    Kimchi Tofu Soup
    Shan C.

Parking is in the back. I've passed by this place many times on AZ Ave, finally got to try it out. It's very cozy inside, kind of like a tavern. I got the tofu kimchi soup. It was good! Paired well with the rice. It leans salty (FYI for your preference). The side dishes were really good. We ate everything. Service is very efficient.

This place is amazing! My husband and I love Korean food and we've been to places all over the valley. This one is our favorite. It's truly home cooked authentic Korean food. Best sides we've ever had. We are so lucky the owner and her Mom moved here and opened up Chodang! We've been here twice so far and we expect to come back often. It's the first time we ate every single morsel of every side!! Love it here. Try this place!!

Amazing beef soup! Never disappoints. We come here regularly and fell in love. The kids and the whole family enjoy eating here. Great service and you can get refills on the side dishes and it's clean.

Absolutely DELICIOUS! We've been living here a year and most recently tried choosing and Ong so gooooooog! We had a seafood pancake, yukdaejang, and ox bone soup. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! The flavors on everything were so good. Made fresh to order. I cannot wait to go back!

I wanted some Korean food and we were some what close so decided to come here. I believe I came here many years ago but not 100%. Ordered yukgaejang, Seoul leong tang, and spicy pork bulgogi.. Well, my mom said this place is known for soup which I can agree. Both of the soup was yummy. Yukgaejang was nice and spicy and pretty decent amount of veggies and meat. Seoul leong tong was also pretty dang good. Nice harty broth. Side dishes were actually pretty darn good. Now for bulgogi was sub par. It wasn't bad but definitely not worth the money. This place was not quite 4 but closer to 4 then 3. Only other complain was that dishes price are on the high end.

Have been coming here for years and it is as great as ever. There seems to have been a misunderstanding that this place has moved but it has not

My FAVORITE authentic Korean restaurant! It's family owned and truly a local gem. I haven't had one thing that's bad here. I can't wait to return!

I would like to preface this review by saying I am of Korean descent and originally from NYC which translates to the fact that I have had a lot of good Korean food. I can confidently say I have tried almost all of the Korean restaurants in the East Valley and Scottsdale areas and Chodang is by far the BEST! There may have been some misinformation that this location was closed but they are OPEN. The food is always consistently delicious and the owner is so welcoming each time my family and I go including when we went yesterday. When you're craving some authentic Korean food, check out this place. You'll be glad you did!

    Seollang-tang soup- comfort food!

This is beyond the best seollang-tang and rivals any k-town place in LA. So so good every time we eat here! Yes this place is open and ready to serve with the best fresh banchan (side dishes). I drive over an hour to eat here because it's that good! I have tried all their other dishes and DEE - licious! My daughter loves it here and every chance she gets wants to tag along with my wife to eat here! Good to the last drop!

What a hidden gem in Chandler!! The outside looks very unsuspecting and is nothing fancy, but once you step inside you'll know you're going to get some good Korean food. The owners were so friendly and fun to chat with. They moved from Seattle and started this restaurant 2ish years ago; and the mom makes everything from scratch!! I've always wanted to try neng myun and this was the perfect 110-degree day in AZ to do that! I brought a friend that had never had Korean food and we were both amazed at how good everything was. The neng myun was so flavorful, refreshing, and filling! The bibim neng myun had the perfect spice level for me (mild). All the banchan was fantastic. This is a Korean place you HAVE to try while you're in the area!! I will definitely be back to try more of the dishes when I'm in town!!

My husband and I have been coming to Chodang for a couple years now, and it is just our favorite homey Korean restaurant in Chandler. The food is delicious and comforting, just like my halmoni's, and comes out quick every time. The owners are so kind and attentive and are always able to accommodate our vegetarianism (they can do the dolsot bibimbap with tofu). (Make sure you park in the lot behind the restaurant, where there's plenty of spots, and it's much easier to get out.) Go check them out immediately!

I'm not just a foodie, I'm a tofu-die Oof, I hate updating a review but with new owners comes new flavors and these new flavors ain't it for me. I came for some mandoo soon dubu and a kimchijeon. Once the place for my favorite soon dubu, but now? Not so much. I'm use to the soup coming to the table boiling violently with a temperature similar to the surface of the sun. Not this time. I could probably have soon dubu every day and not be bored but not if it's from Chodang. While not entirely unsatisfying, I would rather spend my money elsewhere to have a gooey egg and for it to be brought to the table looking like a small witch's cauldron full of simmering egg and soft tofu. As for the kimchijeon, it was decent, albeit a bit greasy. My family enjoys this place so I'll probably be back but if it's my choice, I'd rather go to some of the other local spots around town for soup. Bonnie is super cool though so tip well!

The service was wonderful. The staff brought our food to the table and checked on us during the meal. Overall the service was a 10 out of 10 and the environment made it a really pleasant place to sit and eat. The fries were excellent. They were crispy, hot, and very well done. One order would honestly have been enough for both of us because the portions are generous. We each ordered fries and ended up taking both boxes home, so just know they are definitely shareable. The wings came out piping hot with a really nice crunch. The texture was great and the chicken itself was juicy and not dry at all. The only thing that was a little underwhelming for me was the flavor. We ordered the Spicy Original wings but they did not have much noticeable spice and they did not come with any sauces. I am definitely a condiment person, so having some kind of dipping sauce available would take these wings to the next level. Even just one or two options on the side would make a big difference. That might be on me for not asking more questions about sauces when ordering. Overall the value was great, the environment was great, the chicken was great, and the fries were great. A little extra sauce would have taken it over the top. I actually wandered in while I was heading over to Los Favoritos and ended up glad we stopped. I would absolutely go back and next time I will probably try one of the flavored wing options.
