This place is a solid pick if you want more than just sushi. We started with the Holy Tuna Popper, which turned out to be more than a regular popper since it's actually filled with tuna, and the Citrus Yellowtail was a refreshing way to kick things off. The Beef Skewer was a good bite too if you're leaning toward the grill side of the menu. For rolls, the Alaskan Roll and the Ocean Spicy Crazy Maki Roll were both standouts, easily some of our favorites of the night. We also got the Sashimi Bento Box, which came with a lot of variety and was a great way to try a bit of everything. The Ika Maru, their grilled squid, was another highlight and cooked really well. Service was great too, our server was friendly and gave solid recommendations on what to order. The restaurant itself is a good size and comfortable, plenty of seating, bright with windows all around, and parking was easy to find. It's a great spot if half your table wants sushi and the other half wants something cooked or grilled, the menu covers both sides without feeling stretched thin. Would come back and work through more of the menu.

3.8 Stars Oceans Sushi Grill We stopped in for sushi and overall had a pretty decent experience, although there were a couple of things that definitely stood out. The atmosphere was good and the vibe was energetic. It's not a huge restaurant, but even though it was busy, the seating was comfortable. Our server was a very nice young lady with a pleasant personality, which always makes a difference. We started with drinks and ordered a couple of Sprites. This is where things took a turn. The Sprites came in cans, the same cans you can buy at the grocery store, and they were $3.50 each. I asked about refills and was told they don't have a fountain machine, so there are no refills. For us, this was a pretty big disappointment. We drink a lot of soda, and spending $3.50 for a can with no refill option isn't exactly ideal, especially when the cans came out warm. I understand not every restaurant has a fountain machine, but at that price, I expected something a little different. We decided to push forward and see what the food had to offer. We ordered regular edamame to start. It was lightly salted and pretty decent. Nothing extraordinary, but no complaints either. For sushi, we ordered three rolls: California, Volcano, and Oh My God. The California Roll was tightly wrapped, maybe a little too tightly. The pieces were stuck together and wanted to fall apart when we separated them. It could have been the humidity inside the restaurant. The flavor was decent but a little bland on its own. Once dipped in soy sauce, though, it definitely came to life. The Volcano Roll was nicely presented and had a good flavor. It had a nice crunch with some spice, and the roll itself was put together much better than the California. Then came the Oh My God Roll, which was easily my favorite. It was nicely assembled with a cream cheese center, and combined with the soy sauce, it was savory and really flavorful. This was the roll that actually lived up to its name. "Oh my God, that's delicious!" Overall, the food was decent, the atmosphere was enjoyable, and our server was great. The Oh My God Roll was definitely the standout of the meal. My biggest complaint is the soda situation. $3.50 for a warm can of soda with no refills is a tough pill to swallow, especially when you're already spending $17-$20 on sushi rolls. Overall rating: 3.8/5 If canned soda at $3.50 doesn't bother you, I'd definitely say give Oceans Sushi Grill a try. The sushi was good, the atmosphere was lively, and there are some rolls worth checking out. Just be prepared to keep an eye on that soda tab!

Grand opening-Delicious sushi-compliment the chef /itamae good! First time I've had fresh wasabi (not paste tho that is an option), it was amazing!! Quick pleasant service in a nicely decorated but typically sushi style restaurant. Prices are good. We had the dragon roll, shrimp tempura roll, and a crunch California roll.

LOVE the decor and ambiance of this new place. Heads and tails above most other sushi spots in the area. Yellowtail roll, fried rice and udon noodles were delicious! Hoping they start a happy hour eventually as the prices are quite a bit more than places I usually go. Servers were very sweet and attentive. Looking forward to next visit! Please look into offering NA beer options.

The food here was excellent and the portions were way bigger than I expected for the price. Our…read moreserver was great and really helped us figure out what to order since there were a lot of options on the menu. She was super attentive too and kept refilling our drinks throughout the meal. We tried a mix of specialty rolls and more basic rolls. Most of the specialty rolls were around $15 each, while the basic rolls were under $10. The spicy tuna rolls were especially good for the price because they were cheap, but still came out huge. Overall the portions were very generous and the prices weren't bad at all. I got the Hell Fire roll and it definitely lived up to the name. I handle spicy food really well and even for me this thing was extremely spicy. It was almost painfully hot, but honestly I kind of enjoyed the challenge, It was also really good besides just being spicy, so I'd definitely get it again. The inside also had a cool vibe with all the colorful lighting and it wasn't too busy when we went which was nice. Most of our sushi came out almost immediately. The fried rolls understandably took a little longer since they had to be made fresh. My only small complaint is I wish everything would of came out closer to the same time, because some of us already had food while we were still waiting on the fried rolls. Overall, really good food, huge portions, fair prices and great service, definitely a spot I'd come back to.

Now the menu has been consolidated to mainly Japanese and Chinese fare and they've seemed to streamline their service efficiently. The food tasted great. They were so nice, and even offered my kids a refill of their lemonade on their way out. Decor is still incredible inside, great place for both a nice meal at reasonable price for value - these were the largest avacado rolls my kids have ever seen, which they loved the lunch there this time! Will be back soon!

I highly recommend visiting during their happy hour, which is M-F till 5 and Saturday and Sunday till 4. The prices are insane on their food. The beverages aren't much of a deal, but we come here for the food not the drinks. Their house made iced tea is on the happy hour list and it is quite good, but expect to pay normal prices on beer, wine, and saki. Every roll we have had has been good and I would order again. We also enjoy their miso soup, edamame, and potstickers. Pros: *Amazing happy hour *Delicious food *Nice Atmosphere *Beautiful presentation and tableware Cons: *Disappointing when you miss happy hour haha *Staff are responsive and attentive but not too friendly *No good drink specials

It's located on the southwest corner of Gilbert and Queen Creek. They have a nicely lit sign to easily find the place at night. The interior was a little smaller than I anticipated, but it was clean and spacious. There's a bar in the back for counter-top service. Our server was very friendly and prompt. We decided to split 3 rolls- spicy tuna, sweet potato and crazy salmon. They were all quite tasty and it was just enough food for a decent price. I didn't see any really adventurous rolls on menu so if you're looking for unique items you may want to inquire when dining here. They have ramen and a few non-sushi dishes on the menu if sushi isn't your thing. Overall this is a good option for a more casual sushi environment in southern Gilbert. Thanks Shinme for the nice dining experience.
