    Fruit Boba Green Tea
    Aja H.

Stopped in with some co-workers for lunch. We were seated quickly. The staff were very friendly. I ordered the hibachi combo and green tea peach boba. Everything was good. The hibachi had really good flavor. Not to mention, the serving size for lunch was perfect. The boba tea was a little too sweet for my liking. However, there was just enough boba. All in all, I'd come back and try something different.

Delicious ramen open late! I got the miso ramen and it was tasty. The broth was rich and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The service was great and my food came out in a timely manner. There is a good amount of seating and parking available as well. A must try!

This is an all-around solid location for ramen. I give it four stars because the broth, noodles, and toppings weren't the best of what I've tried compared to other locations but they were all decent making a well-rounded ramen bowl. They are also quite reasonably priced for the portion, which I appreciate. I did really enjoy their takoyaki, I really like the crunchier outer layer and the chunks of octopus, the sauces were spot on. As someone who had many takoyaki in Japan, I would order this dish from here again. Also kudos to their iced fruit tea, I was expecting something subtle tasting like flavored water but it was nice and strong and sweet like honey tea. At time of writing, it's complementary with lunch! Lastly, they have a bumping playlist :) It's a great spot to go to, we came here before heading to the nearby movie theater. Hope this helps!

Teriyaki Hibachi Combo with lots of veggies shrimp, steak and chicken

Picked up takeout and was greeted by a very friendly lady who offered me a glass of refreshing, fresh fruit tea. Ordered Teriyaki Hibachi Combo with lots of veggies shrimp, steak and chicken with fried rice. Excellent flavor. I recommend!

Service was phenomenal!! Our waitress was amazing! Very attentive and helpful with the menu items. Overall personally I thought the broths and noodles were okay. The appetizers were good though! We got the Takoyaki and Geso Yaki. The Takoyaki had big pieces of octopus. The Chow's Special Ramen broth was the best one out of all the broths. The curry ramen was very watery. The restaurant was very clean!

A great ramen place, probably one of my top in my list! I've been here before and it's always been good. Thai tea is yummy, it's very sweet(we got with no ice nor boba). Curry ramen has a really great broth and the Takoyaki is super tender and fried. The server was super nice and helpful. We love the atmosphere inside and they have really great chopsticks! I'd keep them and reuse!! #sustainability

I hate these 3 star posts I really do, but there I am. For the record I'm still searching for amazing ramen in the Phoenix valley. I have been striking out. This place was on the way home and had 4.6 stars so we said let's try it! We called in our order and the employee in the phone was very nice. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, we also ordered some steamed dumplings for the kids. The restaurant is in a strip mall and when I walked In it was very clean, modern, and had a lot of people in it. As I walked to the front the food looked good. I was excited. The Togo order was packaged well, and was still very hot by the time we got home. I opened up the ramen and this is when red flags started to go up. I have no idea why local area ramen places do not use RAMEN NOODLES!! They can call these "straight ramen noodles" but in reality this is thin spaghetti noodles. These noodles were soggy, no chew, no flavor, just straight up Italian pasta noodles. So so disappointing. Even an instant ramen noodle would be a 100000% improvement over these, but no, we get this. The broth was ok, wasn't great. It was thin and watery with no viscosity. Didn't coat the noodles and just sat at the bottom of the bowl. It was salty and had a little pork flavor but nothing amazing. I couldn't tell you if it was an instant broth or if it was homemade, but it was lacking. The Chasu was actually pretty good, it was fatty, lightly crisp, but moist on the inside, and had good flavor, it had a slight five spice flavor which was nice but unexpected. The egg was pretty good as well. Overall I will be passing this place without stopping which is sad. The hunt continues for an amazing ramen spot that uses actual ramen noodles ‍

Great little Raman restaurant, they have Raman, boba, chow ming, fried rice and hamachi dishes. They have pretty good Raman,l for the price, a lot of them are about 13$ which is pretty cheap. The service is fast and they are nice! The place is a small little restaurant which lots of tables for seating and it's nice and neat.

The ramen is on the other side.

Ramen was delicious and beautiful. The owner was probably doing it all - server and cook - but he is warm and friendly. Please check this place out. Support a small local business.

Rice, Chicken, Shrimp, Steak and veggies!

Wow! I ordered the Hibachi combo plate and Thai tea with Boba. So so delicious. I'm not even a steak eater but I may have been converted. I've never had tender melt in your mouth food like this. I left feeling like I may have developed a Hibachi addiction. Food was on point! Service was on point! Ambiance nice and clean! Good music Fantastic experience.

Started eating before I took the photo.

Cute little shop that has vibes of a hibachi restaurant back home. Got the combination plate. (Steak, Chicken, Shrimp) Decent portion size. Sauce was very flavorful. For someone who isn't a veggie eater, the sauce complimented very well with the veggies served. Great service. Quick in and out with a satisfying meal.

    8. Vegan Ramen
    Kassie L.

Ordered take out for lunch online. Ordering system worked well and I got a text to pick up when it was ready. The vegan ramen was excellent. Probably the best vegan/vegetarian broth I've had from nearby options. Spring rolls were also very solid. The interior is small but cute and clean though they have really overpowering air fresheners. It's really unusual to encounter this in food establishments as it interferes with taste for people who are dining in. As someone with a fragrance allergy, I would never be able to pop in to Chow's for more than a second to grab takeout.

    2. Tonkotsu Ramen
    Cassidy C.

Amazing service, super great food, and cozy atmosphere! We ordered the gyoza and edamame appetizers which were delicious. Then followed up with the Steak Hibachi and Tonkatsu Ramen for dinner! I had the ramen and it was phenomenal! This was honestly my first time trying ramen like this anywhere so thank you for the amazing experience!

I may not be able to eat sushi anywhere else after this!…read more I came for the Restaurant Week lunch deal and am so glad I finally made it here. Everything from service to ambiance to food was excellent. And I love that they brought lunch service back to this location! Friday, Saturday, Sunday only and still make a reservation! It was busy! I wanted something fun to drink but non-alcoholic, so the bartender stopped by to help me decide. I got the Miso Sour and it was so good! This had a nice balance of flavors. I started with the Hamachi Crudo which has grapefruit ponzu, lemon mayo, Serrano pepper, and thin cucumber slices. This was so good! Refreshing with just the right amount of spice. Next I enjoyed chopped salad and miso. The salad was very fresh and had a variety of goodies including edamame, purple cabbage, and avocado. The miso is so good!! It was delicate and yet so flavorful. I chose the Yuzu tuna roll option which has spicy tuna and avocado inside, with big eye tuna on top, garnished with micro cilantro, red onion, and yuzu. This was so good! I also thought their ginger stood out - I would bet they make this in house. I can see why this always has such great reviews!

My boyfriend and I came to Shimogamo for Mother's Day and ordered the five-course meal. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing compared to our previous visit. The biggest issue was the service. Our waitress, an older woman, came across as dismissive and unnecessarily rude throughout the evening. When we were seated, she offered complimentary rosé. I accepted a glass, but my boyfriend does not drink alcohol, so he politely asked if he could order a mocktail instead. Before he could even finish, she abruptly responded, "No, you can wait to place an order for that," as if he was trying to substitute the complimentary drink, which he was not. He was simply trying to order a beverage. Later, when the braised beef course was served, my boyfriend politely asked if he could have a spoon or fork. The waitress loudly repeated "A SPOON?" in a mocking tone in front of nearby guests, which made the interaction uncomfortable and embarrassing. As for the food, the five-course menu was average at best and far below what we expected from Shimogamo. The salmon tartare and sushi course were both excellent and showed the quality we remembered from our first visit. However, the remaining courses fell flat. The fried branzino was dry and seemed poorly prepared, despite the promising flavors of capers and cream sauce. The braised short rib felt completely out of place on the menu and lacked refinement it was dry, heavy, and more reminiscent of a chain steakhouse meal than an upscale dining experience. The entire dinner also felt rushed, with little attention to pacing or hospitality. What makes this especially disappointing is that we dined here back in November on a double date and had an incredible experience. We spent over $600 that evening, and the service and food were exceptional. Our waitress at that time was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu. She guided us through recommendations, and every dish impressed us. That's why this visit was so surprising. Shimogamo clearly has the ability to provide an outstanding dining experience, which makes the decline in both service and execution even more concerning. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because this restaurant was once one of our favorites.

Definitely liked the sushi-licious platter more than the classic, since the classic included avocado and cucumber rolls, which are a little too basic for my liking because they just contain rice and cucumber/avocado. My favorite was the volcano roll included in the sushi-licious platter. Great portion size for the price (~$11). The chicken teriyaki bowl was more salty than sweet and included lots of mushrooms as well. Not my favorite chicken teriyaki but still tasty if you're in the mood for it.
