiri is a fantastic option and my partner's personal favorite. Omatase has expanded their menu to include other dishes besides sushi as their focus. I personally love their udon. The broth is so rich and comforting. Their curry katsu sizing is massive. I do wish they gave a bit more katsu. You'll mainly end up with tons of curry. It'll be to the point you likely will want more rice if you have leftovers. The ramen is serviceable, but you may want to go to a more dedicated ramen spot for that instead. Service as always is kind and swift. Their space is always immaculately clean. Some of the things they could improve is their menu presentation. It's rather chaotic. I'm also not a fan of the AI generated images of food that's not what they've made. As they are a small family owned business, sometimes their actual operating hours may not reflect when they're truly open. Life happens though. Overall, I recommend Omatase especially for their nigiri. It will impress and stand out especially compared to other spots in the area. read more

I heard about this place from a Foodie group on Facebook and was curious to see if it lived up to the hype. I took my mom and my husband and we found out it definitely lived up to any praise it was given! Since it's deathly hot now, we ordered some nice, refreshing sushi and some absolutely delicious appetizers. Their menu is pretty extensive so it was hard to decide on what to actually order, but we finally decided on the Hokkaido bowl with Scallops - plump little morsels of sweetness with little pops of brininess from the masago and refreshing crunch from the assorted pickles, the sashimi salad - with tuna, salmon, albacore, shrimp, crab, and spicy tuna on a bed of fresh greens and a delightful ginger soy dressing for a bite that changed with every forkful, and the Kobe donburi with assorted sashimi - tuna, salmon, yellowtail, albacore, and shrimp on a bed of rice with those same yummy pickles. All 3 of the mains hit the spot and we were super impressed with the freshness of the fish! For the appetizers (because we're little piggies), we ordered the crab & cream croquette - so crunchy and yet sweetly creamy, the mixed tempura - crisp and light fried veggies and shrimp, and the takoyaki - the only not perfectly on point item - a little mushier than I prefer. I debated between the udon and ramen and thought you can't really go wrong with ramen. I was highly disappointed in the tonkatsu ramen. The toasted garlic did add some flavor but overall the first taste left my decision regrettable. The chashu pork was bland like they just boiled it and threw it in the soup. I hope their other dishes are much better and I will probably try it one day. I think the ramen I had was comparable to a packet ramen but 20x more expensive. read more
