Shinme Sushi is a newer Japanese restaurant located in a well-established plaza in South Gilbert. I drive past it almost every day, so I decided to pop in for a quick lunch. The atmosphere is very minimalistic and the restaurant appeared very clean. Our server was incredibly soft-spoken but very kind and attentive. Every food dish we ordered was hot and came out quickly. The Gyoza were the only things we wouldn't get again, they tasted very TJ's freezer-aisle-ish. Everything else was very good, the Baked Scallop roll was fresh and the Teriyaki Chicken Entree was surprisingly crispy. Even the Dirty Milk Tea was good. Taking off a star because we heard/saw them microwave our Gyoza. Everything else seemed fresh, the sushi chef's were making the rolls traditionally. Not a bad lunch.
Yum this place was great with really Awesome staff. Everything came out very prompt and the place was clean and smelt fresh. Only thing is I he prices seemed a bit high for what I was expecting
The spicy tuna roll tasted and smelled off. I did eat 2 pieces of the roll before I decided I wasn't hungry enough for the risk and so far I'm not sick. That being said I don't feel the fish is fresh and I won't return. Also I've never seen such a stingy amount of fish in the roll. Be prepared to pay for inedible sushi as "this tastes off" will bring an offer for more sushi, I declined a replacement role. The place was deserted at noon on a Saturday and another table actually sat and left without ordering. The waitress was fast but the other pair had better instincts than me! Also hip hop music really gave the place a weird ambiance for sushi.
This place did a revamp with new menu and drinks! What happened to all the original things on the menu? They have added milk tea with boba and Korean fried chicken, lots of ramen options. I am sorry but the new menu didn't fit the bill. We tried their kfc rice bowl, oh my gawd it was awful, the sauces the chicken, pretty bad. We also tried their udon ramen, it was salty and had no flavors what's so ever. This was our cute hidden spot and were a regular, but they just took away the essence. We miss the old version! We were not happy with the lunch, I wish we could return and get a refund, just kidding! I hope the sushi still tastes the same!
This was not good sushi at all (we ordered a lot of traditional rolls), but some of the cooked fusion dishes were ok, like the Jalapeño boat, and the tempura was average. Overall, it was very disappointing food and I wouldn't go back there - that feeling when you've tried so many things on the menu and it's all the same sloppy standard. The waitress was nice and friendly, and it wasn't busy so everything was good in that way, until the end (read below). The sushi was sloppily put together, falling apart and not evenly presented with the ingredients. The ratio of the rolls was always very rice-dominated and very limited with the main ingredients, another negative. We asked for an additional roll at the end and asked if they had a simple eel and cucumber roll on the menu, and they charged this like a custom roll at $10, more than the others on the menu, no big deal, but was a little strange that it became a "special" request without telling us. At the end, I was given a check and handed them my card. The amount they charged my card and brought back to my table was around $10 more, with no explanation, and they left it on my table for me to sign. I didn't know why the amounts didn't match between my check and the card charge, and I couldn't get the attention of any staff to ask. So I had to get up and go find the waitress to ask why the amount she charged was higher than the bill, and then she said it's because the first bill she gave me was missing some soft drinks at around $10. Fine, but why did she not explain any of this when handing me the receipt to sign? I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this place missed the mark on many fronts, and clearly needs to make more of an effort.....I don't know, maybe it was just a very "off" night, but I won't be going back to find out. Unfortunately, not recommended, I think a 2-star review is generous....
We stopped in tonight between errands for just a quick bite to eat. First off I actually love the look of this place! I just feels really open and comfortable and it was very clean. There was just a few people there when we went in around 6 PM on a Wednesday. I love that they have so many options sushi, Korean bowls and boba. I wanted to try so many things, but we settled on just four items: started with the house salad with ginger dressing, which was small but good, followed by the cream cheese wontons and pork Gyoza. Didn't really love the wontons, something about them that just seemed different than ones that I've had before so we actually didn't eat them. Vicky was great and our roll, just the basic crunchy crab delight was delicious. The service was good and everything was reasonably priced, and aside from the crab puffs, we were happy with our meal. We will for sure be back again!
One of my favorite sushi places:) sashimi is so fresh and the server is so sweet and friendly. She always welcomes me and my family with a smile! The music in the background is so peaceful. I come here every time I crave sushi
We ordered through DoorDash for takeout and this place looked great at first. There was a lot of good food on the menu or it sounded good. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll ($8.50), Sunshine Roll ($19.50), Fuji Roll ($19.50), and Yellow Mango Roll ($14). This place, like other restaurants, didn't always update DoorDash to let you know when the food was done. When we came to pick up the food, it was sitting outside for a long time. The Spicy Tuna Roll was decent, the Sunshine Roll was not bad, the Fuji Roll was okay, and the Yellow Mango Roll was okay as well. The food tasted fresh so that was good at least. I thought the prices of the Sunshine Roll and Fuji Roll were a little high for what we got, but that's what I thought. Overall, Shinme Sushi was okay to me for sushi.
The place where we usually go for Sushi wasn't open for lunch on Saturday so we found this place nearby and decided to give it a try. It's just your average sushi place located in a small strip mall. Service was great. The sushi however was just okay.
A great little hidden gem! They now have Korean fried chicken! The sushi is pretty good, the Korean fried chicken is not bad at all, and I actually love the fried rice. They have boba drinks as well as ramen and even bulgogi and kfc burritos. It's nice to have all of this in one spot in the south chandler area.
Oh how I love this place! They are absolutely delicious and the deals during happy hour cannot be beat. The atmosphere is also wonderful and relaxing. We never leave Shinme hungry. I highly recommend visiting during their happy hour, which is M-F till 5 and Saturday and Sunday till 4. The prices are insane on their food. The beverages aren't much of a deal, but we come here for the food not the drinks. Their house made iced tea is on the happy hour list and it is quite good, but expect to pay normal prices on beer, wine, and saki. Every roll we have had has been good and I would order again. We also enjoy their miso soup, edamame, and potstickers. My wife and I were craving some quick sushi on a Sunday night. Shinme Sushi is about a mile away from our house and we've never been here so we wanted to check the place out. It's located on the southwest corner of Gilbert and Queen Creek. They have a nicely lit sign to easily find the place at night. The interior was a little smaller than I anticipated, but it was clean and spacious. There's a bar in the back for counter-top service. Our server was very friendly and prompt. We decided to split 3 rolls- spicy tuna, sweet potato and crazy salmon. They were all quite tasty and it was just enough food for a decent price. I didn't see any really adventurous rolls on menu so if you're looking for unique items you may want to inquire when dining here. They have ramen and a few non-sushi dishes on the menu if sushi isn't your thing. Overall this is a good option for a more casual sushi environment in southern Gilbert. It was a good lunch break, but nothing exceptional. Part of that is on me as I choose to get something from the lunch menu specials, which were pretty generic. There are other items on the menu, but I was looking for a good deal that would have me return. The staff on hand was nice and very attentive. The price point was reasonable, but I needed a signature "thing" to have me return. They had options to upgrade, but I was trying to keep it simple. I'm sure if I did, the meal would have been better, but it came with an additional cost. I went with Option C: Roll Special which included 2 rolls for $10.75. I picked the California and Eel Cucumber Rolls. They were good, but nothing exciting. I should have upgraded to the Vegas or Killer. I will plan to return with the intent not to order from the lunch menu. They do have some other appealing things that I will consider and I think there is potential here. Some reported changes as of recent from what they previously experienced. I can see it, so hopefully they can provide that signature experience to keep people returning. read more

It's was okay at most. We got the bulgogi fries, the salmon lover, Las Vegas roll and the Korean fried chicken with sauce on side. The place is super pricy for the quality of food you are getting. The Korean fried chicken was questionable it was boneless and chicken was oddly pink so it made me second guess to take another bite. You have a choice of 2 sauces which is garlic soy and the spicy one. The Las Vegas roll was disappointing all I could taste was the rice. The bulgogi fries were the best dish in our whole order. Service was fine we came in around 3:30pm and the place was pretty spacious and the music was calming. For the price and quality of food I was deeply disappointed. read more

We came in just after cutoff from the "early bird" specials, which somewhat explains the almost empty restaurant. There were a few other diners finishing up their orders or meals and a few take out orders. Wife was a bit skeptical on quality, given the lack of patrons. I assured her that the reviews, while minimal; are mostly positive. Food: Not bad, but not good either. A lot of sauce to mask the taste of the fish. I had the sushi dinner; which comes with soup and salad. Well, got the soup and then the rolls started coming and my platter. No salad. Flagged down the waitress and asked. She said "Its coming". Then proceeded to make the small salad and drop it off. Did she just forget? Then admit it. Salad should arrive before, not after the sushi. Overall decent. Nigiri sushi should have a bit of wasabi between the rice and fish: I checked, none here! After dropping about $120 here, not worth it. Service: One waitress in the whole place to serve and bus tables. So basically we had no service. Never checked on us, never refilled drinks. No service provided aside from dropping off the orders. Overall: Wife prefers Sushi Neko, which I feel still lags far behind the better options in Scottsdale. Can't seem to find a good option in East Valley; the search continues. read more

Lots of good special rolls to choose from. Everything was delicious. Service was a bit off. Looks like they have a booming take out business so that hurts the dine in service. But we enjoyed everything and look forward to coming back. read more

This is a tough one because if it wasn't for one horrible employee they would have five stars from me! We have had wonderful times here when this woman isn't working however when she is... well that's a whole other story I really wish I got her name the many times she's treated us like absolute SH*T but I keep hoping she goes away. She's really ruining this great spot for us. Which sucks because everyone else who works there has been so sweet and wonderful. On another note.. we have had amazing sushi here and we absolutely love the happy hour! Where else can you get items for $1 including beers! Typically even if they're out of the $1 Sapporo Beer then they even find a substitute;) The Killer Shrimp Roll might be the best we have ever had and even the cheaper rolls are really good as well! We also the love the mango roll that's the perfect combination of sweet and spicy!! We have had most things on happy hour and have loved it all for the most part! We'll see if we find our way back... there's nothing worse than feeling like you're not being treated kindly off the bat just when you're walking in. There's always one bad apple in the read more

It was a new restaurant, and I drove about 20 minutes, ordering takeout sushi for myself. The service was very good She give me one more extra spicy mayo sauce. Sweet! and the environment was clean. I didn't wait long to get my sushi. What i order is call shrimp killer roll(8pc) . include with shrimp tempura, cooked shrimps and avocado. and i like spicy mayo but the wasabi mayo which is the original sauce is much better for this sushi! it's so fresh and the tempura is so crunchy, the avocado make the whole roll much flavorful! The roll is finger- licking good! Shrimp is always so appetizing . I really recommend you guys try this sushi. I'm already looking forward to the next time ！ read more
