Decided to randomly do take out. It was a pleasant experience. And the food was good. The food was ready on time and I even got an email letting me know it's ready Important to grab right away because sitting in the sauce/juices can make things soggy like the vegetables (if that bothers you) Arriving on a Sunday around 6pm, it was pretty crowded for dine in. Parking lot was pretty full but easy to find and get other parking. I was fretted right away and kindly. Everything was packed carefully. I will definitely give another try and especially dine in

I have made it a tradition to go here during my birthday week to start the celebrations and its always a great experience with delicious food! I usually get the filet and lobster and it doesnt disappoint! They are consistent, great atmosphere, fun experience with a wonderful staff.

I went in yesterday on my Birthday 9/17 my kids wanted to treat me to dinner, they both worked late they closed at 10pm we got there at 9:20 were able able to walk in for them to turn us away telling us they were closed. Makes no sense if you were still open until 10pm turning customers away is very bad customer service! I used to love eating here and now will never go back!

Food is always great, especially when considering granddaughter who has celiac disease. Never a problem segmenting the cooking to protect her. Last night Emmry, waitress and Alex, chef were exceptional! Sophia and Sky, hostesses were pleasant and welcome. We go to Osaka for every BD celebration and thoroughly enjoy the Birthday celebrations!! Thank you.

We went for lunch and didn't realize that you don't get the teppanyaki experience for lunch. I still ordered chicken and shrimp and I was super disappointed. The chicken was tasteless and had the texture of boiled chicken. The shrimp was okay but not much seasoning. None of the food had any char on it. My husband ordered sushi and the rolls were huge.

We came here for my mother in law's birthday. With reservations, we still had to wait 20 minutes to be seated so it did take awhile. However, our server was attentive and provided great service. I got the sashimi plate and it was fresh and tasty. The rest of the table got the teppanyaki and everyone enjoyed their food. My kids loved their lemonade "shot" from the chef. It's a fun ambiance and everyone seemed to be celebrating their birthday's!

Always our favorite habachi place to go with my daughter, fun, good people good food, we always get the chicken and steak to share. And we end up sooo full. My daughter always spends her birthday here, lots of birthdays going on every day. Great ambiance and place all around, the girls are very accommodating even if you are just walking in

People were very nice. The cook was very good. The food was so good. I would go back again.

This is the newer Osaka location. It has a smaller dining area side for the sushi part of the restaurant compared to the Teppanyaki grill. This is a smaller location than the original location out in Mesa. They do have great deals on sushi and happy hour and it is one of my favorites in town For a Sunday Happy hour sushi spot. I love their crunchy sweet potato roll as well as the rock shrimp and the crazy world that you can get unhappy hour. Great deals on drinks and sushi always love coming here for a quick treat. This is a frequent spot for birthday celebrations and you can often hear them singing their classic birthday song on the Teppanyaki girls side. People always appear to be having so much fun and it really brings the family vibe and energy to life.

L-R: Citrus roll, Ocean roll and Tequila. All from HH menu!

We used to love coming here since it opened. Not sure what happened. The last time we were here was in July of 2025, the selections plentiful. Tonight might be the last time we dine here. Food is just not the same. Service was ok, the girl at the front was on the phone when we arrived and she was not too pleasant. Understandably fine as she was on the phone. We were seated immediately and service was ok. Nothing about our experience and food was notable.

Not a bad place to go. It was a date night without the wife. I thought it was funny when the server couldn't get the plates right as who got what appetizers when they came out. Just a small training issue. Don't get me wrong the servers were great. The one thing I didn't like is when the cooking was done the servers appeared to be rushing us out of there to turn the table. The food just was ok, nothing stood out then any other hibachi.

Teppanyaki with steak, chicken, vegetables, shrimp under the cover and the flaming onion volcano.

It was a fun experience. The chef was funny and the server was friendly and professional. The steak, chicken and shrimp and sushi were very good. It was my friend's birthday and they gave her a Tiramisu cake with a sparkler. They also banged the drum and everybody in the restaurant sang "Happy Birthday"! Also, children under 55" are eligible for child prices.

Wondering where I can find the cake you serve? Wanting to purchase a box.

Is there booth seating?

Yes

Are you able to bring your own cake?

Not sure, but will say that they give you free bite sized pieces of cake with a huge sparkle candle! It's pretty good cake and they bring enough for the entire group.

Do you take reservations? How do we make reservations?

Yes they take reservations but you have to call. The website looks like they take reservations but they stopped that a couple of years ago.

What time does the lunch menu apply?

Lunch menu apply on Monday - Friday 11am to 2:30pm

Are there gluten free options?

Yes, there’s gluten free sushi, teriyaki entree and teppan entree.

What time is the happy hour?

M-F 2:30-6 Sat/Sun 11:30-6

Is there a kids menu? We are taking our nephew there tomorrow for his birthday.... but our little ones are picky. Thanks!

Yes. They have steak, chicken, shrimp, and fried rice on the kids menu.

We arrived a little early, so they told us we could sit at the bar & have a drink. We sat there for 15+ minutes & the girl getting things ready for the bar totally ignored us. Right before we were seated someone else took our drink order & said she'd bring them to the table. Hubby got a beer & I got a Tito's & cranberry juice. We ordered an appetizer. While we were waiting they sat another 4 with us. We all expected dinner & a "show", but none of us expected the show we got. One of the staff started screaming at another staff member. We had no idea what the female staff member was saying since her words were not in English. She was so loud & screaming in the bar area so the entire restaurant could hear her. A couple of staff members tried to claim her dow. This went on for several minutes. It was crazy. All us customers were silent & just looking at the girl screaming & yelling. The next thing we know, round two. It was unbelievable. What was even crazier was they didn't send the staff member home! No one came over & said a word. No one apologized or said anything. After all of this, they sat couple with us. Finally the chef came to the table. By this time it was 20 til 6:00. Hubby got the filet with fried rice. I got the shrimp with fried rice. The food was good. However, hubby's steak was over cooked. Thankfully, hubby told the chef he wanted to change the steak from medium to medium rare, or it would have been even more over cooked. I also watch all of the employees but one prepping the food without gloves. This used to be our go to place for, but now with all this issues this time, we will probably have to find a new place.

Wasn't crowded at all for the dinner area but the bar was packed. They have happy hour. By 6 pm it was full and packed everywhere. Parking is plentiful. We did the chicken shrimp and the New York strip. The mushroom soup is very delicious, the salad dressing felt like it was missing something. The rice was phenomenal so yummy and full of flavor. I like their ginger seafood dipping sauce, but I absolutely cannot stand Dijon taste, and that's what they use for their meat, a mustard sauce. I really wish there was an alternative. The meat seemed to be cooked well and the steak to my boyfriend's liking, flavor was good. We got Lucky to try a sample of the Seabass and holy moly!!! literally melting butter in your mouth! Definitely regretful for our choices and next time we come in, it's Seabass all the way no fishy taste, again just melts in your mouth I wasn't in the mood for the pineapple Dole Ice Cream a bit sweet but definitely can be refreshing from the heat. I got their salmon sushi, and it was good and a decent cut (5$ each on happy hour) My boyfriend got their Japanese whiskey and he enjoyed it. He just said there was a lot of ice. There was one open seat at our table, and I couldn't imagine squeezing another person in. there was even a child sitting at our table and it still felt like we were on top of each other. Not much room at all with your drinks, appetizers, and dinner plates. The show the cook put on was fun and entertaining. Service was very friendly and attentive.

We came on a weekday afternoon, so it wasn't busy when we arrived. We got seated within the 10 minutes since they were setting up the tables for us. Ordering is fairly easy since they offer combos depending which meats you like more. Everything we ordered was good quality. My favorite meat cuts were the beef tongue, brisket and the intestines. If you're not into eating inside parts of animals, I would recommend getting the brisket or kalbi cuts. The Banchan (sides) were good too. They had fish cake, kimchi, pickled radish and cucumbers available. We also tried the tofu soup, steamed egg and corn cheese which all came out hot and tasted flavorful. This spot is a-la-carte, so you order off the menu and pay by items. My only downside is that they didn't have rice paper here since I don't really eat the white rice since it fills me up too quickly. Other than that, I would come back here again next time I'm visiting family. Service here was awesome too! We were checked on throughout our whole meal and the servers were friendly.

Lunch Had a Rough Start…read more I visited Benihana in Chandler on a Tuesday around lunchtime. Parking was easy, with plenty of front-row spaces available in the large parking lot. The restaurant was fairly empty, with no more than 15 people dining, so I expected a relaxed and enjoyable lunch experience. Unfortunately, things got off to a rocky start. The hostess seated us, and our server came by to take our drink order. The water had an unusual taste, so I asked for a lemon to make it more palatable. I wondered whether the water was filtered properly. I also ordered a Sprite. The salad arrived with ginger dressing, and the lettuce was nice and crisp. However, there was so much dressing that it drenched the small salad. Next time, I would definitely ask for the dressing on the side. Then came another surprise. The chef informed us that the cooking surface wasn't on and would need 15-25 minutes to heat up. As an apology, we were offered a complimentary appetizer, and I chose the gyoza. Unfortunately, they were served lukewarm to nearly cold. At this point, the experience was already off to a disappointing start, and I didn't feel like complaining about every issue. Once the cooking surface was finally ready, the chef came out to prepare our meal. The performance was mediocre compared to what I have experienced from Benihana's signature hibachi experience. He seemed to be having an off day and even had to borrow a lighter because he didn't have one available. I understand that there were only three of us at the table, but the overall experience lacked the energy and entertainment that make hibachi dining special. The food itself was okay, although it was a bit too salty from the soy sauce. Next time, I would ask for low-sodium soy sauce or no added soy sauce so I could season my food to my own taste. I did have some fried rice left over to enjoy later, which was a plus. The lunch special, available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., cost $30.50 and included a salad or soup, hibachi vegetables, hibachi vegetable rice, and homemade dipping sauces. I had also received an email advertising a three-course lunch for $15.95 with a 40-minute guarantee, but I didn't see that offer listed on the menu. It would have been helpful to have that promotion clearly displayed and explained. Overall, this visit was disappointing. The convenient parking and crisp salad were positives, but the strange-tasting water, cold appetizer, long wait for the cooking surface, underwhelming chef performance, and overly salty food made the experience less enjoyable than it should have been. I hope management takes a closer look at the lunchtime experience, food quality, equipment readiness, and promotional offers. Benihana has the potential to provide a much better dining experience, and I would like to see this location make improvements, attract more customers, and earn the positive reviews it deserves.
